loved the location and how unique the unit is.
would have liked a tv in the upstairs where the bedroom is.
no point having the cooktop…nowhere really to use it. would also provide a step stool for getting dishes from above fridge and on shelves.
folks should definitely be in shape, as the apartment is on the 2nd floor and there are two spiral stairs cases in the apartment.
all of this is just suggestions…would definitely stay here again!!!

The apartment is very cosy and nice. The location is ideal as it is close to everything in old San Juan. Clean, tidy and with all the amenities. The host is very flexible and accommodating. Highly recommended
There was a small mistake/lack of clarity in the welcome instructions.

location and cleanliness
the roof top view was overrated. And the 2 sets of spiral staircases.

The property was quite nice. Exactly as pictured, renovated not too long ago, but still retaining that old building charm. The check-in directions were pretty easy to follow and the roof-top deck, one of the main things that clinched the listing for me was just as described. All basic amenities needed were provided. Room was prepped with the AC on for my arrival which I really appreciated. It's right in the middle of Old San Juan, literally in walking distance from everything you would want to see and experience. I love staying in walkable cities and this location is perfect for that. The host (Peter) was very responsive and communication was great. Would happily stay again.
A couple of things that would be good to know. The property is right above a restaurant and across the street from at least one or two bars. It is consistently noisy. The bar or restaurant played loud heavy metal/rock music starting pretty early in the day and generally until late at night. Quite loudly. The apartment itself dampens a good bit of the noise, but it's inescapable. I'm a city person and grew up around that, so it didn't bother me too much, I think I tuned it out by the second day, but it's something to keep in mind. If you are looking to rent a place for some extended rest and relaxation or work, this is not the place for that. Also, older part of the city, so water pressure issues, something to keep in mind.

Overall the space was charming and has a lot of character. The apartment is placed in the heart of Old San Juan so it’s perfect for anyone that wants to spend a few nights as a tourist.
The entire area is beautiful, lively and very walkable. Check-in was dead simple once you find the door (that is currently in the middle of the La Masa Pizzería Conceptual).
The host was very responsive and communicative and I’m sure if I had any urgent needs they would have been addressed swiftly.
While I’ve got a few minor quibbles (below) I really enjoyed the space and would definitely consider staying here again if I make it back to Puerto Rico.
While I loved the apartment, there are a few things to be aware of.
First, in addition to the stairway to get to the 2nd floor (that the apartment is located on) there are two somewhat narrow spiral staircases. One to get from the living space to the bedroom, and another to get to the rooftop. If you are a larger human being, or have mobility issues you might want to avoid these apartments. (I stayed in #5, so the other units may be different).
Having never been to Old San Juan it wasn’t apparent to me how loud it can get as there are a number of clubs and bars - so you can expect to hear music playing from about 11am until 2-3am even during weekdays. At the time I’m writing this, the lower floor of the building is home to a pizzeria and a bar, so expect to hear the low din of reggaeton for the duration of your stay.
While the address provided by the host was accurate, it would have been helpful to know that the door to access the hallway to the residences is actually smack dab in the middle of (as of the time of writing this) a pizzeria. Gaining access was easy, but I definitely walked right past the door a couple of times. Ha.
The shower water gets nice and hot, but don’t expect high end hotel water pressure - it’s a historical building and likely hasn’t had a plumbing update in quite some time. I didn’t mind but I know that’s a huge deal for some.
The aprtment does include free wifi, but it isn’t blazing fast. Totally serviceable for web browsing and a bit of Netflix - but if you have business video calls or heavy file transfer needs, you’ll need to make other plans.
At the time of my visit, there was a fair bit of rain and unfortunately the skylight near the bathroom had a leak. Thankfully I noticed and didn’t slip. The host has been alerted and hopefully this will be repaired soon. (Again - it’s a historical building, not the ritz)

best part is the location. close to all of the action and in the center of viejo San Juan. property also provides you with beach towels and Two sets of clean bathroom towels. owner is very responsive to any questions. there are some reviews which state the bed is overly firm and not comfortable but the bed was very comfortable for us. kitchen is fully stocked with all necessities and plus some more. everything was carefully thought out and clean.
nothing negative about the property.

the location in old San Juan was great. walking distance to anything you want to see. Rooftop was nice!
the bed is so hard your arms fall asleep if you are lying on one. The main floor of apartment was significantly warmer than the bedroom. The bathroom mirror lighting is poor. There was an old lime on the bathroom vanity when we arrived.
