10 Night Stay - Worth Every Penny!
Place is fantastic!!! Owners are even better!! Great location in town, but very quiet and not to far from the water. We road our bikes everywhere. Everything was immaculate clean, room, pool, etc. Close to shopping, bars, etc.
Thanks you again, Greg & Silvia!

Great Property in the Middle of Town
I really enjoyed my stay here, the hosts were welcoming and informative and were very flexible around my checkout which was much appreciated! I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to explore Cozumel on foot, it's right near the ferry!

Loved our stay on Cozumel and so glad we chose Stingray Villa. Great location, and hosts. Great room that was clean, and cozy. Will definitely return! ☺️
We really liked that they provided drinking water in the room & recycled. Thanks!

Highly Convenient and Responsive
We stayed at Stingray Villa for one week over Christmas and loved it. Excellent location. Not a single problem.

Wonderful place, wonderful people
Quaint adorable little place. Close to the grocery mart as well as the local market. We highly recommend walking the 4 blocks to the local market for an authentic and inexpensive meal with the locals. Silvia and Greg are fabulous hosts and keep to themselves unless you need something. We frequent Cozumel 2-3 times a year as the diving is fantastic, we usually stay at a resort but we opted to try something a little different this trip and are very happy that we did and that we discovered Greg & Silvia’s hacienda. We will definitely be returning to Los Alcatraces.

Sally and I had a wonderful time staying at Los Alcatraces. Very close to everything with a nice courtyard with full privacy and a pool - very close to everything with a nice small courtyard with full privacy and a pool to cool off - We were mostly out and about but when we returned to the room we knew we could count on peace and quiet, good coffee and lots of drinking water🌈

Sooo Clean
This is a wonderful place to stay. Greg and Silvia are the best hosts. The place was very clean and comfortable. We can not say enough about this place. We enjoyed sitting outside in the morning have coffee. The garden is the perfect place to start the day. The pool was refreshing and clean. You will not be disappointed. We will be back for sure.

always safe
15-minute walk to Mega (the main grocery store), don’t rent a vehicle unless you plan to drive quite a ways (or if you need to drive). We were able to walk to most places. There’s a fantastic snorkel spot right behind the restaurant called Jeanie’s. Wear lots of sunscreens. Always have a water bottle with water in it on hand (stay hydrated). Keep your stuff safe, don’t be afraid to be assertive, don’t be afraid to say no, don’t be overwhelmed, just do your best to relax and enjoy the ocean and the cool shops and awesome culture.

wonderful place
I absolutely Loved Silvia & Greg's cozy place and beautiful garden & pool! The room décor was cute & cozy, it was completely clean & spotless, having coffee provided was exactly what I needed! & the 2 of them were fantastic hosts! Such great energy & from the moment I met them such a great positive vibe! I will HIGHLY recommend your place to any friends who go there! And I would love to stay again when I return for Ironman Cozumel 70.3 again next year!!! Zero complaints! It couldn't have been better! ♡ :-) Great price for all you need 1km walk to main street! You can walk to restaurants & ferry within 15min.

nice place
Very nice friendly hosts.
Nice and quiet side of Centro. A large cleaning tank is a plus for divers. Walking distance (between 5-10 minutes) for many good local restaurants. Few convenience stores within few blocks.

Silvia and Greg were wonderful! The house and location meet the photos posted on the ad! I highly recommend a stay at their home! Hello and see you soon

Love Silvia's and Greg's place
We had a fantastic time with you guys. Your kindness and your good advice on places to see around were very appreciated. We would love to come back and stay with you again. The place was clean, well kept and well furnished. Best coffee we had in Mexico! I will highly recommend you to everyone who wishes to stay home away from home in Cozumel.

Our favorite place to stay in Cozumel!
Another great stay with Silvia and Greg. Los Alcatraces checks all the boxes for us: in the Centro close to our favorite restaurants, QUIET, safe, easy access to our dive boat by car, rinse tank for dive gear, great hosts. We've already booked our next stay here.

Better than any all-inclusive!
Greg and Silvia are super awesome!! Highly recommend their place to stay. The bathroom was spotless, and so was the bedroom. They even have a private pool which is so cool. We used their pool, and they also have free coffee. They have free filter water for us too. I’m so glad we chose their place for our five days and four night. They were also super nice. Our plane didn’t leave until 3 pm so they offered that we leave our luggage at their place when we check out at 11. Silvia was also super friendly, she offered us parking for our scooter in the property if we rented one with no charge. We didn’t need the scooter because a lot of the restaurants were within walking distance.

Fantastic Location & Space
The room was roomy, clean, safe and had lots of storage space (a plus). We appreciated all the recommendations, from where to rent the car (Isis), best restaurants to eat (LeChef & King Burrito), which dive company to use (Scuba Tony) and the best place to spend the day (Punta Sur). Thank you for the magical get a way!

Good Place
It was a well-kept, attractive place with two motel-like rooms off a small garden behind the home. Even had a small dipping pool off the garden. It felt very safe and we were warmly welcomed. It is a good 15 minute walk through typical Mexican neighborhood. It is not your resort on the ocean. But if you are looking for a more authentic experience, it fits the bill nicely with both price and accommodation. Only suggestion would be to add a fan to the bathroom.

Perfect location to experience it all! Beautiful,
Great location to walk, bike, run, travel by taxi from. Amazing, private, and secure setting at Los Alcatraces. Quaint garden and pool allow for your personal experience to start and end the day in a serene setting. Room and amenities are fantastic and all you need. Coffee provided - I never drank coffee until I tasted this, couldn't get enough! Water is provided so you can fill up for the day's travels - huge perk as we saw many people lugging cases of water through town. Close to groceries, shopping, and everything you need. Bought food and snacks at the Mega grocery store (5 blocks away, straight shot) for breakfast and lunch and ate most of our evening meals off the main strip - Lobster Shack, King Burrito, Cuatro Taco, local bakeries, vendors. Prices will fluctuate at some shops/stores as cruise ships come and go. One day had 8 cruises in port and by night they were gone and you could move freely through the market place.
We rented bikes for most the week and were able to travel up and down the coast line visiting various beaches, places, etc. Took a taxi over to the other side for less than a scooter rental. Read the fine print of all the rental agreements - they get you with the insurance requirements! Barter or ask to see the taxi fee chart if traveling longer distances around the island. We got three different responses when we first asked to travel across the island. We were advised and warned, but you get swarmed by the time share and rental people at the airport - Head straight to the Shuttle Rental/Ticket booth - to the left of the exit door to expedite leaving the airport. Used Trip Advisor to get little hints, advice, or reviews about areas and offerings to save a few dollars or avoid some pitfalls. People overall are very friendly and the more courteous you are they typically respond the same.

Perfect retreat, close to neighborhood restaurants
We stayed 5 days with Silvia and Greg, who were gracious hosts. Silvia was quick to offer assistance and suggestions when needed. The location is convenient to our favorite restaurants (back in the neighborhoods) and is also easily accessible to La Caleta, where we meet our dive guide.
The room was well appointed and the A.C. was efficient even in the heat of the day.
It rained quite a bit during our stay so we did not use the pool or the garden area much, but it was well maintained and full of lush plants and flowers. We really appreciated the rinse tank for our dive gear.
Location is secure and very quiet, we slept soundly in both the afternoons and nights.
Parking is on the street directly across from the gate, we had no issues finding a spot.
We will definitely be return customers.

I have stayed in many rent by owner places on vacation and this was by far the best
The hosts are absolutely fabulous: helpful, friendly, approachable & super kind. We were super early and they accommodated us and late to leave & they understood. They sent us maps, restaurant suggestions, and specific tips on how to get to their place from the airport including on how to avoid tourist traps & scams. Daily cleaning was punctual and thorough. Silvia gave us several tips and helped us with anything we needed: iron & ironing board, she noticed that our rented scooter's tire was low on air and proceeded to fill it with air using her pump. She really took care of us and was very kind and friendly. Absolutely loved our experience. I can't say enough about the location and the hosts. We really do hope we can stay there again in the future.

Wonderful stay
Where do we start .well it all started with a warm welcome at the front gate by Silvia to show us around the property very well kept and exceptionally clean inside the property as well inside the room .the room is very well layout very nice pillows aswell the mattress and the house towels that they provide is better then any hotel that we stayed before.TOP quality all the way this was our 4th trip to cozumel and it was the best by far no question about it .we will no longer stay at any hotel's again. Thank you Greg And Silvia and don't forget Rosie the watch dog does not miss a thing. We can't wait to see you all again soon

If you hate the constant hustle of the hotel strip step back a bit and leave it behind. We stayed on the water one night and it was awful. The constant hawking of trinkets- the harassing of junk shop employees. You want to be polite, but after the 100th one you learn to pretend they don't exist- which makes you feel like crap. Skip all that. We parked right in front of our place, ate at restaurants that weren't owned by global conglomerates, and had a peaceful stay.

I traveled to Cozumel for 7 days for vacation. I was very pleased with the warm welcome and hospitality throughout my stay. I am a Marriott and Hilton girl and was not disappointed with the amenities, cleanliness, and comfort of my room. The bathroom was large (bigger than most hotels) and the linens and bed were very comfortable. I decided to stay in this quaint hotel because I wanted to experience the culture of Cozumel, which I was able to do. I was a bit skeptical when I got out of my taxi because the surrounding homes did not resemble what I was used to, however the area is very safe. I traveled alone and walked the streets until late in the night and did not fear for my safety once. I did not have a car for most of my trip, however per Greg's advice I rented a car for $40 to visit the other side of the island which was beautiful. Both Greg and Silvia were very accommodating and gave me great suggestions and recommendations for restaurants and sites to visit. The grocery store, souvenir shops and of course the beach are a 5-10 minute walk. The ferry to Cancun is a 10 minute walk and runs every 30 minutes for about $8 each way. I am glad I chose to stay at Los Alcatraces and highly recommend this property for couples and single travelers.

My stay at this location was a bit over a week and I highly recommended it. Customer service was great - both Sylvia and Greg are great hosts. Room was very clean and had all the amenities I needed (TV, drinking water, small refrigerator, comfortable bed and most importantly air conditioner). Great restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Looking forward to returning next year during Christmas holidays.

This was the first time in Cozumel that my husband and I ventured away from the "flight and room" packages. We were very pleasantly surprised. The tropical room and pool area was amazing space with a breakfast each morning of pastries, fruit, juice and Mexican coffee. The location was walking distance to the center of town, many local restraurants and the large grocery store. We will definitely be back and stay with Greg and Silvia.

Last minute get away so we didn't want to spend a bunch. Found this little gem and fit our needs perfectly. Very clean...very secure. Breakfast was an added bonus. Hosts were very accommodating.

My husband and I spent a week at Greg and Silvia's. The location was close enough to town to easily walk yet far enough away to not have tourists everywhere. Lots of small restaurants close by. The pool was a great way to cool off when the weather got hot. Every morning Greg delivered breakfast to the table in front of our room, a great way to start the day. The best part of the room were the sheets, I want some for my house. Only complaint was the coffee was weak. Highly recommend this property and we will definitely stay there again if we go back to Cozumel.

This is a great little spot if you are a single or pair. Clean and safe. Easy access to everything in town by foot. The owners are welcoming and helpful.

I cannot rate this location highly enough! They greeted me upon my arrival, and made sure they were available for my departure to make for a smooth transition!
They gave me some great recommendations for scuba diving operations, and helped me make arrangements. Also they were very familiar with ammenities in the area and introduced me to some amazing local food!
I enjoyed the small outdoor area and pool. Unfortunately I was feeling unwell for my last 2 days there and I was not venturing far from my room, but this cozy backyard made me feel at home when I needed it most! Also all the basics from a pharmacy to convenience stores are located nearby for such circumstances!
I will happily stay here again on my next trip!

We thoroughly loved our stay at Los Alcatraces B & B!! We have always done the hotels on prior trips, thought we would give this a shot & we won't be going back to hotels! Silvia & Greg & Rosa opened our eyes to so much more of Cozumel. We were brought early coffee & fruit to our door and later we would walk downtown for a midmorning breakfast @ Jeannies to enjoy the view of cruiseships. And we were only blocks from the local markets, that was fun to experience! Just can't say enough good about our time @ Los Alcatraces!! We always felt very very safe and Silvia & Greg have wealth of information to share. Will be going back!!

Greg and Sylvia were welcoming and accomodating from the outset. They are a mine of information and if you ever need entertaining a chat with either of them will end up either educating you or making you laugh.
The location of the B&B is awesome - a short walk to the Ego gym and La Cuisine as well as only five minutes bike ride from the local pool. Minutes on foot from the town centre and loads of small eateries. A gereat place to base yourself if training for the upcomming races or just to get in shape.( watch out for Greg's breakfasts though - he serves up some super fresh healthy fruits and then drops a deleicious local pastry on theplate just to tempt you. A great start to the day :-)
The room is large and airy with great air con - totally necessary during the summer - and a ceiling fan. Sylvia keeps it impeccably clean and ensures you lack for nothing.
With the en suite shower this home away from home will deliver all you possibly need whilst on Cozumel - we stayed a month and found it everything we wanted.

This was my second time staying with Greg and Silvia, they are great hosts....always accommodating and helpful. I had a car for a few days and got a parking ticket, the police pull the plates off the cars they ticket to ensure payment...Silvia offered to help with the payment process, she went with me to City Hall to take care of it....about $13.00US later, we were done. thanks Silvia! The rooms are great, very cozy and comfortable. the location is one of my favorite things about Los Alcatraces, it's an easy walk to most places around town. Of course, Rosa ( their dog ) is always a plus....she makes it feel like home!
If you are not the resort type and are looking for something difference from hotels.....I definitely recommend Greg and Silvia's place.....you won't be disappointed. :-)
2.5
The hosts, Greg and Sylvia, make your stay simple and pleasurable. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was a god send for my back! A wonderful breakfast everyday, close proximity to everything in town - we spent the month of November at Los Alcatraces and only rented a car one day to explore the island... we could walk everywhere (for those who don't like to walk, taxis are plentiful and cheap to get around town). Greg and Sylvia are a great resource for what restaurants to eat at, what rental places (cars, scooters, snorkeling, scuba) to use - don't sign up for anything until you get there and speak with them... you'll likely find a better option after speaking with them. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the new friend we made of Rosalita - the real queen of Casa Las Alcatraces (sorry Sylvia). I couldn't recommend this B&B more highly.... my wife and will will certainly be back! Gracias Greg y Sylvia!
2.5
This B&B had everything I needed! The room was clean, bed and pillows were not worn out, TV cable worked and picture clear, mini fridge actually kept things cold, pool was just enough for a cool dip on the hot days, rear court yard was tasteful and had a rinse tank and clothesline to dry dive gear. Gregg and Sylvia are great host and had my breakfast ready for me every morning on time. Very quiet area and with room in the back you don't hear any street noise.
One of the many pet peeves I found in the tropics is moldy bathrooms, refrigerators and the cleaning of rooms by just wiping down with water. NOT HERE, GREGG AND SYLVIA use soap and a disinfectant so the entire place is MOLD FREE!!!!!
A budget priced room with million dollar service.
