The property is serene. The outdoor area is huge. It has a Coi pond, kids play area , lounge chairs and is surrounded by fields in a small town. You do need a car as it is not near anything walkable. The house is well stocked for cooking and definitely a place for a larger group with or without kids. It has a bar area, large jacuzzi, outside grill.
The entire property is surrounded by a stone wall. It has a homey feeling for sure! All tourist areas are 15- 45 minute drive.

The accommodation was perfect for the six of us. It was ideally situated in a village outside Bayeux - which has lots of supermarkets, bars and restaurants (as well as the Tapestry).
It also afforded small distances to travel to many of the significant D-Day sights such as Longes sur Mer, Arromances, the British Normandy Memorial to name but a few. The furthest we had to travel was an hour to Utah beach.
If you want to be able to walk to a bar or restaurant this is not the place, but for us it was perect to return to, to kick back, chill in the hot tub and plan the next day.
The hosts were lovely and non intrisive
There was one room woth ensuite on the ground floor, along with a spa, further showers and loo. There was also a fridge and freezer on the ground floor. Upstairs were a further two bedrooms, a bathroom and a further loo, along with kitchen diner. There was a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, iron etc so all bases covered!
The outside area had a bbq, table and chairs and loungers. It was beautiful and lovely to hear the birds singing amd cows mooing!
Highly recommended.

Lovely gite in beautiful gardens. Hosts were so helpful and friendly. Perfect location for the Nomandie beaches. Lots of space in the gite. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Stayed here over Easter as a base to visit the landing beaches, Bayeux etc.
Very good rooms and peaceful location, only about 45 minutes from the ferry terminal.
Owners very friendly and helpful.
Hot tub is a bonus!
Recommended.

Easy check in very nice accommodations. They had to push the center of activity.
Also very close to all the landing beaches!

Took a short trip from Paris to Normandy… the property was gorgeous and comfortable! The spa tub was a special treat! The owners are so friendly and accommodating. Normandy was so welcoming and this was a perfect spot.

Location is beautiful and very relaxing. The hosts were excellent in responding to requests and needs. It is a very safe place and convenient to Bayeux shops and restaurants. We had a rental car and managed to get around with our gps. It was quiet and peaceful.

We found the house excellent for 2 couples, we had communal areas and private areas which suited us. Supermarkets and shops on the outskirts of Bayeux were handy. Ideal location for the beaches.. would choose this accommodation again.

The pictures don’t really do justice to to this property. Absolutely stunning accomodation in a beautiful settling.
Owners were exceptionally easy to deal with and took the time to settle us in. Helpful and discreet.
Stayed here with family and would highly recommend this property.

Excellent quiet location in the countryside near Bayeux. Seven of us, 4 adults and 3 teenagers, stayed for the week. Accommodation and facilities were excellent, plenty of room inside, which was good as the weather was a bit wet. Very clean and comfortable, hosts were excellent, helpful, and not intrusive. Spent a lot of time in the Spa which is much bigger than it appears in the pictures. Close to all of the Normandy attractions I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a central place to stay in the area.

In a small picturesque village 10 mins outside of Bayeaux. The ground are beautiful and the communications with the owner were good. The only downside was the interior is quite dated and "eclectic" shall we say. 1980s next to antiques. It seemed to be furnished with people's hand me downs or discards. But I knew that from the pictures and mainly rented it as we needed 3 bedrooms in the area and the listing says it has A/C. Which we needed because my husband does not do well in the heat. There was no A/c anywhere. There wasn't a heat wave and we slept with the windows open and were fine, but this needs to be corrected for accuracy. When all was said and done we enjoyed our stay there but it would get 5 stars rather than 4 if the decor was better

Owners were great with communication and so warm and friendly. Absolutely stunning property. Plenty of space and about a 10 minute drive to Bayeux. The floorplan is a bit odd, but it's not a new home. Original/owner's home was built in 1100s(ish) and rental home (across courtyard) was built in 1700s(ish). As we understand it, there are 45 "fortified farms" in the area - farms with walls around them dating back several hundred years so they could be defended. This is one of those homes.

Beautiful, quiet, and peaceful property and surroundings. Loved the historic chateaux - very special, once in a lifetime experience. Nice to have convenient parking inside the compound. Kind and helpful hosts- very personable. Convenient to sites we wanted to see. Comfortable beds & living room furniture. Loved having the spacious kitchen and dining area. Mostly well-stocked kitchen. Enjoyed the spa.
The issues were: toilet didn’t flush - but was fixed right away. Bad smell from WC and bathroom/ shower room, which was noticeable, strong and disturbing there and in the bedroom (with the purple quilt, upstairs.) Bedroom door upstairs wouldn’t stay closed- had to prop the chair against it. Frying pan was rusted and bent- unusable. Couldn’t figure out how to turn on the stove - would have appreciated written instructions.(oven was okay). #1 issue- not air conditioned as advertised, and we were often too warm. Only 1 portable air conditioner for 1 room, which required leaving window open to stick a huge vent through it, so we all were bitten by mosquitoes and bothered by flies. Fans helped but we expected it to be fully air conditioned.
Sorry for these negatives- thought it would be helpful to pass along the information. We really had a nice time overall and appreciated our lovely hosts. Thank you!

We had a great experience seeing life on the French countryside. It was a short drive to Bayeaux and Normandy. The hosts were great and were very accommodating despite our late arrival (1:00 in the morning)!

We were three retired couples travelling throughout France. The owners live on the same property so were there to greet us and acquaint us with the accommodations as well as amenities close by. They were friendly and not at all intrusive. The property was beautiful and showed pride of ownership. It might be of interest to some that there was a bedroom and full bathroom on the same level right next to the spa (hot tub) that also had a three piece bathroom. The other two bedrooms were accessed from an outdoor staircase to the second level. There was only one shower on this level and it was inside one of the bedrooms. Although it was not exactly what we expected it served our purpose as we spent full days touring the area.

Lovely property and tranquil setting. The gardens were beautiful and the hosts were charming and helpful.

We were delighted with our stay in Le Manoir. The property itself is precisely as listed -- gorgeous, historic, spacious - and still with every modern amenity. Our hosts were helpful, cheerful and understanding when we were very late checking in (flight delays!). The village is fascinating to explore with old bridges and church (1025) and also lending libraries and gorgeous plantings. Grocery store options are plentiful with local depaneur in 10 minutes and full Carrefour in 15-20. I long to return.

This property is outstanding and it’s owners are so intent on providing the best stay possible. The extras such as a great gas bbq is a great bonus. The jacuzzi was big enough for the six of us. It also provides satellite tv.we would highly recommend staying here.

The family who own the property are very friendly and accommodating. The rental is a standalone building, with one bedroom and the hot tub/exercise room on the ground floor, and a separate entrance to the the other two bedrooms, living room, and kitchen/dining area upstairs. All of the rooms are clean and comfortable and appointed with everything you might need. There is a large, beautiful yard with a couple of swing sets that were great treat for the kids. The location is outstanding, in a quiet village just 10 minutes from Bayeux and 25 from Caen. We had a terrific time in Normandy and would love to stay here again.

Great property for visiting D-Day 75th anniversary sites
Beautiful property throughout, my family and I could not believe how much space there was, our children enjoyed feeding the chickens and ducks every morning and seeing the cattle in the field next door. Very peaceful. Great facilities for washing and drying clothes, and every other appliance you can think of. Mr and Mrs Delaby were very friendly and explained everything to us on arrival. I would love to stay there again one day and i have no problem in recommending to other travellers. A great place.

Amazing!
We absolutely loved this place. Such a peaceful, beautiful setting. We grilled steaks using the propane grill one night to take a break from eating out and enjoyed the large hot tub each night. The showers are hot and high pressure. We really appreciated having PLENTY of towels after a shortage at another location. The beds were very comfortable. The hosts were friendly with the option of French and English. They were happy to be of assistance if requested but did not impose. We loved our stay.

Beautiful, relaxing stay in Normandy.
The property was very well equipped and a great place to unwind after long days exploring.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the owners and family were lovely and made sure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at their property. When we arrived their daughter and husband who both spoke good english were there to greet us and explain everything. We were a family of six ( grandparents, son and wife and 2 teenage children ) .The property provided bedrooms on two floors with the groundfloor bedroom next to the spa which included a comfortable seating area. The kitchen and living facilities upstairs, although adequate, could do with improving. All features as described on the Homeaway site were accurate. The spa was a real bonus especially in the evening after a long day out. The outside area was private with plenty of sun lounges, table and chairs and a great barbeque. We were a little concerned about taking the children on a tour of the D day landings but they thoroughly enjoyed it. You are close to all main sites. There are plenty of safe beaches where you can swim. Bayeux has a large range of restaurants but beware they do close early.Overall a 5* experience

Charming, well-appointed, and comfortable.
This is a beautiful, historic property that is updated to satisfy the needs of contemporary travelers. We stayed as a family of four (two adult children). We appreciated the rural setting (apple orchard, stone walls, fields, chickens), but the location is only about a ten minute drive from Bayeux and convenient to the D-Day sites. The hosts are gracious and welcoming. And the hot-tub was a plus after a long day of sightseeing.

Simply superb
We absolutely loved our six days in this beautiful gîte tucked away in a picturesque Calvados village. The icing on the cake - the simply amazing jacuzzi just for us.
The gîte is set in lovely grounds and the only sounds are from the hens. A car is essential and Bayeux with its tapestry and massive cathedral is about 4 miles away.

Simply stunning!
Just returned from having spent a week in this absolutely amazing accommodation. Would totally recommend this to anyone requiring a peaceful and tranquil environment but with the added bonus of beautiful accommodation and a Jacuzzi for the use of this Gite only!! Ideally located for visiting The D Day beaches and museums and 10 minutes from Bayeux. We had a fabulous time and will be returning!

Comfortable Norman estate.
Our family of 5 was extremely happy to stay in this quiet, pastoral setting. The jacuzzi was a nice bonus after exploring the area. The expansive yard was great for the kids to run around in the play structures a welcome diversion. The hosts were welcoming and warm and very flexible. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you!

Country living in a manor.
The grounds were beautiful and spacious. The gite was very large and well kept. Large hot tub was a bonus.Loved this place and so close to Bayeux and the beaches.

A privilege to stay here
A centuries old building with an interesting history; a friendly family as our hosts, ready to help with anything we needed; an extraordinary and relaxing spa; beautiful quiet grounds, comfy beds and a Nespresso machine!! The only downside would be the bathrooms are not conveniently organized if more than 4 people staying. We loved it here.
4.8
Great home in the country.
It was wonderful to wake and hear the birds outside your window and also be able to soak it a beautiful spa after a long day of sightseeing. The water temp could have been a bit warmer for us. All the comforts of home in a 16th century building. Beautiful grounds to sit outside when weather permitting. Also lovely people who wanted your stay to be wonderful.

A little slice of heaven in Normandy
When you book a gite through a website you wonder if it will live up to the photos and descriptions. We needn't have worried - from the warm welcome we received from the lovely owners to the property itself, everything surpassed our expectations - it was just magical!

Beautiful property set in extensive grounds.
Beautiful stone farmhouse set in a large property with lots of room for children to play. Our grandson loved feeding the chickens and ducks. A quiet and peaceful setting. The grounds were beautifully maintained. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The spa room was perfect to relax and very well apppointed. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well equipped. We loved our stay here. It was a great base for visits to the D-day landing beaches and Bayeux within an easy drive.

2 (UK) mature couples stayed 24/30 April 2016 -
Such a shame that now we have visited all the places we wanted to in Normandy that we won't be returning very soon because it would be a total pleasure to spend another week at Le Domaine du Manoir! The owners were excellent & explained & helped with any questions we had. Maybe the only downside were the outside stairs when it rained but the (independent) acommodation has everything that 2 mature couples needed for luxury & comfort during our stay. Cannot recommend this place enough. absolutely brilliant!
4.8
Spacious cottage & garden in peaceful surroundings
Our family loved staying here. The bedrooms in the cottage are large and we all enjoyed the downstairs jacuzzi at the end of each day. There is plenty of outside space to play football, cricket, frizbee, boules and fly a kite. with lots of outdoor seating and lounging areas when the weather is kind.
Although it feels you are miles away from everywhere, Bayeux is only 10 mins drive up the road and there are plenty of sandy beaches and fishing ports within 30 mins. It is a great place to unwind.
Colette and her family are very welcoming and were only there at weekends so the rest of the time we had the place to ourselves. We will book here again when we next come to this part of Normandy.

Highlight of our trip
We really loved staying at this property. Our only problem was that we wished we had more time to stay there--a long weekend wasn't nearly enough time! The house is in a beautiful setting a little outside of Bayeux. Our GPS got us there no problem. You do need a car to stay there. It took maybe 10 minutes to drive to Bayeux, and the landlords provided directions to the local supermarkets. Our children (ages 7 & 4) didn't want to leave the property, there were so many things for them to do in the walled courtyard. There are two bedrooms and a kitchen/dining area upstairs (and two toilets, a full bathroom and a wash machine), as well as an additional bedroom, bathroom, bar and jacuzzi on the ground floor.
Colette doesn't speak much English (and we don't know much French), but it was not a problem at all. All of our email correspondence was in English, and she had a paper written in English that explained how everything worked on the property. Her daughter also talked to us to make sure everything was perfect for our stay.
It worked great for our group of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids). The place was clean and there were plenty of towels and bedding.
We took in a Normandy Battlefield tour, a visit to Mont St Michel (1.5 hours away) and saw the Bayeux Tapestry (a must if you stop in Bayeux).
If you want a charming place to stay and have a vehicle to use, this place is outstanding!

Fabulous!
This is a fabulous property set in wonderfully kept tranquil grounds. The property itself was equipped to a very high standard with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The jacuzzi was perfect for relaxing after a day out and about in the beautiful Normandy countryside. We met Colette and her husband who were charming and very thorough showing us all we needed to know on arrival. We spent a super week and will definitely book again next year for another visit to wonderful Normandy. We highly recommend this spotless spacious property and very much look forward to a return visit. Theresa, Gareth and family, Hertfordshire, UK
