We really enjoyed our stay here. We all agreed we would definitely return and recommend this property to anyone coming to the area!!
Couldn’t have asked for better communication with the owner Paul!
Beds were comfy, kitchen was well stocked with basics and there is plenty of room for a large group.
We were disappointed to find out only weeks ahead of our July 4th weekend stay that the back deck would not be available during our time there, and that’s definitely a big draw for this property. The owner did make an adjustment, but hopefully they are able to fix it soon so that others can enjoy the deck.
The view of the lake is definitely better before the trees are full of leaves but you can still enjoy the lake peeking through the trees!!
The walk to the “beach isn’t too bad, but we had a member of our party with some mobility/stamina issues and it was a little bit of a struggle for him. I would definitely recommend driving down to the area at the top of the stairs if anyone in your party has similar issues.
There are plenty of wineries/breweries within a few miles of this property and it’s only about a 25 minute drive from Watkins Glen. Oodles of places to eat and things to do nearby!

Thank you!

We had a great time on our trip. House was large and comfortable. We grilled on the porch and enjoyed a night around the fire pit outside. It was disappointing that the upper deck was roped off, but the discount was appreciated. The lower deck provided a beautiful view. The lake is a little bit of a walk and a small area, but we still had a good time splashing in the water. Near numerous wineries (particularly liked Silver Thread ten minutes up the Lake) We would definitely come back for a longer stay!

A small group of us needed a house on the lake for a weekend so we could do some wine tasting and relaxing for my best friend’s bachelorette celebrations. It was wonderful. Fully stocked kitchen, multiple bathrooms , lots of beds to pick from. The owner communicated very quickly if we had questions. Only real downside was the dock to the lake is not directly behind the property. For anyone who might not be able to handle steep hills better brining your car there. Also the water in the showers didn’t really get above warm. But the water pressure was great. Over all it was an absolutely wonderful perfect place to stay

The house was excellent - plenty of room for whole family with each couple having their own room. Location was outstanding - short walk to the dock, fun time playing basketball and pickleball, sitting on the deck and having a fire at night. Everything was a short drive - wineries, brewing companies, golf, boat rental, state parks/hikes, and even the grocery store. Had one issue with water pressure that was taken care of in short order, so host was very responsive.

The house is well maintained and in a beautiful location. It was a perfect place for several family members to meet up and spend a week exploring the finger lakes area. There are decks on both levels overlooking Lake Seneca, lovely spots for enjoying wine and conversation while watching the sunset. Paul was an excellent host and very communicative and responsive.

Great Location Great Deck

Perfect house for a gathering. House is clean and kitchen well stocked. Plenty of beds. Driveway is very steep. Plenty to do.

We were only a group of four, but Hector Chalet is a great home for large groups. Sleeping space is plentiful. Although we only used the kitchen for breakfast, the kitchen is well equipped.
The location is ideal, as there are many wineries nearby. Watkins Glen is about 20 minutes away, and Ithaca, about 30 minutes.
The owner, Paul, responds quickly to any questions or issues.

We were 4 families stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful property just by Seneca river surrounded by wooded area and many wineries.
We cooked both days and found all utensils and kitchen was big and very clean.
We will definitely recommend the place large families. There is ample room for big families with 10-15 members and also enough activities like basketball tennis court and access to the river.

We had a great time at the house and in Hector. When a question came up about the house, it was answered right away.

House was very well equipped. Nice soft bath towels! Wish the weather was nicer so we could have enjoyed the deck. Always seems to rain when we visit Finger Lakes. Host communication was excellent. Road down to house and driveway a bit treacherous/steep but that’s fully disclosed.

House was as described by owner. Very convenient to Seneca lake wineries participating in Deck the Halls wine trail. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. Owner is prompt with responses and is very accommodating. Bottle of wine as welcome gift, as well as a gallon of bottled water. This is a very nice house, with lots of room to spread out. We would definitely not hesitate to book again if we are in the area!

This home was great for a long weekend away. Five adults had plenty of space. Driveway is a tad steep but the view heading down the road to it was gorgeous.

Our group consisted of 8 friends. We were so pleased with this home as it was a quick car ride to a multitude of wineries/breweries and a distillery. It was also only a 30 minute drive over to Ithaca. The home had a beautiful view of the lake, was clean and had plenty of room to share meals but go our separate ways if individuals wanted time to themselves. The consensus of our group was that we would highly recommend this property.

Very convienent to dining and wineries. Lovely view of lake.

A great place to meet with friends. We, nine of us, spent many hours visiting, cooking and eating. A beautiful setting, comfortable and clean. Paul, the owner, quickly responded to any questions. And of course many wonderful wineries to visit.

Looked like the pics and the description. Perfect for a group right near all the wineries!!

Communication and ease of booking/checking in was excellent. Lots of space to spread out. Our group of 6 adults loved the location and beauty of the wineries and the lake. It was a 5 minute walk to the lake but we didn't spend much time there. The furnishings were adequate but dated. The kitchen was stocked with necessary tools to cook in several times. Outdoor fire pit was used and enjoyed. Overall, we loved the location and enjoyed morning walks up the hill to view the changing leaves of fall. The wineries/breweries and distilleries were all very close and hikes to see spectacular water falls were exceptional!

Eight members of our family (seven of us in our seventies plus our daughter in her late thirties) stayed for four nights and had a wonderful time. The house had plenty of sleeping room and gathering places. Our first evening we enjoyed having dinner on the deck with a view of an amazing sunset over the lake. We took advantage of this and took a great family picture (which we plan to frame) with the lake and sunset in the background. The location is ideal for exploring the area, including wineries, Watkins Glen, and Corning.
4.8
We enjoyed hiking at several locations within 15 minutes. There no less than 20 wineries and breweries within 5 miles. The house was spacious and very comfortable. Multiple decks allows for great views and privacy. The pickle ball court was a great hit. The host was very helpful and responded to all inquiries within minutes. We hope to book again next year!

The house was great and very clean with a great location. We did have water pressure issues but the owner was quick to help us out. The dock for the house was a pretty long walk which I don’t think was mentioned in the description. Despite a couple issues, I would stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hector Chalet for our yearly get together of friends who met on a Turkey trip. The property is well laid out and maintained. The kitchen was very well equipped and the home very comfortable which we loved. We enjoyed a few of the wineries, the dock and even tried out the pickle ball court. We certainly would stay again in the future.

We were a group of 6 that enjoyed staying in this home. Plenty of room for us within the home and though we did not sit outside due to a September heat wave, plenty of space on both the main floor deck and the deck that encompasses the lower level that has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom along with a second living room.
Paul was very attentive to emails and texts that were sent to him prior to our visit and while we were in the home. We had only few questions during our stay and Paul answered texts quickly.
The home has all the utensils, pots, and pans that is needed if you plan on cooking. The propane grill is large and he has a second spare tank ready in case the attached tank runs out of fuel.
There are beautiful views of the lake through the trees. The lake is one street down from the property. I will note, there is water access at the lake for renters, however, calling it a beach is a bit of a stretch. There is a very narrow strip of gravel (not a sandy beach) that you can swim out from or launch a kayak or canoe between 2 wooden docks.
Most importantly, this property is perfectly situated as a short 10 minute drive to downtown Watkins Glen and right on the wine trail with plenty of wineries between WG and this home.
Would we rent this home on a subsequent visit? Most definitely!

It was very clean! Well stocked kitchen! The response to a shortage of wash clothes was immediately addressed and appreciated. Parking was a bit of an issue for our 5 vehicles. A few things are showing their age, like the towels and wash clothes and the bar stools. We had 10 in our party and there was plenty of room!
4.8
This property was ideally located close to vineyards, wineries and lake Seneca. We really enjoyed the lake access as a family. The kids enjoyed the pickleball and basketball rec area. It was a great place to stay with two families. The rental process was easy and very clean. The only downside, was that the furniture and decor was a bit dated.
4.8
Beautiful setting, surrounded by trees. Place was clean and spacious. Plenty of room for your guests and family. Only problem was getting back and forth to Lake, which Wasn't my priority. Defintly would recommend!
4.8
A nice home, but a little far from lake for older people
4.8
This home is beautiful and the lake is lovely. There are many bathrooms and bedrooms! I would highly recommend!!!
4.8
Very private location but close to everything. Pickleball court on the property is added bonus.
4.8
We had a great stay! House was clean and well stocked with plenty of room for everyone. Great outdoor space. Would stay here again!

Seneca Wine Trail Chalet was a great place for our group of seven, older adults. The location was a perfect base for our daily trips out to sight see and sample the local wines. We were very comfortable and the unit was super clean and well stocked. We were fortunate and had perfect weather for our vacation. Many of our group tried out the pickle ball court that is right out the back door. Excellent deck space with a small gazebo and gas bbq grill.
We recommend this unit and we would come back again.

This was a wonderful location for a family gathering and was centrally located for hiking in fingerlake parks. Lots of eating and sleeping room. Kitchen was extremely well stocked with cooking and dishwear for feeding the family. Lots of sitting areas on the patios with view of Lake. The basketball /pickle ball court were also a hit.

Very nice place. Not as close to the water as we originally thought.

Our group of 8 college roommates from 50 years ago enjoyed the scenery, cleanliness and added bonuses( paper , cleaning and cooking. products) to make this a very happy reunion.
4.8
Great place for a group to relax and have fun. Plenty of beds and very close to several spectacular wineries.

We had an outstanding experience with our rental. The house was awesome, fully stocked, easy to get to and had plenty of room for all six of us. The owner was friendly and extremely helpful. Very detailed instructions were provided for everything. The location was perfect for our winery tastings and outdoor hiking. Highly recommended for totally excellent accomodations!

We rent this house yearly. It is perfect in every way! Great location and very comfortable and roomy.

We stayed here for the Deck the halls wine event. We had a great time and really enjoyed staying here. Would definitely stay here again if we go again.

Fantastic property. Very well suited for a large group of friends. Beautifully situated amongst wineries and breweries. This was our first stay in this region and definitely not our last.
