About this cottage rental
St Andrew’s Chapel is one of the premium properties within a Benedictine Monastery know as The Highland Club. Conveniently located near the spa and swimming pool, it is exceptional in every way. This spacious 2 bedroom property has an abundance of original features, in particular beautiful stained glass windows depicting Scottish Saints and large stone arches that have been thoughtfully incorporated into the room design. The majestic rib vaulted ceiling and large ornate stone mullioned windows give a feeling of spaciousness and presence. The kitchen is stylish and well appointed with a large island and beautiful dining area.
The bedrooms are located on the first floor, accessed from the hall. The large galleried master bedroom with en-suite bathroom projects over the living area, allowing views of the stained glass windows and changing light throughout the day whilst still affording privacy. There is a twin bedroom on this level, which has access to a shower room on the ground floor. All rooms have been beautifully designed and tastefully furnished with great attention to detail.
This unique and beautifully furnished 2 bed apartment was formerly St Andrew's Chapel. Designed by Pugin the Chapel has elaborate gothic features, this differs from the main Abbey Church which was designed in Norman style during a later period.
The Highland Club itself is set in 20 acres of private gardens on the shores of Loch Ness. In the heart of the Highlands, this sympathetic conversion is an ideal base for exploring all that Scotland has to offer.
A Welcome Hamper is provided for 7 night stays and a small Welcome Pack for short breaks. Our property manager will meet you on arrival and show you to your accommodation. As a guest you will have access to all The Highland Club has to offer.

The location is great for exploring the Highlands.
The apartment is immaculate!

Fort Augustus was great and we enjoyed a couple of meals and walking around.
The Highlands Club was much more impressive than we understood and we also wished we had planned more time on property. The view of Loch Ness alone was mesmerizing.
Our particular apartment was in the Abbey with incredible architecture and stained glass windows. The apartment had everything including an incredible kitchen and dining area. We knew from the pictures that the decor was pretty specific. Furnishings including the beds were getting old and in need of upgrade.
Overall, Fort Augustus and the Highland Club are very positive long term memories for our family.

This space was perfect for 4 friends on a trip to the highlands. We loved spending time sitting by Loch Ness and wandering Fort Augustus. Definitely worth staying here!

This is a once in a lifetime stay- such an incredible opportunity to stay in an historic place in a beautiful town. Check in was a travesty, but once we got into the room it was worth it

A unique and very comfortable apartment in what we hadn't realised was a very large complex but you hardly saw many other people. Plenty of activities on site including tennis, badminton, table tennis and snooker to mention a few with an efficient booking system which worked well. Lovely pool but is on the small side but steam room and sauna also. The Abbey is uniquely placed near the Loch and the Caledonian Canal with lots of activities available locally including golf and cycling with some water sports. We really enjoyed our stay, had a fabulous time and hope to return soon The staff from the Highland Club were welcoming, friendly and very helpful.

Stunning Stay
I was extremely happy to be able to book this property again. Very well appointed and clean, anything you may need is just a phone call away. It ticks all the boxes, especially location. The one downside is booking, there are way too many entities involved. When you look up Highland Club you may or most likely may not be booking with the actual Highland Club, and I think that causes quite a bit of confusion as witnessed by other people trying to check in. Also, the Highland Club is managed by a few different companies which is also confusing. I don't remember having such an issue last time we booked a few years back.
Our stay was blissful, you cannot beat the location if you explore by foot or car. There is a ton of local information available, many activities in the Highland Club itself. We were able to catch the Highland Games just a fifteen-minute drive away.

The property was stunning. Beautifully and interestingly decorated with an eclectic mix of furnishings. Well stocked for crockery etc.

Great location, gorgeous decor, and well equipped
A converted chapel complete with stained glass windows is certainly among the more unusual places we've stayed, but what Highland Club have done to make the place homely, beautifully designed, and luxuriously functional really helped make our trip to Loch Ness special. The Christmas decorations in particular added an extra touch of magical cosiness. Which is good - because I proposed to my fiancée up on Allt na Criche during our stay so I'm very glad the accommodation was as lovely as I hoped! The one thing we thought might have been an issue - the room temperature in December - was completely fine, and in fact we actually turned the heating down as it was so toasty. Other facilities like pool/steam/sauna and the Club lounge (pool table and snooker) were great too. Would happily return.

Excellent accommodation and overall stay!
The property is even better than advertised. Perfect luxury get away for two, we spent the first half of our honeymoon there and we’re very comfortable. The facilities are great and well equipped, great location right on the shore and close to the local amenities. Will definitely be back! (second bedroom small and would be slightly awkward with four adults due to main bedroom being a mezzanine- but perfect for kids)

Beautiful accommodation, beautiful setting
Stunning apartment, extremely well equipped, very unusual. We enjoyed the location on the shores of Loch Ness, within a short stroll of shops/pubs at Fort Augustus, and the facilities offered in the Abbey complex - swimming pool, billiards room and gym. Brilliant base for touring that area of the Highlands...

Fantastic location with lots of activities for all family members. Wide variety of good eating places within walking distance. Will definitely return for another staycation.

Extraordinary flat in a unique, tranquil setting
Stunning architecture and well-appointed. Made for a wonderful base from which to explore The Highlands. Would recommend to any couples or families seeking an alternative to hotels or the traditional B&B. Thank you!

Excellent Stay
No problems. Wonderful apartment, great facilities, smooth check in. Slight issue with shower as water temperature fluctuates a bit but doesn’t detract from a quality experience. 100% would stay again.

Simply Marvellous
The chapel was a unique accommodation, nicely decorated for the new year eve.. It was a memorable stay.. And the live band and dance made it extra special.

Lovely place for a short visit
We booked this as an alternative to a cottage, for 8 days. The flat itself is stunning to behold but does have a major problem with a lack of natural light due to the stained glass windows. You need to turn on around 8 lights each day which is a pain. Also due to the lack of windows to open I suspect it would get a little stuffy in the height of summer. Shower was powerful but did do the ‘hot, not so hot’ thing on a cycle. I did report so perhaps they can fix. There was no Bose sound system as promised which was disappointing as we like to listen to music. If this all sounds negative, apologies but I am being hypercritical due to the high cost of the flat. The flat is one of a lot of flats in the development. We didn’t have any problem getting in to use the pool however I suspect in busier periods it may get more difficult. Overall this is a lovely flat for two. Due to the slightly claustrophobic lighting I would recommend as more of a weekend stay rather than a longer visit. For a weekend it would be a stunning experience. Overall we very much enjoyed, a 7.5/10

Sleeping in a chapel.
Enjoyed the property.Very well equipped.Stained glass windows are wonderful.
Only two complaints-no window in the second bedroom and the clothes drier takes too long.

Beautiful spot
This place is beautiful! It was on the pricier end but staying inside a chapel was exceptional and the place is perfectly located.

Just as wonderful as it appears in the photos
This property is as wonderful as it seems in the photos. The property manager, Mike met us as we drove up. He gave us a tour of the property and was helpful throughout our stay.
The Chapel rental was all light up on our arrival and absolutely gorgeous. We appreciated the provisions provided. The beds are on the firm side but Mike provided us with a pillow topper. We enjoyed the swimming in the heated pool, playing ping pong and wandering the Abbey. The town is a short walk away, along with boating activities. We enjoyed dining several times at The Boat House restaurant. Would suggest dinner reservations, especially on the weekends. We would highly recommend staying at this very unique property.

Love and Hate
No one from management ever talked to us, maintenance man was of no help whatsoever. I had to reset hot water tank twice each day every day just to have heat and water. The electric curtains did not work and haven’t worked for 6 months according to maintenance man.. The sauna and steam room did not work, other than that the place was beautiful.

Funky, modern chapel designed to please
Ancient walls and windows—ultra modern amenities! There were 2 reasons I gave this property 4/5 stars was because there were stairs and no elevator, AND the smaller bedroom’s bath was down another flight of stairs. If you’re physically fit, it’s perfect! Great location for exploring the Highlands and good food in the Boat House restaurant on the Highland Club property.

Definitely has the WOW factor!
We very much enjoyed our stay in this apartment! It was very well equipped and so unique. The beautiful stained glass windows and arches mixed with modern was very tastefully done. We would definitely stay again!

Amazing location and stunning architecture but the decor and comfort were slightly lacking.
We were excited to stay in such a beautiful location. The gentleman checking us in was so friendly and helpful. The stain glass windows and architecture were truly breathtaking. The decor was questionable with lots of fake flowers and uncomfortable furniture. You could only take one shower at a time or it would be cold and the mattress was very uncomfortable and hard. I am glad we stayed one night but that’s all. We did enjoy the pool. Could have been very lovely if they invested in better beds and decor.

Lovely- beautiful and relaxing
The apartment was beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. I appreciated all of the amenities and the property manager was very helpful and friendly. Hope to come back!

Great holiday, wonderful apartment.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Highland Club, it’s amenities and the surrounding area. Top notch!
