About this apartment rental
Our fairly basic and compact studio has a queen size bed, clothes rail, a few 'cube' style drawers, a sofa, coffee table and an en-suite shower room.
There is a tall table and stools where you can eat inside and a bench table outside.
Freeview TV, CD & DVD player.
The kitchenette is equipped with: kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, sink and utensils (please note there is NO oven).
The heat pump has been temperamental so we've put in a small fan heater and another heater with a timer, for the colder months.
Ranch slider doors open onto a patio where there is a BBQ you can use; if you use it, please use the black BBQ vinyl & clean up afterwards.
Thank you :o).
The garden has views across to Labyrinth Rocks.
Theatrical scripts have been written in the chalet, so don't be surprised if you feel the urge to create. There seems to be something in the air which inspires. Well, it inspires me anyway.
A perfect relaxing holiday retreat or a base for more extreme relaxing.

It was all we wanted. It was rural, quiet, and handy to Takaka, was within walking distance. Would go there again.

The unit was handy to explore the Takaka area but the neighbours barking dogs and early morning rooster crowing was an unwelcome addition.

Nice location a comfortable walking distance outside of town. It's a very pretty area with lots to see. Guesthouse was clean and comfortable if overfurnished. Keep the windows closed at night as mosquitoes are rather bad. Not having wi-Fi was also an inconvenience. Somehow we must've missed that, if it was included in the description. Overall we had a good time there. Thank you

Great spot just out of Takaka. Comfortable, quiet, outdoor area, plenty of kitchen utensils etc. No wifi. Behind the main house but private.

This place was perfect for our needs as we were out and about most of the time - definitely no complaints at all. It's in a good location close to town but quiet. Nice.

As expected and advertised, similar to a motel unit in someone’s backyard, good value. Lots of lemons!

Weekend
Felt not suitable for winter stay especially older folk. Cold and damp on arrival....seemed hadnt been used for a while. More a summer stay. Towels were damp as rolled up. Lots condensation first and second nights. Third night building was warmer. Bed and kitchen very good. Couldn't work TV. Shower could have been cleaner at base. Sorry left icecream in box in fridge icebox...cleaner will need to remove. Loved the native birds. Didnt see a property manager so cant rate

Great location if you are wanting to be close to Takaka and at the gateway to both Able Tasman and K
Convenient , big enough for two people, tidy clean and had all we needed for a short stay.
To be able to bring my small elderly dog was hugely appreciated

Review of bach in Takaka
We could not connect to the TV but were able to watch DVD films left at the property. The ants were a problem as they got inside our packet of cereal which we had to dispose of. We did not realise that the rubbish had to be in a council bag to be collected . The next door neighbour explained that to us when we were leaving and supplied us with a council bag.

Great little spot to relax
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
The unit is like a large sleep-out, with just about everything you could need. The bed was comfy, water pressure excellent, and everything spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed the lemons in the garden also.
Highly recommended, and we'll be keen to stay again next year!

Excellent little spot
Great value, private and a nice wee spot to base a holiday in the Golden Bay. We had a relaxing stay and found the owners very flexible and good to communicate with.

Friendly hosts with quick communication response.Back yard bach is private and secluded, with well appointed kitchen facilities, a DVD and music player. The centralness of this location was perfect for us as the mid point between Collingwood/Farewell Spit to the West and Pohara/Tata Beach/Totaranui to the East.Bed was comfortable, pillows great, but could do with extra towels/linens.

Break in Golden Bay
Nearly everything was as the description said. However if we’re told that linen is provided then it should include facecloths or should advise to bring your own.

Great location
Great location at this quaint cottage in Takaka to beautiful Golden Bay beaches, Pupu Springs, Wainui waterfall walk, and further north to Farewell Spit then beautiful drive around Whanganui and Westhaven Inlets with stunning scenery and of heads out West Coast. Stopped at old wharf where crayfishing took place on a major scale until the late 60’s, very interesting to see and read about and talk with an older local. All in all a great few days at this location.

Really enjoyable place to stay, comfortable bed and nice out door area.
Only issue was getting information to find out where the key was to get into the property.

Bach in great location
Had a great time in takaka staying here. Great location for walks and other things in Golden Bay. Electric fry pan made cooking meals easy. Unfortunately there was a bit of an ant problem while we were there. However easily managed and didn't detract from our week holiday. Thanks Ali
