This apartment is close to our son and his family. We enjoy having his kids spend time with us while we visit from the states.

It was our first time in Dublin and we knew we did not want to stay in a hotel. We wanted to get the “local” feel. The property was perfect for what we needed. It was clean and the neighborhood was charming! We took taxis to and from the apartment, went to The Black Lion and bought our groceries from the Tesco Express.

Stayed here prior to our tour. Enjoyed the area. Host was very responsive to a question we had about the back door. We enjoyed the local pub while we are there!

My daughter and I spent a week touring in and around Dublin. This was close to public transportation both the tram and buses. We did feel cold in the flat most of the time we were there. Nice bathroom. Not much in the way of amenities. Kitchen appliances were sufficient and some groceries in the cupboard.

We found the place to be in a good location, handy to bus, tram, supermarkets etc.

A perfect spot in a great location. Well equipped kitchen. Beds were very comfy. Felt at home right away

The location wasn’t too far away from the rail/other main locations when we needed to drive. It was a good time 10/10 would recommend. Grainne was very quick to respond if I had questions

This property has everything three people need for a nice stay. It's also on a main bus route to city centre-- and a 5 minute walk in the other direction puts one on the Luas as another transportation option. The Black Lion down the street is a great place to eat a meal or just hang out. A Tesco Express is close by and just a bit farther is slightly larger Eurospar. Lovely.

The hosts were very responsive, greatly appreciate that! The apartment was clean and spacious, although we were in the bottom floor and could hear the footsteps of the apartment above quite loudly. It shouldn't be a problem as long as the visitors above aren't up late! The location was pretty good -- It was a 15 minute bus ride to the center of Dublin or about a €15 taxi ride. There are also local grocery stores and restaurants walking distance to the apartment.

A Real Dublin Neighborhood
It's next door to a church and school, half a block from a grocery store and bus stop, 2 blocks from the tram. It's a real neighborhood where people live, not full of short term rentals and tourists. We liked it a lot. DEFINITELY take them up on the offer to reserve a driver from the airport. Rory is the driver, and he already knew how to get the key and where our apartment was, which was extremely helpful, so he didn't just leave before we got inside. I don't love standing in front of a building I don't know fumbling with the app on my phone and the lockbox and my luggage when I'm traveling with kids.

Out of the way...confusing...
Everyone travels overnight to get to their destinations, wanting a hot shower and a comfortable room. We arrived to a cold room and no hot water a double? bed and no help in fixing for several hours. We were moved to smaller room that did have heat and water but one of us had to sleep on a couch because the bed was so small. Just figuring how to turn on the lights was time consuming. Our unit's amenities did not include a coffee machine, but we eventually learned how to use the coffee press, we had to go out and purchase shampoo and body soap. When someone was using hot water the "tank?" made loud noises in the living room which was annoying to the person relegated to the couch or just watching TV. Grainne and her husband were accessible and eventually sent people to help. The neighborhood was friendly but we were really isolated as to getting around. The hop on hop off was quite crowded, the taxis were a bit expensive. It was wonderful to be able to email and communicate with Grainne before arrival. We were picked up and dropped off at the airport by Rory who was quite helpful. We wish that we were met by someone who 'cared'. We were given early access but waited several uncomfortable hours to get warm and have a hot shower. The apartments were clean, the linens were old but clean. We would not return here, but stay in a more central location. We love the freedom of having a kitchen and sitting room but in this instance we would have chosen a hotel in a central location with hot water and bigger beds. Grannie was very nice in refunding one nights rent as we made a mistake and included in the total the night we were in flight. We did get our deposit returned after a week. Wish someone would have given us this information, hope it helps someone else.

Fantastic 2-week stay in this apartment in Inchicore, providing a village experience within the larger Dublin area. What made this an excellent housing choice was the ability to leisurely explore what Dublin has to offer, its people and places. A hotel room would never serve this purpose for us. We made extensive use of the bus and tram system almost at our doorstep to get into the center of Dublin. We also enjoyed walking the local areas, including the gardens and Museum of Modern Art at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, the Kilmainham Gaol, and the War Memorial gardens. The apartment (one of four) was well decorated, very clean, and maintained. We enjoyed regular contact with Valerie, the local manager, who provided helpful information about the area and looked after any of our needs. She is a great example of the Irish hospitality that we found throughout our 3-week holiday in Ireland. We cooked in often and also enjoyed the excellent local Italian restaurant (Enoteca Torino) and a place for a quick lunch across the street from the Kilmainham Gaol (Lime Tree). Great places for dinner in Dublin included Chapter One (an excellent pre-theater splurge) and L Mulligan Grocer, a pub with great food.We have used HomeAway many times over the years to find the perfect living arrangement for us and have always been delighted with our choice.

The flat has pretty much everything one needs for a comfy stay. It is very conveniently located with bus stops and grocery store nearby. It seems to be efficiently managed without the fussiness. There is a kindergarten or daycare next door. If you head out early for your days of exploring before the kids get there, you'd not know it is there; it's nothing that a set of double pane windows can't fix.Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

Very nice place, just needs a little upgrading. Location good for transportation. Floors very loud.
This place has above average potential if it had a few upgrades. First and most try to rent the up stairs flat. From the ground floor you can hear every step by the above guest. I'm sure this is due to the old building, The place is abit smaller than it appears in the foto butIt has had a very nice upgrade to the bath, however the shower is missing caulking and some mold was present. No real problems! The location is perfect for catching the local transportation with local eateries & food stores nearby. Our on site host (Valerie) was fantastic who knew the area very well and led us in the right direction every time. She checked on us every day to see if we needed anything. The place was very quiet with little traffic. The bed could be improved abit due to its single mattrice but we did sleep pretty well due to the fact we we're extremely tired after a full day of activitys. I would give this place a diamond in the rough.

Great apartment; great hosts!
The apartment was clean and ready for us early; Grainne was most accommodating! She went out of her way to be sure we had everything we needed, and helped us with great suggestions and directions. Would definitely stay there again!

Charming Apartment and Great Location for Exploring Dublin
My husband and I spent 4 days in Dublin to celebrate our wedding anniversary and always prefer to stay in a "home" rather than the standard hotel. The apartment here was perfect and as advertised---- clean, charming, comfortable and easy to get around via the Luas tram and bus. The Inchicore area itself was nice and we loved being next to the church and just a few minutes from the food market, The Black Lion pub and an excellent Italian restaurant. We also were within walking distance of the Kilmainham Gaol and the Guinness Storehouse. The owners made arrangements to have us picked up at the airport and Rory was waiting for us upon our 5:30 am arrival. After flying all night, it was nice to be greeted by such a friendly person who made us feel instantly comfortable. Valerie (the apartment manager) also met us and gave us some helpful tips and other highlights to explore in the city. The apartment was equipped with free Wi-Fi which made it easy for us to make arrangements, check e-mail, etc. All in all, it was a lovely stay and we would highly recommend it. The only minor complaint was the bed was a little hard for our taste. That said, we slept well each night after full days of exploring! Thanks again for making this a wonderful trip.

Perfect family holiday home
Excellent communication with Tim and Grannie before we arrived with detailed and clear instructions. Upon arrival we were pleased with all facets of the home. It had everything we needed for our family and was central to shops and transport. The best part was Valerie and her friendly and informative tips for exploring the wonderful city of Dublin. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone!

Nice apartment.
Very nice and clean apartment. Valerie, who greeted us, was very helpful. We had a small problem that was solved quickly and efficiently. Really recommend the Italian restaurant down the rd for a meal close to home. About an hour walk into Dublin, which we did one day. The tram is close and convenient to get into Dublin.

Warm, welcoming, 10/10 would recommend
I stayed in the Grace Gifford cottage with my husband and we found the apartment to suit our needs perfectly. The property was safe, private and very well kept. Everything in the apartment was pristine and polished to the last. We found the location to be excellent, as it was easily accessible with public transport. The owners and their neighbour were more than helpful, answering any queries we had immediately.
I would highly recommend staying here and am looking forward to my next visit!
I would like to thank the staff for being so friendly and helping us make the most out of our trip to Dublin

"Lipstick on a Pig" - fooled by beautiful photos, lovely decorating, but a filthy kitchen
We booked the "Grace Gifford Cottage". We arrived after 8pm to an unpleasant musky odor. We called the owner regarding issues with the oven heating as well as filthy dishes and the dishwasher filter that was clogged with rotting food and broken glass. The owner apologized for the dirty dishes and explained she had a different cleaning lady then usual but that she should have checked the kitchen better. She explained that they were out of town and that she would send a neighbor over regarding the oven. The neighbor arrived and he started fixing the hot water? We explained we didn't have a hot water concern, it was the oven. Apparently, it is just really slow to heat. Our daughter came out of the shower to say the water was cold. Our son then said he took a cold shower. We followed the directions in the instruction manual and no hot water. Clearly, the neighbor has had to help with the hot water situation in the past - he had also informed us that the owners were out of town at a funeral. I took photos of all of the filth issues in the kitchen and after boiling water to wash dishes as there was no hot water I spent over an hour cleaning to prevent my family getting communicable diseases such as hepatitis. As there was no hot water my husband and I we were not able to shower. At 11:44 pm I sent an email to the owner with photos of the filth, informed of the time I had to clean and the hot water issue. I expressed that I had heard they were out of town for a funeral and that I was sorry for their loss. The following day we did receive an email that upon arriving at the end of our day to call one of there staff who would help with the hot water. The staff apologized for the kitchen and said it was no way to start a vacation. A plumber was arranged for the following day. We were not able to meet with the owners until the morning of July 24. I inquired as to compensation for the filthy kitchen as well as there not being hot water for 2 days. The female owner offered the refund of the cleaning fee. I expressed it was not acceptable, I would expect 1-2 days return of the rental fee. I further stated that we had been more then understanding and respectful of their situation given their being out of town at a funeral. She disagreed and deferred the decision. Her husband was more understanding and refunded 1 nights fees. The Grace Gifford Cottage was not what we expected and we were not invited to review the rental.

Comfortable apartment with parking is a great base to explore Dublin
We had a great stay in the “Michael Collins” apartment and enjoyed our time in Dublin. The owners gave a great set of check in instructions, including directions from the airport to the private parking yard (very convenient). Check-in using the keysafe is easy and convenient. Note that the pictures show two similar but different apartments that are in the same building, but you can figure out which is which as some are labeled and they are very similar anyway. The apartment is nice, comfortable and just as described. The old building and its high ceilings and great crown moldings are very cool. The washer and dryer are in a separate room off the bathroom which is very convenient. The heating is a bit confusing at first (there is a unconnected timer which the owners told me would soon be removed or covered), but I quickly figured out that the radiator valves were just all closed, I opened them and everything worked fine from there. The wifi was great. There can be a little noise when people are moving in the upstairs apartment, not surprising in an old building, but it did not cause any problem sleeping at night. The neighborhood is convenient with small markets in easy walking distance. The Italian restaurant just down the street a few doors past the Black Lion pub is HIGHLY recommended. We had a great dinner there. The kids loved it, and the pizza, pasta and ambiance were all outstanding. This was a great base to explore Dublin for a few days and we would be happy to stay there again.

Wonderful apartment
We brought our soon-to-be 13 year old grandson to Dublin to celebrate his upcoming birthday; the Michael Collins apartment was perfect for the three of us. From my first contact with owner Grainne, our experience was lovely!
The unit is quite large with a full kitchen where I cooked several meals. Lots of room for our grandson to spread out - comfy beds, a pull-out couch. Free WiFi was a bonus and we watched several Euro Cup matches on the telly. It's a comfy, cozy "home away from home" and had everything we needed.
The unit features a sitting room, dining area, master bedroom and a large, attractive bathroom; a W/D on site was an extra bonus. The furnishings are modern and tasteful. This traditional brick home built in the 1800's has been updated and modernized yet still retains old country charm.
The neighborhood is a working-class village with a good pub, The Black Lion, which we enjoyed very much. There are several markets nearby, banking and postal shops, and small take-away food stands. Best of all, the transportation options into Dublin are very close - we used the Red Line Luas tram and the local Dublin bus to get around with ease.
Our stay was really enhanced by Valerie, the on-site property manager. She was lovely! She met us our first night, checked in with us throughout our stay and offered many suggestions. She quickly became our new Irish friend!
Rory, our transport from the airport, was a wonderful help as well, and provided additional services to us throughout our stay. The warmth of everyone associated with this property made our stay truly wonderful.
There are several units in this building; we were on the bottom floor and as any old building, there were creaks and footfalls above us. Valerie was always available to smooth out any issues and all the other guests during our stay were quiet and respectful. There's a school adjacent to the property and it was fun to watch/hear the little ones at play in the morning. Beautiful Catholic church next door, with a lovely park behind. (Rosary Walk)
We're so delighted with our stay at the Michael Collins apartment. Thank you Grainne and Tim for your lovely hospitality - we hope to visit again soon!

Great,clean and spacious apartments!
When we arrived the key was not in the box but as soon as I phoned up about it the neighbour Valerie was straight over to let us in, she was very helpful (and extremely friendly) in telling us how to get to places in the city which is only a short bus ride straight along from the apartment. It is in a great location with a tesco and spar across the road. The apartment itself was very clean and fitted with everything needed to self cater for the duration of our stay. Comfortable beds, great bathroom and has a washing machine and tumble dryer. Worth every penny!

Beautiful, clean flat in great location. Great owner's will take good care of you.
The flat was everything we expected and more. You can tell that it was put together with the comfort of the traveler in mind. It has everything you could need, including washer and dryer. Very clean, very comfortable, great location. Two groceries, pharmacies, restaurants within a 10 minute walk. We visited the Black Lion Pub and the Italian restaurant recommended by the owner's care taker, Valerie. The Italian restaurant is absolutely wonderful, the owner is right on top of everything, we ate there 2 of the 4 nights we were in Dublin. The Pub was the perfect place to stop for drinks before dinner. Valerie checked on the property during our stay to make sure everything was working, IE heater.
We used the LUAS for transportation around the city and that worked very well, the stop for the flat is only 15 minutes away by the Black Horse Pub. We would love to come back to Dublin, and would certainly stay in this flat, will recommend it to all our friends.

Absolutely perfect "home away from home"!!
My wife and I were guests in the Padraig Pearse unit for 8 nights in October 2015. We had everything at our finger tips from grocery stores to restaurants to the transit system; all no more than a five minute walk. We even had a Catholic Church basically in the back yard. The listing was very accurate and exactly as described. Thank you Valerie for being an exceptional host and for checking up on us daily. Thanks also to Rory for transporting us from and back to the airport.
To the owners Grainne and Tim, thank you for allowing us to make the Padraig Pearse our "home away from home" during our visit to Dublin and we hope to be back sooner than later.
We highly recommend this property.

Even better than expected
Our stay in the Michael Collins apartment was great. The apartment was bigger than I expected and decorated beautifully. It is located very conveniently to the LUAS (tram) which we used extensively. By the end of the week we were popping on and off daily to go to the centre of town. The buses were also conveniently located and run frequently. Dublin has a great transit system.
The apartment is also conveniently located to 2 grocery stores and a coffee shop (Insomnia) but most important (smile) it is near the Black Lion pub which was our go to spot for Guinness and casual dining. The people at the pub are very friendly and the locals introduced us to the horse races.
Because this is important to me, I have to mention that the wifi worked well too.
I will definitely be coming back to the apartment and the neighbourhood.

Wonderful stay!
Our family of 5 stayed for 9 days in June, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Everything was just as it was shown in the pictures, and the apartment appeared to have been recently updated in a very upscale way! It was incredibly clean, and everything that we could have pissibly needed was supplied. The apartment was spacious, and the hists were very helpful. The location was great--we bought the Luas pass and used it everyday to get to the city center (Luas stop really is just a 5 minute walk from the apartment). Grocery stores were just a block or 2 away, and the neighborhood felt very safe.
We weee very pleased with our stay!

reasonable price, decent location, quiet apartment, good neighborhood with a lovely church, easy commute to city center, a few steps away from city bus and tram, lovely landlady who attends to all details. backyard is peaceful with pretty plants/flowers :-) my daughter and I stayed in Grannie's apartment and truly enjoyed it.

Our stay was perfect. We have used VRBO at least 8 times and this was one of the best. You can't find a cleaner apartment that was beautifully furnished with everything we needed. My daughter and I travel at least once yearly to Europe and this was a lovely week at the end of a 20 day cruise. Location was perfect outside of Dublin proper and transportation was very convenient. I suggest anyone going here should buy a multi-day pass for the Luas. The local supermarket had everything we needed. I highly recommend this fine property. Our only negative was the fact that we only had a week there!

Cosy and nice apartment for a good price
We stayed in the apartment for 7 days (family with 3 children). Nice furniture, clean, everything perfect.
Home owners were very friendly and everything asked for was organized immediately. We felt at home and come back when the weather is warmer.

We have been over a long weekend in Dublin and stayed at this apartment. We were in the city centre with the lua or the bus very easy and quick. The apartment was very clean and in the kitchen we found everything (toaster, coffeemaker, microwave and and..). The owner is very friendly, he organized us everything for a pleasant stay. He kept in touch with us via email and we got every answer within minutes. 5 stars for this price, we will come again!

5 of us stayed in the apartment for about 6 weeks. Although the kitchen, living room and bedroom was a 3-in-1 room, the whole apartment was very cosy and nice (: The toilet is very spacious as well.
The apartment was at a convenient location - bus stop with bus to city centre nearby, a few supermarkets nearby and, st james hospital.
The home owners and neighbours were very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

We stayed in the Parnell studio for 4 days and found it very comfortable, albeit a little smaller than it looks in the photo. The location was good - very easy to get to by car and excellent for city bus service or LUAS tram. Parking is great and very secure. Apartment was cozy and bathroom lovely. Some of the dishes and cooking equipment had been moved to other apartments by previous tenants and not replaced, but this issue was fixed immediately on email to Grainne. Great place to stay.

We recently booked a few days in Dublin and stayed in the Michael Collins apartment, we were very happy with the accommodation and the level of amenities in the flat. It is well situated for easy travel into the city and close to shops and restaurants but still a quiet location. Brendon took us in his taxi from and to the airport and was a font of knowledge for our stay, thank you Tim and Grainne.
