A perfect place to set up your remote office (with high-speed Wi-Fi), or unplug and connect with friends and outdoor activities. This large cabin is built with sweeping views and has a wrap-around deck, a great room, and a large, fully-equipped kitchen.
Located above the town of Twin Lakes with mountain and lake views, on secluded sunny acreage. Close to hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing trails, with fishing, boating, paddle boarding, and kayaking on the lake. A 40-minute drive to Aspen in the Summer months where you can explore galleries and restaurants.
Take an unforgettable hike around the lake to discover Interlaken, one of the most popular resorts in the 1890s. Interlaken's Dexter cabin is open to the public and offers the chance to explore life at the turn of the century.
This spacious and modern log home is a wonderful oasis for families, book clubs, athletes, trainers, or small groups. The second floor has three family-style bedrooms and a large bathroom, with two sinks, a tub/shower, and a toilet. Our guests agree this cabin is ideal for groups with multiple interests! Enjoy easy access to family hiking and mountain-biking trails and serious hikers are close to La Plata Peak and Mt. Elbert trailhead. The cabin is located at the midway point of the famous Leadville 100 Ultra Run and you are ¼ mile from the famous Colorado Trail. The lake is a short walk through town and has nice sandy beaches, high mountain lake fishing, and beautiful open views. Fly-fishing is popular on the Arkansas River and the best river rafting in Colorado is located in Buena Vista and Salida (30 miles away). Historic Leadville is 28 miles away. In the winter, enjoy snowshoeing, and alpine and cross-country skiing. Cross-country skiing trails are close by in the winter up Independence Pass or South Fork with groomed flat trails in Leadville. Snowshoeing for multiple abilities is available out the door. A fun (but safe) sledding hill is located right outside the cabin. The views from the deck are incredible - you can see the lake and Mt Elbert. You can walk from the house across the main road to the lake waking path entrance in just a few minutes. The house is very private - you aren’t that far from town (you can see it from the driveway) but there are no immediate neighboring houses from the main views so it feels very private.
By far my favorite experience was taking the short 15-20 min drive to Independence Pass. Truly most beautiful place on earth.
We had two families with kids staying for a long weekend and the huge kitchen table was great for our spaghetti night and playing games with the kids. Plenty of beds and rooms so with 8 people we were very comfortable.
I’d definitely come back with more family or friends.

The house and its location is absolutely stunning. Our family had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the views. We had a very easy check in and check out process and our hosts were very friendly, responsive, and helpful. Definitely recommend staying here!

We loved our stay here! Everything was as described or better and the hosts were extremely helpful. 4 nights went by way too quick but we’d definitely return again. The little community of Twin Lakes was the exact, non-ski resort pace we were seeking. This was the best stocked kitchen of any VRBO I’ve rented and there’s an awesome puzzle selection. Perfectly located to access great hikes from Independence Pass, rafting in Buena Vista, walk to the the lakes or just roam around the property.

We had 8 adults stay very comfortably at this very large cabin. The bedrooms are all large and the kitchen/living room was plenty large for our entire group to spend time together. The views from the deck (and pretty much every window) are the reason we went to Colorado. Brian was very easy to communicate with and I will try to book this cabin again if we return to the area

Great spot!
Morning coffees in a beautiful log cabin surrounded by stunning artwork and mountains, doesn’t get any better!
We historically stay in downtown Leadville for close access to Cooper, but we decided to try something new. So glad we did! Hope to be back to enjoy the wrap around deck.

Great Cabin!
The cabin was very comfortable, even for 6 guys on a fishing trip. The kitchen was better supplied than my home kitchen is. The rest of the house was well supplied and perfect. We had no trouble finding the place and the driveway was easy, even with some snow pack. We all slept comfortably too. I would love to stay here again!

Great Family Getaway
This is our second vacation at this property. The cabin is cozy and has everything you need to be comfortable. The views are killer, the available hiking is abundant and lovely - and offers hikes from beginner to expert. The fact that dogs are allowed is the clincher for us. The only thing that is a slight negative for me is the firmness of the beds. Sort of like slightly softened concrete. I hate to say anything bad about the property, but just want to warn soft bed lovers like me that they're pretty stiff.

Wonderful mountain & lake retreat.
Gorgeous, comfortable, spacious, and perfectly located in the tiny but beautiful town of Twin Lakes. Host communications were excellent. We used the house as the base to hike Maroon Bells, Interlaken, Linkins Lake trails... We will most definitely be back to explore more of the surrounding areas and towns.

Lovely cabin set in a beautiful location
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The mountain setting was amazing. The cabin was sey up well. The room in the cupola was fun for our older kids and the cute toy room was enjoyed by our little ones. We hiked the trails by the cabin, enjoyed a local tubing hill, and also made a couple of trips to Ski Cooper. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Perfect Winter Getaway!
This mountain cabin was exactly what we needed after an especially difficult 2020! The location was perfect, with beautiful hikes and photographic scenery all around.
The cabin itself is so nice, cozy and clean! It literally has anything and everything you could possibly need during your stay. They truly thought of everything! It was just like being at home...with little personal touches and a deep personal connection with the Twin Lakes area and history, which made it feel extra special.
I can’t say enough about the wrap around porches, the outdoor seating areas, the amazing fire pit, and outdoor swing. The views throughout the cabin from each room are amazing. Also the wood stove made the whole living area feel so warm and cozy, and the wood and fire starting material are very well stocked and plentiful!
We bought groceries in Leadville before check in and never had to leave the town of Twin Lakes during our stay, except for a snowmobiling excursion in the area. The hike to Interlaken was so beautiful, as was our hike toward the pass, with some beautiful views all along the way. It is also a beautiful drive up with many scenic stopping points. It was truly a relaxing, yet adventurous stay! Stress free without crowds or traffic in the area. Just perfect!
Brian and Lisa were perfect hosts and were great communicators, so quick to answer questions, and so accommodating to help us arrange staying an extra night!
We would most definitely return again any time of the year! A little slice of heaven on earth!

Amazing property with some of the most stunning views of the Rockies. Secluded, yet close enough to main roads to make it a convenient drive to nearby resorts. Kids loved it, we loved it. We will be back!

Can’t wait to come back!
We had the BEST getaway in this cabin, the views are outstanding and the cabin set up was absolutely perfect for our family. The kids had a great time playing in the playroom upstairs, while the adults relaxed downstairs either watching movies or taking in the breathtaking views. We enjoyed exploring and hiking near the cabin, and the kids and adults alike loved sledding, as well as swinging on the swing in the yard.
We really enjoyed our stay, and we will definitely be back, hopefully sooner than later!

Great Experience
We really enjoyed our stay. Awesome location, amazing views, and very well equipped allowing a very stress free time. Communication was quick, accurate and friendly — clear and easy instructions on property access and how things work. Experienced all Colorado seasons/temperatures within our visit and stayed comfortable and cozy throughout the whole time. Big thanks again for the warm welcome and quality experience. Highly recommend.

Perfect Family Cabin with Stunning Views
This beautiful spacious cabin retreat has plenty of room for a large family. The great room which features a comfy living space, large dining table for late night board games and roomy, fully equipped kitchen space was perfect for our large family. The wrap around deck offers stunning views of Twin Lakes and mountain peaks with safety rail and protective mesh for little ones to play. There is plenty of hiking opportunities on the property and the short drive to Twin Lakes was a welcome opportunity to fish, hike and picnic. The fall foliage was a special treat in this area and we can't wait to see what the summer will bring.

Mountain getaway
This cabin was perfect for our family pandemic vacation. It’s located in a stunning area where every direction offers breathtaking views of majestic peaks, the clear lakes, and hillsides covered in pines and changing aspen. There are numerous hiking trails straight from the cabin, or short drives away. Aspen isn’t far and offers shopping, hiking, gondola rides (dogs are allowed on the gondola!), and more. There are mountain bike trails and boat rentals too. The tiny village is walking distance (so convenient), and has a really cute store with fun trinkets and some basic supplies. There’s a cute little VW Bus coffee/burrito stand and a surprisingly well-stocked art gallery as well.
The cabin itself was a very good size for our group of 8. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking anything you want. We brought extra coolers to hold overflow supplies since we had to bring food for so many people. The family room holds 7 comfortably. No cable tv, but literally hundreds of DVDs to choose from, and it’s a Samsung TV which can smartcast with an Android phone. Decent AT&T and Verizon cell service at the cabin and surrounding areas. Could hotspot well enough to do Zoom calls. The deck is comfy and offers spectacular views. There’s also a swing and fire pit. And there’s a propane grill on the deck. Beds are comfy and towels are clean and fluffy. Nice views from every bedroom.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and would definitely return!!

Colorado getaway
This was a lovely cabin away from the hustle and bustle of a town. It is tucked into the woods with all of the amenities that you need. The owners were extremely helpful and easy to reach. There was an issue with the dryer, but the owner tried to take care of it right away. There were 8 in our group and there was plenty of space for all of us. It is located in a great area of Colorado, driving distance to several towns. Plenty of hiking trails, and access to the lakes. I would definitely stay here again.

Great mountain getaway!
My friends and I booked this property for a golf trip planned this summer. It was the perfect location in between the two courses we played. The home had everything we needed (fully stocked kitchen, plenty of firewood for the wood burning fireplace and the fire pit outside, and enough beds for All of our guests) and more than we were expecting! Brian was a great host and checked in with me multiple times prior to the check in date, as well as the date we arrived to make sure we got in smoothly.
The only piece of criticism was when we left to drop our few trash bags at the local town dumpster. The code provided was wrong and my friend was given an earful by a local person about using the town dumpster (even though it was recommended for trash disposal by the owner)
Other than this minor piece, I would strongly recommend the twin lakes cabin for larger groups who want a peaceful, scenic getaway in the mountains!

Stunning Views
This place was amazing! The property manager was great to work with, the place was clean and kid friendly. The views were absolutely the best part. The wrap around deck really allowed for some epic sunsets and relaxation. Very close to the general store and fishing spots. We had a great time! Thank you!

Great place to get away!
This property has a unique setting and is a true cabin! it has a winding driveway up to an elevated location nestled in the trees and a wonderful view of the mountain ranges in the back ground. If you're looking for a place to get away and find some peace, quiet, and solitude then this is a good one. If you're staying during the winter, it is imperative that you verify that the driveway is fully plowed up to the house and that you have an all wheel or 4 wheel drive vehicle. If that is the case, then you shouldn't have a problem. But in my opinion, its the drive way and access to this location that make the cabin fantastic. It truly is a private get away. It's log construction, low ceiling with log beams, and wood burning stove offer a cozy, warm feeling and a sense of togetherness. the bed rooms are very unique with sloped ceilings and bunk beds placed in nooks and crannies, which my kids loved! it offered something unique and different which was part of their sense of adventure on the trip. We all really enjoyed the metal ladder up to the observation loft. It had spectacular views of the Twin Lakes area. It was a great place for the kids to escape to and have their own fun, and would be a great place for the adults to meditate or catch up on reading or journaling. If youre looking for a true get away then this cabin would be a very good choice. If convenience and accessability to the day to day things are more important than being remote, then this house, or the twin lakes area in general may not be your preferred choice. For us, we are attracted to the idea of being away from the over populated resort areas of Colorado so we would recommend this property.

No Wifi - NO PROBLEM - This place is TOTALLY worth that "inconvenience"
We visited this Twin Lakes cabin with another family for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. It was serene. We were a group of 5 adults and 5 children. There was ample space for everyone to sleep comfortably and spread out throughout the day without being on top of one another. Our kids' ages range from 3-12, and each of them enjoyed the place in different ways. The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking tools needed along with an amazing assortment of spices and herbs. The house is also stocked with various "things" you inevitably need when on vacation, but forget to bring along (bug spray, laundry detergent, paper towels, feminine products etc.). There are ample towels and linens if extras are needed. The couch in the main room was very comfortable - and in fact, provided a space for napping. The outdoor areas are amazing for the view and comfort. There are 4 fun colored chairs on the deck for lounging right outside the kitchen area, a safe fire pit with the world's most enormous boulder for back support, a makeshift playground area, a super cool swing, and (my personal favorite) a bench a little ways up the hill placed perfectly for sipping a cup of coffee while savoring the moment of being alive in that particular space and time . . .seriously divine. There are hiking trails right outside the door and an adorable little "downtown" area with fairly priced necessities at the general store and decent coffee and breakfast burritos at the yellow hippie VW bus. Our families did venture into Vail and Aspen while we were staying at the cabin, and the whole time we were wishing we were just back at the cabin because both ski resorts (though very drivable and fine on their own) were taking time away from our enjoyment of the cabin and our purpose of going there in the first place. For closer exploration, we took the kids to the "beach" areas of the lakes. They actually submerged their bodies despite the very chilly temperatures, skipped about a thousand rocks, dug in the sand, and explored the area amidst the beautiful backdrop the adults enjoyed while supervising! We planned well, but we still had to make a trek into Leadville's Safeway grocery store which was not too bad of a drive. The owners were absolutely wonderful in all communications before, during, and at the end of our trip. I am hoping that my honest review will earn us another opportunity to enjoy the space in the future! One more important note: There is no wifi, but that's OK.

Perfect cabin for extended family stay
My family, my siblings and their families wanted a place where we could all be together for two nights in the mountains near Mount Elbert, and this cabin worked out perfectly for us. Not only was the location great; even better was the configuration of the cabin. The large kitchen area with plenty of counter space for preparing and serving food worked well. With the large table, we could seat a big group for dinner or card games. The couch and chairs seated many others. And those who preferred to enjoy the outdoors, the large wrap around deck was great. All-in-all, we found everything we wanted, and more. The owners were prompt to respond to questions, and very easy to work with. The cabin was very clean and well cared for. The beds were comfy. The kitchen well stocked. We would absolutely love to stay here again, and already talked about a repeat of our hike for next year.

Amazing Family Thanksgiving!
The Thanksgiving Holiday was one i will treasure for a very long time! Kids, Grandkids, our furry friends all had a great time. Hikes, Sledding, Tracking Tracks, the swing, perfectly placed benches, clubhouse (inside and out) and perfect quiet except for the sounds of the breeze. The layout was perfect for sharing time at the table playing games, eating and just talking, the kids room and hideaway playroom was great for their escape. I could go on but the bottom line is that it met all of our expectations for a perfect, relaxing holiday together! Thanks so much for sharing your perfect spot!

Wonderful mountain retreat with excellent views!
We could not be happier with our selection of this property for our "sister's" vacation. It was perfect and we felt right at home. It is so close to the trails, Aspen, Denver, BV, Leadville, rafting and the list goes on and on. Waking up each morning to the georgeous views was delightful. And the cabin was filled with anything anyone could possibly need or want. We were all extremely pleased and cannot wait to return...hopefully when the Aspens are showing their beautiful golden colors!
