We enjoyed staying at the bungalow for hiking, closeness to town, the General Store and dinner at the Twin Lakes Inn. The house had everything we needed to cook meals and to be comfortable.
We love the front porch.

I was very happy with my solo stay at this historic home. It had everything I needed -- especially good wifi for work. The house sleeps four and has one bathroom. Staying alone, I was obviously fine. Loved the location. If I had one suggestion, it would be brighter light bulbs in the kitchen, but that's obviously minor. Easy process and great stay - highly recommend!

We stayed here for the Leadville 100 Run and it couldn't be a more convenient location. House was just as described and the host made the check in process very easy. Thank you!

This is a cute, clean property. It was easy to find directions from Google Maps.
We stayed here overnight before climbing Mt. Elbert, which the South trailhead was just a 7-minute drive from the house.
The host was very responsive to my questions and I was all set when I got there. I recommend this place.

The home was very comfortable for my husband and I. We appreciated the King bed and wood stove at the end of the day

I stayed for 2 nights while visiting friends in Colorado. The house had everything I needed. The view of the mountains from the front porch is beautiful. The house is within walking distance of the restaurants and shops in town. I especially appreciated that the beds are comfortable. I was well rested. I would definitely reserve this house again if I am in the area.

Booked the bungalow for a father/son fishing trip. Lisa was patient answering my questions and provided us some great local tips. Dinner at the Surf Hotel was amazing and a nice refuge from cooking trout every night!
The house was clean and well appointed with everything we needed. I highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to explore the Twin Lakes area.

Had never heard of Twin Lakes before spending the weekend in this delightful space. Wonderful way to meet some new mountains and see an unspoiled bit of Colorado history. Love the front porch in the morning and evening!

We are repeat customers and have stayed in this lovely house about three times now. It is very convenient to the store and restaurant, within walking distance. It is so nice to take a walk early morning and evening and take in the views. We enjoy barbecuing and this time used the coal cooker. The house is stalked with just about everything you need. We enjoy sitting on the front porch after a long day of fishing. Will come back because we just love Twin Lakes.

We really enjoyed our stay at this bungalow...it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Really great place!
Not sure if the plumbing is simply tricky or if a roto-rooter could help, but we had to use the plunger A LOT. Also...many of the pots and pans are damaged and scratched (could use replacing), and please consider using fragrance-free (or lightly scented) laundry detergent on sheets and towels.
Overall, this is a great place and we really enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I really love this place! It is stocked with everything you can imagine. This house is stocked with more things than most VRBOs. We really enjoyed the front porch. We sat on the porch and had some drinks before dinner as the sun started to subside. We took a nice walk early the next morning to check out all the beautiful cabins in the area before we headed to the lake. We made reservations at the Inn, one of our favorite places. It is such an easy walk to the restaurant and nice not having to drive. We grilled one night on the back patio which is charming. The whole house is charming. We watched one of your movies which we really enjoyed. I even played one of your CDs in the kitchen. It took me back, so nostalgic! I really appreciate your place and we will be back. So many times, we have walked past your house and had no idea it was a VRBO. This is the perfect place for outdoorsy people. So many lakes to fish and trails to hike. I noticed that under one of the beds is a dog bed. Now I know for the next time. We did not need to use the stove as the heater was plenty to warm up the house. It is so nicely decorated, just a warm, charming house overall. Thank you so much for making this home such a warm and inviting place to stay. We are looking forward to coming back. Heid and James

My wife and I needed an overnight stay close to Mt Elbert Trailhead and this property was perfect for our q(too) quick stay. We enjoyed how close we were to the Twin Lakes Inn where we enjoyed a hearty meal on the night before our hike. Then, with the home being just 15-20 minutes from the 4WD South Trailhead, we were able to sleep in a little longer than we 1st thought (blessings!). The property itself was just what we needed. A nice, quiet spot to rest before the hike. It had all that we needed and was quaint, clean, and comfortable. We are thinking of coming back when we can enjoy it a little longer. Thankful for the hospitality!

If you want to feel right at home in the Colorado Rockies, this quite town is it! Super friendly people and a quick drive to numbers of trails. The cabin was clean and has a historical feel to it. I didn’t want to leave. Would 100% recommend!

I live about two hours drive from Twin Lakes. Staying here shortened my drive time to my favorite lakes considerably. It's only a five minute drive to launch a self propelled craft or twenty-five minutes drive to turquoise lake. That meant I could spend mornings on the lake without getting up at 4am.
The house is on a quiet street with a few amenities nearby - an art shop, two food trucks, a general store and a restaurant. It was nice to be able to grab a coffee and burrito on my way to the lake.
The cottage itself was pleasant and quirky in the way victorian's frequently are - with canted floors and creaky doors. It was well stocked and fulfilled our expectations. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Great place for a short winter retreat
Stayed in February, the small village is pretty much entirely closed which is great because it is so quiet! Internet worked well at the house so I could get some work done with video and audio calls. AT&T had signal in town as well. Short drive into leadville for grocery. Look forward to visiting again!

Comfortable and quiet Victorian cottage
It is a cute Victorian cottage, on a quiet street in the small village of Twin Lakes. The kitchen and bathroom have been remodeled and are modern. The kitchen is well equipped, although the pans are scratched Teflon. (This is often the case in mountain rentals.) The living room sofa and recliners were quite comfortable. The front porch is pleasant for sitting and drinking coffee in the sun, and there is a pleasant patio in back. The location is excellent. There are lovely hiking trails within a few miles of Twin Lakes. The beds are unusually high and very firm.
The furnace did not heat properly - The kitchen and utility room would be warm and the living room and master bedroom cold, even when following the note on the bedroom closet which said to leave the closet door open. We found that the heating vent on the ceiling of the bedroom was closed, but could not open it without a ladder. This was not a major problem, as it was not that cold at night, we just turned up the heat and left the bedroom door open. Of course, you could also build a fire in the wood stove. There were a few things that we found odd, besides putting a note on the closet door rather than fixing the heating vent. There were clothes in the closet - presumably this is a seasonal rental, but normally those would be removed before renting out. Also, we were asked to haul our trash to the community dumpster - which I thought an odd request, since we had paid a considerable cleaning fee when we rented.
Twin Lakes is such a beautiful place that these annoyances are relatively minor, and we would recommend this cottage.

Excellent location
The place is great. It is just a block from the main road and you can walk down to the lake. Bigger inside than we thought it would be. Very comfortable living room. Has satellite and internet TV (netflix, etc.). Also has Alexa. Internet was good and had ATT mobile service as well.
Outdoor space was wonderful. Front covered porch and back patio/yard. Parking is on the street in front, but very little traffic. Nice and quiet.
Be prepared to cook your meals. The Inn/Saloon didn't have any room to serve us even take out. Nearest other town/grocery is about 1/2 hr away.
Check in was easy and property manager was very responsive to any questions.

Cute bungalow!
Had a great time exploring the Tein Lakes area while staying at this conveniently located, well equipped bungalow. The General Store was steps away and the owner extremely personable and helpful. The Saloon/Inn served a wonderful dinner!
