Very nice, clean, and perfect location. Would recommend to my friends. Good communication with the host.

All was great and the property and owner were more then expected. Will definitely be returning!

Overall, we would recommend this place. Location is good, had what we needed to do some cooking and sleep - which is all we needed to do there. Used the hot tub and it was also nice after some long hiking days. Several of the beds do have shallow mattresses (3" or so) and so several people doubled those up before they were able to get comfy.
The one snafu is the water from all that taps and showers smelled of sulfur (rotten eggs) for half of our stay. The property manager did work quickly to remedy the issue by filling the empty water softener, but the first few days we showered, washed pans, etc. in that water, which was probably safe just stinky.
Property manager communicated well on the issue and the normal stuff. There is a "clean up" before you go list, but it isn't much compared to other places.

Very nice, well furnished home. Location and property is as was described, rustic. Initial communication problems with owner resolved. Warnings about bears were justified by seeing bears on the property twice in a six day stay. That made us very cautious about outdoor activities and prompted group participation.

We really enjoyed the house. It was clean and well kept. It was a good location to access the sites we wanted to see.

This cabin for this price is unbeatable for what it offers - amazing cabin with everything you need and in such a perfect location 5-10 minutes from Golden. I would recommend this to anyone hosting a large group.

The chefs enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen and the wood burning fireplace was great on chilly mornings. The hot tub, pool table, and foosball tables were a big hit with the dads and kids.

We had a great trip to Golden for our first ever 3 generational Family ski trip. Located about 23 minutes to the Ski Hill.... only 5 minutes to Golden itself.
There was a good amount of space for our family, the kitchen was a nice size for preparing meals and well equipped. The Wood stove was such a nice touch as it added a gentle warmth to the house. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and foosball as well. After a day slopes we really didn't have much energy left so it was early nights to get back out the next day.
Kyle is a great Host, answered my phone calls and was easy to get a hold of.
We are planning to do this trip again next Christmas, will be booking this property again. We are very happy with his property.

Location was great for the wedding venue a short drive away. The property was large enough for our two families and had all the things we needed. There are some things that need a bit of work/cleaning but overall was good for our large group.

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay for our family of 9 and a dog! 5 minutes drive from downtown Golden and conveniently located within 60 minutes of the National Parks (Banff, Yoho, Glacier, Kootney). we also made the most of teh local Mountain Bike Trails!
The house had everything we needed and the kids and parents loved the TV room and game room.
Cheers,

Great location - close to amenities in Golden.
House is nicely set up for a large group and fairly well-equipped. Thank goodness for the portable a/c and the floor/ceiling fans! Kids loved the zipline, slide/sprinkler; hot tub, and foosball.
Didn't use the outside firepit - couldn't quite figure out the logistics - which is okay because the weather was so hot . . .
Lovely stay. Would stay here again - family and friends loved it as well!

We had an amazing time with a few of our friends and family at Kyle's cabin. The views are spectacular and the home is beautiful. We enjoyed the basement game room as well as the kids and they also enjoyed the cool zip lining near the side of the house. The kids also enjoyed the cute hammocks and swing and always had something to do. The location is close enough to downtown Golden if you wanted to explore and get out for a bit. Kyle was very responsive as well. I highly recommend this stay to others. We had a lovely stay and hope to be back again.

Views were amazing...hot tub was top notch! A few things were not exactly as pictured...but the owner of the property was quick to address any issues. Owner of property was always available via text throughout the entire stay. A great property for large groups...house comes equipped with everything you could need to entertain...the home stereo system is an amazing touch.
Home is close to a busy highway, train tracks and there is a neighbor right next door...so the house is not as remote as the pictures portray. Neverthless, overall a great holiday spot!

Been here before so we knew what to expect. The views are amazing and the kids love the pool table and table football. Internet bandwidth is limited (although speed is fine) so if you need to amuse little ones then its a good idea to bring some content with you. It's a house that is spacious and comfortable and designed for enjoying the landscape with windows looking out at the mountains as well as a large deck and hammocks facing the mountains. The owner is friendly and responsive.

Excellent hidden gem near Golden and Kicking Horse
Terrific property and I consider this one a hidden gem - beautiful views, comfortable accommodation, and perks: the property has everything you could ask for in a mountain retreat home including fooseball tables, a pool table, in-house sound system, hot tub, great views, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Wonderful spot for retreats and getaways. If booking for a group of adults, I echo other reviewers' and would suggest 10-12 people at most, 14 would be quite crowded. Great spot, and the host's communication / reachability were the best I've ever had. Thank you so much!

Beautiful location, far enough in the wilderness but close enough to Golden.
Kyle the property owner was very concerned that we enjoyed our stay, and by this, his property was very clean and well supplied with amenities and entertainment. This comfort made our stay most enjoyable. Thanks Kyle

Great cabin in Golden
Extremely clean, well equipped cabin. Great views with hot tub and hammocks. Convenient location to explore Yoho and Banff. Only con was noise from trains.

Great place in a great location
This is such a great place to hang out inside with the pool table, fussball tables and lovely open-plan great room and such a great place to hang outside with hammocks, a fire-pit and amazing views over the valley. We will definitely book this place again.

Great house in great location
We stayed in Golden in June as a "homebase" for exploring the Canadian Rockies. Our family of 5 was very comfortable in the house that was equipped with a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of clean linens and lots of space. We paid the extra money for access to the game room in the basement which was well-worth the money. The owner was super-communicative and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. Can't recommend the town of Golden highly enough. Plenty of restaurants if you don't want to cook in the house, a nice grocery store, and well-situated geographically to make day trips to Revelstoke for the mountain coaster and Grizzly refuge to the West or Jasper, Columbia Ice Fields and Banff / Lake Louise to the East. Too, we had a great time hiking and enjoying lunch at Kicking Horse Resort which was an easy drive up the mountain. Overall, great location, great house and great stay!

Nice place with hot tub, close to kicking horse
Besides a couple minor cosmetic issues the place has everything you'll need to enjoy your stay. Kyle was easy to communicate with. No complaints.

Great view but too far
I was impressed with the view from the front porch, and the bathrooms were surprisingly big. The rooms are smaller than they appear and are very crowded with beds, so there isn't a lot of room to move around. The trains at night are very loud and kept waking us up, and the mosquitos kept coming in to bite us at night despite the screens. But the kids loved the smoke pit and the zip line. The hot tub was nice after a long day of hiking. The owner's email response time is great, and the house was well stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, towels, kitchen spices, condiments, etc. That was a plus, as the food in the grocery store was very expensive. The discount card for Save on Foods provided was very helpful. Although the cabin is close to the Kicking Horse lodge (with mountain biking, skiing, grizzly bear interpretative center, restaurants, etc.), it is a solid hour drive just to get to Lake Louise and to the exit to the Icefields Parkway. So if you are heading up to the Columbia Icefields, you have a good 3 hour drive ahead of you and about 5 hours to get to Jasper (with another hour drive to Maligne Lake, which we had to skip). Because of the crowds in the summer and the difficulty finding parking, being this far made it extremely difficult to get to any place before 9 a.m., at which point everything was packed. Luckily, the sun doesn't set in the summer till after 9 p.m., so we were able to hit some of the major attractions in the late afternoon when many of the tourists were leaving. Still, were we to do this trip again, we would be sure to pick a place more centrally located, because we did not enjoy having to drive such long distances every single day.

Great home for a family
The home was set up well for a family with bunk beds in 2 rooms and a king bed suite. There were toys for the kids. Kitchen was well appointed overall. Beds were comfy. Some taps & doorknobs were wobbly but still worked well enough. Views of the river & mountains were breath taking. A great location out of town but close enough for eating out & shopping. Host wasn’t present but did respond quickly to text messages with questions. Would stay again if planning to be in Golden.

Great home, well maintained and equipped.
Nicely updated. Very steep driveway so be cautious during winter months. Great outdoor space. Just outside town of golden.

A well set up home that easily fits 2 families for a few days.
8 of us stayed for 3 nights. The kitchen is huge and there is a good sleeping setup for multiple kids. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful views.

Great weekend and a nice property
We stayed here for a ski/snowboard trip. 10 Adults and a 4 night stay. We hit kicking horse mountain for 3 days and had a blast.
Overall we quite enjoyed the location, house, and hot tub. The house was clean and as advertised. The kitchen was great.
For us personally we would probably suggest this house for 3 couples with Children in the future instead of 10 adults. The sleeping accommodations were as advertised but we found that the bunk beds were mostly unused by our group because we had 10 adults consisting of 4 couples and only 2 singles.
Otherwise, this cabin was great and Kyle was very easy to deal with.

Perfect Way to Relax and Enjoy the Mountains
Had a very enjoyable stay at this wonderful property. The open and spacious kitchen was perfect for cooking and the views from the porch are spectacular. We especially liked the outdoor fire pit and how close we were to Golden (approx. 5 minute drive). We would definitely stay here again.

Great cabin with an amazing View
Went to snowboard at kicking which is just a short drive away. Was very impress with the accommodations, the view is spectacular, everything worked as it should, and the owner is easy to deal with. We went as a group of 8, there was plenty of room for us and beds for us all. The view was great to wake up to everyday as well as when sitting in the hot tub after a day of snowboarding on the hill. Most importantly, the owner was very easy to deal with, he responded in a timely manner, was very kind, and only really communicated when I asked him questions allowing us to enjoy our stay. A+ stay with a very nice, respectful, owner.

We had a wedding to attend at the Golden Eco Adventure Ranch this was the perfect location for us to get back and forth easily and quickly. Beautiful new House with an amazing view, we were a group of 6 adults and we slept very comfortably in this house, Huge Kitchen and Island was excellent for cooking and hanging around. Nice new hot tub. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.

Great vacation and rental house in golden!
Kyle was very accommodating and went above and beyond what I had expected by providing us alot of details of the area and activities. The house was a nice size for 3 couples and kids..We enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking our morning coffee and looking at the beautiful views. House has most utilities we needed. There is a Tassimo in the house which is easy to use if you buy the discs (which are in the local grocery store).
Would definitely recommend , and would stay here again.

Great rental house in the Golden area
Rental is exactly like described and how the pictures advertise. The house has some great features such as, as built in speaker system. This was awesome for our group, you can plug in your phone via AUX and have music all throughout the house or localized to one location in the house. As a renter you can see some of the finishes weren't done the best. For example the ensuite bathroom, the tiles have some unsightly edging/grouting. However, this is minor cosmetic stuff, which is just some of the small details we noticed. As for functionality, the house was great. 3 bedrooms as advertised, one with a king bed, second with bunk beds and a futon. This futon wasn't the best quality bed, I realize it's a futon but it was a pain to fold out and was dirty. Third bedroom also has bunk beds and a good quality double bed. I would recommend this rental and I would stay here again. It's about 5-10 mins south of Golden and 20 from Kicking Horse.

A fabulous stay in the Rockies!
A great country getaway! I enjoyed my stay so much I rebooked in March. I am a huge fan of the golden area, with so many activities in the area, great people, makes the golden area my favourite destination for weekend getaways.
Loved the cabin, the fireplace was a great way to wind down the day. Thanks Kyle for the accommodations, we throughly enjoyed our stay!

Great views, incomplete construction, good location
PROs: Great Views of and close proximity to Kicking Horse, decent price, a lot of care went in to building it
CONS: Separate contract needed signing prior to getting the code to get in (not normal procedure for VRBO), handle for guest bathroom broken upon arrival (fixed on day 4/4), lights/fan of master bathroom/bedroom didnt work upon arrival (fixed on day 3/4), listing does not say how many people the hot tub seats which is 4-5 MAX and the water was green/smelled despite us showering before and after going in, small construction issues ex. tiles dont match up to wall
Overall - for the price I would not recommend this location but for the specific location there aren't many better.
