A beautiful and cozy guest house -- literally in the most famous location in the Lofoten Islands. The home was beautifully decorated and comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen and two large central living room areas. Entry into the home was easy, with keypad codes. Owner was responsive and helpful. As a photographer, I loved the location, and was able to take many photos of this famous view in several different kids of weather. I only wish the Northern Lights had made an appearance for me! As I was there off season, there were not many other guests -- as a solo traveler, I wish there had been more people, but obviously that's not the fault of the guest house! The house is perfectly set up for social gatherings when there are more people in residence. It was also an easy 5 minute drive to the town of Reine, where there is a lovely cafe and a couple of great restaurants. (There's also a restaurant next door to the Manor House -- but it was closed when I was there.) Very lovely, would definitely stay here again!
My one suggestion is to add some sort of directions about how to control the radiator in the room. As a foreigner, I was unfamiliar with the device, and kept turning it the wrong way / too much. So I was roasting overnight and couldn't figure out how to adjust the heat down! Perhaps a little sign? My room was also TINY, but it was very comfortable and well appointed -- and I guess that's why the price was reasonable. :) Also, it's important to note that this is not IN the town of Reine, so it feels a bit isolated. But it is an easy drive, so once you understand that, it's a great location.

Great location with stunning views from all balconies! Everything was clean and bathroom was well stocked with an impressive assortment of soaps and shampoos! Kitchen was also very well equipped. Wifi was good and strong too.

The best spot in Lofoten. The place is an old manor house of more than 100 years with a cozy and long history. Recommend.

The stay was very comfortable. All the appliances were labelled on how to use them. The bathroom was well equipped with shower gels and shampoo. The place was very neatly maintained. We also saw the Northern lights from the balcony.

The best place I stayed in Norway. A place that is home. Great location, beautiful and spacious house, with history and interesting vintage items. Perfect location, balconies (we saw the northern lights from them), garden, large kitchen with everything you'll need and more, good bedrooms, laundry room, spacious showers with heated floors. I did not see the host but he was always available by phone and the hospitality was very generous.

Fantastic location with great views, comfortable shared lounge areas, very clean with all necessary facilities, and little touches like scented candles to light. we were very comfortable there.
Nothing, we were very happy with our time there. some people may be put off by the shared facilities, but they are spotlessly clean and I met some lovely fellow travellers.

Beautiful house. Perfect organisation

The house is exactly what the name proposes: It's an old manor house with a fantastic interior. Although no staff was present, the booking and arrival went very well with SMS that included all the necessary instructions. There was a nice welcoming sign on my door with my name on it :-) I only stayed one night and wished I could have stayed there longer. It's a relaxing, quiet, very cosy place that makes you feel very welcomed, like coming home to a nice family. I highly recommend this place!

perfect location, with great view. very well equipped house, with nice interior and a bit history of the house/location. enough space, even for a "bad weather" day inside the house. also free parking in front of the house.

perfect location.. we joked that there was a different mountain through every window. the house was really clean, well equipped and best of all full of history. you really feel you are living in a special place. we were very happy there and would come again.

Beautiful pre-WW1 house which is obviously used as a country home by the owners and accordingly, has excellent facilities, notably the kitchen which is stocked with everything you may need, including sugar, oil and spices. The house is beautifully located overlooking the island (quiet location) and has a direct view on a small harbour and some of the spectacular peaks closely surrounding Reine. Only 4 rooms are rented, making for courteous to pleasant relations with the other guests. There are 2 nice lounges with reading matter, etc. The owner is not present, but is promptly available on the phone in case of a difficulty.
This ancient house has 2 (nice) bathrooms only, which are shared between guests, and obviously not en-suite. Thanks to the small number of guests and their courteous behaviour, this was not a problem however.

the character and vibe of the house, so cool!

Clean and comfortable accommodation in a scenic location. Manor House has everything you'll need during your stay. Car parking outside premises available. Tastefully decorated. Garden available in Summer.
Local restaurant in village closed so nearest place to eat was Reine a few km away. Two bedrooms in house so sharing common areas such as toilets, bathroom, kitchen and lounge. Due to remoteness there is little to do in the evenings.
