The old Coffey place felt like home when we walked in. It was comfortable, roomy and well maintained. The canyon view out the front picture windows was awesome regardless whether it was raining or sunny. The close proximity to the Buffalo National River (a quarter mile walk to a dirt access road), and just 2 miles to the Buffalo River Trail, was an unexpected bonus. The delightful road runner that visited in the morning was cool, too - the first time any of us had ever seen one.

We had 7 in our group and the house was a comfortable fit. Everyone had their own space and there are several areas to hang out together as well. The kitchen had everything we needed. The view from the front of the house is beautiful and we spent a lot of time on the rocking chairs on the front porch. It only took about 10 min to get to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch or Kyle's Landing and 45 to Cowell. Merlyn took good care of all of our needs. We would stay at Coffey Place again.

Plenty of room for 6 adults and two children. Located between Ponca and Jasper, so short drive to lots of outdoor activities and downtown Jasper.

Challenging driveway.
Beautiful property.
Two full bath - but only one has a shower. The other has a bathtub.

A group of us wanted to be in nature in the Ozarks and this was a great place. Close to the river and kayaking and near a number of different hikes in the park. We loved sitting on the rocking chairs on the front porch and looking at the view. The bedrooms were small but that didn't matter because we were not in them very much. The kitchen had what we needed to cook every night. We would go back.

Better than I expected!

Plenty of room for 6 ladies. Nice front porch to drink your morning coffee. Very easy to communicate with owner.

The location was great. Only problems we had were that there were quite a few bugs indoors and the toilet in the main bathroom (with the only shower) wasn't working well. But the host communicated quickly.

Great place, clean, lots of space, enjoyed our stay. Small bedside tables with an option to charge devices in the master would be a nice add.

We enjoyed the location and the property was charming. The amount of movement in the floor was disconcerting, however, I have always lived on slab construction. Everything in the house was functional, VERY clean, and there is extra bedding for cold nights. The house has 2 1/2, not 2 baths. I was surprised that soap and TP were provided!

Extremely clean rental with plenty of space for everyone. We saw deer and a roadrunner on the property! House is very close to Horseshoe Canyon and Kyle’s Landing. Great host!

Enjoyed our stay at Coffey Place. Home was well stocked for us to cook dinner for our group. It was nice to have several beds for people to spread out. Super convenient location if you're visiting Horseshoe Canyon Ranch or the Buffalo River.

Great location for our weekend exploring and climbing in Horseshoe Ranch’ would definitely stay again in the future.

Despite abnormal temps and some pipe difficulties, property owner was quick to respond. I would definitely stay here again with friends and family

We loved the view, spacious kitchen, and the hostess was very friendly. The house is conveniently located to downtown Jasper, plenty of trails, Boxley Valley (for elk viewing), and just down the road from the incredible Low Gap Cafe. You gotta try the Italian marscapone cake!! We will definitely be back!

Perfect location for exploring the Upper Buffalo River. House was clean and well maintained. Host communicated well and was extremely accommodating. We enjoyed our weekend stay and would book again.

Lovely home with very nice view.

We loved our stay here. It was extremely close to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch for two days of amazing rock climbing, and was close enough for a down and back day to Silver Dollar City. The house had room to spread out and was appointed well. Sunrise on a front porch rocker is a great way to start a day. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms are a big plus for a family stay. We highly recommend!

This property was great for our group of five. It was spacious and comfortable. The location was good for our needs. The listing should be updated to show 2.5 bathrooms instead of 3. There is only one shower. Overall, it was a great stay and I would definitely recommend.

Great stay! Very cozy :) participated in the horseshoe hell climbing event and it was the perfect rest after 12 hrs

Very large house with multiple eating areas. Quiet area in spite of being on a busy road. Driveway in need of repair, mediocre for motorcycle friendly. Husbands are both very experienced drivers and the driveway was a challenge. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay just wish the driveway was in better condition. It's fine for cars! Easy check in and check out.

On arrival, pulling in the drive, the grass was knee high throughout the whole yard.
One night there was a thunderstorm with lots of rain, and the roof leaked in the kitchen, and luggage was soaked. Overall was very disappointed with the stay, and will not stay again.

Great place to stay!
The property was very clean and the location was great for what my family and I were wanting to do!

Great location near Buffalo River
We had a lovely stay, with 3 generations of our family enjoying the house. The rockers on the front porch were a favorite. The house is a short drive from several access points to Buffalo River and we went on a couple of nice walks, including the great Lost Valley Trail. Went into Jasper a couple of times and everyone was quite friendly. Host responded immediately to a couple of questions we had. Very nice stay.

Best view ever
I chose the property because of the view. It did not disappoint. My partner and I stayed for almost a week. For a short time, we were joined by family--and we didn't get in each others' hair. Our dog enjoyed it.

This is the second time we have stayed here and it won’t be the last! Plenty of space for everyone and a well stocked kitchen for cooking. Great house. :)

Our family ranges in age from a 17 yr old up to my parents who are both 80yrs old. The house was great for us. We needed the 4 bedrooms and the 3 bathrooms for our group of 8. Three of the bedrooms are very small and so are all 3 bathrooms BUT the living / dining area is very large as is the kitchen with 2 separate places to eat. Our favorite parts of the house were the front porch, which has 4 rocking chairs, and the 2 swivel chairs in the living room all of which face the beautiful view that is across the street.
Our family was not bothered by this “issue”, but be aware that it is an old house. When walking from room to room you will notice that the floors are uneven. This could be a hazard for young children, or a person with balance / mobility issues.
ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO BE AWARE OF: Although the property is listed as “sleeps 8” & “max 8 guest”, there will be a charge for every guest beyond the first 2 people. I had an unexpected charge of $480 “additional guest” charge. Since this added almost $500 more to my bill I reached out to the owner & she explained that…in Newton County all cabins have a base charge starting @ 2 people. If there are more people that means more expenses so a $20 a person is added to cover more utilities, higher cleaning bills, etc.
Last, the 2 times I had to reach out to the owner she answered my questions in a reasonable amount of time.

I think my son could’ve stayed sitting in the chair in front of the big window all day long. This house was very clean, nicer than we expected. We will definitely come back. If you are floating the upper buffalo it is the perfect location. You come out of Kyles Landing, it is right there.
