There is a downstairs and upstairs rental. We stayed downstairs and the rental is cute and has very basic kitchen supplies but we made due. Enjoyed our time paddle boarding on the river. Unfortunately, the upstairs renters monopolized the property. There were 6 of them upstairs and even more showed up for a party and horrible music during the day. The upstairs group were downstairs on the small deck overlooking the water and all over the yard, even though they had their own large deck upstairs. Leaving the two renters downstairs, unable to enjoy the outdoors, besides escaping onto the river and getting out of there... The downstairs bed was painful to sleep on and we ended up sleeping on the couch which was slightly more comfortable. The window, AC drowned out some of the upstairs noise while sleeping on the couch. The upstairs Raptors were stomping up and down the stairs until 3 AM which runs right along the side of the bedroom makes it impossible to sleep in there. Upstairs bathroom is also directly above the bedroom, so constant flushing and use all night long… The six people upstairs were going up and down the stairs till 3am to play pool in the garage. On our last day before check out we got up so early to beat the upstairs neighbors outside and was able to finally enjoy a cup of coffee on the little deck on the river, which was nice. If you choose to rent downstairs, make sure to bring a mattress pad that is super thick and hope that you don’t have upstairs renters.

Lovely, quiet property on the canal with easy kayak access to the Weeki Wachee River! Full kitchen, roomy quarters, kayaks, paddles and life jackets included! Nice shaded deck on the canal, plus large screened in patio with a dining table and chairs - indoor or outdoor dining! Italian restaurant and gas station just down the street!

The mermaid themed stay was very clean and as depicted in the listing. There is an upstairs house that was occupied by another couple. Lots of kayaking on the small river behind house. The nearby Italian restaurant is good too.

This rental has a great location to Weeki Wachee park, a screened in patio that was great for us playing games. We were able to cook easily with the stove and the fridge. Getting into the rental was very clear and easy instructions to walk through the door through the garage to the rental door.
I slept on the pullout sofa and my friend slept in the bedroom. The pullout mattress has a huge brown stain on it. In general the unit really needs a deep cleaning.
Unfortunately I don’t believe that we will return. The temperature is controlled by the rental unit upstairs. We had a family with three young children upstairs which was too much for me with all the noise and stomping around. I didn’t realize there would be another rental upstairs when we booked the place.
The living room has a window unit so you can control the air. It was freezing this weekend and we were not able to get the fireplace to work despite turning the pilot light knob to on and switch on the wall. We ended up leaving a day early because of the cold and my allergies/asthma was so bad I couldn’t breathe the two days we were there.

Not enough heat in unit. Cold. I could not control the temperature in unit.

From the outside, one wouldn't know how adorable the lower level is. After we entered the code, the door unlocked, and we saw a lovely Mermaid getaway that was just perfect for our Christmas 🎄 getaway for the two of us. The only downside was the constant running of some pump in the laundry room, abd the 3rd evening, the family that stayed upstairs were a bit loud. Other than this, we kayaked, took short sightseeing jaunts, and dined at several local tasty restaurants. We will definitely come back! The neighborhood appears "sketchy" but the people were wonderful.

This was our first trip to Weeki Wachee and the Mermaid Landing was the perfect accommodations. You really get a taste of Old Florida I especially love the creative force that went into the Mermaid Cove. The place was spotless and included everything you would need. I would highly recommend this place👌👌👌Paulette

If you are looking for a private little stay, this is not the place. The owners live there and when we got there the family was enjoying the dock. When you go to a waterfront stay, the first thing you want to do is run to the dock and see the water.. But we didn’t because It just feels weird like you are going to someone’s house you don’t know and go join them as they are having family time on THEIR dock. We kinda just stayed in the room because it was awkward. The next day the family was in their yard doing family things and we just felt like we were invading. Don’t get me wrong, they were very nice, we just felt awkward intruding . We never even went out to the dock or enjoyed the water because it just felt so weird to us with them out there. We paid for two nights and ended up leaving a day early. I noticed it said in the description they had two units and you might have to share the dock with other guests but didn’t realize the family with children actually lived there. I’m not saying they misrepresented anything, I just didn’t get what the situation was from the description.. Maybe I didn’t read it close enough. If you are looking for a semi private weekend getaway, this really isn’t the place..

We really enjoyed our stay. We loved using the kayaks and being able to launch from the house. Very close by to everything you'd want to see. Easy check in, the unit had just what we needed, and communication was very responsive. And a lovely view!

We stayed at this property for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. Only 10min away from weeki watchee park. Plenty of kayaks available at the property and only a couple minutes paddle to crystal clear water. The kids had an awesome time swimming and paddeling around. House was very clean and enjoyed sitting outside. We stayed in the downstairs unit, only downfall was you can really hear people walking around upstairs.

We stayed 2 nights to come visit the mermaids! Everything was as described! It’s much better than an inexpensive hotel that leaves much to be desired. The house is directly on the water. 2 docks to fish off of, sit and drink coffee. Plenty of kayaks and bikes for everyone. We saw plenty of wildlife in the area. We even had a manatee cruise by Saturday morning! Overall a very relaxing place if you love to be on the water!

We had a great time at Mermaids Landing! The accommodations were just as described, the space was cozy, and we loved the decor. The location is great, and we had some fun rides on the kayaks over beautiful scenery, we were entertained by jumping fish and fishing on the dock, wish there was lighting for nighttime activity. Teressa, the housekeeper, was very kind on the day of check-in. It was nice to have laundry and bikes available. We would definitely stay again, thank you!

This was hands down the best trip! The place was beautiful and right on the river with a great deck to relax and unwind. We had our 19 month old and he was able to play safely in the porch and out front with the nice quiet road. The place had everything we needed and more it was an absolute dream i will say a smidge noisy when your on the first floor if someone upstairs has heavy footsteps but honestly everyone was super respectful and kept the noise very reasonable. My family will definitely be coming back! Also want to mention for kiddos there is so many fun parks so close by less then 10 minutes plenty of entertainment for babies and kids! If your thinking about coming here with your family JUST DO IT it’s absolutely worth it!!!!

Right on the water with your own kayaks. A really good experience using the paddle board, too. Great for a family of four. Parents will get their own bedroom, and bigger kids can sleep with a TV in the living room. Configuration of the building is "interesting." Everything you need is right there at the property. Best time to visit this place is December/January, so you can see the manatees. My family stayed here in the spring and the weather was perfect. Remember the bug spray because the no-see-ums will get you in the spring. I have kayaked in many places, and by far the Weeki Wachee is one of the best to the point I kayaked here in January, having stayed at another property, and liked it so much that I brought my children back with me to enjoy spring break. Remember to go with the flow of the water!

We had a great time, we needed some assistance with getting in but mostly because I didn’t check my email, and she got back to us very quickly. The air conditioner is very loud in the downstairs apartment but once we cleared the pipe in the water of debris it became a bit better. That would be the only complaint

Nice little get away. Didn't realize it was a shared property when we booked but we got along well with the other guests and made some new friends. The ramp to the floating dock does need some anti-slip tape, I slipped and fell on my rear, quick reflexes avoided a possible injury. Overall a good experience!

It's a very cute little place - my 5 year old, 9 month old and I stayed in Mermaid cove (the downstairs apartment) for 2 nights. The only 'cons' were being able to hear everything the upstairs people are doing...for sleeping infants that can be tricky..the bedroom is right underneath the stairs so you can hear every time someone comes/goes. It's an older residence so popcorn ceilings and uneven floors were definitely noticeable. There's no thermostat or ability to control the air for the master bedroom other than opening/closing the vent and the living space is cooled with a window unit..not good or bad, just good info to have if you have kiddos that are sensitive to temperature. Pros included access to the river, very close to SUP WEEKI paddleboard rentals, screened in porch with a view, it's very clean and has everything you need in the kitchen to stay a while (stove/oven, microwave, coffee pot, etc.). You can rent see through kayaks from them that are kept in the garage so that could be a neat experience. Would stay again!

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and the 3rd time we have been to the area. We love it here! You cannot beat the access to the river, with kayaks included for this price. So so worth it!

My husband and I had a very laid back time, great way to wind down a little bit from the normal day to day things in life. It was our 39th Anniversary and this was just perfect, we love to Kayak and fish.

Needs some renovations
This place is not what I expected. It is like a camp. The inside was clean but it could be so much nicer with a little effort and work. Good patio , kitchen and bathroom........ but the carpet, paint, garage, front entrance, couch, dock , outdoor chairs and bed pillows needs help!

We saw a mama manatee and her baby right next to our dock. The mama manatee was feeding on some grass in the water!!we enjoyed kayaking the river and eating at the local restaurants

We keep coming back!
As soon as we leave, we’re looking at dates to rebook! I love this property! The owners really went all out with authentic decorations upstairs and downstairs. We are three families that book both upstairs and downstairs with a total of 9 people and are all comfortable. They have all the water equipment you need, without the hassles of renting!! I personally love that it’s on a quiet part of the canal and not the main river. You can retreat back to the house and enjoy peace and quiet after a busy day on the main river. We also had manatees munching at the dock every morning. This location is right between hospital hole and rogers park (paddle downstream), and upstream is the jumping tree, then weeki watchee preserve park, with a nice relaxing float back downstream to the house afterwards. It’s only about a 5 minute drive from buccaneer bay and the state park if you want to see the mermaid show.

Just the Adventure i was Looking For
Everything was perfect. What a cute stay as well - the mermaid theme. Loved it. Now if only the weather had cooperated: too cool or too stormy or too windy to paddle, which is why I booked it. I will try again next year.

Good location and amenities.
We used the kayaks and saw several fish and even a small manatee while kayaking. We slept well and used the washer and dryer. This kitchen is well equipped. The place could have used some more dusting but not filthy. You can hear some activity from upstairs but did not keep us awake. The closets could have used some plastic hangers. We would stay here again.

Peaceful and quaint, this simple waterfront getaway is all you need for a comfy stay.
We wanted simple waterfront accommodations so that my son could be on the river for fishing for his 16th birthday.
While the place is not fancy, it really had everything you need to be comfortable. Kitchen had all the tools, utensils, appliances. Everything works well. Beds aren't super great but there are tons of pillows and blankets to choose from. It was clean. Kayaks and life preservers were great but it was chilly when we were there and we didn't get to use them. You can hear the upstairs people a bit but it's not really a big thing because you don't come here to hang inside all day. Close to a bunch of restaurants, Walmart, gyms, and main highways but nestled back so that you feel vacation privacy. Good value for the price. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful location
We enjoyed being right on the river with kayaks, paddle boards and bicycles at our disposal for use any time. The host was very responsive to any questions we had. We saw lots of wildlife while there, even a manatee grazing just off the dock. One word of caution, the sound travels when people are upstairs moving around a lot but given everything else this place has going for it, it is easy enough to overlook.
