The street was awful. We had to park down the street. It would have been better if the second bedroom had a bunk beds. The.bean bag was bad and so was the blow up bed to sleep on

We love this place so much we had to come back! The location of the two lakes is a dream come true and Ed is so accommodating and responsive. But most of all, we love the cleanliness of the property. Everything in the house is spotless and inviting. Thank you again, Ed, for another memorable family weekend. We hope to be back again!

My husband and I vacationed along the MI coast on our honeymoon. So for our 20 year anniversary we chose a long weekend to stay and revisit many of same places and discover some new ones. The neighborhood was quiet and off the beaten path. The manager was very communicative and had great suggestions for activities and restaurants. The location was convenient for explorations of Muskegon, St. Joseph, South Haven, Grand Haven and Grand Rapids. We had a great trip and would stay here again in the future.

Ed was a gracious and helpful host! The house is super close to the beach and we used bicycles that Ed provided to ride the bike trails and go downtown. We had crummy weather but really enjoyed our stay at the Redbird Cottage!

Property owner was communicative. Super easy to get into the property. Location was excellent! To the beach, downtown, silver lake dunes, grocery stores, etc. Lots of walkable places, too. We would stay here again, for sure.

Thank you Ed, for a clean, comfortable and well stocked vacation rental. We loved the location in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to the beach activity. We rented bikes in the Lakeside business neighborhood and rode the trail around Muskegon Lake. Great visit!

What a great tiny house for a family of three.
Ed was very nice and communicated well with us prior to check in and after and allowed us to check in early which was great as we were coming from another hotel in grand rapids and had to check out at 10am

This beautifully decorated cottage close to Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake is a wonderful gathering place for an evening of ‘smores in the great fire pit or has plenty of space in the beautifully appointed living room for game night.

Great Cottage
The Red Bird cottage was very clean, comfortable and had all the amenities for the four of us. Ed, the owner, was very friendly and went out of his way to make sure we have all we needed for a fun and enjoyable stay. One of the best, clean beaches in Michigan, big enough for social distancing.

Summer get away
Great location, really nice property. We enjoyed exceptional walks along the shores of Lake Michigan, which is only a short 1/2 mile away, and along the channel connecting Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake. Beautiful sunsets!

Beach vacation
Well located and convenient house close to Pete Marquette beach, walking or biking distance. Ed provided some bikes and was a great host, also offered kayaks. Muskegon is an under the radar beach town, lots of stuff to do and not as packed as others. Short drive to downtown and more restaurants, nice fire ring there, overall a great time and a great home base.

Comfortable cottage
We were impressed with the house...kitchen and bathroom were nicely supplied and it was perfect for 3 of us The house was very clean, airy, perfect location for walking to the yacht club. The only thing I would say as a warning, and this won't matter to most, but our friend is 6'7", and the charm of the low ceiling upstairs was not so charming for him. Ed was great to work with, everything was in great working order. Would stay again and make time to use the fire pit.

Labor Day weekend in Bluffton
House is very cute, clean and in good shape. Is seems much bigger than it's actual size since the living room, kitchen and dinning room is one living space. Neighborhood is quiet and very well located, easy access by car, walking or bikes. Having the front porch and the backyard fire pit are nice to hang around outdoors and enjoy the weather. Kitchen is very well equipped with pots, pans, plates and glass ware, anything you would typically need to home meals. Ed was also very easy to communicate with, quick text replies, and he provided us with kayaks and bikes. Would come back again.

Beautiful house and location
Ed and his wife did an amazing job with the renovation of this house. We had perfect weather and a perfect place to come home to. Ed was very responsive via text and was extremely friendly and welcoming. I made a few minor suggestions to make the stay better for the next renters and I am sure Ed will make those minor improvements. Muskegon is a great town, awesome downtown and Farmers Market. You can jump on bike trails right from the house that take you into downtown. A perfect spot for a Pure Michigan vacation 💚💚

We only stayed at the house for two nights, but it was really enjoyable. The location is great for getting to the lake. The house was clean and had all the amenities we needed. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit Muskegon.

Great vacation rental
This house was perfect for a Lake Michigan get away. It was close to the beach and within easy driving distance to downtown Muskegon. The home itself was comfortable and clean. It was the perfect size for a couple or small family. The kitchen gave us the ability to prepare our own meals when we wanted to. The property manager was reachable when needed. Check-in and check-out procedure was easy. We would highly recommend to others staying in the area!

Wonderful Michigan Get Away
Our family of 4 (with 2 teenagers) stayed here over the 4th of July Weekend. The house is great! It’s an old house that has been nicely remodeled and it’s very well equipped. Additionally, the location is fantastic! We walked to the beach and to dinner at The Deck. We also used the grill provided to cook a dinner and we spent an evening making s’mores at the fire pit.
Despite being so conveniently located by Pere Marquette beach, the house is also a nice launching point for shopping in Grand Haven and kayaking the White river.
Overall, we had a great stay and Ed is a phenomenal host. Next time we’re headed back to Muskegon we’ll be contacting Ed!!

Charming cottage near beautiful beach
Our family of 5 (3 boys 12, 10 and 6) liked this quiet little house and it’s proximity to Pere Marquette beach. We are at The Deck and would highly recommend it. We also enjoyed watching the deer come close to the property and relaxing on the porch or by the fire. The house was very clean and as described.

Great Get-a-way Spot for a Fantastic Location
Our family really enjoyed our stay at the cottage despite the chillier than expected weather. The beaches on both Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake are very scenic and offer lots of great things to do, even if the water is too cold to jump in. The cottage was a perfect get-a-way for the kids as they enjoyed riding bikes around the neighborhood and seeing all of the wildlife including plentiful deer and wild turkeys. The hosts were great as they hooked us up with kayaks and bikes for our stay while also recommending some great places to visit. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the kids are eager to go back in the future.
