About this farm stay rental

At the heart of the Okanagan Valley's fruit and wine country, Mission Creek Country Inn is set on a sheep farm on Mission Creek between the historic log buildings of Pandosy Mission, Kelowna's first European settlement, and a regional park. The farm's 37 acres of pastures and woods are more like the Kelowna of 1909 when cattle and sheep were more common than today’s orchards and vineyards.

Our place isn’t luxurious in the usual sense; in over one hundred years of continual use the house has acquired some quirks and wrinkles. The farm, with its trees, pastures, flowers and animals is a special place which we feel happy to share with those who appreciate such things. That’s our luxury.

We’ve done our best to create a quiet rustic refuge for you to use as your headquarters to explore the Okanagan and experience a restful pace of life. You can visit the nearby wineries, golf courses, Okanagan lake, or the historic Kettle Valley railway’s Myra Canyon, or ride a bike on the nearby creek-side "greenway", then come home and visit out on the shady front porch—just like grandma usta do.

Owners Mark and Amber live in the basement and will do everything we can to make sure your stay is comfortable and relaxing.

Heritage house and very spacious. Amber and Mark were very nice and helpful. We were 8 of our family. The house is big and confortable. A bit too warm in the summer heat with no A/C but definitely convenient!

This is our second time staying at the farmhouse and It served its purpose well. This historical farmhouse provides lots of space and large rooms, and a huge front porch for large family gatherings. We stayed during the heatwave, but there were lots of fans throughout the house. The setting is beautiful with the mountains, the valley and the roosters crowing while we drank our coffee on the front porch. There are so many nooks and crannies that made it fun for young children. There are lots of interesting toys and little rooms for kids. It’s not a 5 star hotel, but you won’t find anything as unique for a large family stay at this affordable price. Suggestions would be to have portable air-conditioners for the bedrooms during the heat wave. And a coffee maker. Thanks Amber and Mark! We hope to return some day!

The farmhouse is lovely and spacious. We stayed in a heatwave and not surprisingly there was no A/C but fans were provided in each of the living areas. The kitchen was fully stocked and the kids enjoyed the wooden toys of the play room. My favorite part was the back deck with daybed and views of the farm. The baby grapes were delightful. My only concern is that the hosts had full access to the house while we were there. We noticed that fans that had been left on were turned off when we returned indicating that someone had been on the rental floors. One night I was outside on the back deck and the host came up through the kitchen. Looked around the main floor, turned off a fan that was still in use, and headed back downstairs. I question why he came up in the first place and what he was looking for? Seemed a bit odd and invasive.

The house is a real heritage gem. Very spacious! The bedrooms are all a good size, and the main floor rooms are very large. The front and rear porches/verandas are wonderful places to chill out; you can enjoy the peaceful view and the tranquility of the country without getting sunburnt, because of the large overhangs. Because of the smart overall design of the home, the lower floor stays relatively cool, even on a hot day; the upper floor bedrooms are very hot, though, and there is no air conditioning. Even though all rooms have good windows and screens, we found it difficult to stay cool on hot summer nights. There ARE fans for every room though, and that helps. It was a place that we wanted to hang out in; sit on the couch and read books from the very eclectic library. No pressure to get out and find something to do, but if you needed to get out, everything was a short drive away; 20 minutes to the airport, and most things in town were about 10 minutes away, max. Amber and Mark are really nice hosts and are easy to get hold of, as they live onsite.
