The inside of the property seemed to be clean to the eye, but the outside of the house needs some work. Rotting wood on the house and stairs. There was damage to the pool edging and the pool jets were not moving water so the pool seemed extra hot. The hot tub was the only circulating water that trickled down into the pool. The umbrella for the patio furniture was found down in the mangroves with one of the arms broken. We brought our own canopy so it was no big deal. The harbor entry areas were over grown with mangroves and covered with stinky grass and seaweed. We tried to remove the grass as much as possible to get our paddle boards in, but there was just too much accumulated. We noticed that the neighbor’s sea wall did not have any of this accumulated. It would be nice to have a ladder on the dock to get in and out of the water if the entry points are too hard to keep clean. The team was easy to work with.

Great Fishing spot!
Our family of 5 stayed for a week and had a great time! We loved the location and enjoyed fishing off the newly repaired dock. Caught a bunch of fish like snook, snapper, pinfish, and reds. The pool was great just super warm in July. We loved going shelling at the beach especially at Blind Pass. Wish the house was a little cleaner and the kitchen needs to be better organized. The management company was very helpful and sent a service guy over immediately when needed. We had a great time!

We enjoyed our stay at the Harbour House.
We enjoyed our stay at the Harbour House. The only area that needs to be improved on is the kitchen. Your team members were very helpful and kind. They made sure to check on us and provide us with anything we may need. When we needed someone to come repair the jacuzzi they sent out a repairman right away.

Haorbour House never disappoints.
Haorbour House never disappoints. This is our second year in a row staying here. The location is perfect. Beds are super comfortable. Pool area is a private, tropical oasis. The living room is nicely appointed but was rarely used as we spent most of our time on the giant screened porch. Perfect for watching kids swim while enjoying the view of the waterway. It’s just a short walk to the village for dining and shopping. We rarely felt the need to go anywhere as the home had everything we needed. We LOVE this place and will definitely be back. It’s always a pleasure working with this company. Rental process is easy and hassle free. I was always able to talk to a friendly person with questions before our stay. Check in and out was simple and convenient.

Besides the small issues, our stay was very enjoyable.
Besides the small issues, our stay was very enjoyable. It is a beautiful island with lots to do. The house was perfect for my family with 6 adults and 3 children. They loved the pool and the beach, a few minutes away by walk, where they could collect seashells. A great location and we will certainly come back. Sue was exceptional. She answered all our small issues and made our stay very enjoyable.

Dock is Burned, Slip is Occupied; Too Bad as it’s a Nice Location
If you are coming and plan to bring a boat to the dock or fish, be advised the dock is severely burned and the boat slip occupied with a boat that is taped off. While the fire happened months before our stay, I was advised of this day of arrival. The garage is also being used for storage, in the event you needed to put anything in there during your trip. The property manager was pleasant and tried to be helpful to remedy the situation, I was frustrated to learn on the last day of the trip to learn from locals the dock damage was done in December and I was not advised. You can Google for news stories about the circumstances of the fire. The house in general is fine, shows normal wear of a rental, and the location would be quite good, if you didn’t get a house in a Captiva on the water to enjoy the dock or pull your boat in the slip....I would advise that you call ahead if you have rented this house so you may get a different place until this is remedied (I saw no evidence during my stay of planned repair). Unprofessional situation that should have been laid out at the end of 2018, not the day of arrival.

What a wonderful vacation. The views were the best with only a 2 minute walk to the beach. Plenty of room for our family and easy access to Restaurants by bike or on foot. We fished every night and watched the Manatees every morning from our dock. Loved this rental and can’t wait for our week next year.

Great location, great house, very clean, great for family vacation, wildlife out back included iguanas of varied sizes that crawled atop the mangroves & birds of many variety plus dolphins, manatees & other fish regularly visible from the dock. Plenty of room inside the house, bedrooms ample size, the 5th "bedroom" is an open loft above the living room, so you should know that going in. The pool & area were clean and in great shape, the screened in porch is large. The Mucky Duck was great for lunch & drinks, the Green Flash next door was a good night out for dinner. YOLO rentals on the island has everything from Coolers, to Cornhole & Golf Carts; we booked ahead & everything was ready for pick up. The Re/Max people were very nice, it was a hassle free rental, no problems or issues with the stay.

The view from the back porch is incredible, however, sitting on the ten to twenty year old cushions is not comfortable. We rent on Captiva every year, we have for over fifteen years and decided to go with a different location. This home was not as described. There is NO house book Remax is NOT a good manager. We were not able to contact the owner. There is supposed to be a second fridge, it was not there. The railing is falling off the front deck, when we told Remax they said they did not care. The elevator did not work and had not been working. One of the lights in the bedrooms was not working. We called and they came out to fix it, but we were told we would not be able to use or have any light because the owner did not want to fix the $5.00 light. The grill was not usable. The pillows were stained. There are no towel bars to hang towels. The fridge was held together with duct tape. I feel bad for the owners if they do NOT know this. Remax is doing them a bad service.

Reviewer Comments:
Big house in great location, well updated inside with new bathrooms ample everything and comfortable bedding. Outside suffers from a lot of deferred maintenance items, exterior is dirty, ripped screens, rotted wood, dirty pool furniture, broken tiles around the somewhat dirty pool, and eave troughs hanging from roof, tied in place with rope. Inadequate instruction on tv and stereo use, had difficulty operating these items. Would expect to see some of these issues in a rental, however feel there was more than usual.

First off, ReMAX has always provided top-notch customer service. They helped us in anyway they could with the small items. Blender, toaster, iron and Swiffer to clean floor. The Harborhouse was a disappointment and not worth what we paid. View of harbor was beautiful and pool area was nice, however the pool did not smell like chlorine at all and the water was not clear. Two of our children developed double ear infections and had to be taken to Med Center’s. The grill area was filthy and outdoor furniture was unusable. Rusted, brokened and severely weathered. Dock was dangerous. Rusted nails, makeshift railing and a makeshift, faulty gate that my daughter almost fell through. Dock lights did not work and makeshift sting lights were present. Code violation. Downstairs toilet had a door that would not close unless you were sitting on toilet. Code violation. Bedroom access was blocked by bathroom upstairs. Privacy matter and code violation. Master BR shower had no curb; water went everywhere. Configureation of BR’s was awful for noise and privacy except MBR. Washer had black mold built up on the rim; disgusting and unsanitary. Front screen door was broke. Railing to front door was rotted and if you leaned on it you would fall through. Kitchen was small and had tripper steps. Fridge opened into steps. Code violation. Kitchen was poorly equipped. No garbage disposal. Bikes in garage were trash. Overall this house was a disaster and we should receive a 15% refund. Some of the party had to stay at South Seas to get a good nights sleep. View

Was a great location but the house could use some maintenance and updating. The second master has disfunctional and strange opening to the loft that does not allow for privacy in that room. Plus there are no towel bars in the bathrooms which makes it hard to keep towels clean. Also, we found ourselves running out a lot for things like cooking spray, tin foil, extra beach towels (remax only provides 4-6 even though this house fits 10), trash bags, laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, napkins, paper towels, coolers. I know that these are not required by the homeowners, but would be nice to have a small stockpile. Also, remax delivered a new grill on the the day that we left, so that kind of was disappointing because the other grill was barely functional and there was NO BLENDER or proper umbrellas for the outside space. view was wonderful though...

The interior was great and very clean. There was no communication prior to our arrival with check-in/access instructions, but was resolved quickly with a phone call. We would have liked to use the outdoor grill, but it was dirty and rusty. We had to hose off the screened in deck because it was dirty (probably wouldn’t have noticed but we had children crawling around on it). The master bedroom shower didn’t get as hot as the other showers. Overall, it was a beautiful house and we had a great time.

Harbour House has very nice new floors, paint, bathrooms and decor. We were switched to this property from a one level property in Sanibel that I had purposely rented due to my mother's mobility problems. Problems were as follows: -old and unsafe looking elevator that didn't work;maintenance was called to no avail. An elevator company was supposed to come the NEXT day. My mom refused to get into it, and struggled with the stairs instead. -no house manual to explain anything -dirty cooktop -stairs to lanai and eating area (no elevator access) -slippery master shower floor -no chair in master so older people can put on shoes -old rusty gas grill -Charcoal grill and charcoal, but no lighter fluid -hot tub not in working condition, maintenance said the pump was not working, no instructions there -old rusty lift to pool partially removed, but much hazardous rusty metal still there. -no channel list for tv -tap water smells terrible;we found the filtered water button inside the refrigerator after spending $10 on bottled water -small bedroom has a king sized bed with a bedframe that I ran into several times before I stuffed a pillow there to prevent bruises
