Great place to be centered between Homer and Seward with many places in between!
We’re going to have to get back from Central Oregon again to cover more trails and rivers.

I book this cabin every year for a father’s and kids Alaskan fishing vacation. The cabin itself is beautiful, it has all the supplies we need to cook while we are there. It has ample freezer space to freeze our fish before flying back to Washington. We have always felt safe and appreciate the quietness of the cabin, one year we saw a moose!

Curtis has a cabin that is set up perfectly for people looking to experience the Kenai peninsula and fish. His set up is ingenious and his cabin is so beautiful. Thanks for everything.

This was a wonderful place to stay! Everything was as advertised and then some. It is the quintessential cabin, with furs and wood carvings. We loved the extra fishing gear to borrow, vacuum packers and freezer room. Add a washer and dryer and the gorgeous views! We will be back for sure. Thank you Curtis for sharing your beautiful place, and Sarah for having everything so clean. Fishon cabin is a treasure!!

We loved our stay at Fish On! Curtis was great about calling and following up. The cabin was very clean and decorated in a way to make it feel very homey. We had everything we needed while staying there, and we loved the quiet location. Thank you, Curtis, for our great stay at Fish On! We hope to return!

We stayed for about 8 days and had zero issues.
I'd suggest anyone coming, visit the house first to make a list of what's there and what you need to buy: coffee, tp, dish soap, vacuum bags for fish, spices, aluminum foil, etc. You will not need paper coffee filters for the next 15 years! Plenty of those.
The queen bed in the master is VERY soft which is probably my only 'complaint'. House is convenient to the entire peninsula (we drove to Seward a few times and down to Homer also).
With my Verizon Android phone I couldn't send or receive even a text at the house. My wife's Verizon iPhone could. My work AT&T Android phone could surf the net but at 3G/sometimes 4G only. For 'real' internet access you'll need to drive a ways down to Soldotna to the Fred Meyer store. They have free wifi you can access from your car. Not a complaint, just fyi for any looking to connect, send photos while they're visiting, etc. I personally loved the disconnect.
Sign the guest book!
My suggestions for improvement would be: to buy a new, matching set of pots/pans for the house (lids didn't seem to fit any but one pasta pot), an electric boot dryer would be a great addition too along with a French Press for coffee. Also, there's a GREAT binder of guides/maps/things to do in the area but it's long overdue for an update.
If you're looking to fish or process what you've caught there's a nice selection of quality rods available to use and everything you need to process. A cutting table, a smoker (you'd probably need to buy wood chips for it), three industrial size vacuum sealers, and a gigantic freezer and cooler in the garage labeled 'guest use'. If you prefer to let someone else do the processing you can drop your catch off at Kasilof seafood processing in Soldotna/Kenai and they'll portion and vacuum seal your catch and box it ready to go home on the airline for you. Cost was around $1.50lb.
Great cabin, super clean, would definitely book it again next time!

This place is set off the beaten path in the quiet reserve of the woods, off a dirt road in a small community of like type homes. It is peaceful, serene and private.
The home is extremely well decorated and equipped whether you are there to relax or to fish / hunt.
Plan for it to be an unplugged type stay because the cell service in the house is almost non-existant except for a roaming network that has minimal access for Verizon customers.
Owner and property manager were both fantastic.
We will be back, either for business or for pleasure, doesn't matter.
Thanks!!

It was such a cute cabin, loved all the decorations:-). Great location, had everything for fishing and a nice grill. Curtis reached out before our visit and was extremely helpful:-)
Could have had more kitchen amenities and been somewhat cleaner.

Exceptional Vacation
We can hardly say enough about this VRBO. Clean throughout, well stocked, great amenities, good location, and an owner who goes out of his way to ensure you have a pleasant stay.
Our only issue was the uncomfortable bed. Because of my back surgeries, I require a bed with good support. And, unfortunately, this bed sags in the middle.
But, other than the bed, we enjoyed everything about our stay.

Hemmis Family visit to Alaska
What a great place to stay. Cabin was perfect & had everything we needed. Sarah & Curtis always responded immediately to any questions we had. To top it all. We saw a moose & her baby in the driveway one night!!

A+++++ Close to/if not...PERFECT!
First off, Curtis you're AMAZING to work with! We had so many questions that went well beyond renting your property, but you made our trip complete! Your property was clean as a whistle and exactly as described! The beds were beyond comfortable and all 6 of us talked about it every morning! From the fishing gear to the coolers to the appliances to the towels to the washer and dryer...why wouldn't we return? We'll sorry Curtis....you have us HOOKED on BOTH Alaska AND your property!!!! Also, please if this helps ANY of you on deciding where to book, pay attention to this next sentence...."Curtis everything you told us to do, we did and it literally made our trip PRICELESS!!!" So thank you thank you thank you from ALL of us....we can't wait to come back!!!!!

Great home with everything we needed!
This was a great home (very clean and well taken care of) with gorgeous scenery. Nice location. We processed our own fish which was extremely convenient. All we needed to supply was bags. We loved that there was a washer and dryer which is especially convenient with kids. There was fishing poles, multiple sizes of rubber boots, coolers that we could use to transport our fish back. Curtis is very knowledgeable and more than willing to answer honestly to any questions that you may have. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Curtis for all your help with getting us pointed in the right direction for our charters and fishing on our own. We really appreciate it!

Incredible Cabin/Location
Four of us stayed at this cabin for five days fishing between the Russian and Homer. The location is perfect for working the Kenai Peninsula....and the amenities (freezer, washer, dryer, etc.) are even better. Thanks for everything. Hope to visit again next season!

Comfy, Cozy Cabin
Our family of 6 adults spent 4 nights at the Fish On Cabin. We had a great time. It was perfectly located for the activities we had planned (Fjords National Park cruise, Homer, Kenai, etc...). Curtis was so responsive to questions and gave us lots of great suggestions. The Moose is Loose Bakery was visited more than once during our stay (the apple fritters were fabulous)! Sarah (local property manager) was also a great help. It was really nice to have a washer/dryer on-site. Only one suggestion, with 5 women and 1 man (my Dad), we could have used another mirror or two. Thanks Curtis for a great stay. Can't wait to come back.

Awesome cabin in Sterling, AK
Mr. Camps cabin in Sterling was over and above our expectations! The four of us, (hard core fishermen) had all the amenities we needed.
The 2 freezers were perfect for rotating the fish as we brought them in, and the fish preparing tables, towels, vacuum packer etc. were great.
The cabin was near the main highway, which was very nice, and very private. Mady the golden lab came to visit us daily, made it feel like home!
We will definitely book this again for next year!
Thanks again Curtis and Sarah!

Our stay in Sterling
We chose this location as it seemed like a good halfway point for everything we wanted to do in the Kenai Peninsula, and it is! The cabin was easy to find with the directions provided by Sarah. Sarah was so quick with a return call that her call came in while I was leaving her a message! The owners are easy to work with. The cabin itself is fully equipped for fisherman, however; we did not come to fish - maybe next time? The decor does give you the fishing fever!
The home is very neat and clean and has all of the basics - we ran out for paper products and dishwashing soap, but nothing major. The only complaint I have is the bunk room bed (bottom) and futon/sofa are killers on the back (my parents got the good bed ;) ). Definitely 5 stars if the bed were more comfy. Note that there is no internet connection, but excellent 4G, so I used my phone as a wireless hotspot to upload some amazing photos.
The cabin is within ten miles (I think) of Soldotna, and within 20 miles or so of Kenai - everything you need can be found in those towns. We spent a full day traveling to Homer, another to Seward, and a third visiting the wildlife refuge areas between the coast at Kenai and into Sterling. Amazing scenery and wildlife - more than one moose with babes near the cabin. All I can say is ... this visit was far too short. The Peninsula is an amazing area for those who love peace, quiet and the out-of-doors. The rivers and lakes are amazing - breathtaking glacier rivers, streams, ponds, lakes ... EVERYWHERE! Fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities abound. The locals who run roadside shops (Tom at the Rock Place, for example) are friendly and tell wonderful stories. Homer and Seward are not overly kitschy-touristy, and offer plenty of recreational opportunities as well as seafood to die for. Cooper Landing is the home of all things "river" - you can raft, fish, boat, gawk ... Just get out there! Thank you for the stay!

18-pounder silver catch!!!
My wife and I stayed at FISH-ON cabin for two weeks and had a wonderful time. I landed my biggest catch ever - 18 pounder silver (down in Centennial Park in Soldotna). The cabin is maintained with love and care. It felt homey , typically I don't sleep well in new places, but this time I slept very well. It is all set up for fishing including vacuum processors, freezers, etc. I found very helpful Curtis's collection of brochures on fishing tips/trips in the area. I plan on going there again next year.

Nice cabin well equipped for fishermen
The property includes a tastefully decorated Alaskan themed cabin with washer, dryer, dishwasher, and all of the necessities for serious fish processing and storage. While outside, there was a bit of road noise from the Sterling Highway, about a half mile away. The productive fishing spots along the lower Kenai River are a short drive from the cabin.
Overall, we were impressed and would gladly book this property again.

not long enough
We had a great 2 days...way too short...staying at this cabin. We did some fishing on the Kasilof River, and just spent time taking in the gorgeous scenery around. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We booked very last minute. We wanted to spend time on the Kenai relaxing before we embarked on our cruise and Curtis was great to work around our schedule.

Fish On Cabin was a perfect place for our stay on the Kenai Peninsula
Fish On Cabin is located halfway between Homer and Seward, near Sterling. The cabin is so clean and homey. We loved all the Alaskan decorations and funny quotes. We did a fly in salmon trip that was suggested to us by the owner and it was awesome. We were able to clean our own salmon, vacuum pack it and freeze it, right at the cabin. We cooked some of the salmon we caught on the grill for supper! Took quite a few trips into Soldotna for groceries and fish freezer boxes. Did not take very long to get there at all. We went halibut fishing and vacuum packed and froze that also. We went to Seward and took a lunch cruise to an island with a lodge. They were all great things to do and it was a wonderful place to stay! We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who loves the outdoors, wildlife and especially fishing! Thanks, Again!
