Water enthusiasts will enjoy 'Aquaholic', a stunning 7 master bedroom home overlooking the Pamlico Sound with all the amenities. Enjoy beautiful sunsets and front-row views of the kite boarders, wind surfers and sailboats that dot the sound, or just experience the starry night sky and the calm of the salt marshes.
With new "Flex Check-in", avoid the weekend traffic jams. Start your vacation any day of the week and stay as long as you'd like -- no need for week-long bookings with a fixed check-in day.
The beach is less than a quarter mile away, visible from our balconies and a short distance away (walk, bike ride, pack your car with chairs and a cooler and park at one of the many parking spots). Four-wheel drive vehicles can also drive and park on the national park beaches nearby.
You'll be greeted by an old live oak tree encircled in a bench with gorgeous landscaping, a park grill and gas grill, ample parking plus a basketball hoop for outdoor play. The swimming pool has a pool bar and poolside basketball.
Decorated in 'beach glass' colors, Aquaholic is wheelchair accessible and includes an elevator. The lowest level features a game room with a pool table, regulation championship foosball table, and card table and television. The bar area has an icemaker, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. Enjoy movies, television, or gaming in the private theater with a huge projection screen and reclining theater chairs. This floor has one bedroom with queen bunk beds and private bath, plus one bedroom with two sets of twin bunk beds and private bath. Two sets of washer/dryers complete this family-friendly space.
The top floor has a wide-open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and views of both the sound and the ocean, with front and rear decks and a hardwood floor. Plenty of comfortable seating accommodate your large group, with two dining tables. The gourmet kitchen features two refrigerators, two dishwashers, a six-burner gas range, separate ice maker and walk-in pantry. The living room features sweeping views of the sound and a stereo with exterior speakers provide a soundtrack for the sunset. The top floor also features a spacious deluxe king master suite that opens onto the large sound front deck, with a television, whirlpool tub and double shower.
The middle floor has another sound front deluxe master bedroom suite with a television, whirlpool tub and double shower, two additional king suites with bathrooms and televisions, plus a wheelchair accessible suite with a queen-sized bed. Relax or play games in the library that opens onto spectacular views of the sound.

This property was everything we expected, and was perfect for our big family vacation. The little fishing town of Salvo isn’t marked on a lot of maps, but it’s a cozy place and a perfect spot in OBX if you want a genuine experience without the tourist traps from the northern islands.
Black Dog’s Aaron and Dawn were amazing hosts, and were attentive to us. They went above and beyond for our family and helped us anytime we needed them. I would recommend this house to anyone!

We had 12 people all over 16 years old. Loved everything about this place! The teens took over bottom floor for games and movies which gave us adults peace on top floor. Everything was as described and perfect! It was beautiful!!

Aquaholic was terrific! The house is spacious and very well appointed. The location is perfect in that there was complete privacy and amazing bay views.
The swimming pool is beautiful as well as the wonderful hot tub. The elevator is a bonus especially when checking in and out.
Dawn, our hostess, was very responsive, but we would have preferred information regarding the operation of the tv’s upon arrival, not familiar with the cable company.
Overall, everyone had an incredible time and we look forward to returning.

This was such a beautiful and gigantic property! They provided lots of clean towels and I love the fact that they had so many full bathrooms and 2 sets of washer and dryer! Everywhere was super clean and spacious! They had lots of fun entertainment there with a theatre room, pool table, poker table, foosball table, pool, and hot tub. The host was very kind and very responsive (even at 2am!) 10/10 recommended

Aquaholic is a good choice for a vacay. Had a little trouble locating because we were given the wrong address but called our contacts and received the correct address. Love the location of the home on the sound. Enjoyed beautiful sunsets each night from the back deck. The home was clean on arrival. Like the feature of adding the sheets to your beds, made me feel comfortable that the sheets were clean. Bathrooms clean. One suggestion is a deep clean of the kitchen cabinets and the pots and pans or replace them. The cabinets are visibly dirty in areas and some of the pots and pans could have used a good deep scrubbing or replacement. Other than that had everything we needed. Would recommend.

Aquaholic was perfect for our family of 16 vacation getaway! It was so clean and had many areas to gather and just be together...that is, of course when we were not fishing! We loved the theatre room and game room. The elevator was wonderful since we had my 84 year old momma with us! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. We enjoyed sitting on the deck to watch the beautiful sunsets. If we come back to the Outer Bank, we will be staying at Aquaholic! Thanks for a wonderful vacation Dawn!

We traveled to Aquaholic with our extended family, a party of four adults and five children/teens. The house was amazing-- the views from the top floor were particularly beautiful , and 360 degrees. The house was well-appointed and well-maintained and had everything you could need. Highlights were the pool, the hot tub and the movie theater. Easy access to super market, parks, beaches, and activities like kayaking and jet skiing. We met Dawn as we were leaving and had a pleasant exchange. We'd be thrilled to stay here again.

This was our first time time to the Outer Banks and what memories we made. From swimming in the pool to relaxing in the hot tub to enjoying movies in the theatre, the atmosphere of this beautiful property only enhances our experience. 100% + satisfaction. Easy living for the week
Overall, our stay at Aquaholic was enjoyable and relaxing. The pool and hot tub are were perfect to meet our needs and it was nice that someone came to maintain both in the middle of the week. Some other notable amenities include the double washer/dryer, multiple dishwashers, and bathrooms in every room. The house was very clean and even when we had an issue with the ice maker and fridges, someone responded and came out immediately. Even better, the concerns were remedied. Our only recommendations/concerns were: the 5am wake-up call from the rooster next door and a lack of extra blankets/throws (bedding was a bit thin and an extra blanket would have been nice). Otherwise, the place was great. The rooms were quiet despite all of our guests. We would definitely return!

Paradise vacation
This house is excellent. The owners thought of everything to make your vacation perfect. We had our entire family here for a vacation and we had plenty of space for the adults and the kids. The movie room is top of the line, the two refrigerators, two dishwashers, and two washer dryers were exactly what was needed for our group. The pool was a nice retreat away from the easily accessible beach. Thank you for keeping the house so we’ll maintained. Everything exceeded my expectations!!! Love you aquaholic❤️❤️

Extreme Satisfaction in SALVO
Aquaholic home was amazing. It looks even better than the pictures on the site. The decor, upkeep and amenities are first rate. The views of the sound from the decks were wonderful. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. The family really enjoyed the home theater and game room not to mention the pool and hot tub. The managers were excellent in communicating with us. We only had a couple of questions but no problems with the property or the managers. The place is very well equipped for a long stay with a large family ( we had 11 ) in that there are 2 large refrigerators in the kitchen and a small one 1 the game room, 2 dishwashers, 2 washers and 2 dryers. They provide all of the things you need to cook meals ( except the food of course) and have a keurig and regular drip coffee maker. Lots of space to sit while dining. The elevator was a godsend . Check in was easy and the house was SO CLEAN. Parking for several cars was so appreciated. We would stay here again for sure.

Family beach trip
The home was beautifully situated sound side that offered spectacular views of the sunset that everyone enjoyed, especially the older folks who weren't up for the beach. Everyone enjoyed all the amenities that the property offered, such as the pool with the floaties, hot tub, pool table, foosball, poker table, theatre room, roku tv, and the elevator. It was a wonderful end of summer vacation for the family!

Fantastic house! We rented this same house two years ago with the same group and everyone would do it again! Very clean, well equipped, so comfortable for a big group. (We had 12.) Great place to just hang out… pool, hot tub, game room, movie room, walk to beach. No complaints about this property.

Great big house for a great vacation
The house is perfect for a big group that includes little kids and adults. The pool, the beach (across the street), the bay (down the street) are wonderful fun. We biked for pizza, ice cream and to the convenience store (which has everything!). The host was responsive when a pretty bad thunderstorm rolled through one evening too. I would highly recommend this home in the quiet town of Salvo.

Fantastic getaway
It was the perfect family vacation dream house. Each of my four adult sons and daughter in laws had a beautiful , spacious bedroom with an attached bathroom. There were two bed rooms with with bunk beds on the first floor with bathrooms for my grandkids. The biggest plus was that the place was totally accessible to my son who’s in a wheelchair. We loved the theater room The pool was fantastic Watching the sunset on the deck was breathtaking

Beautiful Home

Do this home justice! It is absolutely beautiful! Plenty of room and things to do! Unfortunately it rained every single day we were here but no one got bored with the game room ! The hot tub and pool are nice ! If I had to say one negative thing it would only be that the pool was too cold to get in... maybe having it warmed would be great but The pool not being warmed doesn’t take away from the fact this is an amazing place to stay! Our children loved it! Would definitely return again!

Terrible ending to a great vacation
Everything about this house was as advertised and the setting was perfect. Unfortunately my husband suffered a fatal heart attack on our second day there. The response from the local EMT’s was immediate and so caring. The owner was very kind to us and that meant a lot.
We loved this rental and will come back in happier times.

Best Beach Experience
Pure relaxation! Great access to the beach, but pool and hot tub made it tempting to just stay home. Plenty of room to spread out. Great hang out spaces. Bathrooms for everyone. Very inviting house. Beautiful sunsets. This exceeded our expectations. With the adjacent Black Dog Harbor, which included kayaks, and the only local fishing charter with Captain Butch, combined with the amenities of the house, this is essentially a self contained resort. This area of the Outer Banks has no crowds. The owner, LA , is the best! Can’t wait to return.

Perfect Vacation
Our family came from TX, ND, IL, VA, and MI to celebrate my husbands birthday! Aquaholic was the most comfortable, approachable, clean, lovely home for 15 of us to enjoy! You couldn’t ask for a better owner who communicates, is there to answer questions, and take care of any issues that may come up! We love how LA’s impeccable taste shows in her rentals! The location was perfect for us to climb the Hatteras Lighthouse, get a permit to drive on, and take all of our things to the many beach areas, and also get a permit to have beach bonfires! The sunsets and kite boarders were amazing to watch off the decks of the house on the sound side! For most of us, this was our first time visiting the Outer Banks, but we will be sure to be back! Thank you LA, for making our first visit, a very enjoyable and memorable family get together and vacation!

Relaxation in the Outer Banks
We rented this house for a family get together. It was perfect! The views from all floors and the top floor in particular are spectacular. There are windows in every direction and you see water and dunes everywhere. The kitchen was awesome for a large group. There’s plenty of counterspace as well as a huge kitchen island. Two refrigerators and two dishwashers also really help when you have a big group. Our three grandchildren had a great time playing in the pool and sleeping in the bunk room. Overall our vacation in the Outer Banks was super relaxing. This house made it very easy to enjoy our time together as a family. Our host was super responsive about any questions that we had. I would wholeheartedly recommend this residence.

Perfect getaway!
Aquaholic is by far the best vacation house our family has ever stayed at! We had a group of 13 with 3 generations and everyone got to enjoy themselves. The teenagers loved the game and theater room, and the elders really enjoyed the amazing views from all 3 decks and all of the sitting areas to relax. There two large tables for dining which was my mom's favorite part of vacation! She loved everyone being able to enjoy meals together. The kitchen has plenty of room for everyone to help out at the same time and not be crowded. Of course everyone loved the pool and hot tub which we were happy to find out is emptied and cleaned every week. The home was very well decorated and spotless! This is the first time our family stayed sound front and it was peaceful and beautiful!
The owners were also great! I had a couple of questions for her and she answered her personal phone right away each time. Thank you for an awesome vacation!

Fantastic vacation home
The house is more beautiful then the pictures. My family of 15, ranging from 71 yrs. to 4 months of age, never felt crowded. We cooked 90% of our meals in the very well stocked kitchen and fantastic independent ice maker (especially good for frosty beverages!). The pool and hot tub were a huge hit and were used everyday! The elevator was extremely helpful for moving in (and out) with heavy suitcases and tons of groceries, like heavy cases of bottled water for example. We found several nice beaches in Salvo (#27) which were accessible by a wooden walkway and were clean, serene and uncrowded. We want Jet Skiing right down the road; one of us kayaked. One day took a trip into Nags Head which was only about a half hour away. We played mini-golf, went to a cute playground, visited the Aquarium and went go-carting there.
We had a few minor issues in the house. Our concerns were responded to, and dealt with, in lightening speed by the owner. The movie room was also great, especially on a rainy afternoon.
The entire week was highlighted by the magnificent sunsets every night! A sight to behold for sure. A great and memorable time was had by all, especially me, who wanted to have my three kids, their spouses and my seven grandchildren, all under the same roof with my wife and I, to celebrate my 70th Birthday!
Oh and I cannot forget about making S’mores with everyone - a family tradition!
By the way, there are stores very close by for fresh fish, great cold cuts, beer, wine, kitchen staples, etc.
Salvo is quiet and not congested but has the essential stores if you need something. Amazon does deliver there as well and we took advantage of that service.
