About this apartment rental
Mevator - Meva the affectionate local name for the attractive fishing village of Mevagissey and "Tor" meaning "a hill or rocky peak". This amazing 2 bedroom apartment is situated in a front line position with jaw dropping views across Mevigissey Bay and out towards Chapel point. Mevator s elevated cliff top position is still only 5 mins walk from the main harbour with its narrow streets, galleries, quirky shops and bars, cafes and restaurants.
Once the ground floor of the Old Treleon Hotel, Meva tor is now a contemporary apartment, having been fully refurbished in 2012 to an extremely high standard offering all mod-cons including underfloor heating and hot water via an efficient Air Source heat pump system.
The apartment comprises the following:-
1. Two bedrooms both with king size beds incorporating John Lewis mattresses with 12-14k springs, offering both a medium and firm option in both bedrooms, and a minimum of 800 Thread count Egyptian cotton linen. The master bedroom contains a white four poster bed and an outside terrace with views overlooking the bay. An en-suite shower room with natural stone lined walls completes the master suite set up.
2. Beautiful family bathroom offering bath, shower and WC, limestone tiled throughout.
3. A large open plan kitchen is a key feature of the apartment with a hand- built John Lewis of Hungerford kitchen. American style fridge, dishwasher, range master cooker, microwave, Sage Nespresso coffee machine and plenty of storage space. A Neptune extending table with bench and Eames chairs make this an amazing entertaining space, with spectacular views over the bay.
4. Being on the ground floor it benefits from two patio areas with bi-fold doors from the sitting room and also the master bedroom as mentioned above. As well as the patio area there is also a small lawn area with attractive borders. On the patio there is a table with 6 chairs as well as two steamer chairs and a bistro set for use outside the master bedroom. Below the lower terrace are steps leading down to a snug area literally nestled into the cliff sit on the bench and sip a glass of champagne and marvel at the unrivalled view.
5. Other key attributes making this apartment a five star option are as follows; Q-LED 49 inch TV, up-scaling blue ray DVD player (with a good selection of DVD s), Samsung sound bar, Xbox, excellent WIFI, nautical telescope, guitar, a selection of board games, turntable and choice of LP s, (no they are not all 80 s music!) etc. Beautifully furnished with Swoon Editions sofa and chair, coffee table and sideboard.
There is also a certain humour about the place which you will realise as you discover some of the more quirky but endearing aspects added to this amazing home. There is private parking for one car in a car park 150 yards from the property.
Local area and things to do.
The last week in June each year is Feast Week in Mevagissey, when there are celebrations in the streets and a whole range of family entertainment to join in.
Within a 10 minute drive are Gorran Haven (a family friendly beach with some amenities and toilets), Hemmick Beach (beautiful and unspoilt) Vault (a bit more remote) and Caerhays Beach (also with some amenities and toilets and a castle)
For those who want to venture further afield there is the Roseland peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Other places to visit within an hour are St. Mawes, Padstow, Newquay, Wadebridge, Falmouth, Truro and Watergate Bay. Mevator s position makes it ideally situated for exploring both the North and South coasts, each with something different to offer.
The Eden Project is nearby, around a 20 minute drive away. The Lost Gardens of Helligan (including the excellent Lobbs Farm Shop which sells a wide range of local, organic produce) is only a 10 minute drive away.

A real gem of a place! Beautifully furnished and cared for, with everything we needed. Parking was nearby and easy and the beds were extremely comfortable. The ten minute walk up and down the hill into Mevagissey has done our legs the work of good (not kidding!!) and the view of the harbour was a real treat. The Sharksfin restaurant provided us with a tasty takeaway (even though they don't officially do takeaways) - their Indonesian curry was superb. But the best bit about our trip was the wonderful view from Mevator, of the sea, cliffs and hills beyond. And the most spectacular rainbow I've ever seen! Thanks Viv.

Viv’s apartment is absolutely fabulous. The photos online don’t do it justice, in our opinion. The views are amazing, from the kitchen/ diner, living area and terrace. The whole apartment is stylishly furnished with attention to every small detail. The car parking space is literally a 20 second walk away ( very much appreciated where space is tight, like Mevagissey!) The short walk to the harbour is beautiful and good exercise. It’s just 10 minutes, maximum, if you are fit and well. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more. We’d definitely recommend it and Viv is a perfect hostess, should you need to contact her for any reason. We will definitely re-book if we go down that way again. Thoroughly delightful!

I could not recommend this enough the location & standard was truly out of this world & what made it even better was the weather which was magnificent. The views were spectacular & I enjoyed running the coastal paths every morning. If I could I would have stayed forever!
I felt privaledged to have stayed in such a lovely place so thank you so much to Viv.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, modern and superbly-equipped property. It is well-located for exploring the Cornish coast and gardens, which we enjoyed doing for 10 days. Because the weather was unusually cool and rainy, we didn't use the terrace, but we appreciated the awesome view through the expansive windows giving a 180-degree view of the coastline. The finishes, furnishings and decor of the apartment are high quality and the kitchen is fitted for serious cooking. One disadvantage is steep stairs down to the two-story lounge area, but the uninterrupted sea view from the kitchen/dining area makes up for this slight inconvenience.

This property is without doubt the perfect location to holiday! The view is breathtaking, and the apartment is decorated and equipped to a very high standard! If you are looking for a luxurious holiday......this is the place for you.....Viv has thought of everything and more to make your stay just perfect. It is also a very short walk to the centre which makes the evenings far more pleasurable. Would recommend this apartment without hesitation and plan to revisit in the not too distant future!
