INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:
My property manager will greet you, get you settled, and answer any questions you may have.
Though my private residence is next door, it is off limits to renters and is usually not occupied when guests are enjoying their stay. Occasionally, we will be on the property during your stay.
We also have a campsite on our property, located approximately a half a mile around the lake from the barn & boathouse, which we rent out on the Tentrr website. Please note that this campsite may be occupied during your stay. We don't expect much interaction between the two sites, but we do asks that our guests respect each other's time and privacy so that everyone may enjoy their stay.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
From the Hudson Valley painters to the hills of Rip Van Winkle, from the old comedy acts of the 50's to the fly fishing camps and wineries of today, The Catskills is a beautiful and historic landscape. Dotted with antique shops and organic ice cream stops, apple farms, music venues, professional theatres, and fisheries, our neighborhood has something for everyone!
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
From New York city you can take a train to Middletown New York, and then a 25 minute cab ride to our home. Or, catch the bus at Port Authority which lets you off in Wurtsboro - just a 15 minute cab ride away. Schedules are New Jersey transit for the train, and Short Line for the bus.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
This property is unlike any other just 90 minutes from New York city. It is perfect for the executive who wants to enjoy a country home, but doesn't want to own one... Perfect for the artist who wants to spend a week (or a month) writing the next great novel. Perfect for a warm family reunion, or for the couple who wants to lie in a hammock by the stream and read for hours. Our lake is full of sunfish, largemouth bass, and crappies. Beaver, otters, eagles, Canadian geese, bear, quail, skunk, deer, swan, and great blue heron all make their homes in this unique environment. Occasionally we are visited by the loon, and that is a sound to remember forever.

What a beautiful unusual place. Very relaxing and peaceful. The boathouse had an old world feel with just enough tech to get by. We wanted a peaceful place to visit with our son. This place was perfect. Nature was a soothing part of this. We saw otters lots of ducks and geese. There were rivers all over. There were signs of bear and fox. It was a nature lovers paradise. The pizza in town was wonderful too.

Picturesque Escape
This was the perfect place for my family and I to get away for a cozy winter weekend. The house was beautiful and the view was fantastic. We spent most of the weekend curled up by the wood burning stove. We’d love to come back in the summer to stay again and enjoy the lake!

Wonderful
We had a such an enjoyable visit. My husband and I, our daughter and her husband, and two of our grandchildren all came together for a fun and restful time. The property is delightfully beautiful. The property manager, Scott, was helpful and friendly. My grandson loved his time so much he asked us to come back again. The owner could not be more hospitable. We will most certainly come back again.

This is a one of a kind property. The pictures don’t do it enough justice. The property owner and property manager were extremely accommodating, hospitable and respectful of our privacy. Absolutely loved the beautiful boathouse as well as the lake, activities and property amenities. Can’t wait to visit again!

Lakefront Paradise
My family and I had such a wonderful weekend at the beautiful boathouse. The owner was so gracious and thought of every detail to create a magical weekend. From handmade soaps, to floral arrangements..... the house was so inviting. It had such lovely aromas...... from the lemongrass that was in the diffuser down to the cleaning products! (Which I purchased when we got back home) We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and jumping off the dock for hours! The property was everything I envisioned and more. It is truly a special place. We loved ending our trip roasting s’mores around the fire pit. My 7 year old son summed it all up when we got home when he said, “I wish I could turn back time so I could do it all again.” We would love to go back in the Fall! Thank you for the wonderful family memories that we will have forever!

Another great stay on the lake.
Returned with my family to this magical spot. Everything was wonderful - from the invitingly warm lake to the perfectly equipped kitchen, and the gracefully arranged flowers throughout the house. I am sure we will be back. Hiking at Mohonk preserve was a big plus this year. Highly recommended.

Everything I was looking for
Fabulous long weekend with my family at this idyllic property. Verna and her team were gracious and unobtrusive hosts. We will definitely be back. If there was a hot tub they probably would have had to forcibly remove me. Great hike to Ellenville ice caves. Nothing in the photos or description can communicate the beauty, serenity and just plain good vibe at this place.
