We have been to Vieques many times but this was our first time at Culebra. Ann was so great with her information and we loved the island. Although we had a car, the houses location allowed us to walk to dinner every night so that was great since parking is tough in town. Highly recommend but remember it is a beach house not high end.

I'm a single woman who brought my two boys 13,10, here for 5 days. Anne is a gracious host, I never once in Culebra felt unsafe. The location is perfect. The house is awesome, rustic Caribbean and has everything you will need. If you're looking for a resort vibe, think again. If you want a chill awesome vacation book here.

Great view from porch. Comfortble and homey atmosphere. 5 minute walk to Melones beach. About 15 minute walk to Dewey. There were many moments we just hung out on the front porch entranced by the view. And Ann the manager was helpful, available welcoming.

We loved staying at the Pastel House. Easy to get to and perfect view every night at sunset! Ann was super helpful before and when we arrived. We for sure will be coming back and staying here!

My 11-year-old son and I stayed at the Pastel House, and we absolutely loved it. First of all, the view of the ocean and Luis Pena was amazing. We loved having breakfast and dinner outside with this view. The house provided everything we needed. Beach equipment such as snorkeling gear, beach chairs/umbrella, cooler, beach towels, etc are particularly useful and they were all in great condition and we used them every day! We also used the grill a lot for preparing dinner outside. The location is also perfect as it is so close to everything - beach, town, and all. What makes this place so special is Ann who is always available to make your stay as comfortable as possible. She communicates clearly and proactively before and during the stay, and respond any questions we had very quickly. She is a very kind and caring person, and we were very happy to get to know her during our stay. We will absolutely love to come back here in the future and we recommend anyone who is looking for a laid back island vacation!

The location of this property is amazing. Fantastic views of the water, Luis Pena and the ferries coming and going.
The one BIG issue we faced the week that we were there was a water shortage. The water cut off every day. Anne ( the property manager) told us about her system of filling up the water jugs underneath the sink. This is what we did so we would have water to clean ourselves when we got home from the beach.
Anne explained that there is a cistern but there is no pump so there is no way for the water to get into the house. I don't think this is an acceptable way for a rental property to handle a chronic water problem on Culebra. The owner should provide a better back up system!! ( i.e. install a pump!)
I gave "cleanliness of property" a 3 star because we found a dead scorpion the day we moved in.
There was a broken tile on the kitchen floor. at the front entrance. we did not enter through that door because we did not want it getting worse.
Also, the shower head was attached with a plastic bag.. we didn't use it much ( lack of water) but I don't think this would stand up to water pressure.
Some nice touches.. beach chairs and snorkeling equipment, but this place definitely needs some more help before it's ready for prime time rental

We loved Pastel House. The place had tremendous views of the ocean, an open floor plan, and lots of charm. It's classic rustic Caribbean in style and feel---perfect for easing into the day and evening. Melones Beach and fantastic snorkling are only a short walk away. Ann was a great host. We already looking forward to a another visit in the future. Thanks!

Amazing snorkeling beaches within walking distance. Close to the main port, but far enough away to feel totally isolated. And Ann was incredible. She went out of her way to help our party arrive comfortably and stay comfortable for the entire week. So thankful for her generosity and lovely personality. We had an incredible experience at the Pastel House. It’s rustic and simple. But that suits us perfectly. Right by the best snorkeling, beach chairs included, 180 views from the porch. What more do you need.

Incredible as usual
The location of Casa Pastel is perfect, close to town yet secluded. Some of my greatest memories are on that porch after a day at an impossibly beautiful beach. I’ll continue to stay here for years with my family, so long as they’ll have me!

Ann, property, and Culebra were amazing.
This was our first trip to Culebra and we loved this tiny, laid back island. Definitely rent a good cart, it's perfect. The simple island home is quaint and lovely. Not new or fancy, but well kept and perfect for us. The huge deck overlooking Melones/Sardinia provides breathtaking views, shade from the sun, wonderful breeze and absolutely amazing sunsets. PR had earthquakes while we were here and Ann was very considerate, prompt, and thorough with updates of the situation. Thanks so much for sharing this place with us.

Perfect location - quiet and beautiful
The house is in the perfect spot. An easy stroll to Melones Beach for amazing snorkeling and easy access to town. The views and peace and quiet are amazing. It was the perfect spot for our family of four. It is on a tropical island - so we naturally had some insects (if you are squeamish this might not be the right fit). We loved eating breakfast and dinner on the patio watching the water.

Perfect accommodation, excellent balcony.
Ann was a helpful host. We loved the porch and incredible sunsets. We ate all or meals outside and appreciated being "out of town". Very private, relaxing and I would definitely stay here again.

Spectacular Ocean views and comfortable accommodation
We stayed at Pastel House for a week in March and it was wonderful. The house is set up on the hillside and has lots of windows and doors which we left open the entire time to catch the ocean breezes flowing through. We didn’t have to use AC once while there. The house has fantastic ocean views with a wide porch to enjoy long evening sunsets and cocktails. The accommodation is modest but extremely clean and a perfect island getaway. Ann was a fabulous host, giving us advice and recommendations during our stay. The house is located close to town with many good restaurant options but also very quiet and directly across from Melones Beach. We would definitely love to return to Culebra and would certainly stay at Pastel House again.

Fab location, view and host, house is slightly run down
Overall, I really loved this spot, and am very likely to stay here again! The view from the porch of Melones Beach and the sunset is AMAZING, and I loved being able to watch the ferries come and go. It's close to town, but still quiet. (Beware, there are a few roosters though.) . The house had all the amenities we were looking for - decent beds, decent shower, enough lounging space, a hose to clean off scuba gear, and a killer hammock. And, Ann was SUPER nice. She came to get us at the grocery store and led us out there, then showed us around, and was easily available via text for the rest of the week when we had questions. Is it the nicest house I've stayed in on Culebra, though? No. The floors are painted plywood, not tile etc., the kitchen appliances were quirky, and the furniture's pretty dated. All in all, it was comfortable rather than posh or stylish. It worked for us, but might not suit others.

Fabulous location and amazing views!
The Pastel House could not be in a more idyllic setting with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and nearby islands. The best feature of the house is the enormous porch from which you can enjoy both spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and a great space to enjoy cocktails.
The Pastel House is only a 5 minute walk from Melones Beach which has crystal clear and calm water, and a lovely coral reef with purple fans, a plethora of colorful fish (parrotfish, butterfly fish, angelfish), schools of blue tang and yellow and blue striped snapper, as well as the occasional hawksbill turtle.
The house itself is surrounded by bougainvilla and other tropical plants.The interior is spacious, the kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the shower is nice and warm.
I would highly recommend the Pastel House as an ideal spot to enjoy a the beautiful and unsopoiled island of Culebra.

We've rented Pastel House Casita many times. Close to town and Melones beach. Quiet hillside. Little traffic, great views. Roomy living/dining areas. Well-equipped kitchen. Property manger helps with any request. No glitz, just comfortable and clean. Walk, swim, snorkel, eat in or out at El Eden, Susie's, Dingy Dock, Caracola's, others too. 4 wheel helps up the driveway.

The best vacation I have ever had. If you're looking for a laid back atmosphere and enjoy being outdoors this is the place for you. From always being able to find a private shaded spot on the beach to sitting on the deck watching the sunrise, sunset and the pelicans dive for fish, peace and tranquility was the name of the game for our seven day stay. The accommodations were excellent. If there is availability I hope we can return to vacation at the Pastel House again. Simply wonderful!

Can't say enough about pastel house. Location is exceptional. You practically have your own private beach at Melones. The house is airy and open with an expansive porch with amazing sunset views. Nadine the property manager was so nice and accommadating. I will definitely visit Culebra and stay at the pastel house again

Beautiful views and wonderful trade winds make the Pastel house a great stay in Culebra. The house is well stocked and very comfortable. Just a short walk to world class snorking at Melones beach or into town. The property manager was very helpful with recommendations for dining,shopping, things to do and see and really kept the property very clean and well maintained. I can't wait to get back to this piece of paradise!
