We were very happy with renting this home for one week. It was in a quiet location with a beautiful view of the bay. The home worked very well for our group of seven, and conveniently located for shopping and days at the beach. We would rent from Lisa again.

Fun, clean, and open beach house that is perfect for large family gatherings and located right on Lyon’s Bay. The kitchen was fully equipped and great for barbecuing and the garage was full of pool toys and fishing equipment. Loved using the kayaks and the private dock. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.

Well appointed, updated 3-bedroom house and a separate 1 bedroom suite. Everything you need is there. Good selection of kayaks and interesting places to explore. Lovely sunset views. Small solar hearted pool overlooking the bay. Lisa and Jeff are lovely hosts and nearby if you need them. Bikes could be better - we used our own. Perfect space for families.

/we really enjoyed our stay here. /the property was exactly as described-- swimming, kayaking, fishing right there.. also lots to do nearby/ pool is solar heated so only can get 10 degrees warmer than the air-- a bit chilly if it's not warm outside/ Lisa and Jeff were perfect hosts. highly recommend!

We had a great stay at Lisa's house in Nokomis. Location, layout, pool were all fantastic. Enjoyed paddling from the house and short drive to the beach. Hosts were incredibly accommodating and friendly.
Some of the kitchen items, mattresses and sporting equipment could use a refresh.

Overall a very nice stay. Very quiet and relaxing. The house is spacious with an detached apartment.
Issues:
Note on thermostat not to turn below 76° due to some kind of issue (not a new note). This can be a problem in Florida considering it’s very hot.
There was used soap left in the showers.
AC for detached apartment had clogged filter and AC did not work until we cleaned the filter

Had a great time the house had all the amenities we wanted and more! Lisa was very accommodating and very friendly! Would 100% rent again. Took the boat down and we were able to dock up right in the back yard we fished day and night and had a blast with the Snook, Mangroves, redfish and sea trout. Can't wait to do it again!!

First of all, when we drove up we didn’t know if we were at the right property bc the garage door was up and there was so much junk all over that we thought someone lived there! They charge A lot of money for it to look like that when you drive up! Once we got inside it was boiling hot, 3pm and it was 78 degrees in the house. So the house could cool down, we all decided to swim, we went out to the pool area to the smallest pool In Florida! Came in from swimming the temp had gone up to 79. The pictures are very deceiving of pool !The house was advertised as renovated ,well…not the A/C because we were told keep the setting at 72 degrees sign, don’t go out the doors but after we complained, the sign mysteriously got change, while we were at the beach to 76 ????? It never reached 72 it was 79-80 the two days we stayed in that missable humid ,hot house. I messaged the owner on vrbo very nicely...the air may need to be looked at bc this was day two of the heat index at 104 and we were all hot, A few minutes later Lisa (owner) sent her husband over unannounced (they live next door) he pounded on the door like the police…as to our surprise, he was standing there barefoot and sweaty and asked if we were having a problem with the air. I replied “can you send someone like an a/c professional to service the system. He then said “ let me look at it “ he barged past me at the door before I could decide if I wanted him to come in or not! He goes over and stood at the thermostat (giving lessons on how the Florida heat is outside). I have lived in Florida and I am aware of extreme heat. I also requested he and Lisa call before coming over so, we know who to expect. The husband then left very angry and slammed the door so hard that it rattled the windows as my famiIy and I are all in the living room to witness his behavior. Earlier that morning 9:30 am the husband was on the garage unannounced getting landscaping materials working off the garage with a wagon, it scared us bc we didn’t know who he was. He was wondering around while we were eating breakfast. Absolutely Unexceptable ! We left that afternoon and contacted VRBO immediately after the” slamming door incident”the inferno house and the privacy issues. The owner was also sending long text about her husbands actions of which she was not there! She was very unreasonable with refunding $$ ,we left due to the conditions of the property and rented a hotel that nite. I did not go far enough back on the reviews !

What a lovely place to stay. Right on the water. We texted our arrival time and the garage door and home was open and ready for us to enjoy. Husband and I stayed in the side house, while each of our sons/spouses had their own lovely bedroom (one with it's own bathroom) and the 3 grandchildren had a room to themselves. The cabinets have more than enough cooking gear, the refrigerator had some condiments which was really nice, the cabinets had plenty of spices, and the grill was clean and ready to go. Lovely pool and plenty of pool toys. Assorted Jenga and other games for the kids. We were even able to take some of their beach chairs and sand toys down to the nearby Nokomis beach for some waves and relaxation. A note in their guestbook said they'd stayed there for 3 months and now we understand why. We' absolutely stay there again. Thank you Lisa.

This was our second time staying at Palmetto Crescent. We thoroughly enjoyed our two months. The home, the neighbors, the owners Jeff and Lisa and the location we were all A-1
We are already booked for next year and I can hardly wait to get there. Jeff and Lisa were delightful as owners and as new friends

We took our daughter’s family down for fall break and werejoined by her sister and husband.. Main house had two bedrooms with bath on one side and another suite on other side. We had a lovely guest cottage!
We all enjoyed the screen surrounded pool and loved the dock for fishing and were supplied with kayakes and paddle boards.
Owners live next door and were extremely accommodating but not invasive!
We will go back!

We checked in on Feb 1 for 28 days. Owner said there was a power surge on 12/25, that “fried” the washer and dryer. We had MANY electrical issues (“fried” instant hot water heaters for 2 of the 3 baths, barely cooling refrigerator- repairman said motor “fried”, solar pump controller for pool “fried”- owner showed us burnt black controller box). Since owner stated that an issue occurred in Dec, we would have liked the electrical issues to have been reviewed prior to our stay. We only had one shower that had hot water for the first 17 days of our stay. There were 6 of us staying in a home with 3 full baths. The fridge was not cold. Owner said we didn’t have settings correct. It was still warm. After a week, a repairman said it needed a new motor. We did not have a cold fridge till day 10. Coming from up north, we really wanted a heated pool, but because of the electrical issue, and the owner not resetting the timer correctly, we only had 1 day of use in the pool.
Cleanliness- DISCUSSTING. Baseboards, kitchen door curtain, grill, toaster oven, couch (really gross amount of filth between cushions).
Bikes- in disrepair. Chains rusty, handle grips cracked and chunks missing, brakes barely held, deflated tires).
Heat in adjacent apartment was out for 2 nights that were in the mid-forties.
Location was great, problems unacceptable. We did get a refund for 1 of the 4 weeks we stayed. Not sure if this made up for cold showers and warm fridge. BEWARE of this property.

Great Florida Getaway with Helpful Neighbors
We chose this home for our Christmas vacation because of the location. Right on the water, pull your boat up to the private dock. Perfect weather. The owners live next door, and are available to help with any issues.
Even though there was a huge electrical issue on Christmas day, owners were able to respond and provide timely help. The electrical issue killed the dryer, microwave, and TV, but they provided some laundry service, had the power fixed that day, and had the TV up and running the next. Glad they were on site and willing to assist.
Canoes, fishing gear, water toys, etc. all provided. If you want fun in the sun, consider this Lyons Bay home.

We had an excellent experience at this location and would highly recommend. We came to gather for a family funeral and the owners were so incredibly kind and accommodating. They have obviously begun updating the home and the updated kitchen and master bathroom were really nice! There are some other areas that could use some updating but overall the place is very well kept and was really clean. Our adult children totally enjoyed kayaking, fishing from the dock and riding bikes. We also visited POP'S Tiki Bar several times. It's an easy mile walk from the location. We will definitely consider staying here again.

We had an amazing stay at this property! Everything we could ever need for a great beach vacation was available for use and if we needed something extra Lisa was more than willing to accommodate. The property was clean and was exactly what we expected with close proximity to beaches and downtown Venice. We spent a lot of time fishing and swimming and didn't feel much desire to even leave the house while we were there. Owners are amazing, property was perfect!! Best and easiest VRBO booking I have made so far!

Beautiful Casey Key
We had a good stay in beautiful Casey Key! Unfortunately, there was ‘Red Tide” during our stay which limited us to more beach time. The home was clean and owners were very nice and easily accessible. We will surly consider going back. Thanks Lisa and Jeff!

A Perfect Place to Indulge in the Florida Lifestyle
This home has it all. Open floor plan, plenty of sleeping space, pool, dock on the bay, and all the recreational toys you'll need to become a temporary Floridan. The Matthews are warm and attentive hosts. We'll be back!

Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous! This place has something for everyone. It was a nice get away with our adult children ages 19 and 24 and our 2 year old yellow lab. We went kayaking and paddle boarding everyday! We saw a variety of birds, plant life, rainbows, turtles, and dolphins. My husband was even lucky enough to see a manatee surface for a breath of air! If you love the outdoors and love being on the water I highly recommend staying at this house.
Location! Location! Location! Could not have asked for a better location. Loved being close to the action but enjoyed the quiet neighborhood vibes! We went into Tampa (Bush Gardens) and St. Petersburg to see the Orioles play the Rays. We also hung out at the Dog Beach and shopped in downtown Venice. (Loved eating at Sharkys! Beautiful water view and great food. Very family friendly!) We also spent time at Siesta Key!
The owners are the best! Very nice! House was clean when we arrived! Hot towels right out the dryer was the best! Every time we saw The Matthews they were always asking if we needed anything or had any questions. The House is amazing! Very well stocked and lots of room. We hope to return soon!

We very much enjoyed our stay in Nokomis! The house was very comfortable and well designed with separate areas for each of our families. The pool/patio area was definitely our favorite spot to congregate - loved the outdoor ceiling fans and comfortable chairs. We used the kayaks and SUP to explore the bay and fished from the dock. The location was great with a small park nearby, which our dog enjoyed every morning. We cooked quite a few meals in the well equipped kitchen. There were also lots of restaurants close by (Pop’s and Captain Eddy’s were favorites). We drove into nearby Venice and Sarasota to shop and visit the botanical gardens. The beaches were all beautiful -Caspersen was my favorite. The owners were next door and were very helpful and responsive. Overall this was a great home base for our family vacation!

Location was excellent for accessing various beaches and Venice town. Property was just the right size and set up for our needs. Clean. Boat dock held our 30’ boat, though we had to bring it into the bay during high tide due to shallow areas in the bay.
