About this apartment rental

Nestled in the heart of Amish Country, this apartment gives you the peace of the country while being conveniently located only 4/10 of a mile from the center of Berlin. The apartment is a full walkout basement with lots of windows, two bedrooms, a full bath, and an open floor plan. Our desire is to provide a peaceful place to come home to after an enjoyable day of visiting all the quaint shops, seeing some great shows, sampling delicious bakeries and eating home-cooked meals at local restaurants.

The photos are accurate of what you will see when you get here. We desire to provide you with what you will need for a restful stay. There are no steps to access so it's very convenient. You will have a full kitchen, full refrigerator, stove and some cooking supplies. A large-55” TV in the living room and smaller ones in each bedroom with Roku and access to Spectrum TV and a variety of live/on demand tv apps and a wii (upon request) if you want to relax in the evenings. Or you can sit on the front porch and hear the clip clop of buggies going by. Two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, a futon, an air mattress and large couch.

Our area is visited by people looking for quilts, crafts, family-friendly activities and shows, furniture stores, and seeing the Amish way of life. My husband and I both come from an Amish heritage. Our grandparents were Amish and our parents were Amish until after they were married. We have been pastors for over 20 years and due to health reasons are retired from the pastorate.

From our home you can visit Berlin 1 minute, Walnut Creek 5-7 minutes, Mt. Hope 10 minutes, Charm 10 minutes, Millersburg 10 minutes, Sugarcreek 15 minutes, New Philadelphia 35 minutes, Wooster 35 minutes, Canton 55 minutes. There is a Dollar General within walking distance and grocery store within 1-3 minutes driving (walkable if you want). We are on the same road as Coblentz Country Cabins and Water's Edge Cabin.

Beautiful/cozy little property! James was very quick with responses to any questions & very helpful through the entire booking process & stay! Loved that there was a swing set for kids (even though we didn’t get a chance to use it). The snacks were a lovely bonus & we loved looking through the notes left by previous guests! A short distance to town made for a perfect stay for our girl’s trip!

We travel to Berlin, OHIO every year, and this year instead of staying at the hotel we decided to rent a VRBO. The Yoder VRBO was just perfect, and great hospitality. It was easy to locate and check in. We were shocked to find a basket of goodies, a loaf of bread, coffee/tea, and water waiting for us in the refrigerator. It was extremely clean and very inviting. Of course, the bed was comfortable, great living space for hanging out in the evening, but I think we enjoying their family photo album and reading about the history of their family more than anything. I love genealogy and it was interesting to read their story. We are definitely going to book again for next year as soon as we figure out our dates!

Sisters getaway it was cozy and comfortable. I did need a bit more room on the doorway accessibility. What we thought was an Amish getaway was a quiet oasis so we had to unplug and just enjoy nature. Warmer weather would have been great but we missed that opportunity.overall it was a nice place, very clean, very off the grid.

We had a wonderful time at James and Carol's place!! It was very cozy and inviting and very clean. A lot of nice little touches put it over the top of other places we have stayed. The snacks were very much appreciated!! They were there if we needed anything (one small thing was fixed right away), but not intrusive. We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

We could not be more pleased with our stay! James and Carol are the perfect hosts, thinking of everything you might need during a getaway. They were so gracious to squeeze our reservation in over the holiday, when they had originally planned to block that weekend for Thanksgiving celebrations. We can't wait to come back to this comfortable, spotless, cozy home!

I can not stress enough how great this VBRO was for 2 seniors with mobility issues. No Step walk in unit which made our trip very enjoyable. The unit had every convenience most homes would have. The unit had exceptional WiFi speed with a wide choice of TV channel viewing. One small note to be aware would be Cell Service... Berlin Ohio is a small community, our T-Mobile Cell coverage was available but with limited connection.

This was a fantastic place to stay! Very clean and nice amenities. James was constantly in touch with me, which was great! The property is right off the main road and close to everything. Beds were very comfortable. Definitely felt like home away from home! We loved everything about the property and can't say enough good things about it!

We had a restful and stress free stay with the hosts. They are great hosts and plan on always staying with them when we are in the area. This place has been our home away from home several times now and have made plan to return in the future. Love the fairness, honesty and helpfulness of the hosts.

A repeated stay here and it was like coming home. Comfy, Cozy, and Convenient. Hosts were available if needed (which we didn't need), and provided what we needed for our stay. They are the best and take care of their guests like they are a part of their loving family. Will ALWAYS stay here if I am in the area and the place is available.

This VRBO is beautifully decorated and updated. Washer and dryer available, coffee makers, full kitchen. Many extras. The hosts, Carol and James, provided Amish bread and many treats left for us on the counter upon our arrival. Clean, cozy, and comfortable accommodations throughout. Great location close to downtown Berlin. I highly recommend this lovely home away from home. If I return to Berlin, I would happily stay here again.

We had an outstanding stay! We loved not having to do any stairs and having everything conveniently located on one floor. The air conditioning and dehumidifier provided a welcome respite from the summer weather we encountered while shopping. The water and icemaker on the refrigerator door made it easy for us to quickly fill our thermoses each morning. The full-size refrigerator provided plenty of room for beverages and other items we bought at the local markets. We will definitely stay here again on future trips.

This place was great for myself, my sister, my grandmother and my kids (3.5 & 19 months). The hosts provided local Amish bread and snacks in the rental when we arrived. Check in was super easy and when I had trouble with the lock, they helped right away. I would highly recommend staying here not only because the location but the hosts as well. Hopefully we will be back soon.

This was our annual trip to Amish Country but our first stay with James and Carol and we will certainly be staying with them again. The apartment was perfect. So clean and it had everything you could want. The full kitchen was what drew us to the place and it had everything we needed and all the extra touches throughout just added to the charm. It felt like home. I really liked the little book they had put together to tell about their Amish family history. The proximity to downtown Berlin was perfect and James was so polite and accommodating when we girls weren't so sure about how to operate the gas heater. Overall, you can't go wrong choosing to stay here.
