About this house rental
Tahoe is pet friendly and so are we! This inviting cabin is located in Tahoe Vista right off of highway 267, just minutes from Kings Beach and Northstar. The neighborhood is very quiet and the house is located right next to one of the Tahoe National Forest’s great hiking, biking and snowmobile trails. If you are looking for a spot nestled in the woods for your family or just with friends, this is it! You feel like you've really gotten away from it all being surrounded by the trees in our quiet neighborhood. It is a spacious home with an updated kitchen, idealistic gas fireplace and large living and dining area – perfect for families or a group of friends looking to unwind in beautiful North Lake Tahoe. Beautiful outdoor deck out that wraps around front the front of the house and onto a back deck that looks into the forest complete with lounge chairs and and outdoor dining set (only accessible during the summer/fall).
Whether you are headed up to ski or to hike or just to enjoy all that Lake Tahoe has to offer, our simple cozy home has all that you need. We are so close to all the hustle and bustle of the lake and even the Village at Northstar or Truckee but know that when you come back to your home away from home all you will experience is that quiet of the wind blowing through the trees, the birds chirping and the chipmunks and squirrels chasing each other.
Check in time is at 4pm and check out at 10:00am, if no other reservation is directly before or after yours I am almost always able to extend those times at no cost.
The three bedrooms can easily sleep six, four adults and two kids in the twin bunk beds (bunks not meant for anyone over 80 pounds). There is also a queen-sized pull out sofa in the loft area that sleeps an additional two. There are two full-sized bathrooms, one upstairs and one down.
*** NO GARAGE ACCESS ***
Entertainment features include a gas BBQ located off the side of the house that is covered for use all year round. Also included is a TV and BlueRay player with Netflix (NO CABLE OR SATELLITE OR LOCAL OR PREMIUM TV CHANNELS) as well as an assortment of BlueRay discs and board games to choose from. Because we are back in nature the cellular service is spotty AT BEST. We offer free wifi and you can enable wifi calling on your cell phone or text the home number to someone you need to speak with and they can call in (just no outgoing long distance calls). It's a nice way to unplug (as much as possible) and get away from it all. Enjoy!
We are not responsible for weather related issues like road closures, power outages and WiFi outages. These are out of our control and are not guaranteed. Last minute cancellation due to these issues is subject to approval and will incur a fee to be deducted from any potential refund.

Beautiful location, cozy cabin close to skiing and woods. Great for families and nature lovers.

It had everything we needed! Fireplace, close proximity to Northstar and woods behind it! Only complaint would be to have some shampoo and conditioner.

Property located in a wonderful area. Comfy home close to Northstar and the Tahoe National Forest. We had a great time skiing and sledding with the kids and grandkids.

We took the family to enjoy playing in the snow and we were blessed with plenty of it. The house was nice and cozy and plenty of room. Nice neighborhood too!

When we arrived to the house we discovered that housekeeping had not come to clean up from the previous tenants. I was able to make contact with the owner eventually and the cleaners were sent out late evening to clean. It was definitely inconvenient but we were issued a partial refund for the troubles. The WiFi isn’t very strong and there is little to no cell service, which is fine but just plan ahead if you need to look up travel stuff etc. This isn’t the fanciest house but it’s cozy and definitely has that mountain cabin feel to it.

My husband and 11yr old son had a blast. We arrived to a snowplowed driveway! The stairs had pads on them to melt the snow, nice! My son played on his sled in the front yard and down the street. Tons of soft snow all around us. We went for a snowmobile tour 3 miles away and had a wonderful day. The house is definitely clean, gently used, and dated. Not fancy, but gets the job done. The neighborhood is wonderful backing up to state park. Would love to go back in the summer if we could afford it.

We had a great stay in Kingswood Estates with 2 families. Cabin was just what needed for some downtime, snow play, and a walk in the woods. Loved that the Tahoe Rim Trail is just outside their back door. Owners were super easy to communicate with. A great experience for us!

I searched for homes for our first Destination Christmas with our kids and their spouses. We really didn’t know what to expect, but this place exceeded all of our expectations. It was beautiful, spacious, had everything in the kitchen that we needed. Cara was awesome to talk to, and quick to respond to our questions. There was lots of snow and we all had a wonderful time! Thank you so much for a very memorable Christmas!

We have stayed here several times and love the location. We arrived to find a shattered window from a bear break in and has a lot of glass top clean up. Owners were able to come board up the window for the rest of our stay. Owners are responsive to requests and allow dogs, which is huge help in discouraging visit from bears while we are there. Thank you too Cara and Carlo!

Came up to the property with a group of friends, spent a significant amount of time at the beach which was only 10-15 minutes away, had a great stay. Place was clean and comfortable.

Enjoying the forest around us
We hiked, forest right outside the back door, sat on the beautiful deck enjoying the forest still right outside the back door. So peaceful.
Being here in the snow would be beautiful.
If you require internet service this may not be the place for you.

Comfortable home for family stay
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this property. We love that our whole family including dog are welcome and we have a comfortable place to stay close to trails in the Tahoe area. Owner is responsive to questions, or concerns and property is always clean when we arrive.

Peaceful, clean home in the woods
If you are looking for some peace and quiet with nearby trails and beautiful mountain woods, this home will fit the bill. It’s only a couple miles from all the action on Lake Tahoe. This two-story home has a nice layout and is very clean. It has a very homey feel to it. Perfect for two couples to share or a family of 4-6. We would absolutely return again, we liked it that much.

Great Host, Comfy House, Good Location
This place was a great fit for our family. It is close to the slopes for the skiers, nestled in a beautiful neighborhood next to the woods, and just up the hill from the town. The house was very clean and comfortable. As some of the other reviewers mentioned the wifi is not the greatest, so if you plan or need to stay conected during your visit, this may not be the place for you. The owner was very responsive throughout our reservation. We had a great time and would love to visit again.

Great getaway and as advertised.
Cara's place is pretty much as described. Location is <10 minutes to King's Beach. We had good snow which allowed for some nice sled runs behind the house. It looked like you could do some nice X-country skiing in the woods behind the house but we were lazy and went downhill instead at Mt. Rose. (Northstar is much closer but we like Mt Rose better.)

Great Pet Friendly Cabin near Kings Beach
Great cabin in a great location. Messages from the owner came quickly and included all of the information needed for our stay. The owners are very accommodating when it comes to staying with dogs and the pet fee is very reasonable. No complaints, everything was in order and we had everything that we needed.

Great home with awesome location.
The layout of the house worked great for us. And the access to the forest right out the back door was incredible.

Great little house close to Northstar
Cute house in great location. Close to everything yet felt off the beaten path. Only downside is that in the age of Zoom calls etc the internet is fairly weak. Not an issue if you’re truly getting away from it all, but many like me are able to combine work with play these days.

family ski/birthday weekend
Nice property in a great location. Close to skiing and the Lake. A beautiful neighborhood setting with a secluded feel-protected forest land in the backyard. Our adult children could of used more bandwidth to work remotely but they got by. This was an excellent place for our birthday celebration and ski adventure.

Quick response from the managers when we couldn’t figure out the TV. Clean place with comfortable beds and a roomy kitchen. Right next to a beautiful trail for hiking.

New Years Miracle
We were so lucky to have secured this lovely cabin last minute - it was a New Years miracle and an amazing way to start out 2021! The cabin is well equipped with all you could ever need w - dishes, pots/pans, linens and games. So many gorgeous views out every window. The floorplan lends itself to multiple families staying together yet having space for privacy. The family room with beautiful wood beams and big windows allowed us to truly feel like we were in a winter wonderland, complete with cozy fireplace and falling snow. Backing to the forest and being so close to trail head made roaming in nature an added bonus. Cara was exceptional, responsive and helpful with everything. We look forward to coming back. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Clearly a place that is loved by its owner. Our only comment would be that we arrived a bit early and observed the cleaning lady still cleaning inside and not wearing a mask and with windows closed. That's not ideal, obviously. We aired the place out well and did a good amount of disinfecting ourselves and all went fine, but it would be ideal to think that the cleaning crew would be well masked and would also do its own airing out ahead of guest arrival.

Cabin Getaway
Beautiful location backing up to the forest. Also conveniently located close to Lake Tahoe. Great cabin for families. Good kitchen setup for cooking and grilling. Wi-Fi is very iffy: phones had trouble staying connected and laptops would not connect at all.

R&R Retreat
It was a great place to stay. We had everything we needed. Thank you Cara and Family for letting us enjoy your humble abode. Nice views, great hiking areas very close by and national Forrest right in your back yard. We did see a bear while we were here so that was a unique experience in itself. It didn’t bother us it just walked away. Added a little excitement to our stay!! How often does that happen? Never!! Once in a lifetime experience PRICELESS!!! Enjoy this peaceful cozy retreat.

Minor things that needed taken care of, would've of made it wonderful.
