About this cabin rental
Lakefront - Premier Views! Look no further, we have your Rustic Colorado Mountain Cabin waiting for you! Wooden 2-Bedroom Cabin crafted in the late '40s and upgraded each season.
Our Shanty Chic roomy cabin on the Lake is loaded with mountain-style design and beautiful custom landscaping. The cabin is all on one floor and easy to move around in.
The cabin offers a sunny, gourmet kitchen and is stocked for your culinary needs!
There is also a kitchen nook with window seating and a full bathroom off the kitchen.
Both bedrooms have newer medium firm queen mattresses and charming decor.
The living room and dining room have high-beam ceilings, and glass double doors that open to a wood deck that boasts gorgeous views of the lake.
Deck overlooking the lake with a picnic table, and patio chairs to enjoy time outside. Below the deck is another picnic table.
This cabin accommodates 4 adults, but can also sleep a maximum of two children under 10 on the pull-out couch, a $30.00 linen charge will be added.
We offer satellite programming with movie channels like HBO and complimentary Wi-Fi.
No smoking.
All pets must be approved in advance, with one to two dogs allowed for a separate $50 charge. Any pets left in the cabin alone must be crated, no exceptions! READ PET POLICY!
We have two independent cabins next to one another in a friendly neighborhood that offers secluded access to the shoreline shared with the neighboring cabin. Nothing but trees and a 100' natural, deer trail (which can be steep at points) down to your private spot, where you can swim, fish, and enjoy!
Our two cabins are next to one another on our 1/3 acre hillside lakefront property (it's easier down than up!) and offer our guests a "Shared" 3-person rowboat, SUP, both with oars & life jackets, two fishing poles, and a tackle box all to enhance your vacation.
You are responsible for your family's safety.
If you choose to use the trail and any of our outdoor gear you are doing so "At your own risk". Everyone is not physically able to use the trail or the equipment. Any equipment used must be handled with care and lifted to the water and back to a designated area to keep it from being swept into the water.
Life jackets must be worn when in the lake, and we have several standard-size jackets,
bring your life jacket if you need a specific size.

Our small neighborhood has many majestic trees and because of this trash companies cannot use their hydraulic lift to pick up containers, all cabins use dumpsters on the main road and guests are responsible for taking their trash out.
To ensure all guests have the best experience, upon your arrival, I will try to meet with you to personally provide information on the cabin, neighborhood, and any related information you may want about the area to ensure your time at the lake is a success. One week before your stay, I will reach out to you and let you know the location of the keys, helpful tips on parking, and finding the cabin in case you arrive before me. I live in the area and am available 24/7 with any questions or concerns you may have during your stay.

Rene was a great hostess. The view was great. The lake was nearby, the kids loved swimming in the lake. Deer walked up to the property, which the kids loved.

We had a wonderful stay at this lakeside cabin. The view from this living room is just stunning. Renee was incredibly helpful and attentive. We would absolutely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was so lovely to be on a lake and sit and just chill out. We had everything we needed to make our stay pleasurable.

The cabin was wonderful. The path going down to the water was essy going down but coming back up was really tuff. I'm 71 years old and have some health issues but for someone younger it wouldn't be a problem. I would definitely stay here again. The view of the lake was amazing.

We enjoyed our time at this comfortable, peaceful cabin. The view is beautiful and Rene went out of her way to address any needs we had.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was nice and clean and had all the amenities that were promised. We brought all our own food and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The cabin and rooms were very spacious. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, very quiet setting. Although there are several neighbors quite close, we never heard anything from any of them. The view of the lake from the cabin is spectacular and we enjoyed sitting on the deck having coffee in the mornings. Everything was quite comfortable and the beds are fantastic!
I only have one complaint which I already discussed with René. When the sun rises over the mountains, it comes through the east facing windows (on the lake side of the cabin) and it’s absolutely blinding. We had to prop up towels in the windows with ski poles for a few hours every morning. This could easily be fixed with a couple of pull-down shades in those windows.
We’re pretty close in Albuquerque, so we will definitely consider coming back.

Great place
Very nice hostess

The host was very friendly and informative. The cabin was cute and the beds were comfortable. However, the sofa was extremely uncomfortable, covered in dog hair and needs to be replaced. The overstuffed chair was fairly comfortable but the biggest issue I had was the cleanliness. There was dog hair everywhere. I accidently dropped something and it rolled under the sofa - oh my god - there was enough hair underneath to cover a small dog. Same under the beds and other furniture including the coffee table legs. The baseboards were filthy with dirt buildup and dog hair. I realize it is an old cabin that's been renovated but it needs a thorough cleaning. The dishes had dried food on them, the dish drainboard needs to be cleaned, the kitchen faucet needs to cleaned, etc, etc. I'm not a clean freak and I don't normally leave a bad review but if it had been cleaner I would have given it a 5-star rating.

The location was exactly what I was looking for. It had the feeling of seclusion, quick access to the lake, and a quiet setting. The deck was my favorite feature, very peaceful. We had everything we needed inside and out. The communication with the renter was outstanding.

The cabin was just as we hoped. It was a long the lake. We fished, ate outside and saw several deer. Would recommend for anyone to stay here.

It was a great place to stay with everything we needed and we cooked all our meals. I loved the deck with the view of the lake, pines, and aspens. It was a wonderful place to stay and play.

Rene is an excellent communicator!
The amenities were simple but adequate!!
We liked the glute work ascending the deer path to the lake!! Grateful the marina boat launch was close b/c ferrying our kayaks along the deer path was a no go!

Too close to neighbors
Positives: view off back porch was gorgeous! Property was clean and cabin was comfortable. Rene was pleasant and helpful.
Negatives: the back porch and the neighbors back porch are adjacent; so close that we could pass things to one another with just a slight stretch and hear each other’s conversations if just above a whisper. Thankfully our neighbors were friendly and respectful, but not what we had in mind.
I’m saying that, nothing the owner can do about it, but I just feel potential guest need to be aware in making their plans. (This could be a plus for some)

The cabin was very comfortable for 4 adults. Lots of outdoor furniture to sit on with a great view of the lake. Very relaxing and quiet location.

Rene is a GREAT communicator. If you need anything, just ask. She gave us advice before we got there and even let us in about an hour early. (It was raining hard so we didn't really have anywhere to go.) The cabin is FABULOUS! We had two teens, two adults, and a small dog. There is a TON of space inside and on the porch to hang out together or apart.
It was really clean when we checked in. Keep in mind this is a cottage on a lake, not a hotel in Manhattan, so it has charm and quirkiness. The bedrooms were comfy with plenty of storage. There are tables inside & outside for meals and hanging out, so you can be inside if the weather turns. (We were there during the afternoon rain season.)
The hill down to the water is steep and rocky. There's a trail, but as you get closer to the water, it gets rockier and there isn't a sandy beach. We live in CO so we are used to this. There are flatter "day" spaces down the road. If you have physical limitations, make sure you are really clear about what will work for you.
The cabin is in a community of sorts. A gathering of individual & groups of cabins. They range from really nice to very rustic. Our neighbors in Rene's other cabin, which is very close, were really nice. Our first night, someone in the neighborhood played loud music.
The eggs from R's hens when we arrived were a definite treat! We also appreciated that there were some basic seasonings, like lemon pepper and some popular Trader Joe's blends. If you need something specific that you forgot, there's a country store a short drive away.
Although local brochures say there are walking paths around parts of the lake, we couldn't find anything near the cabin. We didn't feel like the road would be a safe place to walk, so we drove to other areas around the lake and found some beautiful picnic spots, views, and creeks to explore.
This lake is quite clear for a CO reservoir. It seems like it isn't as busy as some other places we've been, so the silt doesn't get kicked up much. We brought two SUPs to use in addition to the kayak & canoe; we left them on the shore during our stay b/c walking them up the hilll was tough.
We stayed in July and the nights remained in the mid to high 50s, so it was comfortable. We used the fans and opened the windows at night. The one bathroom was fine & typical for an older place. Plenty of towels. When I had trouble lighting the stove the first night, Rene responded quickly via text.
Lovely place. Gorgeous views. :)
