Hôtel très bien placé. Chambre plutôt propre et personnel serviable et agréable
Petit déjeuner immangeable : le 2eme jour nous sommes allés à l’extérieur.
Ascenseur sans porte un peu étonnant au départ

I appreciate the dealings of Reception staff. The way they interact with Guest is really great.
The break fast was not good. They have to keep a water kettle inside room for guest.

Staff is great, sleep was good

Nothing went well.
Grand Palace? Lol. The place rather looks like from a horror movie set. The hotel is on the 6th floor of an abandoned looking building. Broken lift.
At check in they told us they needed to keep our passports for 30 minutes until the system builds up.
We needed to ask to change the bedsheets because they were dirty. Hair on the pillow.
No hot water at all.
Dirty, absolutely dirty room, wires sticking out of the wall, paint patches all over the floor, mold on the balcony. I honestly thought cockroaches will run around at any second.
Way too noisy from the street below.
At breakfast the coffee was foamy from not being washed, rinsed properly. 2 pieces of old roll with some cheese.
Just run!

Good location, easy to get to things. Open 24/7
Need a bit more modernization

It is a block from the Egyptian Museum.
The pictures are quite deceiving. The hotel is located on the 6th floor of a rundown 8-story multi-purpose building in the heart of downtown Cairo. Unless there is someone in the lobby to receive you, you will have to climb 6 stories to find the entrance to the hotel.
The room leaves much to desire. The walls were dirty and the paint was peeling away in various spots. It furniture is old and scratched up. The bed linens consist of a fitted sheet and a duvet that makes you wonder how often they are washed.
The bathroom is missing the most basic toiletries such as toilet paper, soap, and shampoo/conditioner; the shower doesn’t drain and therefore overflows into the bathroom.
As for the check-in process, I had to pay cash dollars since they didn’t have a way to process a credit card payment. And to top that off, they asked me to replace two of the bills because “they were too old”.

Only a few steps from the museum.
The quality of our room was above expectations based on the other reviews.
We had a room with a nice view of downtown Cairo, the museum and the Nile in the distance.
The rest of the building is in very poor shape. The hotel floor is renovated however.
The breakfast was nothing special (buns, tea and jam) but enough to get some food in you to start the day.

- Very friendly and kind staff.
- Daily cleaning.
- Breakfast is not satisfying.
- Mold in rooms.
- Shower has no walls or curtains, so when you take a shower, water will be on floor and won't go through sewer.
- No free shampoo or shower gel (don't forget to take it with yourself)

The hotel is very clean, quiet, and well run. It is also very close to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, and the staff are all really friendly and hardworking. I will go back to GPH on my next trip to Cairo, too. : ) It was a great stay for me, all 'round!
To be honest, there was nothing negative during my time there.

Good location.
The hotel is one floor of a ten story building that is being heavily renovated. Very small, messy elevator to get to the 6th floor hotel. Had to pay cash at sign in, no credit card accepted. Breakfast was minimal.

Perfect hotel for this money! Everything clean. There are different rooms, just ask to show what's available. So pity that I didn't stay here from the beginning. First night I spent in City Palace hotel (terrible place with dirty entrance, stairs, rats, mold on the walls). So Grand Palace hotel become like a paradise after. Even the street more pleasant and calm Don't be scared and feel free to book it
Absolutely satisfied for this money

The hotel was well located, in a centric location yet quiet enough. A good size room, spacious and nice, with very comfy beds. They were also extremely helpful at the reception when I requested changes in the reservation, also arranged transport to the airport with a very friendly taxi driver. They spoke good English and were very fast in replying to any question/ request.
Very minor detail, a towel mat could have been useful next to the shower and a bit of shampoo (though I had my own so I did not mind).
