-location is near the railway station.
-Quiet.
-The bathroom compartment included within the room was a major flaw for me especially when I needed to use it and my roommate is sitting just outside. Really awful.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Airport transfer only 300 EP. Rooms clean and functional. In the middle of downtown but I felt safe.
Breakfast not until 9am. Needs to be earlier so as to beat the heat and get on with the day. Air conditioning was not working properly.

Very clean rooms and welcoming staff. They provided an excellent breakfast, comfortable beds and rooms, and a fascinating historical building. The location was ideal and they didn't hesitate to keep our bags for the extra day before our flight in the evening.
The extensive climb up to the rooms was challenging with our very heavy luggage. The place was a little difficult to find and needs an elevator for all practical purposes.

New Palace Hotel is tremendous. I booked at midnight, arrived 1.30 am , and didn't have local currency. Mustafa the night manager was so welcoming and said don't worry ,rest and can sort out next day. The rooms are large , comfortable and have balconies with views. Comfortable beds, clean and good wifi. Lovely classic building with great ,helpful and friendly security. Cleaning staff are so good. Great breakfast if required. Mustafa, Soliman, Mohammed and the lovely lady who all rotate on the front desk, managerial job are so helpful, friendly and great at their job. And English speaking. A special mention of Sammi who helped with so many things . Great job Sammi. This hotel is such good value for the price. You could spend so much more on other hotels not nearly as good. This hotel is in the heart of Downtown Cairo. 5 mins walk to the center. You couldn't find a more convenient location for all the popular places to visit. Near subway as well. I will be back here as soon as possible. I call it my home in the magnificent city of CairoNew Palace Hotel
I liked everything. I highly recommend to all.

Location
Water pressure too low. Room too cold and no heater to warm up.
Everything very old. Worst hotel to stay after so many years of travelling.

You get what you pay for. Their customer service is excellent. The manager - Mr. Masood who joined 3 months ago was friendly and helpful. They took care of customers needs and their breakfast services were good. There is no security issue which is usually a problem here in Egypt but it wasn't a problem here.
They guided us regarding transportation etc without trying to rip us off. Although they offer tours (surprisingly at economical prices) they still guided us.
However, do not expect 3,4,5 star hotel rooms because the infrastructure isn't impressive. It looks old and small but they make it up with their customer service and security. Moreover, they are still working on the hotel and improving their rooms etc.

The hotel is in downtown Cairo.. close to metro and train station, so you have good conectivity. Overall it has a good value for the money.
Because it is located in the central part it is noisy .

Amazing location, rigth in the center of Cairo, so that makes it easier to explore the city even on foot. The staff is very respectful and helpful, one time they even bought the breakfast to our room. They have a kind of roof top terrace, from which you can check out the city, which was a cool addition. You get what you pay for I think.
It can be troublesome to find the hotel for the first time, as it is located on the sixth floor of some pretty run down building in a street where car parts are being sold. The elevator experience is pretty sketchy, as it lacks a door, but this is not the first time I have seen this, just worth to mention. The whole hotel has a feeling of long lost grandness, with pictures of guests from the 90s, giving major Shining (the movie) vibes. Kinda scary and sad, but interesting to see. Let me be clear, our room was one of the worst ones I have ever stayed at. The furniture seemed like a bad joke stylistically and the french beds, all though there we two of them, were quite small, so not the best for a couple, unless you are divorced I guess or just had an argument. Hot water you may ask? It is possible to get it, but not without the help of the staff, at least for us, same with the extermination of mosquitoes (no lack of them), feasting on us every single night. Not to worry, as we couldn't really sleep anyways, because of the constant noises coming from the streets below, ranging from dog barking to car honking, making sure we were just awake enough to fight off the hoards of mosquitoes. Once again very romantic and to be fair, truly, a real bonding experience. It's very sad to see how the staff reacts to critical reviews, never taking them to the heart, always denying and blaming the guests. I hope the hotel soon can return to it's former glory. After all that said, I still think you kinda get what you pay for.

The hotel is very close to Orabi metro station which is great. The staff are very helpful. I have good memories! Sami and King Soleiman (how I called the main receptionist!) are great people. I miss you guys!

The host is very friendly. We had no problem staying late at night. He took us to apply for a phone card and exchange Egyptian pounds the next day. The exchange rate was even better than online. We were very happy, and he was also very helpful in helping us refer to the itinerary and Planning the route, helped us arrange a very good Chinese tour guide in Cairo, the boss also invited us to dinner, I think he is a very friendly person, knowing that we are students, it is very cheap to arrange
