About this house rental
This 100 year old, single-story, historic adobe home was recently completely remodeled. It maintains its Santa Fe charm while offering you all the modern amenities, from king size beds to high end stainless steel appliances and all the accessories you will need to feel at home. The original hand-hewn viga ceilings are exquisite, the thick adobe walls masterfully done, the brick floors add warmth to the entire house. The courtyard is the ultimate sanctuary, the beautifully landscaped yard wraps around the house, the patio with its wrought iron furniture makes this the perfect place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just wine with friends as you enjoy the always perfect climate of Santa Fe. With double adobe walls, Casa de la Fuente stays warm in winter and cool in summer but when temps are unseasonably warm the home also boasts newly installed Ductless Air Conditioning in both master bedrooms that cools the entire home.
The historic neighborhood is quiet and there is a feeling of warmth and friendliness. Take a stroll to one of the fine restaurants close by and enjoy the history all around you. From the narrow european feeling streets to the high steps and raised porches from the days of the horse and carriage.
Casa del la Fuente is named for the lovely fountain which adorns the beautifully maintained flowering garden with its meandering flagstone paths. There are colorful flowers blooming all spring, summer and into the fall. There are several places to sit and relax with a beverage and listen to the birds while in the privacy of adobe walls.
As you relax and enjoy one of the three portals you can hear the church bells ringing from the Santaurio de Guadalupe just a block away. It is one of the many historic buildings you can tour while visiting this beautiful old city. Santa Fe boasts having the oldest government building, the oldest house and the oldest church in the US. History abounds down every street. Exciting art galleries and shopping for one of a kind jewelry and art pieces. Travel back in time to 'The City Different' with it's European ambience.
There are works of art in every room that reflect the artisans of New Mexico. The decor reflects the warmth and beauty of Santa Fe. In the cooler months you are enticed into just relaxing and enjoying a fire in the pueblo style fireplace. The home has all of the amenities you could want and is within EASY walking distance to everything.
You can't beat this location, a 5 to 10 minute walk and you're at the Santa Fe Plaza; 5 minutes past the Plaza to Canyon Rd with all its galleries; 5 minutes the opposite direction and you're at San Busco Mall; 5 minutes past that and you're at the Railyard area where the farmers' market, galleries, restaurants, train depot and so much more await you.
We invite you to stay at our home and fall in love with all that Santa Fe has to offer. Casa de la Fuente, with it's adobe ambiance and beautiful decor will add old world charm to your visit.

Great old house. Definitely would try to procure again.

Two substantial bedrooms, the master bath is spacious, with tub/shower, separate toilet, lots of counter space and drawers. The second bath is smaller, with shower and sink, toilet, but no horizontal counter around sink. There is good storage space in large tall cabinet. Great kitchen dining area, equipped with every appliance or dish you'll need.
We've been renting houses in the summer for the opera, since 2012. This house is perfect for two couples.

All-around excellent stay at Mary's property. She was so friendly, helpful and communicative. We loved her charming house.

Mary's property was perfect for our little group of 4 adults, bested only by Mary herself. The home is cozy, CLEAN, and laid out thoughtfully, with high-end fixtures and features that make a vacation rental so much more pleasant than many faceless hotels. We lounged in the living room, prepped meals in the very well-equipped kitchen, and slept soundly in the dark, quiet bedrooms. Thank you Mary!

This was a Mother’s Day birthday weekend for my mom (91), daughter , sister and myself. I only wish we had more time to enjoy this lovely adobe home. We plan to come back to do so. Easy walk to historic district. Owner is super helpful with suggestions for us first timers. I’d give it 6 stars if I could !

Our host, Mary, made sure we had everything we needed and checked in to make sure we were comfortable.
Adorable, traditional one hundred year old adobe home. Two beds and baths perfect for 2 couples. We enjoyed wine on the patio while grilling dinner.
Half mile walk to the plaza. Plenty of restaurants, parks, groceries and churches nearby.
Totally enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!

We were within easy walking distance to the downtown area and railyard. We came for the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta and even that was an easy walk. The house is a charming adobe style in a very quiet neighborhood.

The home was wonderful. Very clean, fully stocked with lots of little extras like adjustable firmness beds, towel warmer, dog run area, etc. We spent lots of time on the front and side porches, and really enjoyed the neighborhood and ability to be outside in it. The Plaza and Railroad Yard were both very close and, except to go on hikes, we wouldn't have even needed a car. Inside, the skylights made the home very warm and bright. In short, it was a great place to stay!

This quaint propert far exceeded our expectations. The house was amazing with everything you could possibly need provided for you ( except food and drink of course). The location was walking distance to the Railyard and the Plaza. Went to Taos and extended our historic search. House is in a quiet neighborhood. Sitting outside in the portal with wine and beer and great friends was the absolute best! Mary is amazing and VERY responsive. We will most definitely be back.

The property is perfect. 3 private little porches. The fireplace was awesome because the nights got cold. King master bedroom had a sleep number bed and it was fantastic. All week we each kept finding collected items they have acquired for that Santa Fe/Southwest region/Indian vibe. We loved Casa del la Fuento and would for sure stay there again!

Charming 2 bedroom adobe home with lots of firewood available for cozy warm fires that heat the house (along with heating/AC in each room.) The kitchen was set up well for cooking or heating up food from delicious nearby restaurants. Owner was helpful and available if there was a need. We'd love to revisit Santa Fe and stay again at this cute house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our “pre-Christmas” stay at Casa de la Fuente! It started with the location – the quiet and quaint neighborhood is conveniently located a short walk (albeit a brisk one when we were there!) to both the Plaza and the Railyard District (and its bustling Farmers Market on Saturdays --- even in December!!). The location and the driving directions provided made the casita very easy to get to and the off-street parking (for 2 cars) was a huge bonus – especially since your car will likely stay parked there your entire stay (see “location” above)! The kitchen was fully stocked with all the appliances, dishes, pots/pans, etc that you could ever need. The fact that both bedrooms were furnished with King Beds and with en suite bathrooms made it the perfect place for two couples and made the house feel much bigger than it was. The instructions that were provided were focused more on what the casita offered and less on what not to do or what you couldn’t do, which was a refreshing change from other VRBO’s and made the stay even more comfortable. And the instructions, from building a fire in the kiva fireplace to operating the furnace to arming/disarming the security system, were very easy to follow. Finally, the “check-out” to do list was VERY minimal. In other VRBO’s, after stripping beds, doing laundry, cleaning out the fridge, etc., we’ve wondered what our cleaning fees were for. At Casa de la Fuente, there were specific instructions to not strip the sheets and to leave any perishables in the fridge – which allowed us to focus on packing up (and allowed for more time to enjoy the casita on our last day). In summary, a great trip to Santa Fe made possible by a great experience at Casa de la Fuente! We’ll definitely be back!!

Your home provided a lovely and warm base for our long stay. So chic and Santa Fe appointed we felt like locals. The daily breakfast at Mille’s, a local French bistro, was a big hit. All of the art galleries and restaurants are a 10-15 minute walk or an easy Uber ride. We’ll definitely be back!
