About this cabin rental
The cares of the world will totally disappear as you arrive and become part of a unique and tranquil surrounding that will revitalize your senses.
This magnificent property of 114 acres of trees, hills and meadows encircle the house which fronts a four and half-acre lake surrounded by six landscaped gardens. There are also two one-acre ponds with its own islands. Streams and several beautiful waterfalls run throughout the property. Sunbathe, row a boat or fish during the day—start a campfire, stargaze or take a night stroll and listen to the frogs and crickets. You can hike the 114 acres or the adjoining 650-acre New York’s Forest Preserve.
The lake is suitable for swimming. The area around the dock has a sandy bottom allowing easy access to the water without having to wade through a mud bottom. There is a raft in the middle of the lake, which you can swim to or sunbathe on.
A rowboat, kayak and canoe are available for your use. Fishing is permitted. The lake contains largemouth and smallmouth bass, perch, catfish and crappies. The small 1-acre pond is home to our “pet” rainbow trout. We call them our “pets” as we feed them but do not fish in that one location. It's something that our guests have greatly enjoyed doing.
The log cabin home is approximately 200 feet from the lake and we have enlarged the deck to extend the entire length of the house. The log cabin has original knotty pine wood throughout. The kitchen and both bathrooms have been completely renovated. The kitchen has new cabinets, appliances and granite counter tops. The wall between the kitchen and living room was removed, creating a great room that is at once larger yet more involving. The upstairs bathroom has a new glass block window and tub. The tub area has been tiled and the vanity has a granite countertop. The downstairs bathroom features a new glass enclosed tiled shower, floor and refurnished walls.
The living room contains a stone fireplace for cool evenings and winter days. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs with an added daybed in the downstairs lounge area. The house can accommodate up to eight people. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds. The third has a day bed that, when opened, can sleep two comfortably. The downstairs lounge area can accommodate two comfortably as well.
House amenities include wireless internet, cell phone service and streaming television. We have Apple TV and If you have a Netflix or iTunes account you can download movies directly.
Our newest amenity is a 1000 SF playhouse across the driveway that we call the Trianon that is sure to add even more ways to relax during your stay. It has been completely rebuilt and offers Wi-Fi , large screen TV with Sonos stereo, a majestic fireplace, ping pong, many board games, multiple seating areas, coffee bar and more. Air conditioning and heat make it a year round spot and is also ideal for a rainy day. A separate room offers dozens of outdoor games, sporting items, swimming floats and even fishing gear to test your luck!
Tennis, golf, biking and antique shopping begin within a five minute drive. Attractions include: Belleayre Mountain and Plattekill ski resorts, summer concerts, Roxbury Arts Center, and Hannah Golf Resort, to name a few. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is a little over one hour away and the Baseball Hall of Fame is 1 1/2 hours away. If fly fishing is of interest you may consider visiting the Fly Fishing museum. For more information visit https://cffcm.com/ .Though the property feels completely isolated from the world, it is located just two miles from the village of Margaretville which has a large, fully stocked supermarket, hospital, shops, banks, gas stations, veterinarian and restaurants. Many surrounding hamlets and villages offer additional eateries and quaint shopping experiences.

Guests loved the gorgeous and well-maintained property with beautiful views, great activities like fishing and kayaking, and a fantastic game room. Gracious hosts made the stay special!

The property and accommodations were excellent, in extremely good condition and well-appointed. Hosts were welcoming and helpful. Dogs were happier than we have ever seen them when not at home. A superb place to unwind, spend time with family and friends, and be relaxed. Clean, clear lake for kayak, rowboat and swimming. Lovely flower gardens, several firepits, marked trails in the woods, and on and on. Could not recommend more highly!

The property is gorgeous. It’s very large, well taken care of, and offers beautiful views and privacy. Even tho it rained, the kids had so much fun, fishing, catching frogs and salamanders. The Trianon was awesome, especially since the weather was rainy. Enjoyed our time there very much. Met Kim and John and they were lovely!!

This is a beautifully maintained property with gracious, accommodating, hosts. Our group ranged in age from 8 to 70+ and we were all happy and as busy as we wanted to be. One of our best Catskills stays yet!

We had an amazing week at Tree Topp Acres. We enjoyed swimming, exploring the many different areas of the property, hiking to the waterfalls, kayaking and fishing. The property is absolutely beautiful! Words can’t describe how well maintained everything is and how gorgeous all the flower gardens are. Props to the landscapers! The Trianon was a great place to escape the rain. We had a lot of fun playing on the ping pong table. Our dog had the time of her life running around the huge lawn, walking the trails, and swimming. She also became obsessed with trying to befriend all the frogs near the shore of the lake. Fugly is such a cute tradition. Of course we had to go hunt for him on our first day! It was fun re-hiding him and leaving a clue for the next guests. Thank you so much Kim for sharing your beautiful property with us and being a great host!!! We hope to revisit in the future!

We had a great family get together at the treetopp rental property. The property was very amenable to everyone of us, including our 2 infants. The views around the property are amazing. The landscaping is immaculate. There are some trails around the property/in the woods that are fun to explore. The game room was a great spot to retreat to in the occasional rainstorm that we encountered. Margaretville is a quaint town a short drive away that has a grocery store, coffee shops, and restaurants. The ice cream at the “Bun and Cone” was delicious.

Me, my fiancé and 4 small dogs stayed at this property for the first time in June 2023, and let me just say that the photos don't do this place justice (and the photos are beautiful as you can see)!
From the moment we pulled into the long private driveway and saw the meticulously landscaped property overlooking a sizeable, clean pond, we knew we made the right choice. The house was also more homey than we anticipated and had all the amenities you could want (washing machine, dryer, two bathrooms, nice flatscreen TV, automatic lights at night when we let the dogs out to go pee, etc).
The icing on the cake was the Trianon, which boasts a tall ceiling and spacious room with a mini bar, board games, ping pong table and flatscreen TV - it also has perfect acoustics for the guitar I brought.
While all of this was great, what we appreciated most was the graciousness of our hosts, Kim and John, who arrived Saturday evening and left Sunday evening. During this time, they were so considerate, offering to pick up some food on the way to the market and providing doggie steps, etc. to our dogs they had used in the past for their dog, Hugz. Our 15 year old senior was so very grateful. :) And all of our dogs were grateful each time they stepped outside and could roam freely around the huge beautiful grounds.
Lastly, this vacation almost never happened due to wildfires in Canada affecting NY's air quality. Kim took off a night for us at no charge so we would come when we felt safe! A++

My family and I had such an amazing stay at this breathtaking oasis in the woods. Kim was kind and easy to communicate with, even checking in to ensure we were doing well. The property is beyond amazing with vast forests and hiking trails, we never even left because there was so much to explore! We would definitely love to return at different times of the year to experience other seasons. I bet it would be amazing in the summer or even the perfect winter wonderland. Thank you so much for being such a gracious host! We will definitely plan to return in the future!

couldn't ask for a more ideal property to explore for the weekend. clean house, easy check in and communication with the owner was perfect. We stayed on one of the last weekends in October and the area was absolutely amazing to see in its glorious fall colors as was the property. 100% recommend this home

Another wonderful stay at this property! We kayaked everyday, the water was warm for swimming, made fires in the brick oven and the fire pit, everyone caught fish, watched turtles and hummingbirds, we watched movies in the Trianon, grilled and cooked daily, all with attentive and gracious hosts Tom, Kim and John.... what more could you ask for in a property?? I'll be back yearly...

My husband, our grown children, two friends and I had a wonderful time in this beautiful rental. What made this place truly special is the property. The lake, woods and beautiful landscaping is amazing! The house had everything we needed for 7 adults. Sitting and having meals on the huge deck in evenings was just awesome. We all enjoyed using the boats and swimming. Our dog loved jumping off the dock to swim to us in the boats. Beautiful property

Once again this property did not disappoint. It is absolutely beautiful and you can’t help but have a sense of calm while admiring it. No lack of things to do, especially with the beautifully rebuilt game room. Stunning! Lovely family who own this piece of paradise, we are grateful that they share it.

My family of four, husband and two teenagers, just returned from a four night stay at Tom's property and it was truly magical. The property has it all, manicured gardens, fairy tale woods, rocky waterfalls, ponds, inviting grassy areas and so much more. One review stated it was like renting your own park and I couldn't agree more. We used the row boat and kayak many times a day for fishing and relaxing. We explored the woods and enjoyed a variety of flora and fauna and fungi. We rarely left the property except to eat at the Crazy River Café and Deli (highly recommend) and Freshtown grocery store. If your looking for a place to relax and reconnect with nature this is the place for you. The separate building was a wonderful refuge when it rained and for teenagers who need some space. Thank you Tom for sharing this amazing property with us, we look forward to returning!!

This property is just amazing. Although the pictures are very nice, they don’t come close to the real thing. The grounds are beautiful; from the ponds, to the fields, to the hiking paths through the woods, to the waterfalls, I could go on and on. Our dog Penny was beside herself being able to run and swim all day long. The house was nice as well. It was spotless (great cleaning crew) and so cozy and comfortable.
Tom and his family were wonderful hosts and such kind and generous people to share this little piece of heaven with others. I simply cannot recommend this place enough, there is no way you could possibly be disappointed here.

Stayed for a long weekend with family. Had a great time exploring the gorgeous property. There is fishing and trails to hike. And that’s just the outdoors. There is also a great “playhouse” where there is a ping pong table, many games and a large screen tv. Something for everyone. It provided an opportunity to have family time with our 2 adult children. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Rent with peace of mind. Tom and his family are gracious hosts. Cozy cabin in a beautiful setting. The little town of Margaretville is charming and conveniently close by. We hiked in the woods, fed the trout, visited the Pakatakan farmers market and had an huge supply of firewood for a warm fire each evening. Highly recommend Oakley’s for delicious pizza. A very quiet and lovely property!

We had such an amazing time exploring the property and made so many memories. We played games on the lawn, hiked to the falls, swam the lake, took advantage of the Kayak, enjoyed the new game room etc. We're already planning our next vacation here. Tom was a gentleman and was very accommodating. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to get away from the city. Nature at its best with so much to do and did I mention privacy?

I wish I could keep this property a secret! The property and home are beautiful. This is the place to go for total quiet and relaxation! We brought our son, who is in a wheelchair, and Tom was incredibly accommodating. We can’t thank Tom and his family enough for everything. It was the perfect vacation.

Despite a rainy Memorial weekend, we enjoyed the property and appreciated nature! The kids enjoyed the row boat, fishing, frogs, tadpoles, salamander, etc. The rain eased up on the last day and we were able to visit the falls. We met Tom and Bella, they very friendly. Tim gave us some great ideas, Bella enjoyed the kids and led us to the fall, we loved our stay.

My wife and I have stayed at dozens of rentals in the Catskills over 20 years and have never stayed at a more enchanting and truly spectacular place as Tree Topp Acres. From the expertly and meticulously manicured grounds to the incredible clean fish-filled lake, woods and waterfalls, we couldn't have been happier. The rental house was clean and well appointed with kitchen items, books, DVDs (even though in a week we didn't turn on the TV once) - and actual reading lamps by the bed (why to so many rentals NOT have reading lamps???). The lake was gorgeous and just big enough to make it nice to canoe or kayak around - and wonderfully swimmable. We are definitely coming back.

We couldn’t be happier with the beautiful and peaceful stay we had here. The grounds are breathtaking and so spacious. The kids had a blast looking for frogs , fishing ,row boating and going on walks exploring this huge property. The cabin is beautiful, spacious and very clean. We got to meet Tom and his sweet daughter Kim. They are such kind and friendly folks. I’d love to be their neighbor! We also met the 2 friendly adorable pups. Do not hesitate to book your trip here. There are no disappointments ! We will be back again to visit soon. Thank you Tom and Kim
