About this house rental
Whether you are looking for adventure, fun, relaxation or all of the above, our home in the woods is the perfect place for you! Our charming lodge styled home has three bedrooms and a bonus bunk room with tons of added amenities such as a screened in porch, hot tub, backyard with fire pit, wifi, and an awesome game room that has a full sized air hockey table, a full sized pool table, Tetris, a dart board, and an enormous chalkboard wall that is sure to keep the fun rolling, even on those rainy or lazy days and it's the perfect ending to a day out.
The spacious master bedroom, which is located on the main floor, has a queen sized bed and a panoramic view of the beautiful wooded backyard. Right off of the master bedroom is the bonus bunk room. The bunk bed is a twin over full and is ideal for someone with kids. The master bedroom and bunk room has a shared private bathroom with shower and each room comes equipped with a TV and DVD player. Please note that you have to walk through the bunk room to get to the master bedroom.
The bedroom on the third floor is very private and cozy. It has a queen sized bed and a private bathroom with shower. It also comes with a TV and DVD player.
The lower level is a private suite with a queen sized bed, love seat, chair with ottoman, large bathroom with shower, and your own wood burning stove! There is a private exit to the backyard and is steps away from the hot tub. Like the other bedrooms, this one also has a TV and DVD player.
The living room, kitchen, and eating area is an open floor plan with a cathedral ceiling in the living room. There is a sectional couch that can seat 6 or more and there's plenty of room to toss a pillow on the floor and watch a movie. Bring your own flick or grab one of ours. The living room has a TV, DVD player, Roku with Netflix subscription, a wood burning stove, french doors that open to a screened in porch, and a sliding door that opens to the back upper deck.
The kitchen is so charming, it will likely be your favorite room in the house. Pack lightly and use our coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and cups/mugs. There is an outhouse styled bathroom off of the kitchen/eating area.
We provide bed linens and bath towels. We do not provide beach towels. There is no cell service inside of the house, but we have a landline phone and WIFI that guests are welcome to use.
Things to do:
There are so many things to do in the Adirondacks, that I couldn't possibly name them all, but here are some of our favorite things!
Spending the day on beautiful Lake George and soaking up some sun. You can rent a boat, head to the beach, go parasailing, or take a tour on one of the awesome steamboats. The Minne Ha Ha or The Lac du Saint Sacrament are always a favorite and have many different types of cruises to offer. Chic's Marina is a great place to rent a boat for the day.
Taking a small hike to Bear Slide, which is a hidden, almost secret spot, right off of the Hudson River. Bring a tube and take a ride down a natural slide made out of rock, but be sure to pack the bug spray!
Head into Queensbury and spend the day at Six Flags Great Escape where you can ride the roller coasters and enjoy the water park all in one. Be sure to stop at Martha's for some dandee creme on your way out!
Cruise Lake George Village and take some Olde Time Photos, buy some souvenirs, and meet Frankenstein in front of the wax museum. If you are brave enough, go in and walk through the haunted house (I don't recommend this for small kids).
Tubing on the Hudson River is always a relaxing and fun time! You can bring your own raft and drive down the road or you can join a tour with Tubby Tubes.
Head to the movies, in your car! The Glen Drive Inn always offers a double feature, so you get two movies for the price of one.
I'm not one for crowded outlet malls on vacation, but I am a sucker for a good sale! The Factory Outlet Mall has tons of big name shops.
All of these excursions are located within 10-15 minutes of the property!
If you like to hike, please contact me for pinned locations and hiking suggestions.

Everything about the house and our stay was amazing! Annmarie was wonderful to work with for
Start to finish. She is very clear and communicates in a very timely manner.
The house was exactly as described. The highlights for the kids was the game room and hot tub!!! A lot of space and very comfortable. A great Adirondack feel - a house in the woods! We also loved the fire pit - bonus was being right next to the hot tub!!
The location was great - we explored Lake George, Prospect Mountain, took a day trip to The Great Escape, and the Adk Treetop course. It was my daughter’s 12th birthday and she had a fantastic weekend! If I ever get the chance to visit Annmarie’s place again I would in a heartbeat! Treetop course!

Exceptional experience in every way. Instant communication with AnnMarie. The entire house is beautifully clean, spacious and well equipped. The game room was a constant source of entertainment for our grandsons. Easy trips to many fun family activities. There is a reason why this house has received nothing but superior reviews! It’s a true gem!

This was our second time booking this beautiful home. I highly recommend!

Everything was wonderful and a good location for boating, swimming, rodeo, horse racing, and casino. Hot tub and fire pit made night enjoyable. Game room an extra plus when weather was not desireable

We all enjoyed ourselves so much. This cabin is a special place. Gameroom kept kids occupied. So fun! We will definitely return. Annemarie was friendly and helpful. Nothing but good things to say!

Quiet area but only 15 min. To lake - house was Very Clean. Every amenity listed was working properly. Communication with owner was quick. ABSOLUTELY PLAN ON RETURNING

Great location, home was clean, beds were extremely squeaky and uncomfortable for the premium the host required, but here is what made us walk away from this booking: There was a camera pointing directly at the hot tub in the back of the home. There was an additional camera inside the game room. We understand the reasoning for having a camera on the front of the home, but not INSIDE living space and definitely not pointing at a hot tub (super cringe). At some point we asked ourselves: where else are there cameras that we don't even know about. Very uncomfortable to say the least. So much for "private" cabin.

We all had a wonderful time while staying in this wonderful home in the woods. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. A little difficult getting into the house because of the front step, esp. if you are elderly. Excellent communication with owner concerning any questions we had. Would definitely recommend to others who don’t mind being pretty far away from major attractions.

We had the best time at Annmarie’s cabin in the woods. She was in constant communication from the minute we booked through our stay which was very appreciated. The house was very clean, spacious, and so fun! Our families had the best time. Would highly recommend, and would stay again.

Everything went extremely well and we had a lot of fun getting to the numerous local attractions such as boat rentals, swimming, hiking, shopping and dining. We were also able to relax at home and enjoy the super game room and hot tub. There really was something for everyone. The home is beautiful and relaxing to stay in with very separate sleeping areas with their own bathrooms, which was a real bonus for the (2) young families that stayed there with us. Everything was well stocked and we were able to settle into relaxing and vacationing with ease. Annmarie was very responsive and friendly. We highly recommend this home for a vacation in the Lake George area with easy access to everything.

The property was everything we would have hoped for. We were traveling with our children, and both sets of grandparents. Having a bathroom on each level was very beneficial. The property was well equipped, even including a high chair for the little one. Close enough to all the action, but far enough away for peace and quiet at the end of the day. Design wise- everything was open and bright. I loved the old time touches such as the appliances and farm style sink. The hot tub and fire pit were enjoyed by all. The air conditioning was definitely needed as it got pretty oppressive in July. The screen room was a great place to sit at night and enjoy the quietness without the bugs. Pretty centrally located for Lake George, Glens Falls, and Saratoga Springs. Loved the little beach minutes from the bottom of the hill and Bons ice cream. Definitely thinking we’ll be back again sometime in the future. Pretty satisfied overall.

This house is such a special place! Tucked in the woods, you feel totally away and disconnected from the world! The house has everything you could need and more! The game room is my kids favorite! The hot tub is amazing to use at the end of the day! We have been here twice and can’t wait to go back for a third time! Owner is so so nice and responsive! Highly recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful time here. The house was more than what we could have expected. Beautiful setting, lovely rooms, plenty of space and bathrooms and who doesn’t want their private game room next door. Already talking to the family about a return trip.

The property is so much better than the pictures even show. Hostess was very kind and prompt with information. Location was secluded with everything you need a quick drive away. The place was so beautiful and well stocked that you won’t want to leave! We plan to make this a yearly get-away.

This was our second time at The House in the Woods. Just a wonderful time as we could have imagined. Clean, comfortable beds and amenities galore! Great place in the woods, super clean. Very quiet area. Great communication with the host. We loved having a fire pit right next to the hot tub. Host bought us an electric skillet to make pancakes at my request. Just one note we were there in October and there were a lot of sticky sappy pine needles that stuck to our shoes, so be sure to bring indoor shoes/slippers! Thank You for a great weekend!

This was a wonderful cabin to stay in with our kids and family members. It was very charming and comfortable, as well as clean and organized. It was such an easy stay and they had everything we needed… and more. There was clear communication with the owners, who were lovely. Our kids are already begging to go back. We absolutely hope to return in the future!

We had a beautiful stay. The home is laid out nicely for multiple families because of all of the en suite bathrooms. The home is charming, peaceful, with endless stuff to do. We hung around the house all weekend, hot tub, game room, short hike around the property. We needed extra pillows and the owner had them sent over the same day. She was very kind and responsive. Thanks for a beautiful weekend!

My family and I had a great time! We were 6 adults and 3 children. Each family had their own bathroom and room. The decor is great, my mom was in love with it. The kids loved the hot tub and the game room, and we made smores at the firepit. Not a far drive from anywhere we planned to go. Annmarie was easy and quick to communicate with. Would definitely recommend this house to friends and family.

2nd time staying at the House in the Woods, we love everything about it! All the little touches and charm. We enjoyed the hot tub and playing card games while it rained! Can’t wait to stay again next summer!

We loved the house in the woods. Peaceful and relaxing. It was well equipped and spacious for us to be together or retreat to separate en-suite bedrooms. The game room was a real plus. We had a blast! Owner was super helpful with immediate responses to our questions. Highly recommend this get away destination

We had to cancel over the winter and we rescheduled which was great , as AnnMarie made it effortless. The house is true Adirondack styling and has everything we needed and more. Glad we were able to stay for our second time.

What an amazing property! Even better than the photos. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay exploring the area and also spending time in the evenings in the hot tub, around the fire pit and in the games room.
Something for everyone and recommended by all!

If I could give 6 stars out of 5 I would! We had an amazing stay and made great family memories at “the house in the woods” ! The house is absolutely beautiful and so thoughtfully decorated. It was incredibly clean and well stocked with the essentials and beyond. The beds and linens were so comfortable! There was plenty of space to spread out for the 7 of us (6 adults and one 8 year old). We were sad to leave and would love to come back! Annmarie was an exceptional host and very responsive. Thank you Annmarie for sharing your beautiful home with us!!! ❤️

My Friends and Family spent the weekend in the “House in the Woods. The layout took everyones comfort level up a notch, there were seating places you could enjoy the ambiance of the woods. The hot tub and game room were both inviting, us big kids never had a dull moment. My only regret was we should have stayed longer. You can feel the love Annmarie and her family put into the house, every detail made for a fun relaxing weekend.
Thank you❣️

Awesome place and awesome host. This was our third year in a row staying here and we'll be back again next year. Annmarie is always super helpful, accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend this place all around.

The house and the setting are beautiful and peaceful.
20 minutes or so to Glenns Falls. Its really a 3 bedroom house with a master suite office converted to a 4th bedroom. The master has to walk through it to get to the bathroom. The rest of the house is comfortable and spacious.
The game room is pretty tired. Pool table is torn up, hoops bent, tetris didnt work, Neither did Pachinko. Ms packman did work though.
Also, be sure to bring soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, etc. Also, one towel per person too.
Just needs a little TLC from the hosts.

Two families shared the house for a long weekend and had a lovely time. Location was great, just a short drive to the southern part of lake George. Close to boating and hiking. Plenty of space in the house for 8 people. Loved the fire pit and game room. Had a little issue with the stove but owner was very responsive. Would definitely stay again :)

Impressive, excellent, professional Host. Would definitely stay again.
