This surfside cottage is a family favorite! We are located at 726 Dover Court in South Mission Beach, with one amazing parking space and an outdoor courtyard that will be your favorite place to rest and relax after a day in the sun! The unit sits on the ground-level of a two-unit building, with a spacious courtyard patio that is private to the cottage. The patio is about 15 x 20 feet in size and is an outdoor space you will not find easily elsewhere for this value! Enjoy grilling and dining while just steps away from the deep blue sea, the boardwalk, sandy beach, and surf! Play in the ocean right in front of lifeguard tower #12, located straight from the sidewalk leading you to the beach. Just four doors from the shore, it will take you only 70 steps to get to the boardwalk, sand, and surf! We love that all of the adventures and activities are so close, yet perfectly distanced so you can still find quiet respite at the home when desired. Take a short stroll a few blocks North and you will find fun for all ages at Belmont Park. The famous Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, arcade, minigolf, shopping, dining, and more can be found right here on the boardwalk! Beautiful fitness center and indoor Plunge pool welcomes all ages for fun out of the sun. Small grocery markets and eateries are all conveniently located within walking distance from the home. There are many nearby rental shops offering bicycle, kayak, surfboard, sailboat rentals and much more! Keep your vehicle parked and explore the area by foot, bicycle, or blades! This bright and sunny cottage-style unit is perfect for a single family with kids or two couples. Sleeps up to 6 guests in beds, or 8 guests using sofa bed. The home is very welcoming and open, with all rooms connecting in a large circle. Enter the home from the front door and you will be in the kitchen that overlooks the living area and the courtyard patio. From the living room you will pass the bunk bed caves (TWO TWIN BUNKS which are open to the hallway and living area with their own TVs) and to Bathroom 2 and then Bedroom 2 (KING BED). You will then find Bedroom 1 (KING BED) which has the ability to close a door to this hallway, creating a main suite that attaches to Bathroom 1. Bathroom 1 has two entry doors, one leading to Bedroom 1 and the other leading to the front door and kitchen. There is a private stackable washer & dryer in Bathroom 1, allowing for convenience and light packing! Updated vinyl plank flooring can be seen throughout the home, along with fresh beachy decor. Full kitchen with gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, pantry, and plenty kitchen appliances. Lots of windows give this beach house character and a bright beach cottage feel. This beach house is really in the middle of it all, yet it has a quiet, laid back vibe. It’s just steps to the beach and a very short walk to Belmont Park, They thought of everything and had beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, and sand toys to use during the stay. The washer/dryer combo was incredibly convenient for wet swimsuits. The whole stay was a wonderful way to begin our summer break. We will most definitely be back!

We had a great time gathering on the patio with a fireplace that warmed our hearts and our bodies. The property manager was so nice. The place was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for all our cooking needs. A short walk to the beach!

We stayed here for four nights in May 2024 and were very very pleased with the location, amenities, accessibility, and comfort of this beach house. It is a very short walk to the Mission Beach (we didn't even wear shoes some of the time) and a close walk to a market, a few restaurants, and Mission Bay. It is close to highway 8 so getting to other San Diego spots like the zoo and Balboa Park is quick. We had a minivan and it fit well in the spot provided. PLENTY of beach toys, boogie boards, chairs, and towels are provided. Sharon was so friendly, helpful and welcoming. My kids loved the bunk beds. Some areas of the house are showing some normal wear and tear, but nothing more than expected and all the appliances worked great. Linens, paper goods, and kitchen supplies were provided. It was very comfortable for our family of five, and again, the location is hard to beat. Book it, you won't regret it.

Loved the proximity to the beach. There are a couple of markets within a couple of blocks and a great little coffee stand. Only complaint was that the sheets on the top bunk were not clean, they were covered in sand and crumbs.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The sounds of the ocean echo through the living space and when you open your doors, The ocean waves remind you how close you are to Paradise. The decor is very cute and gives off vacay vibes. The beds are comfortable, the appliances Fit all the needs, and the outside area is such a wonderful place to chill. When I had an issue, turning on the fire pit, the owners came right away to show me how to operate it
The location is really. Very close to Belmont Park, where there are plenty of places to entertain families. Also super close to some cute coffee, shops, and storefront restaurants that serve for great meals in a pinch.
I would definitely stay in this location again And really loved every minute of it.

This place was a perfect fit for us! The separate bedrooms and bathrooms were great for 2 couples. So close to the beach we could hear the surf from the patio! Late night chats around the fire pit were wonderful. Easy walk to markets, dining and cafes. Very quiet and relaxing. Excellent communication and directions. One suggestion is to update the bath fan in the laundry/bathroom. It starts normally but after a couple minutes only blows hot air. It didn’t bother us at all bc it was a little cool during our March stay but others may find it uncomfortable.

Excellent location and accommodations for our family vacation. Unit was very clean and had decent quality furniture throughout. The kids loved the bunk beds! Lots of towels and beach toys are available for use. Kitchen has all the dishes etc you need for preparing meals and a dish washer. There is a washer and dryer in the unit for laundry as well. Patio has a BBQ, dining table and some comfortable chairs / love seat as well as a fire table for hanging out after the kids are down for the night. Area is quieter than north Mission or Pacific beach. Beach was awesome and extremely short walk. Went down for sunset most days and to watch the surfers. There is a good Mexican food place, small market, and liquor store within 2 blocks and larger grocercy stores etc are only a short drive away. The hosts were very responsive to anything we needed. The only minor annoyance was you are right under the flight path of the airport. Not loud enough to be a big disturbance inside but you notice it on the patio for sure. Our kids were thrilled to see all the planes so it was probably a positive to them.

Perfect! Our daughter graduated from MCRD. This property is only minutes away from there and the airport. We are 8 when we are all together, it was a little cozy inside with all of us inside, but we were all comfortable sleeping and 2bathrooms

Nice comfortable place. There were 4 of us visiting and we were able to walk to dinners and drinks out. The beach is right down the walkway. The hosts very quick to respond to questions and were very friendly. We would stay here again.

It was a very good stay; overall, I was very happy with the property. The location is great. There are plenty of beach toys to use. The patio is very nice. The short walk to the beach is really easy straight down the path. The GPS seems to want to take you past the drivable alley to the walking path, so double-check; if you can't turn down the street, you may have gone past it. Also, it seemed to happen when we ordered some food. The delivery person came past the street to the walking path side of the address.

We had the opportunity to come to San Diego and attend my nephew/son’s Family Day & Graduation from the Marines. This location & property was PERFECT!! We got to see the sunset together from the beach & share how grateful we were to be together. We had EVERYTHING we needed in the house to truly feel as if we were home. There was so much around us to keep us entertained, we were not far at all from the Marine Corp Recruit Depot. Given the chance, will definitely want to come back. Sharon replied promptly anytime I notified her of anything or had questions during and prior to our visit. It was the BEST experience ever! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here!! I only wish we had more time to have stayed longer.

Bathrooms need work. When trying to just use the bath the shower head still sprays water. Alternatively, the bath faucets don't stop flowing while just trying to use the shower. Slow draining.
King size beds were lumpy and a bit uncomfortable as a result. Headboards are not attached so anytime you would move it would clunk into the wall.

My family of 6 stayed at this property for 3 nights. The location was great. Close to beach and walking distance to attractions and restaurants. The house was not the cleanest as I found hair on bed sheets and In drawers. The plumbing also needs some attention as both bath tubs back up and do not drain good. The property is a duplex and the unit is the bottom unit. The unit above had guests that were loud and had children that sounded like they were running and jumping late at night and we were woken up by them early in the morning. Also the surrounding properties are very close, so the neighbors were also loud and there were multiple gatherings around us. I would not stay at this property again, only because of the noise.

Loved the quick walk to Belmont and the beach! House was clean and perfect for my husband, 6 y.o. stepdaughter, my mother and me. Lock box was finicky but got it open after a few tries! Obly big downfall was regarding the neighbors in the unit above us; they took our parking spot (they had a car in the garage as well) and asked us to park in the garage next to their 2nd car. It was too tight a fit so we had to use the roads. Otherwise, loved the house!

It was my 3 year old's first time to the ocean. We wanted a location that was easily walkable for little legs, but we didn't necessarily need all the fancy frills that comes with close to the ocean properties. This place was great. The price was fair for the accommodations and the property was as advertised. It is older, but clean and comfortable.
The parking space easily fit our 4-Runner. We could even open all 4 doors when parked!
The outdoor space was very relaxing. We ate most meals at the table and watched the world go by. We used the fire table in the evening, which was super fun for the kids.
The neighborhood was quiet and there were many families walking around. There is a market, coffee and some food options a short (4 minute) walk away. We loved Sara's Mexican food and Capri and brought their food home multiple times! Belmont Park is lots of fun and has other food options in and around it. It was about a 10 minute walk but again, my 3 year old was able to walk it multiple times and had no problem doing so...we could have left the stroller at home.
The walk to the ocean really is super close and it was very convenient for us to run back when something was forgotten or needed.
The owners were awesome. They quickly answered any questions that I had before the trip. They sent an email on our first full day to check in and make sure that everything was good.
We're already dreaming of a return trip!

Location is perfect for family beach vacation. Much appreciated the on-site parking. Beach, food, groceries, coffee a very short walk. The bunk bed cave was perfect for our four year old grandson. Lots of beach toys available to use. Generous outside patio space, which was great for any/all meals. We did hear foot steps, etc from upstairs rental unit, but did not find that bothersome. We had a great stay and would recommend.

Everything was perfect. The place was exactly as advertised. The single story was perfect for my parents in their 80s. The patio was even better than advertised. We had everything we needed. The beach was so close, yet the place was quiet enough that we could even hear the waves. I have already shared this place with friends to book for their families.

The home was decorated beautifully with its beach theme. We loved it! The home is just a hop, skip, and a jump to the beach…just a few steps away. Everything we wanted or needed was close by to walk to or a short drive away. We spent our time at the beach, Belmont Park, and hanging out with other family members at their beach rental in the same neighborhood. We would stay here again. ♥️

I cannot say enough great things about our stay at this beach house. It was cozy, comfortable and well decorated. It had all the amenities of home including linens, towels and kitchen utensils. It is so close to the beach without being in a high traffic area.

We really enjoyed our stay. Kids especially loved the short walk to the beach and the rental was in walking distance to everything we needed. Everyone slept comfortably and there was enough space and ammenities for a family of 8. There were also a ton of beach toys and accessories (total bonus)!

Perfect for our needs. The individual TVs on the bunk beds, genius! My 10 year old and my 8 year old enjoyed them completely. The two bathrooms allowed for quick prep time.? We were all able to shower each morning without tripping on each other. Enjoy the beach on every day of our stay. It was so relaxing to stay this close to the beach.
