About this house rental
Granite Creek Cottage is an adorable 1939 Craftsman cottage just 2 blocks from the historic Courthouse Square and world famous Whiskey Row. This downtown area is where most of the eating, socializing, shopping happens. The Cottage sits right on Granite Creek, which runs seasonally.
Come experience the seasons! There is a little snow in the winter and cool weather in the summer. Prescott has amazing events year round like July 4th, Prescott Rodeo, the many Parades, special events at Halloween and Thanksgiving, Lighting of the Courthouse, Christmas festivities, and Watching The Boot Drop On Whiskey Row For The New Years Eve Event. The summer Concert Series brings free events to the Courthouse Square almost every night in the summer.
The Cottage has internet streaming WIFI TV's – and you can use our NETFLIX/AMAZON account. Local television stations are not available at this property but complimentary wireless internet access is included.
This wonderful, charming and cozy 1200sf house has 9 foot ceilings, crown moldings, beadboard, original dining room and kitchen pantry built-ins, laundry room and an Arizona Room with a new slate floor. The Cottage has retained its original charm but is improved with modern amenities such as central heat and air conditioning, a very large remodeled bath with tiled shower, and a completely renovated kitchen. Appliances include a 5 burner gas stove and full-sized oven, a microwave and a coffee maker.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Granite Creek Cottage is in an older original neighborhood of Prescott. There is a mixture of single family residences, multi family residences and businesses nearby.
The Cottage was built directly on the east bank of Granite Creek. The original front of the house was facing the creek.
There is an mobile home community to the south of the property, business located to the north of the property, and a mixture of craftsman cottages and stone buildings scattered throughout the neighborhood.
The car entrance into the property is the older side street which leads to our large private parking area.
Parking is a premium in downtown Prescott so we have added a fence to the property. We have found that we will often park our cars and not use them because of how close we are to the Square.
Another benefit of being on Granite Creek is the original nature trail that allows you to walk to the Square through nature. It is a lovely, flat, scenic trail that will take you through the heart of Prescott and is a great way to get the day started when you stay at Granite Creek Cottage.
ROOMS IN THE COTTAGE
Our first bedroom is called the Oak Room and has a lovely oak carved four poster bed and armoire that has a hideaway TV. There is also ample closet space.
Our second bedroom is called the Pine Room it has a pine four poster bed draped in lace and a tall pine dresser. There is also ample closet space. This bedroom has direct access to the bathroom.
The dining room has been decorated to the original late 1930’s period of the house. The table has seating for 6. There is a charming built in hutch where you will find fun family games.
The living room has the original feel of the cottage and has been updated to modern day. There is an antique oak fireplace with a fireplace art insert. (HEATING AND COOLING ARE NOW DONE BY THE CENTRAL HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING.)
The Stained Glass windows in the house have been updated with modern designs in an antique way.
The remodeled bathroom has a tiled step-in shower and an antique vanity with vessel sink.
OUTSIDE
The flagstone patio has a dining table for 4-6 and is nestled next to the seasonal flower garden. It's a great location for morning coffee, afternoon drinks, a cookout on the propane grill or just sitting around the fire pit making s’mores.
The creek side porch is the original porch for the house. The porch overlooks the lawn up to the stone wall. On that side of the house you can sometimes hear the running creek during season. The best part of this cottage is that one side of the house gets morning sun and the other afternoon sun – so it’s never too shaded or too sunny during your stay.

The location is perfect for walkable access to the Granite Creek Trail and an excellent variety of restaurants. It's a quick drive to hiking/biking trails at Bean Peaks, Goldwater Lakes, and Wolverton Mountain. Groceries and fuel are nearby too.

This cute house is just as described! Everything you need is included (except food 😊). It is very clean, well stocked and so convenient to downtown. We didn’t cook but they have more than enough kitchen accessories to get the job done. Eric & Alisa were wonderful hosts, checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We also enjoyed sitting outside, only wished the creek was running. We would definitely stay here again!

The property was an easy walk to downtown. There is a new brewery that is super close and had great beer and food. The firepit was a nice way to relax after enjoying the town.

Every was easy, check in, communication the stay, location and check out. We were happy that there was coffee and the kitchen was well stocked!
Would stay again!

Older house, but everything worked. Great location, great front and back yards.

Lots of character! Very clean and well appointed wirh everything i needed. Love all the antiques...especially the Niagra Fall wall hanging!

It was spacious and comfortable. AC worked great. Shower was good. We really didn't use the kitchen. My teens were fascinated by the built in pantry, wall telephone, and old timey knob radio, and they loved hanging out in the little sun room. In the evenings, we would all just hang out in the large living room. This is an old house with a lot of character.

My husband and I stayed at Granite Cottage with our 18, 21, and 23 old kids + 2 large dogs. The house was wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to gather with family and still have work-from-home functionality. The house is a 2 minute drive to town and a comfortable walking distance for anyone looking to get some exercise.
The layout was great for allowing everyone to be together in a collective space, whether they were at the large dining room table or relaxing in the living room.
The large bathroom has a walk-in shower with amazing water pressure and near instant hot water. The counter and wide bathroom mirror gave 3 women a chance to get ready at the same time.
The backyard looks over a wilderness area, and the relaxing lawn furniture was delightful. Additionally, there is a back porch area with chairs over-looking the lawn and perfect for place for my morning tea, and a separate shaded patio with a BBQ and a table for 6 on the opposite side of the house.
The attached laundry room has a full washer and dryer with a large space to store items like our traveling dog kennels.
The hosts Alisa and Eric were welcoming, helpful, and very accommodating. They even forwarded information for a dog park nearby in case we were interested.

My husband and I spent 6 nights at this lovely 2-bedrm cottage very near the center of town. It was very comfortable, and everything we needed was provided. One thing my husband and I really loved was the proximity to great walking trails, making it easy to walk our dog, and the ease of getting to restaurants and other venues on foot. Eric was highly responsive to our questions and genuinely concerned to make our stay fabulous!

Our stay in this charming historic home was wonderful. The back yard looks out to the creek and lovely nature scenery, where guests can relax on the lawn furniture with morning coffee or evening star gazing. There is a walking path behind the house, allowing for peaceful strolls into town. The house itself was stocked with everything needed for a stay, everything was very clean and organized, the furniture was comfortable and inviting, and communication with the hosts was practically immediate.
The Wifi worked well; we were able to set up our home offices and get some work done.
This is a rental we definitely would return to!

Hiking around the lakes was beautiful and peaceful.
Thank you for a great stay!

Great location near a fun brewery and 1/2 mile to the downtown square. House very dated but clean. Beds and linens comfortable. Streaming only TV.
The yard needs a lot of work so did not want to sit outside. :-(

My wife, sister and I spent 3 weeks in the cottage. It is a convenient walk to downtown Prescott and short distances to most anything one would need.
Eric and Alisa were excellent to work with. My wife and I both had covid right before we planned on leaving Wisconsin, delaying our arrival to Prescott. They were very kind and even gave us a break on our shortened stay, without any obligation to do so. A very nice couple. However, the weather was not very compatible to outdoor activities during our time so we spent a lot of time in the cottage. couldn't even enjoy the back patio because of snow or freezing temperatures. Too much time for a 70 year old, retired carpenter to spend. The house was well stocked. The beds were comfortable. The neighborhood IS unique but we were never concerned for security. I assume there is much more activity during the summer months. The house is old and in need of some updates and an interior "facelift". For people who are out and about, taking advantage of activities and night life, the house would be perfect. For 3, 70 year olds, spending too much time inside,.....it just missed the mark for us.

Nice house, wish there was a few more usable pieces and less decorative.

We loved the character of this older home. There are areas of the home/yard that show its age which we enjoy. The house had everything we needed and the location is walking distance to the downtown area. There is even a nice Brewery hidden just 3 doors down the street.
Alisa and Eric were very nice, checked in with us on our arrival and reached out to make sure we had everything we needed.
This house was great for what we needed. It was priced fairly considering its location, 2 bedrooms and a cozy little yard.

My wife and I stayed at the cottage for an anniversary weekend getaway. The cottage was super clean, well stocked with everything we needed to make some homemade meals. The yard was perfect for our two small dogs to play in. The Location is absolutely perfect within walking distance to downtown where we were able to take the dogs a few times to enjoy that arts and crafts festival. The hosts Eric and Alisa were super kind and easy to work with, they even allowed us a little early access when we requested it. We will definitely try to stay here the next time we’re in town! Thanks so much. Steve and Marsha

We had the most relaxing weekend. Great location. Great restaurants. Perfect home for us and our dogs.

Nice cozy place. Easy access to town square.

It’s a quirky older home set in a strange neighborhood. The Wi-Fi doesn’t work well so TV and computer rarely worked.
Beds were super comfortable. The backyard is gorgeous backing up to Granite Creek. Close to the square - walking distance, which is a huge plus.

We enjoyed our stay there. We were a few blocks from the square, not easy walking distance, so we drove there and to restaurants. The house was very nice and I was able to set up an office to work remotely. There was no place to walk to from there that suited us. There is a nice seafood/burger place very close that we liked. There was also a bar up the street within walking distance, but we don't drink. We found many really nice restaurants within a short drive. We had a really nice stay other than it pretty much rained half the time. I was glad we were not in a hotel. I don't understand why they don't have local TV, at least. They could provide a real cable TV package, as we were often housebound by the weather.

Prescott, Mar 2022
Very nice quaint house built in the 1930s facing historic Granite Creek. Perfect location for out Prescott adventure. A three minute walk to a recently opened brew pub (the clam chowder is outstanding!) and a three block walk to Whisky Row. We had a great time.

Great location
We had a wonderful time in Prescott at the Creekside Cabin. Eric was right on top of things when I had a question and responded immediately, great communication! The door lock was a bit tricky, but we eventually figured it out. The home is in an excellent location for being within walking distance of the square and there is also a really neat brewhouse just a few steps away with an outdoor patio and fire pit, great food and brews! The home is equiped with everything you need. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Couldn't be better!
Communication with the owners was superb, from getting answers to questions before booking, to directions and instructions, and including offers of assistance when we were on property.
The property was exactly as listed and as seen in photos. No surprises.
What you can't see:
Beds are very comfortble
Furniture is comfy
Heat works well, as well as hot water and water pressure.
Very well appointed.
Lazy G Brewery is easily accessible from the property. It is excellent for drinks and food. The courthouse and shops were only 2 blocks away - easy walk.
You can't ask for more. Book it!!

Home away from
This was our 2nd stay at the cottage and we enjoyed it every bit as much as our 1st.
We love the location on the creek, and the trail that leads right into town. We also enjoyed watching the parade of javelinas from the creek one evening, a rare sight.
The cottage is comfortable, well appointed and the owners are wonderful to work with.
We would recommend this place to anyone wanting a getaway walking distance to town while at the same time feeling close to nature.
We look forward to our next trip!

Vintage Craftsman on the creek
We couldn't have been more pleased with the cottage, it was very spacious, well appointed and lots of vintage charm.
The owners Alisa and Eric were a pleasure to deal with and very responsive when we had a question.
Our pups felt right at home in backyard which made our lives easier☺
The Lazy G Brewry was just around the corner and a great place for lunch.
We loved the easy walk into town either by the sidewalk or the path along the creek .
We would have loved to extend our stay but no surprise, the place was booked!
We will be back!💖

Won't stay anywhere else in Prescott!
This is the second time we have stayed at Granite Creek Cottage and it's now officially been decided that we won't stay anywhere else when going to Prescott! We were traveling as a family (children ages 4 and 3) and even our dog. We are so grateful that the Sloans let us bring our dog. The cottage is beautiful - it has so much history - but it also has all of the amenities anyone could need. There truly is nothing else we could ask for. The location is so convenient - within walking distance to to the main square. The neighborhood is quiet and we felt right at home. The owners were available for any questions and do an excellent job of providing detailed instructions. The cottage is clean and comfortable...and we love being able to eat on the patio and spend the early mornings in the Arizona room sipping our coffee. Truly an exceptional property. The memories that we have made while visiting Prescott and staying at Granite Creek Cottage will be forever cherished! Thank you for creating such an amazing home away from home!!

Cottage retreat with great downtown location
Very clean and amazingly well stocked cottage made for an enjoyable few days in Prescott. There were even bowls for fido if forgotten. Two short blocks from the Courthouse square means not having to take the car to eat out, enjoy the town or some shopping.. Owners are quick to respond and even checked to make sure we didn't need anything.

Nostalgic Downtown
My husband, dog and I stayed at the Granite Cottage for about a week. Eric and Alisa were great to work with. The cottage was just as shown in the photos. It is an older home and as such, has some quirks. We had no problem with the neighborhood, but others have commented on the trailer park next door. The cottage is so close to downtown and around the corner from LazyG Brewery that has great beer and food!

Clean neat downtown with comfortable beds and good shower.
Enjoyed several days here, too walks in morning and evening to the town center with my dog. Owners were there when needed and were good people to work with.
