About this house rental
Original Deep Creek Lake stone cottage completely restored and updated. This 4 bedroom cottage is a great place to get away and unwind from the "real world". All 4 bedrooms have new queen beds and have Jack and Jill bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with new appliances and a dishwasher. There are granite counter tops and a center island for cooking and eating. The living room and dinning room are surrounded by windows to give you lake views from all angles. There is a gas fireplace to take the edge off of the cool nights. In addition there is a HD LCD TV to watch movies, play video games or watch cable. Just off the living room is the deck with a large picnic table to enjoy your meals and play games. There is also a hot tub to relax your aching muscles after a long day of outdoor activities. The back yard lends itself to many family games and activities. The swing is a great place to read a book or get lost in the view. We have a private dock for your boat or boats. The dock is a great place to swim or catch fish.

The inside was very nice, fit the family and 2 dogs. It was clean. The hot tub was sparkling clean. The outside, could have been cleaner. The deck had leaves and table was warped. Their were spider webs on the outside if the windows. The outside chairs looked dirty. There was dog poop in the grass from the last renters(I guess). It is a beautiful lake.

We really enjoyed our stay. The vacation rental was as advertised. The view is beautiful and house is roomy. We were able to have kayaks and stand up paddle boards delivered by a local outfitter and launch them from the dock. As this rental is pet friendly my dog also enjoyed her stay! I spent a lot of time relaxing in the shade in the big swing. Definitely 5 stars. We would love to come back to this property in the future!

Inside was nice, clean, but a taste dated.
Coffee pot needs replaced. Water reservoir was stained and a brown piece of paper towel was stuck to the inside. It was a very inexpensive machine, so it should have been replaced after last season. Coffee is a big deal so this hurt the rating. The utensil drawers need lined as the bottoms are in rough shape, which made me question the cleanliness of the tools…they were clean, but a simple fix.
Outside was a bit different. I think we were the first renters this year and it showed. Grass was just cut and not bagged. We tracked grass in the house and spent time cleaning it up as best we could. It looked like a rush job for sure. The deck needs refinishing, but it is solid. Again assume we are the first renters as 3 snow shovels were laying in different locations on the deck, a 1/2 full bag of salt (I think) by the wood steps into the house, a large 1/2 empty bottle of bubbles and what looked like a 1/2 a bottle of water was on the window sill outside the dining room…weird and looked like it was left over from some old stay. There were folding bag a chairs on the deck, which is nice. Unfortunately they were not protected over the winter and they were full of water, leaves, and dead bugs.
Dock is great and water access is awesome.
This home just needs some TLC to be a 5 star stay!

This place is great with lots of room and a nice hot tub. Some upgrades from 2 years ago which were nice; new tv, chairs for outside and fire pit built up. Check in was a breeze as well as check out. The place was very clean with a full kitchen. The host was responsive with questions before arrival.

The house was clean, well-maintained, quiet area, and the hot tub was a nice addition. The weather was perfect for a November tranquil and serene weekend. Would recommend this to others and plan to revisit in the future.

Came here for a quiet getaway and this place was perfect! The location was close to all necessities but still far enough away to enjoy the quiet sounds of nature. Being right on the lake was a plus and the hot tub was really nice. The only major downfall was that we had absolutely no luck fishing, the entire week we never even got a nibble. Everything with the property was great and we will definitely be staying here again!

Our family of 4 and medium sized dog had plenty of room and enjoyed our stay in this comfy, clean lakeside home. We enjoyed hanging on the deck looking out at the lake and the swing closer to the water was very nice. The yard was big enough for our dog to play fetch. It was nice to sit in the hot tub and look out at the lake as well. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfy. The location of the home was a short drive to boat rentals, restaurants, and the state parks. Bill responded quickly to questions before our trip. We did not need to contact him during our stay. When renting a VRBO home I always bring tissues, TP, paper towels, dishwasher pods and hand soap and this time I needed them all. Would definitely rent this home again if we find ourselves in the area.

This was a quick 4 day Spring Break/fishing trip for me and my 2 kids. The kids loved fishing off the dock 2 full days. The house was very quaint and simple living. Wonderful experience and close to all needs. Thank you for a terrific Spring Break getaway for my family.

You will not regret renting this property. The house is amazing and the host (Bill Meagher) is extremely helpful and dedicated to making sure your expectations are met while staying at his property. The spacious open floor plan has incredible views of the lake and allows for a great space to gather with friends and family. The home was clean and well-appointed to meet your needs. Definitely a 5-star experience for me and my group of friends!

We really enjoyed our time at Lakeside Fun. Comfortable beds, great showers, lovely lake views, bubbly hot tub and we could bring our pup. It checked all our boxes! Lots of space for relaxing in the living room. There was both a drip coffee maker and a Keurig for our morning caffeine needs. Next time we’ll remember to pack more of those consumable items like TP, paper towels, trash bags, soap and the like. We look forward to our next visit!

Great location and the amenities were top notch.
Our only issue was the lack of instructions for the fireplace. Because of that, we had to play phone-tag with the property management office (who was very helpful and patient).

We stayed the last weekend in October. The leaves were past peak but still stunning. The house was perfect for 3 couples (room enough for 4). The location was fantastic with the water right out the door and close to restaurants and entertainment. Plenty of room inside the house to relax on the 3 couches. I highly recommend this house for a weekend or a week.

This property was ideal for our Labor Day week at the lake. The four comfortable bedrooms made it easy to pick the right room for everyone. The open concept living room, dining and kitchen area provided plenty of space not only for us to cook , eat and chill, but also for our grandchild to move around and play, as well as enough room for our Bernese mountain dog. Having a dock of our own at the property’s waterfront was an extra bonus, facilitating the overnight boat rental. Bill was very responsive when we had a few questions. Thank you!

We had a great week at this property. The location is perfect on the lake and a short drive to popular Deep Creek destinations. A few suggestions that would make the experience even better: install steps over the rocks to the dock (I fell once because they get slippery), provide more seating around the fire pit and to view the lake, and remove dust around the fans and curtains (overall the house was very clean except for this).

Host was efficient but house needed better cleaning
Bill answered right away. However the house was not properly cleaned. Lots of spider webs and spiders. We had to wipe webs off lamp shades, ceilings, walls and kitchen lights. Ceiling fan had tons of dust on it. We have pictures if you would like to see. We didn’t want to open up windows because of the cob webs and spiders. Also we would recommend a better walkway to the dock. Rocks get very slippery.
It would be nice to have some shades on side windows.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lakeside Fun on Deep Creek Lake. House was clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The family enjoyed kayaking on the lake, soaking in the hot tub and sitting around the fire pit in the evening. During our week long stay, we commuted the 45 minute one way trip Morgantown several times for WVU graduation activities. The location worked extremely well for us as both a vacation destination and a home base for the 2022 WVU graduation.

The location was amazing. We stayed there in the summer of 2021. The house is on the smaller size, but the large flat yard right on the lake more than makes up for it. The house could use a little attention though. The wifi was incredibly slow and we had very grumpy teens and adults who couldn't stream TV shows or get any work done at night. The router and wifi speeds need to be updated. Also, the freezer wasn't cold and couldn't keep things frozen. All in all, though, it was a great experience and I'd rent this property again. :)
