The property was well equipped and had everything needed for a great stay. The location was convenient, close to the beach and amenities. Comfortable beds and a clean, cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The rental house was very economical. It was not fancy, but close to everything (restaurants, coffee shops, and the beach. We enjoyed our time.

I stayed here with my family recently and enjoyed the comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen (though no dishwasher), and a backyard gas grill that worked well. The house is not on the beach, but it is close to a public beach and not far from grocery stores and other amenities. Frankly, we spent most of our time away from the property and at the beach, but this was a nice home base for us. We enjoyed our stay!

The location was great! We love Longboat
The house has 2 out of 3 bedrooms are very hot. Kitchen very small hard to cook in and no dishwasher. It was a better house for long weekend not our 2 weeks stay. Owner very nice!
5.0 / 5.0
The cottage was immaculate and located minutes to a public beach that was beautiful and less crowded. After a day at the beach, we enjoyed being close to great restaurants, and a kitchen equipped with everything you need to put together a meal for a family. The new fire stick on the TV was a nice way to wind down. Finally, the linens and beds were fantastic !!! Finally, it was very nice to have a private garage to park the car. We hope to return!

We had a lovely stay. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed to make our trip to LBK great. Walking distance to our family in the area and beaches. Will definitely be back!

An older cottage as was advertised, but well furnished. Comfortable beds and well equipped with most needs! Owners were responsive and accommodating. Neighborhood was quiet ..except for an occasional peacock. Close to several good restaurants.

We're LBK residents who needed a place to bugout while our home was being fumigated. It was also a work week so I wasn't certain a 'cottage in a historic village' would be equipped with the kind of WiFi to accommodate my work-from-home demands. I dare say the connection in the cottage is much better than what you'll get at the Longboat Key Resort.
Besides that, we fell instantly in love with the place's unassuming size and unpretentious decor. It's charming, tranquil, private and accessible to the Whitney's and Shore's on the bikes—provided by the hosts.
We've changed our attitude on the multi-million dollar, cookie-cutter modern mansions despoiling the island after a week's stay in something small yet with so much character and spirit.
We would definitely find an excuse to spend a few nights there again even though we already have our own place on LBK.

The property was cleaned and well stocked. Walking distance to the beach and pier. Great outdoor space and neighborhood for kids

This property is truly a treasure. Diana goes the extra mile to make sure guests are comfortable in the enchanting Longboat Key north end village. This very well maintained historical cottage is less common in what was the original fishing village of LBK because many of the original buildings are being replaced with new construction. This charming cottage is very clean with not only a well equipped kitchen, but everything you need for the beach, including beach bicycles to toodle to Whitney Beach! I hope to have the pleasure of staying here again!

Property is on southern end of island which is a nice respite from the crowded northern end. Home was clean, roomy and had all required amenities.

We absolutely loved and enjoyed our stay! We are already planning our return for next year! Communication with the Taylor’s was great. We arrived and had a smooth check in. The beach house is in a quite old Florida neighborhood that was perfect for our family, and we loved the old beach house feel and the stunning outside. We were minutes from everything which was a huge plus. I highly recommend to anyone but especially families.

We had a great time at this home
1950's classic beach style. Great set up. We were visiting LBK for a family wedding. This home easily held several generations without being on top of on another. Out party was 5 adults 2 children. Owners were responsive and helpful. Instructions were straight forward. Home was close to several great beaches. The neighborhood peacocks were so neat. Nice fenced in yard for privacy. Beach supplies were all in places. Chairs, umbrellas, towels, and sand toys. Thank you! Parking for two vehicles was easy. The garage allowed for screened in relaxation.

The property was superbly “old Florida” - not new or flashy, but well appointed, super-comfy, and very convenient to everything. Loved the deck and surrounding flora. Had a great time and fully intend to rent this property again.

We spent 7 nights at this location. The house is as described in the listing and everything was in working condition.
The location was great; about a 3 minute drive/10 minute walk to a beach that hardly ever had anyone on it, a 4 minute drive to a great seafood restaurant (Marvista) and very close to all the restaurants and activities on Anna Maria Island. The house had good WiFi and a tv with good cable listings. There was also a good selection of games for all ages. Beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys were also there for our use. Once you poke around the kitchen you will find just about everything you need to whip up a meal with. The neighborhood was quiet with very friendly neighbors. Even though we were asked to not open the windows (due to their age) the AC worked great and kept us comfortable the entire time - outdoor temps were in the 80s during our stay.
Communication with the owners was excellent. They usually responded within 10-15 minutes both before and during our stay.
All in all a great experience. We would highly recommend this place and we hope to return some day.

Neighborhood, cozy, cottage walking distance to a un-busy beach. Very relaxing stay, well supplied home. Great support from the owner for any questions. Quiet neighborhood, a couple restaurants just a short walk away.

We had a fun stay in this historic LBK home. The beds were very comfortable and their was a lot of space. The walk to the beach was about 5 minutes-too far to carry chairs, a cooler, and an umbrella, but really nice for a morning stroll. The only disappointment is that the pictures showed 3 bikes, but there were only 2, so not enough for my family. Also, I was looking forward to lounging outside on the furniture but it wasn't there. There was a table with chairs but the rest of the furniture was gone. The house is older, but that is pretty clear from the description. The air worked great, and we had to turn on the heat on the final morning and it worked well too. Overall it was a very nice stay.

This property was perfect for our getaway with friends for a few days. Older bungalow that is close to the beach, great places to eat, access to other islands and things to do. Communication was great with the owners.

Diana was terrific responded to questions and texts immediately. The internet went down in the entire neighborhood temporarily because the cable company cut a cord that gave service to the neighborhood. Diana was extremely helpful and found me a friends office to use as I had an important webinar I had to deliver. The problem was not her fault but she went the extra mile to help. The property is within walking distance to the beach and three great restaurants. The beds were extremely comfortable. I would definitely recommend the property.

This is the worse experience we have ever had with a VRBO property. If we had known the true condition of the property we would never have rent it. We spent our first 2 days trying unsuccessfully to find another rental. The condition of the property was totally unacceptable, including, all of the windows, frames and screens were extremely dirty; the screen door to the deck was broken and not useable; the wall of screens on one side of the garage were torn; the grounds were so unsightly that we cleaned them up; the outdoor furniture was so dirty that we had to scrub it before we could use it; the gas grill was so filthy it was not useable; we were told not to open windows so no fresh air except through one door with no screens; and the garbage disposal did not work. The owners and their alleged manager did not address any of these problems other than to clean up the yard after 7 days, offer to clean the grill that was not cleanable and offer to repair disposal by interrupting our vacation which we declined.Additionally, the owners did not provide essentials such as garbage bags, bar soap or adequate toilet paper and paper towels, all of which we had to purchase. The historic positive reviews of the property that we relied on do not apply to the current condition of the property. We love Longboat Key. This was our first visit to LBK Village and we'll definitely be coming back. The street and house are quiet and well cared for. Everything was just as expected. Great place to stay!

We did not spend a ton of time in the property but it was in a great location on longboat and was extremely clean!

Perfect place for our family of 4. Very clean, easy-going beach style, and beach toys & gear galore. We also enjoyed the porch, screened in garage area, and beautiful landscaping. I wish I knew the names of all the interesting plants in the yard. We loved that this end of the island was less crowded. Walking to the beach is possible, but we drove. It was easier with young kiddos.
You guys are super easy to work with, and the place was simple to find and unlock. Thank you for sharing this beach treasure with us. We hope to come back many more times!

Diana and Jeff were a pleasure to work with, so accommodating and nice. We loved many things about the house, from using the beach cruiser bikes ,the outside shower, having literally everything you can possibly think of in the house nicely stocked. Whitney beach on Longboat Key is about a 2 minute drive to the access across the street. Anna Maria Island is about a 15 minute drive. The house was clean and had a lot of charm. There’s also a neat book with all the original paper work from the construction of the house from the 1950’s. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

The home is in a beautiful neighborhood, very close to the beach. The owners were amazing and responded to our needs quickly and very lovingly. Our family was very comfortable and we made many great memories there. We can't wait to stay in Sunny Side cottage again soon!!!

Fantastic cottage location, between the gulf and the bay! Can bike to Anna Maria and it’s many beaches. A short drive to St. Armands Circle and downtown Sarasota. Great, relaxing getaway.

Cottage was not very clean and the umbrellas and beach chairs were all mold we had to buy new ones. We also found another condo and left a week earlier because of the conditions.

I love staying in the Village for it's charm, location, and calm. This cottage fits right in!
I stayed a month, and it was without a doubt one of the calmest vacations I've had in a long time!
From the cottage door to the boardwalk to Whitney beach, it's .49 miles, and with a short walk or bike ride, you're on the beach in under 5 minutes. I brought my bike and trailer, and it was perfect for loading up a chair, umbrella and other beach goodies and making the short trek!
The house is well set-up to manage multiple guests, and there are ceiling fans in every room, which is great! I did buy a few extra fans because I'm hot natured and enjoy sitting in front of a fan going full tilt, but my guests were fine without them - so that's a comment on me, not the house!
The only thing I missed in the house was a table or small area I could have set up my laptop, since I work from home and spend a lot of time online or on conference calls. There is a kitchen bar with stools, but it wasn't quite big enough for what I needed, but it wasn't really an issue. After all, I was at THE BEACH!
The kitchen is well-stocked with pretty much everything you need. There are ample pots, pans, baking items, a blender, toaster, etc. I wasn't sure from the pictures, but rest assured, it's all there! The only thing I brought with my was my heavy-duty blender, but the one that was there probably would have worked for almost anything I wanted to blend. There's even a hand-held mixer, which was nice since I like to bake. I did miss a dishwasher, but I didn't need it, since the sink area was stocked with soap and all the cleaning tools required.
The porch wraps around two sides of the house, and there's always a bit in shade, which was perfect for the days that weren't as hot. Make sure to take tea or a drink and watch for Stumpy, the tailless squirrel to hop around the trees and fence line! He looks like a teeny koala, and it was my morning routine to watch for him.
This is the second cottage I've stayed in on the north end, and it gets great reviews from me! Diana was great to work with, and was responsive if I needed anything. You'll love staying here! I'll be back!
