My girlfriend and I absolutely loved our stay at the downtown property. It exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed a quiet and relaxing weekend sitting outside on the upper and lower porch areas enjoying the nice cool weather. The hot tub was great at night with the cool weather and breeze. Everything about this house is amazing. We were sad of course that we had to leave. We will definitely be planning a return trip soon.

A very enjoyable and unique place to stay with plenty of room for family or friends. Just a short walk to downtown Saluda with very good restaurants and bars. It's great at the end of the day to relax in the big living room, playing pool downstairs or enjoying a soak in the therapeutic hot tub.

This is a really great property in an amazing location. You are literally steps from restaurants, bars, and shopping in beautiful downtown Saluda.
The property is a cool old commercial building that has been completely renovated into a very large house. There is plenty of room to spread out and relax after a busy day exploring everything the blue ridge mountains have to offer.

The only complaint is one of the main level windows does not lock. I had to put an umbrella in the window to prevent someone from opening it. Other than that it was perfect and in the perfect location.

My two friends and I have stayed in Saluda many times over the years and always loved it, and this was no exception. This time there were just two of us. This place is beautiful, very well designed, well equipped, beautifully appointed, and is in a great location. The renovation of what is clearly an older building was gorgeous. I highly recommend it.

Everything was perfect. With the exception of locating the front door entry code. I was able to get after hours help through my cell.
The back door was confusing. I was provided a code. But the patio gate was locked from the inside. We figured it out. Not a big deal.

This was a great place to stay during our weekend in Saluda. The home is very charming, clean, and in a perfect location. We were able to walk everywhere!
This was a beautiful home in a very welcoming town. We really enjoyed our visit!

We live in a lovely Small town in Western NC and love exploring neighboring towns. Saluda sounded perfect and it was! The house we rented was lovely. An old brick building that was transformed into a great space for a large family or group of friends. As we were 3 adult friends, we each had our own BR and bathroom.
Lots of space on the 2 levels. There was an extremely long staircase to the lower level containing 2 bedrooms/bathrooms, the outside patio with nice furnishings, and the Hot Tub.
1st issue was that in all bathrooms, there was no soap at sink and nothing in the shower.
2nd and major issue was the temperature in the Hot Tub.
It was extremely warm. Bordering on hot!
One of us developed Neuropathy in her hands and feet.
A temporary condition but very scary.
One other thing to consider is that the arrival time was 4 pm.
That eliminated almost a whole day.
The departure was very clear, 10 am!
I honestly think that for location and size, it's a great place but more information and little niceties need to be added to make it a perfect place to stay.

This home met our 3 top priorities for a rental home; clean, comfortable and convenient. And the management was very responsive to a couple minor needs. 5 stars! :-)

This super cute and uniquely rustic home is in downtown Saluda and within walking distance to shopping and great food! The layout of the home was perfect for entertaining and relaxing. The downstairs pool table and outdoor hot tub were a hit for our group. Beds and other amenities exceeded our expectations. You won’t be disappointed if you rent!!

The property is lovely and we so enjoyed studying the history behind it which is fascinating. The location is wonderful as the town of Saluda is so cute and everything you need is in walking distance! The proximity to shopping, the Biltmore House, etc made for short and easy commutes. The little “extras” in the house are perfect —- pool table and hot tub are amazing!!!!!

8.0 / 10.0
My sister and I stayed in Saluda specifically because we had wanted to take the zipline tour given by The Gorge. I have to say that overall our stay in the rental was satisfactory. The property is very centrally located and within a short walking distance of downtown Saluda. I loved the historic quality to the property and the kitchen was outfitted nicely. However, there were a few downsides that should be mentioned: 1) the internet and phone service is sporadic at best; we had a very hard time getting consistent service at the house and right outside; 2) trying to figure out the TV was not easy so more detailed instructions on how to get things going would be most helpful; 3) be aware that there is not parking onsite, but rather nearby (and hopefully there will be a spot open on Church Street); 4) the upstairs shower leaves a lot to be desired. It leaks as much as it puts out water so a new functional showered would be much better. In terms of recommendations: the Purple Onion is a great restaurant for lunch or dinner (but like most things in the area, it is not open on certain days); and the zip lining was well worth the trip. Our guides (Becky and Gerry) were first class, the weather was great and at the lines/rappeling/sky bridge are some of the best I've encountered.

Our experience here was a good one. No problems getting into property, never locked out; beds were comfortable, house was clean, hot tub was clean; Location was good and close enough to drive into Asheville. Checkout Wakey Monkey while you are there.

We enjoyed our stay here so much! It was a great property with plenty of space for us all. The pictures don’t do it justice. Loved it and hope to come back here again soon! The town of Saluda is amazing.

during a 4 day stay we never had internet service… efforts to get this resolved were met with deaf ears…they do not have basic cable tv as a back up so no way to watch television…. downstairs bedrooms had a moldy smell and the temperature was always 65 or colder… ants on kitchen counter… overall NOT WORTH THE $$.

The house was beautiful and clean. We had pretty much everything we needed already there. The back downstairs deck is very private and we loved that! We had an amazing time and will definitely rent this place again in the future!

Everything I Hoped For
Property is well laid out for socializing and separate spaces. Cooking as a family was also great as the kitchen is central to the first-floor living area. The furniture was comfortable. Loved relaxing in the hot tub after days of exploring.

Adorable town of saluda was fun for us to explore, and this was a quiet little spot just off the main street, convenient to stores and restaurants. A great base for traveling around the area, be it outdoor adventures or other towns!

Great place
Location and house did not disappoint. Wanted to stay close to the Green River Adventure outpost for our guided rappelling, white water kayaking and zip line adventures. Amazing experience with each of those trips and an easy drive to Asheville....if you need to go there. Will stay here again and again!

Great place in downtown Saluda!
We instantly loved this property- it's location walking distance to downtown Saluda, NC shops and restaurants. The beds were all comfortable. We ate out mostly, so we did not use the kitchen much, but coffee is important and there were plenty of mugs. The hot tub was fabulous at night (in the summer). I do think it would be nice to mention on VRBO somewhere that parking is on the side street. We were confused about that until we saw the binder with more details. I would totally recommend this place to other friends/family!

In the heart of Saluda
This place was near a coffee shop, lunch, and dinner restaurants, as well as shops and small grocery stores. The basement is very cool so if you like it cool, you will love staying in the basement. Since I am very cold natured, I stayed upstairs and was very comfortable.

Summer stay
Beautiful home. Unfortunately when we arrived the home had not been cleaned. We called the listing agent and they were responsive with our problem. They sent out cleaners a couple of hours later. We were told we should be getting a refund for one night since this happened. Still waiting on it! Once the home was clean, it was perfect. Cute town, great home entertainment, and comfortable lounging.

Fun weekend
Great home that is literally just a stone's throw from the village. We sat out on the balcony and enjoyed music from a band behind the local bar. An easy walk to anywhere you are going in Saluda. We will definitely come again. (The internet needs a booster because we could not connect in one of the downstairs bedrooms.)

Saluda Trip May 2021
This house was immaculate and as good as the place looked in the pictures it was even better in person. We felt like we were at home and loved the features of the large kitchen, and after a local bicycle race, the hot tub came in quite handy! We loved our visit to Saluda and highly recommend this listing. Plus if you are into birdhouses, the lady next store has some truly unique ones for sale!

We’ll be back
This was a great house in a great location. The Thompson store was so convenient and had the most amazing fresh meat. We had everything we needed to feel right at home and everything was so clean. The only complaint would be that there was only an upstairs thermostat that controlled both floors. This caused it to be really hot downstairs in the back bedroom and cold in the upstairs bedroom. This really wasn’t a big problem since there were ceiling fans in the rooms. We had such a great time and the food at Purple Onion was amazing. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

Great pandemic getaway
We really enjoyed our stay. We wanted a change in scenery after many months of working from home and virtual learning. The hot tub and pool table were a hit with the kids and provided many hours of entertainment for our family. The small town of Saluda offered several options for shopping and eating out. We would highly recommend for any family looking to get away during this crazy time.
