Exceptional
We could not have chosen a more perfect place for our family reunion. The location is amazing, stunning views with the gentle sound of the water lapping on a beautiful white sand private beach. We saw turtles, paddle boarded, yoga on the landing and the beach is safe for small children. Loved the house, truly a dream come true holiday. Thank you Gina

Paradise Found
This place was nothing short of incredible. I don’t think there is a better location in all of Oahu. We’ll be back!

Great stay in Lanikai
This property feels unique in its location and beach access. It's a lovely home that was just right for my husband and myself, our daughter and a grandparent. We loved playing on the near-empty beach, wandering the neighborhood, hiking Pillbox... Gina was very responsive. We would recommend this property and stay here again.

Perfect Vacation
Words cannot begin to do this property justice. It's beautiful, the views are stunning and the proximity to town is great. We are already planning our next trip back to this magical place. Thank you, Gina, for the excellent communication and for providing everything we needed for a great stay!

Pictures don't do it justice!!!
This beach house was even more amazing than the pictures do it justice. The private beach was so delightful in comparison to the packed beaches just down the street. We took advantage of Gina's great hospitality to organize sea kayak rentals so we could paddle out to the nearby island. We also really enjoyed cooking some of our own meals, for a nice change-of-pace. The kitchen had everything we needed, nice gas grill, and a great outdoor seating area. We spent nearly 2 weeks in Hawaii, and enjoyed it all, but the time we spent at Gina's house near Lanikai was the highlight for our entire family.

Incredible Location
Very private and peaceful with beautiful views of the ocean. Gina, the property manager and owner, helped us with all of our needs. Will definitely stay again if we ever re-visit Oahu.

Beautiful, relaxing getaway
This is a lovely, very comfortable home with amazing views looking out over the blue waters of Lanikai and the Mokes. We had a family visit of two aunts and two nieces, and there was plenty of space to relax, easily get down to the beach, sit on the deck and watch the outrigger canoes. We loved the bathroom nestled into the hillside!

Way, way beyond our very high expectations!
Hale Kainalu (the house), Lanikai Beach and Kailua are extraordinary. An amazing combination of scenery, comfort, relaxation and Hawaiian culture.
Given its location and pictures/video, my family of four had very high expectations for Gina's home. Once there, it was clear to us that reality far exceeded expectations. Breath takingly beautiful in so many, many ways is an understatement. Yes, the house is that close to the gentle waves. SUPs, kayaks, snorkeling and bikes are available with great service from town. It's quiet and peaceful, even during the holidays. The home is comfortable and very well equipped-- everything we needed was there.
Access to town was short and simple by bike or car and great restaurants were among a very nice, quaint shopping district.
Gina was never more than a few minutes away by text and, again, all our needs were met with minimal involvement from others.
A stunning place, we'll no doubt be back!

THE LOCATION:The house is in a gated community at the very end of the road in Lanikai, about a ten minute drive from Kailua where you'll find a farmer's market two days a week, as well as Target, Long's, Whole Foods, Foodland and lots of other stores. You can kayak directly from the house to Mokulua, and the house is conveniently located for the pillbox hiking trail.THE BEACH:The house is as close to the beach as you can possibly get. It's a beautiful sandy beach, shared with a few other houses but usually unoccupied. We saw a turtle there a couple of times. The beach is good for general frolicking and boogie boarding, and if you go way out then there's some snorkeling. As with all the islands, keep an eye out for jellyfish.THE HOUSE:There are two units. The main house upstairs has 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with spa bath and mountainside shower, a generous sized living room with an awesome view and a dining corner, and a well appointed kitchen. The main lanai has a gas grill and copious seating, and there's an awning that you can deploy to protect you from the elements.Downstairs there's a studio unit with shower, basic kitchen and a dining area.THE WILDLIFE:Keep the kitchen clean to deter the ants. We saw a couple of harmless cute geckos in the house. We also saw a centipede, which was neither harmless nor cute (but is now dead).MANAGEMENT:Gina was a pleasure to deal with and responded quickly.CONCLUSION:We stayed only a week but I'd happily have stayed much longer. Next time I'm on Oahu I will try to book this place again.

Pinch Worthy
Every time you gaze upon the pair of Mokulua islands just beyond the private beach you will pinch yourself and acknowledge, "It doesn't get any better than this". The steady sound of waves lapping at the shoreline is the best antidote to an otherwise busy life.
Gina, the homeowner, is attentive. The home is well-appointed but not overly done.
This is our third visit and I highly recommend this rental for families who want to spend quality time together.

Idyllic
We loved our stay at Hale Kainalu! It was the perfect size for our family of 6, and in the most amazing location. The views are spectacular, and it is only steps from the house to the water. Having the sandy beach in front of the house was fantastic. I loved the relaxed style of the house and the furnishings were casual and thoughtfully set out. Gina was so helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I cannot recommend this house highly enough, and have been encouraging all my friends to stay there! You will not be disappointed.

Pure Bliss!
This house checked all the boxes for us: clean, comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces; beachfront views and privacy; short drive to restaurants and stores; and a functional, well-stocked kitchen. First of all, the layout provided us (two couples) with plenty of privacy when we wanted it as well as several indoor and outdoor spaces to comfortably hang out together. The kitchen had almost everything we needed and was very easy to work in. For other things we wanted, grocery stores and restaurants were a short drive away. We didn’t really appreciate that private beach until we got there and saw how crowded Lanikai Beach can be. But there we were on our own private stretch of beautiful beach! And then there’s the view. The photos don’t fully capture that gorgeous blue panorama or the unforgettable sunrises we watched from the deck. When you add the background sound of waves gently lapping on the beach, I mean, that’s pure bliss. Gina was incredibly easy to work with, always responding within a few minutes. She made our stay effortless. Oh, it was so sad to leave! We’ll be back. For sure!

Magnificent Hale Kainalu
This will have been our 4th or 5th trip staying at this beautiful property. Gina is the most gracious and hospitable owner. This is one of the main reasons we continue to return. When Hurricane Lane interrupted our travel that was to start in Maui, Gina was so kind and offered us to come and stay sooner than planned. Amazing about this is that we had another VRBO owner in Maui giving us a very hard time and advising us to "read the contract" and that "inclement weather was non-refundable!" This was a Category 4-5 hurricane! Who could have predicted that months prior? But, Gina's "aloha spirit" turned this bad start into something wonderful. We will always be grateful.
Hale Kainalu --- As beautiful as the photos are online, the actual experience far exceeds. Lanikai is the best beach in Hawaii and Hale Kainalu allows you sit right on the most perfect spot. The property is always in exceptional condition and amenities from furnishings, household amenities, beach toys, etc., are provided over and beyond what you normally see in well-appointed VRBO properties.
Over and beyond is the best way to describe this experience from property owner, physical property, amenities, beach and location. I cannot say more. We are trying to book our next trip back here! I would recommend this to family and friends without hesitation.

glorious home and wonderful stay
We couldn't have been happier with our stay. The house is immaculate, exactly as pictured if not more beautiful in person. We stayed with our 3 and 5 year olds who adored the private beach and played non-stop in the shallow water. The house comes with beach toys, inflatables and boogie boards which was so fun to discover and meant the kids could play safely and happily for hours in the (break-free) water. Beds are so comfortable, linens plentiful, kitchen beautifully stocked with everything you can think of (waffle iron?! amazing). And Gina could not be kinder or more accommodating. She helped us with our car rental, with getting groceries delivered, bikes and kayak delivery - she was so responsive and thoughtful about our every need. Can't recommend this place enough. Perfect family get away.

A heavenly paradise 🌴🌺
I can’t praise this property enough. It’s quite simply the most beautiful place I’ve ever rented. And I’ve traveled the world all my life.
With it’s stunning views and direct access to the beach, it’s the perfect holiday retreat. The property owner and manager Gina couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. A totally wonderful experience.

Charming old Hawaii feel
This was our second stay at this lovely little house, and the incredible beach location makes it one of a kind. My only advice would be to not go during Spring Break, which brings many very noisy children. Our previous stay was quiet and peaceful. Our bad planning! We will definitely come again to hear the sound of the surf right below our windows and see the sunrise every morning

Paradise
This is a fantastic home with everything you need for that relaxing vacation. By far the best thing is that you just walk down the stairs to a beautiful private beach, only shared by the homes within the gate. The water is gorgeous and the beach is the perfect place to relax. And then when you are done, the outdoor shower is right on the way back up to the house. It was easy to walk to the starting point for the Pillbox Hike (maybe 1/2 mile) which we did one morning at sunrise. And it's an easy drive to town. We will be back to stay here again.

Fantastic location, beautiful property, LOVE it!
We have stayed in many places and many properties, but this far exceeded all of them! The location is , bar none, the best location we have ever stayed in Hawaii. The waves, the private beach, the constant breezes, and the fantastic views from all areas of the property took are breath away. The lava shower was the kind of shower I dream about. The service, linens, Maile hair products, and comfort of all couches, beds, added to the overall 5 star feel. We felt lucky to rent this Hawaiian paradise two times in 2017 and hope to even more in 2018. the ability to kayak right out front of your house and to be able to bike into town and eat at one of the many restaurants or the farmers market on Sunday adds to the fun.
Paradise.
Gina was always there to help with questions. Everything was spotless at arrival and well thought out. Highly recommend!!

Lovely, peaceful beachfront location with full amenities, close enough but far enough from town.
This location offered everything we wanted in a diverse group for a family reunion. Gina was wonderful! Would come back for longer next time, but would avoid the Christmas chaos of town.

Hawaii living doesn't get any better than this!
If you're going to come all the way to Hawaii for vacation, why not stay at a home on the beach? The view of the Moku islands, the calming sound of the surf, Lanikai beach and the Pillbox hike trailhead just a short walk away -- Hawaii living doesn't get any better than this. We're booking our third stay at Hale Kainalu. Host Gina took care of us from calling the bike shop to exchange a broken bike to delivering extra folding chairs, tables, candles, and linens for an outdoor BBQ. I would recommend this home to anyone who visits Oahu.

Great beach home
This is a very nice property. The house has a nice open feel with a territorial water view. The location is private and quiet. Yet it’s an easy walk to Lanikai beach. The owner is easy to communicate with and helpful. We plan to return!

Absolutely Amazing!
Beautiful house and location. Private beach was amazing. Enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding as well as floating on a raft in the crystal clear water. The house had everything you could need or want. Only a few minutes drive into town for shopping/restaurants.
Highly recommend and can't wait to visit again!!
