Just what i was looking for. Very comfortable and quiet. Ms Marie was a wonderful host. Very clean and well equipped

The cabin was exactly as described with everything you might need to cook with. It's only 4 miles from the highway, but you feel a lot more remote because of the privacy and rustic decor...Hummingbirds, blue berries and porch time. Bryson City and train rides > an hour away. Convenient to Asheville as well. Marie is great host. Highly Recommend.

The Star Haven Lodge was just like the pictures depicted. Loved the creaky floors and hillbilly hot tub. It was cozy! A few of the dishes we used needed rewashing, the outdoor tub needed cleaning before we could use it, and the grill wasn’t cleaned from the previous guests. Otherwise, our stay was great!!

What a wonderful stay at the little cabin! Quiet and secluded for perfect coffee and breakfast on the porch. Kitchen has everything you will need to cook in and you’re close enough to Asheville to head into town. Marie is a wonderful host and Princess on the porch to meet us when we checked in was a great touch. Highly recommend this cabin. The updates with AC and washer and dryer are great.

My best friend and I celebrated our birthdays at this lovely cabin. Marie is wonderful and very accommodating, and her Border Collies were a great addition with their occasional visits (bring doggie cookies!) The hummingbirds we’re a joy to watch, it is such a peaceful place and nice getaway.

This cabin was just as pictured. Host was a delight to speak with. Came by to make sure we had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable, had everything we needed for cooking. Having coffee and creamer provided was nice!

The property was just as described. Rustic setting and cottage but nicely kept and well furnished. Just about anything you’d need was available. A fun place to stay on the outskirts of Asheville. Near enough, but a very private and peaceful setting. The owl calling at night and the visits by the family border collie were extra special treats. The host was very responsive to any inquires and very nice to work with. We’d definitely stay again!

Well off of the beaten path and nestled in the nature. Well cared for, comfortable to live in. Loved Mary's note to "poke around"! I did and found everything you could wish for. It was too chilly to use the porch tub, but what a thoughtful and cool amenity! Take a blanket out and lay under the stars - so beautiful!! We saw the brightest shooting star!

This was my first VRBO stay. Everything was exactly as described. My husband and I could not have chosen a better place to spend our anniversary. The weather was a perfect 60 degrees at night so I could sit in the rocking chair on the porch for hours and just take in the forest. It brought a peace to my soul that I haven't had since my father passed earlier this year. I'm so grateful to Marie for this opportunity to just unplug and unwind. I've never had a vacation like this in my life and now I'm addicted.

Marie goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome! The cabin was perfect … had everything we needed and more. It was so peaceful and with minimal internet/cell service it was a great way to disconnect from hectic day to day life and reconnect with yourself, loved ones and the things that matter! The “hillbilly hot tub” was the icing on the cake!

This rustic cabin is just lovely. My daughter and I stayed for the weekend and fell in love with the place, land, and owner. I teased Marie and said I would leave a horrible review so others would not come and it could stay my secret. However the world today needs more pockets of peace. Truthfully, this property offers you that, you feel the stress fading away as you sit on the porch. I already look forward to returning!

This cabin was perfect for my wife and I. We wanted a secluded place for us to relax after a couple of days of visiting the Biltmore Estate. Marie was very friendly and had everything that you could imagine stocked in the cabin. It was very clean and had plenty of hot water. We will definitely stay here again if in the area

Hands down one of my favorite places that I have ever stayed. The cabin itself was absolutely awesome. The location and everything about it is exactly what I was hoping for. What made it even better was, the unmatched hospitality of the host Marie. She went above and beyond to accommodate any and all of our needs. She, in my opinion, had a perfect balance between connecting with her guest on a personal level all while maintaining a total respect of your privacy. I cannot say enough good things about this place other than that I will definitely be going back again.

Very nice little cabin, perfect for our needs. We were visiting with our daughter. Kitchen well-stocked with everything needed. The fresh eggs were so appreciated! Marie was a wonderful hostess.

Marie's magical cabin has it all!! It is a slice of heaven atop a mountain. Hospitality was amazing starting with fresh eggs left for us to enjoy. We explored during the day surrounding areas and went to relax and enjoy the oasis on the front porch. She was kind enough to mail my belongings to me I had left. I highly recommend the cabin and could not ask for a better host.

My wife and I loved our honeymoon getaway at the Starhaven cabin. We wanted for nothing! Everything needed was provided, and the cabin was perfect!! The hosts are instant friends and the watchdogs ( Heely, Princess) are instant companions. We definitely will be celebrating our anniversary with them.

We loved our stay in this authentic cabin! It is a wonderful property and Marie is a great host and greeted us first thing and recommended local sites to visit. Fall leaves were beautiful during our stay making this an Autum delight. Thank you for a great vacation!

Historic cabin in a nice quiet location. Host was very pleasant and the fresh eggs were greatly appreciated. Access road was very rough. Cabin was pleasant but bedroom layout was awkward. Great place to unplug as there is no internet and cell coverage is spotty.

I rented this cabin as a relaxing weekend getaway for my partner and I for their birthday. It did not disappoint! The cabin is extremely comfy and secluded high up on the side of a mountain. Be prepared to not have cell service or Wi-Fi when at the cabin. This will really give you an opportunity to relax and take in the beauty of everything around you. Cabin was well stocked with coffee, farm fresh eggs (from the host!) a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of linens to make the stay super comfortable. 10/10 take advantage of the tub on the porch as well! If you do feel like getting out and about, Canton, Waynesville and Asheville are all a short drive away. Our host, Marie, was absolutely wonderful and checked in to ensure everything was going well. A much needed relaxing weekend was needed and this was the perfect spot to do it. We will definitely be returning.

Ms. Marie had fresh farm eggs waiting, which were delicious. She also checked in to make sure I had everything I needed. The cabin was perfect for reading a book, listening to the creek and the crickets, or snuggling up to watch a movie. It is SO close to everything you could ever need, yet feels so remote.

Cabin is exactly as description states, relaxing atmosphere, very clean and organized, owner of property very friendly, called to verify estimated arrival time, left porch light on for us, checked on us to see if we needed anything, resource basket of local attractions and restaurant recommendations was very helpful. I look forward to another holiday at cabin in near future; I recommend this property for fun times and relaxation.

House matched up fairly well with the photos. Decor is very retro mountain cabin with lots of throw pillows, taxidermy, and handcrafts. Was slightly disappointed in the lack of natural lighting and the rooms both seem a bit cramped, but overall well stocked.
Host checked in daily from her house just visible from the front porch. Also there are border collies that will come visit - very friendly and gentle, well trained, sweet.
Dirt road up to the cabin is rough and not well marked. Wouldn't want to try it in a regular car. (Our Crosstrek had no problem.)

Enjoyed our stay. Marie, who owns the cabin, is the nicest person. We had candles to burn at night on the porch, coffee and creamer in the fridge, and cold mugs in the freezer! Thank you so much Marie. We will visit again.

Sweet serenity
Marie is exceptional. She gave my wife and I some fresh eggs for breakfast. She does a really good job with this cabin. It’s very isolated and queen quiet. No internet, no outside bothers. Exactly what my wife and I needed. We wanted a few days peace and rest and it’s exactly what we got. Highly recommend.
