About this house rental
Located in Merida, the original heart of the Mayan civilization, now the cultural and art center of the Yucatan Peninsula. It boasts excellent restaurants, art galleries, museums, theatre, a world class symphony and a rich 500 year history of Spanish, French, Portuguese and Lebanese influence. It's steps away from Parque Santa Lucia where you can find excellent dining and very close to the new gastronomic corridor - home to some of the best restaurants in the city. Also close to the beaches on the Gulf of Mexico (25 miles) and several Mayan ruins including Chichen Itza, a world heritage site. The house has 20 foot ceilings with a living room (with a pull-out couch), 2 bedrooms and very large gourmet kitchen that opens out to a terrace and private pool. The second floor has the primary bedroom with luxury ensuite and two terraces. All rooms feature natural ventilation and light as well as air conditioning in the primary and main floor bedroom.

Comfortable property in a very good location. Close to main plaza and cathedral. Lots of nearby activities in a lovely, friendly city. Thanks, Tim

Spacious home in the heart of Merida, with an impression of grandeur thanks to the high ceilings and tasteful decoration. We were two couples who shared this casa for one month and we thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the refreshing pool, since most days in Merida are quite hot. Only drawback is the loud music in the neighborhood on certain evenings and nights, as the casa is close to the action in historic Merida.

The house was gorgeous! We stayed by the pool which was so clean and just perfect. I will say that parking was a pain so just be prepared to hunt a bit before you can find a spot if you rented a car. Otherwise, all of the local attractions were in walking distance. Very easy stay!

Amazing home
This was our second stay at this property. It is an awesome home in a great location. We lived in the home for 5 weeks. Everything you need is there. There is great communication with the owner. The property managers are very responsive. When the water pump broke they were there immediately and a new pump installed within a couple of hours.

Just what we needed!
My husband and I just spent 2 weeks at this comfortable property. We particularly loved the 3 well-furnished separate outdoor areas for sun and shade, the quiet and effective AC in the bedroom, the washer/dryer, and the excellent water pressure in the showers. The location is perfect, around the corner from Santa Lucia. It was covid, so we spent a lot of time at the house, and the internet was fast and reliable.
Lupita, the property manager, was excellent -- always on whatsapp and responding to our inquiries within minutes. We had a serious problem with the water and she had a plumber within an hour and a new pump by the end of the day. What could have been a disaster was hardly a disruption to our stay.
There were good knives and pots in the kitchen, but no dishwasher and only very basic dishes. More than adequate for simple meals -- Merida is a great restaurant town, so we ate out mostly.
A couple of things to know: 1. there is a dramatic staircase to the master bedroom with no railing, so I would not want to bring small children. 2. the house would be small for 2 couples, but it was the perfect size for the 2 of us.
There was construction adjacent to the house, which was noisy and reduced our privacy, but the owner generously warned us about it before we arrived; we chose to come anyway and are glad we did.
This was our fourth visit to beautiful Merida, and this house was a great base for us. Thank you Lupita and Tim!

Lovely property spoiled by construction noise
We didn’t need or use the upstairs bedroom. The first floor king was more than enough. The pool was a delight and I was in almost every day, but too cool for my wife.
We thought that the construction noise would stop in the evening but it did not till 16:00-17:00.

Unbeatable location
The absolute best location in town. Huge space, great pool, strong WiFi for working remote, and amazing stocked kitchen. Look no further for a great place in Merida. Spent a month there and would definitely go back

Modern luxury. Centrally located
Our party of 4 (2 couples) had a great stay here. The house is stunning: beautiful, spacious, and luxurious, and in a great location in the center of Merida, just a few blocks to main squares, and less than a block to coffee, groceries, and shopping. Our host gave us great recommendations and was very accommodating. The local management was also friendly and available when needed. We just loved this place and would definitely look it up the next time we come back.

Great Property
Really enjoyed our stay. Would gladly go back to Merida and stay at this property. Next time, though, I would go in a cooler month! May is Merida's hottest month so we got up early, did our thing and then spent the afternoon lounging by the pool.

Comfortable contemporary casa on Calle 53
We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful home for our 8 day getaway to Merida in late April / early May. It has everything you need from a pool and relaxing lounge area complete with chaise loungers to two rooftop decks off the master bedroom. There is plenty of space for 4 guests to be comfortable and enjoy all that the city has to offer. We loved being so close to Santa Lucia park and being able to walk to dinner every evening. We would highly recommend this as a rental for anyone spending time in Merida.

Perfectly located, spacious, clean home!
We stayed for a week in this lovely home. It is so perfectly located, just around the corner from Santa Lucia Park, which is the best spot for dinners. Also just a quick walk to town, shopping, fabulous coffee shops. House is beautiful and clean. Two rooms on separate floors so very private and spacious. But above all, the owner AND house managers were so helpful and quick to respond pre-arrival and during our stay with any questions, help getting airport rides, bringing an extra key, which is awesome when you're staying somewhere new and unfamiliar.
Would definitely recommend this home to friends.

Gorgeous home, great location
What a gorgeous house. Perfect location in Centro and close to all of the action but still on a quiet block. The house itself has everything you could need and both bedrooms offer lots of privacy. The pool was so cool and refreshing and the outdoor space was perfect. We had a couple of hiccups with A/C and everything was taken care of quickly and easily. Highly recommend this home for your next visit to Merida.

Amazing Home with great location
Such a beautiful home that was nicely remodeled. The home is very private as has two master suites each on different floors. The 2nd floor is extremely private with two double balconies one facing the pool and other facing the street. The house is fully stack all kinds of items from wine opener to a cooler to take the beach. To finalize the staff from the owner is excellent as we have an issue with their front door key, the property manager showed up within less than 2 hours with a replacement. Truly a great home to spend with the family or friends.

A perfect location and excellent experience!
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful property. Just steps from all the action in Merida, we were able to enjoy this delightful city. The staff were great - very attentive to our questions and concerns. The property is even more beautiful than the photos suggest. We hope to return soon. Thanks for a fantastic vacation experience!

Great time in Merida
My wife and I rented Tim's property in Merida, MX from Nov. 2/2016 until December 10/2016 and loved our stay. The property is ideally situated in central Merida within walking distance of all the essential cultural activities/events and there are plenty to take in. Fantastic restaurants with some of the best eating we've experienced in Mexico. Super affordable and great value for your dollar. Guide provided by the owner at the property listing some great food choices and we also took advantage of on line reviews to make sure we didn't miss any of the top restaurants in Merida. Tim's property exceeded our expectations. The property is very nicely furnished, A/C that worked effectively when needed, comfy beds and linens, Dish network available so I didn't miss my NFL games, great kitchen with all the creature comforts to cook a great meal at home, attentive cleaning staff and pool service.
Great time in Merida and Great property that I highly recommend.
Thanks Tim

Modern home, great location
This is a gorgeous property full of beautiful artwork and architectural details. The location couldn't be better, right around the corner from Santa Lucia park where there is a lot of evening entertainment and a neighbourhood full of cool cafes, bakeries and restaurants. There are three deck areas within the house, each with a variety of seating options, and the stupendous walls make for a very safe-feeling environment. The house is very comfortable, beautifully furnished and has better than usual extras such as a Melita coffee brewer, henckel knives and a great gas stove. A wonderful choice for one or two couples wanting to be in the historical centre and to explore Merida.

Gem in Merida
This is a beautiful, modern, safe, clean, and spacious home. This home came well equipped and was tastefully decorated and has VERY comfortable beds and huge showers!! We stayed 19 days at this home and found it be to a true "home away from home", it lends itself to a very relaxing and calming atmosphere. The patios and pool are surrounded by very tall walls providing ultimate privacy and plenty of sunshine all day! The weather in Merida was about 30-38`c (April) everyday and the house was very comfortable with the ceiling fans and air conditioning. The house is situated perfectly in the centro and close to many restaurants, shops, bakery, grocery stores, and cafes (all within a comfortable walking distance!!) Merida is a beautiful and charming colonial city, we did many day trips to Progreso, Celestun, and Mayapan Mayan Ruins and the Cenotes. I would highly recommend this home to my family and friends, it was easily accessible from Cancun thanks to the ADO bus system. A special thanks to Alan from the property management company who greeted us at the home, promptly assisted us with any questions throughout the trip, and for helping us arrange a private chef for authentic Mexican cuisine.

Blissful magic in Merida
I just spent a week at this fabulous home and cannot say enough about it. I am a sixtyish woman traveling alone and enjoyed every peaceful loving and safe moment. The elegant modern home within ancient walls was everything it was purported to be and more. The location is absolutely perfect; Close to and within walking distance of everything I wanted and needed. Walking alone at night was a piece of cake. Heavenly and affordable masseuse, great hair dresser, English speaking library and gym right down the street. The opera, grand square, nightly entertainment, cathedral, Museum of Art, mercado, all less than 3 blocks away. The pool beckoned every afternoon after exploring. And exploring I did. There are day tours to any important ruin/site you wish to see, at a reasonable cost, great bus accommodations with AC and great guides. The house staff and the owner were absolutely wonderful. The internet worked impeccably. Lots of TV channels. Cab fare was very reasonable. All necessities are provided and the home is much more spacious than depicted. The twenty foot tall ceilings were fabulous. I've been going to San Miguel Allende for a month every year for over a decade until this year. As much as I love SMA, I must say it was trumped either by a change of heart that I have had, or the open loving hearts of the people of Merida. (or maybe both). Simply stated, a piece of heaven. Thank you.

perfect location...perfect accomodations
A beautiful home in the perfect location. Very close to all the central attractions yet very quiet. A huge amount of space... this place is way bigger than it looks in the photos. Very clean and set up for relaxation. The owner and rental agency are extremely accommodating and went out of their way to make our vacation one of the best!!

We Absolutely Loved It !
My husband and I spent the month of February here. With all the bad press Mexico has been getting, I have to admit to feeling nervous prior to our departure, however Tim assured us the city was very safe. He was right !!! We felt completely free to walk about the City both day and night without any worry or concern for our personal well-being. Merida is extremely well-guarded by both a State and Tourist Police Force both of whom we found to be most cordial and approachable. The people of Merida are amongst the friendliest and most helpful people we have ever encountered !
I cannot tell you how pleased we were with the Casa. The pictures really don’t do it justice ! It was everything and more than we hoped it would be - beautifully appointed, spacious and private. We cooked in most days for breakfast and lunch, which we enjoyed poolside or on the lovely rooftop deck. Each evening we dined out in one of the cities endless restaurants. The Casa’s location in the Historico Centro was perfection. Shops, restaurants, markets, grocery stores, museums, parks and nightly live music, were all within easy walking distance.
We rented a car for a few days and travelled to Progresso, Celestun, Loltun Caves, Chichen Itza and our most memorable dining experience at Hacienda Xcanatun. On Tim’s suggestion we thoroughly enjoyed the house tours offered by the Merida English Library.
A wonderful month exceeding all of our expectations. Thank you Tim, for all of your guidance, tips, suggestions and especially for sharing your wonderful home. We absolutely loved it !!!

a little oasis
The property was as described. The managing agent was very helpful with information about the town and things to do. The pool and the house were clean. Cleaning ladies came on Wednesday and pool people came on Thursday. Most everything that is interesting to do can be done on foot from the property. It's a little oasis in the city. There is some folk music or folk dance going on for free somewhere every night it seems, and almost every cafe has its own free live music. Great to just be at the house for peace and quiet, or go out and be in the bustle of the city.

Fabuleux
My husband, our 2 boys and myself have spend a wonderful week in this gorgeous house. Everything was closeby and we could walk everywhere. With the garden with the swimming pool, we were outside all the time and could easily watch our kids playing in the water. We warmly recommend this stylish house in Merida.

Beautiful home, great location
This is a beautiful home in a perfect location to enjoy Merida and the surrounding areas of Yucatan. When we got there after a long day of travel, we were welcomed with a large bowl of fruit on the table which set the scene for many enjoyable meals. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go in town and enjoyed the nightly entertainment in the square. Each morning we would go out exploring the areas outside of Merida - and spent time at four cenotes, two sets of ruins, and several lovely haciendas. The haciendas are not only beautiful but the restaurants are unforgettable. The beach at Progresso is close and the water was the perfect temperature for swimming. After each day of exploring, the pool at the house was a welcome sight! We would highly recommend this rental.
