This property is exactly as described and as shown in pictures. If you want that real Mexican feel you must stay here. Andrea & Jesus are great, in constant communication with us and very attentive. It was truly a pleasure staying in this house. We stayed almost 2 weeks and had a great time, we will be back!

Thank you Jesus, you were great and punctual, great communication with him and Andrea, we didn’t have the pleasure to meet Andrea but Jesus was very attentive, the house is amazing, it looks better in person, the pool kept us saved from the heat, we will be back for sure.
We rented the house for 15 days.
Thank you so much

The house is beautiful and spacious, with wonderful indoor/outdoor living. Andrea and Jesus were great throughout the process. The location is central to nearby shopping, restaurants. It is about 30 min from the beach and driving distance from Chichen Itza and cenotes.
There’s street parking and usually we’re able to park in front of the house.

Husband was very impressed with the house and the family loved all the historical rooms and nice having a pool to cool off in.

We loved our stay at Casa Noel! It had plenty of space for our family of five to spread out and the pool and terrace was perfect for cooling off. The location is great with easy walking distance to both Plaza Grande (15 minutes) and Paseo Montejo (5-15 minutes, depending on which part) - and so many beautiful sights along the way! Rex was very accommodating to us when we needed a last minute place for an extra night on our trip and a late check in. Would recommend Casa Noel as a great place to explore Merida and the surrounding area from!

Casa Noel was better than presented on VRBO. It is a historic colonial home that retains its charm and character. Clean, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Andrea, Jesus and Gaby were easy to communicate with, quick to respond to questions and very helpful. The home is just blocks away from the Paseo Montejo, 2 local and very good restaurants (Ramero & Le Creama) and walking distance to the Gran Plaza and most sights and markets. We were here for nearly a month and rate Casa Noel as a ten star stay. Thank you Rex, Andrea, Jesus and Gaby!

this house is a gem. More beautiful and more spacious than can be appreciated from the photos. We had a most enjoyable stay. The location is only a block and a half from the Paseo de Montejo, and easy walking to all Centro locales.
The property managers were prompt and effective communicators. When there was a problem with the washing machine, they had a technician there who fixed it in less than 24 hours. Top notch service.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

It was always wonderful to return to Casa Noel after a day in Merida. The house is really huge and looks even better than the photos. It felt like we were staying in a Merida mansion!
Everything worked well.
We would highly recommend Cass Noel for a group of friends or a family.
The location is quiet but still very convenient - loved it!

The house was true Mexican living with estate living in a tropical paradise!

This house is located two blocks from Paseo Montejo, and 15 minute walk from the main square in the downtoun área.
It’s a beautiful colonial style house with double height ceilings and vintage decore.
If you want to experience Merida from the guilded age perspective while enjoying everything the city has to offer this is a great choice.

We really enjoyed the location and it is just as it says. Important to know in the summer- the AC is only in bedrooms and the rest of the place can get a little warm, but the pool and open airflow for the rest of the place helps. To make the AC work best need to close off rooms as much as possible. Would love to come back when it is not quite so warm in Merida!

Gear stay, pictures don’t go justice to how big and beautiful house is. Great location, it’s so close to restaurants and paseo de montejo which was our favorite part of Merida. Laundry and pool were perfect. Kitchen was well stocked, easy to make quick meals. We also used grill, it was very clean. Showers were good. That said just a heads up, we were there during heat wave so living areas were warm. Bathrooms and kitchen were also warm but we adjusted after a day or two. Other then that we truly enjoyed our stay and we will never forget our vacation in such an amazing house. My kids loved the house so much.

This is a large, beautiful home styled in traditional Mexican decor. The tile work is beautiful! AC in bedrooms is wonderful, as are the many ceiling and floor fans, so we found the Casa very comfortable despite Merida being very hot everyday, and dipping pool was also a welcome addition. Our flight was delayed, Jesus was available to check us in and out without issue (although we weren’t able to communicate on what’s app for some reason- he saw our emails). Kitchen was stocked well, although we ate at restaurants all the time. There are window screens to keep out mosquitos, which isn’t always the case at other properties. The washing machine and dryer is located in a separate building out back which is nice, but the washer takes a very long time so don’t expect to so quick laundry! Casa Noel’s location is excellent, but blocks are long so bring good shoes and a hat, you’ll be doing a lot of walking! It on a side street, but close to main thoroughfares, and 10-15 min to Parks, and only 5 mins to the famous Paseo de Montejo with all the restaurants and mansions. PIENSA ROSA is newer restaurant in a yellow mansion, with the most fabulous food and live music. Restaurants everywhere are amazing, friendly staff, beautiful ambience, great yukatanean dishes. Shop owners are not pushy at all, like in some other tourist destinations. We did a day tour to Cenote Hacienda Mucuyche, which I highly recommend - buy tickets ahead for English tour. It’s very beautiful and not crowded. Merida is a terrific place to visit, the people are especially lovely and welcoming. We will definitely stay again at Casa Noel when we come back next time, there is more to see and do than we could get done in our 5 days in Merida!

We loved staying at Casa Noel. The spaces were so airy and elegant and beautifully furnished. Nice pool! Very refreshing on hot days. Andrea and Jesús answered promptly if we had problems or questions. We liked the neighborhood, the little businesses and friendly people. We would highly recommend this rental for a vacation stay.
4.0 / 10.0
The property is as described and the manager and owner responsive. But NOT problem solvers. There is a dog next door that barked incessantly whenever someone went to the pool area during the day and for hours at night when we were sleeping ...or trying to sleep and it barked loudly and long into the night as well as creating a chorus of neighboring dogs - all barking. When we emailed the manager, soon after our arrival, who then alerted the owner, we were told to call them whatever the time of day or night and they would call 911. To what end? 911 is for emergencies not barking dogs. They said they had asked the owner to stop the dog from barking and wanted our help. NOT our problem to solve as we were paying for the property and hoping for a relaxing and RESTFUL vacation. It was NOT!
Beautiful property, great neighborhood, but not a vacation rental until the dog is no longer living next door. I do not recommend this property.

This property is far more impressive than the pictures lead you to believe, it is gorgeous! Already looking forward to staying here next year. The location is spot on, the house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. My contact Andrea deserves 5 stars for her attention and quick responses. Do not miss the opportunity to stay here and enjoy the wonderful city of Merida.

We so enjoyed our stay here. It felt like a step back in history to be in a home with historical architecture. The addition of modern amenities made it so comfortable and the pool made it feel extravagant! Great location for walking all over the old part of the city. Excellent communication with the property manager was appreciated by us.
There is a “Red Book” of information that is available to guests and it spells out many details of staying at this house. Included in it is information about saying cool while sleeping and keeping your energy use to a reasonable level. We were worried about incurring a large electric bill from staying longer than a week but did not after following the suggestions for air conditioner use in this book. Opening the back door to the cool air in the morning and closing the house up once it gets hot outdoors is helpful as well.

Casa Noel exceeded all our expectations.
This home is the rare event where the pics actually underrepresent the property. We found Casa Noel even better than the images upon our arrival.
Features we noted:
-Comfortable Open Flow Home
-Area and Location Safe and Secure
-Great Stay for all Things Merida
-Walking Distance to City Center and Paseo Montejo
-Communication and recommendations from management team were timely, responsive, and their recommendations like with local guide were perfect.
Highly recommend this rental for a family.

I had beautiful stay and the property was just as nice we needed a few adjustments with the water and ceiling fans but they were fixed quickly professionally and handled very well with no issues I would recommend this property to others and would also rent it again as well the property was great the neighborhood was safe quite and everything was in walking distance restaurants museums and boutiques and other activities so I would say my over all stay was an excellent one glad I picked the property and to visit Merida Mexico.

Stylish house steps from the Paseo. Very spacious with 3 bedrooms, courtyard, pool.. just as described, tastefully decorated.
10.0 / 10.0
To start. We travel A LOT and hands down, agreed by my wife and son as well that this was the best vacation we had as a family.
From when the door was opened by Jesus to greet us we were a little taken back on how large the inside was. From the front it seemed narrow but upon entering we were very pleasantly surprised.
-Walking into the home the house had a great flow and more than enough space. There is much natural light during the day so lights are not really needed. For having buildings on either side the natural lighting from the front, rear doors and the roof were great. Having the rear doors open to the pool you have direct view from the main bedroom and the dining room. We opened them every morning to take it all in. Very relaxing. The rear patio beyond the doors is screened in so you can relax out there with morning coffee or a evening drink. The showers have quick hot water and that is HUGE for our family. Only thing is that there is limestone in the water system but this home and the area has better filtered water but should use the 5 gallon water that is supplied. You will have more than enough water unless it’s a big group. Bring a water container for each person so you can keep down the plastic usage. For showering you might want to bring an after shower conditioner for hair as the water will dry your skin/hair a little bit. Maybe some skin lotion if you have dry skin. All bedding and towels are supplied so don’t pack these items. If traveling with 6 people just let the owner/staff know and they will make sure they will have it ready. ALL are very responsive to your needs. Just plan ahead.
The kitchen- Well supplied with everything needed. *This is VERY important! You need to keep up with dishes and keeping the eating area clean. If not, you WILL have ants. These ants have lived here for 150 years. If you leave out a bag of chips, you will have an ARMY. Don’t leave dishes in the sink at all. Put anything you want out in a sealed container or place in the fridge. The plant atrium area is where they come from. Respect the ants. This is not a negative comment. It’s just reality. Don’t eat in you bedrooms, living room couches, bathroom, or you will literally have ants in your pants. You have an awesome DR table, cafe 3 seat table in atrium, back porch area, kitchen seating to eat. I hope you read this. Day 1 you’ll know how clean u need 2 be.
The location is perfect! The best. Everything in walking distance. Easy parking. Enjoy!

Beautiful & Unique
Casa Noel is a beautiful home and the location to Paso de Montejo is excellent. Lots of food choices, shopping and the wonderful street vendors on the weekend will enhance your stay. The house is unique.
The open air courtyard is wonderful during the coolest part of the day and the hottest part of the day it is challenging to cool. Air conditioning is a premium; so, use carefully. If you choose to use it as normal Americans, please do not be surprised by the cost. Take a photo of the meter when you arrive and when you leave. Inquire about the cost of additional electricity. You will enjoy the experience much more if you understand the electric is not included in the rent.
The pool is delightful and much deeper than it appears in the photos. At approximately 5' deep, it is a welcome delight to come home and cool off in the shaded pool.
The kitchen is wonderfully equipped and you will not lack for utensils or appliances. Everything from knives, toaster, blender is available. For a cook, the gas stove is wonderful with a full sized oven.
The tv can be a bit complicated. Please pay attention to directions and maybe write them down. Once you get the hang of it, the channels are available in English & Spanish.
Paper goods are a premium as well. Be frugal with toilet paper and paper towels. Don't be put off if you must purchase additional paper goods.
Casa Noel is beautiful and I recommend it highly if you want an authentic hacienda experience in the heart of Merida.

Great property!
This is the second time I stay at this property and it did not disappoint. I had an issue with my dates and had to make a change and they were very accommodating. The property is in an excellent location, surrounded by delicious cafes and restaurants. I highly recommend!

Great first time guess try
Without knowing it..i think i picked a great location and a great price. A better coffee maker would be nice. Too bad about the tiny ants. I understand barking dogs are all over town. I would stay there again.

Beautiful oasis near everything
We spent 19 days here, and loved retreating from the heat to our cool, beautiful place. It has 5 "public" rooms, linked one after another, ending with a patio that gives out to the pool. Love the inside atrium with tropical plans.
Yes, the water trickles in the bathroom, the shower takes a while to heat up, and put all your food in the refrigerator to avoid the ants. Neighbors have open courtyards too so sometimes barking and noise creeps in. That's life here.
So much is available within a 5-15 minute walk. Again, coming home to this lovely, cool oasis was wonderful.

Better than photos
It’s not often that a house is better than what it’s photographed as, but this one is. The property management team was amazing and helped arrange a cook to prepare a home-cooked dinner. The space is well ventilated and full of charm. You are also walking distance from cafes, shops, the old square. We really enjoyed breakfast at the feminist bookstore & cafe around the corner which was Jesus’, part of the management team’s recommendation. Also there is a cafe/bakery that sells very good wine & bread also around the corner from the house, would be good to update the guest book/guide. We loved it!!
Would come again and encourage friends to as well.

Nice place with some peculiarities
Very nicely decorated house; it is airy and roomy, but keep in mind it is an old house in a historic neighbourhood. The water pressure is not that strong, and the doors either creak or rub against the floor. But it is in a wonderful location with easy accessibility to many amenities.

Just 2 blocks from the Paseo on a quiet street with no busses. Easy 1mile walk to the Grand Plaza. Just 3 blocks from Santa Ana and only 3 more to Saint Lucia. Fabulous restaurants and Art galleries. Walking distance to Walmart for shopping. Safe and friendly neighborhood. The house is very well laid out. There are 2 living room spaces with hammocks and comfortable furniture(this is a big deal). The TV is a very decent size(48”-52”?¿) with all the channels and sports. The beds are quite comfortable(also a big deal) and the bedrooms are well stocked with furniture and hammock hooks. The kitchen has a great gas stove and is well stocked with equipment. We left food out often and never saw any bugs. And don’t forget the pool! Such a refreshing place to cool off at the end of the day. The manager was very responsive and helped us with transportation and even pre-shopping. This house is very well kept and a wonderful place to stay while you are in Merida. You won’t be disappointed

We loved our stay in Casa Noel! This is one amazing home. It is huge, with beautiful spaces including an indoor courtyard/atrium which is just so lovely to sit and have your breakfast in the mornings or tea in the evenings or any time really. There is a small swimming pool in the back garden which is wonderfully refreshing after a very hot day. It has beautiful furniture, lots of architectural features, Mexican designs mixed with colonial style. It also has one of best equipped kitchens of any rental property I have stayed in, and I have stayed in many! We cooked our Indian traditional meals most nights and it was a joy to have everything needed at hand in a beautiful kitchen. It is on a quiet street, close to the Paseo, and literally a two minute walk to the lovely French Cafe Creme (it's on the same street). The Paseo has many wonderful restaurants and has always been one of my favourite neighbours in my Merida.Andrea and her assistant Jesus are wonderful to deal with, they are responsive and very thorough in their instructions. I highly recommend staying at Casa Noel, I felt quite sad when we left, it was like leaving one's own home.

Pleasant stay close to central Merida
We enjoyed our stay in this restored older home, about a kilometer from the central plaza of Merida. The place was well-kept and clean. We received wonderful assistance from the property manager. Jesus answered several questions for us, and helped us work through some internet issues. The property itself was well-equipped with TV, internet, cable TV with access to Netflix. The kitchen is also well-equipped, and very easy to make meals either simple or more complex (but we ate out for lunch and dinner routinely).
Nothing against the property itself, but a couple things to understand about older properties. The showers had very low flow (practically a sprinkling), and it takes more than five minutes to get hot water. You can't put any paper products in the toilet - so you use a lined waste basket.
Regardless, you are very close to Paseo de Montejo (major boulevard), and within 15 min walking distance of a very large Walmart, plus multiple smaller markets, and plenty of restaurants.
Very safe neighborhood.
We drove a rental car while we were in the Yucatan penisula. A couple of cautionary notes: When buying gasoline, I recommend that you tell the attendant how many liters you want, because then you can monitor that on the gas dispenser. Hand them money after they finish, not beforehand. I had two bad episodes with dishonest gas attendants. Also, watch yourself with Mexican police. We were shook down by police for a payment because my daughter temporarily had taken off her seat belt in the backseat. Cost us $140, and if we had had the cash, they would have taken more.

Great location, good value.
My family of 6 stayed here for a week just before Christmas. Overall we were pleased with the property. Walking distance to many restaurants, museums, and markets. Lots of space for six people.
We were disappointed by a few things. The stools in the kitchen have screws poking through the seat, so a few of us ended up with holes in our clothing. The beds are not very comfortable, by the end of the week many of us were having back pain. We ran out of toilet paper after just two days so just bought more. It would have been nice if there were more bags for garbage. There was one bag in the kitchen garbage, but they ask that you separate organic from inorganic waste, so have to either buy more bags, or use shopping bags.
But we were pleased enough with the property that we would consider staying there again if we return.
