We had a rough start at first getting into our room, but after that, it was nice, all of the employees at plantation Hale were very nice. Room was Wonderful and very well stocked, wish we could’ve used the hot tub though. Thank you for everything.

We had a great time working remotely from this unit and squeezing in both weekends for fun activities. The layout and location of the unit are great. Kitchen has everything you might need. Property has Weber grills. There are beach chairs, coolers, paddle board, etc. to make you stay super comfortable. Highly recommend!

Condo was as pictured! Check the kitchen before you shop. Many spices and extras available for your use. We loved the location to many areas on the island. The bbq were nice ( and clean). NO issue checking in late as there is a guard on duty to give you the key to your unit. Heather is available should you have any issues.

Clean, comfortable, & convenient location
First time staying at a Plantation Hale unit & I’ve gotta say it exceeded my expectations. Heather’s place was clean & the AC (so crucial) was perfect. We didn’t get to utilize a lot of the amenities since we basically just slept there but it seemed to have a lot of the essentials. Would definitely recommend for families, couples, etc. because you really can’t beat the location either.

We enjoyed our stay & trying a new location very much! We liked that it was centrally located and we could go to either side of the Island easily!

Clean!Comfortable! Friendly staffNice amenitiesAir ConditioningNice location in KapaaThe only negative was that it was not oceanview or oceanfront. There is a wall and jungle between the condos and the ocean. It is only a few minutes walk so it was not a big deal and we would stay there again though. Great overall experience and close to everything in Kapaa.

Perfect for a getaway
This condo was very well appointed. Although the kitchen is not huge, it had everything you can think of and more. I made whipped cream using the hand mixer and chili in the crock pot. The lanai is huge with two sets of patio furniture. The bathroom is also a good size with lots of towels. My daughter slept on the pull out ottoman which converts to a single bed, while my son slept on the couch. The unit was very clean and the air conditioner was nice to have as it was hot.

Great location, clean.
We were happy with the central location of this property. People will tell you about the Kapa'a crawl but if you commute in anyajor city, that is nothing at all. The North part of the island was very accessible from here but so was the South. Short drive from the airport. Hikes and farm markers nearby. Safeway, Foodland etc within walking distance. The apartment itself was clean and spacious. It looks out over one of the pools/hot tubs. We were very pleased. The kitchen was also stocked with pots, pans, some basic kitchen supplies. Hotel staff on premises were also very friendly and helpful.

Location and comfort gets an A+
Kapaa is the perfect location to visit the island, if you are wanting to explore the island.
The condo has a very comfortable bed and couches. The condo was big enough for two people. The pool was very close (jacuzzi was hot!).
If you like to cook with spices, bring your own but the basics (salt, pepper and Italian) are there.
It was nice to have the beach chairs and towels in the unit. Coin operated laundry facilities was just down the back stairs and you can exchange for quarters at the check-in desk.
The Whole process went smoothly and we had a great time. Mahalo

Aloha Time in Kauai
The property is located in Kapaa, so by definition, the area is somewhat of a disaster at times when it comes to traffic, however, that comes with the territory. It IS conveniently located, so you're never more than a hour from anywhere important, whether it's Waimea or Hanalei Bay. Recent construction in the area made this trip a bit inconvenient, but that is only a temporary issue. The condo was clean, modern (although I would have like to have had a dishwasher, the size prohibits - deal with it!) and well stocked with everything you need. The grounds were clean, the pool hours appropriate, staff friendly and willing to help (the resort is a Best Western operation, other than those units privately owned like this one). All in all, a very nice experience.

Location and comfort!
This condo in Kapa'a is the perfect location to enjoy the entire island of Kauai. It is clean, quiet, and has an immaculate pool/hot tub. The lanai has a delightful view of the gardens, sweet birds, and we saw rainbows during morning coffee. It is withing walking distance of shopping/cafes and a 5 star restaurant is across the street on the beach Hukilau Lanai (don't miss the five course tasting!). Kapa'a Shoreline Trail (Ke Ala Hele Makalae "The Path that Goes by the Coast) is a paved trail easily accessed from the condo located about a mile north, and again south through Lydgate park. It is the best way to enjoy the east beaches. There are daily Farmer's markets all over the island, and all are less than a 30 minute drive from the condo. We found the one at the Community College to be the best, don't leave without a fresh pineapple sorbet! Kauai has some real hidden gems, their museum in Lihue, train ride/rum tasting at the Kilohana Plantation Estate, and a sugar cane plantation tour at Grove Farm.

It was beautiful, quiet and centrally located. There were plenty of amenities in our condo for us to be comfortable cooking and feeling like we were at home.

Excellent unit, clean and well appointed.
My wife and I spent a week in this unit in Nov 2017. It is a good size for a couple, with a fully stocked kitchen and king size bed. Overall, the unit was very clean and well maintained.
The complex it is in has a couple of pools, and is a short walk from the ocean. It is far enough away that you cannot hear, or see the ocean, but the shoreline breeze is evident. Sitting on the lanai was enjoyable.
The only reason I did not give the unit five stars is because of its proximity to the road. The position of the unit on the second floor near the end of the building puts it close to Kuhio Hwy. If you are a light sleeper, and like to keep the doors and windows open at night, be prepared for some road noise. The road is lightly traveled at night, but in the morning the traffic cranks up, so it can hamper sleeping in.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found the location ideal for going both north and south on the island.

nice accommodations
The condo is very nice and the location is great. The pictures were a good reflection of the unit and it had everything we needed. Enjoyed having the kitchen so we didn't have to eat out every meal. It was also nice to have the equipment for snorkeling available in the unit, that kept us from having to rent it. We used the beach chairs that were in the unit, and the information book about Kauai on the coffee table proved to be helpful as well.
When we arrived the air conditioner had quick working so the condo was uncomfortable and musty, but Jason responded to the situation very quickly and had a new unit installed the next day. We appreciate him taking care of this for us, it made a for a great week.
We enjoyed the shaved ice "Lava Flow" with vanilla ice cream from Hee Fat in Old Town Kappa, would definitely recommend that during your stay.
We enjoyed our stay on the island and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we were to visit in the future.

Fantastic Place to Stay in Great Location
My wife and I had a fantastic 11-night stay in this Plantation Hale (pronounced “hah-lay”) condo, celebrating our 10th anniversary. The spacious apartment was very comfortable, especially for an extended stay. The kitchen was well-equipped with appliances (stove, oven, microwave, toaster, crockpot, coffee maker, blender, popcorn popper) plus dishes, utensils, cookware, and basic cooking spices. Several evenings we stopped by Food Lion or Safeway grocery stores just .5 mile away to get fresh fish, then used one of the gas grills onsite to prepare dinner.
We were SO glad we stayed in the Kapaá area because of its central location. We could drive north to see places like Princeville (25 min), hit the trail for Napali Coast (35 min), and all the east and north beaches. Or we could drive south to Walmart in Lihue (12 min), Costco in Puhi (15 min), or to numerous towns and sunny beaches in the south and west. Traffic was normally okay except 4pm to 6pm. GPS worked great for maps on my phone.
We found “The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook” by Andrew Doughty EXTREMELY helpful getting around the island and choosing things to do. A copy of the book is in the condo, but we borrowed a copy from our local library so we could read it ahead of time.
We used the pair of snorkels/fins/masks available in the condo, plus the two sets of large beach towels. Also two folding beach chairs that were in the closet, which we kept in the trunk of our car so we could chill out on whatever beach we decided to visit at the time. The ocean is just 100 yards from the condo, so we walked there a couple mornings, sat in the beach chairs, and watched the sunrise. There was also a small cooler, some books, and some card games in the condo.
The bathroom in the condo had soap, shampoo, towels, hair dryer, and bathroom scale (really helpful for weighing suitcases before leaving). There’s a TV in the bedroom and living room. Wireless Internet was very fast. The window-unit a/c kept the suite comfortable while we were in it. The balcony looks out over the lawn and pool (and hot tub), and was a nice place to read or relax. And there is an iron, ironing board, and vacuum in the closet if needed. There is a coin-operated washer and dryer available on the first floor of the building.
The condo property manager was very easy to work with. Payment was a breeze, and we found everything just the way it was described or promised. We would DEFINITELY stay here again if we visit Kauai!

Great central location, wonderful price!
We booked this vacation condo literally two days before we went, assuming we would have to pay a premium for last minute reservations. In fact, we believe we got the best deal on the island. Most of the condos we looked at on VRBO were studios, and once we got to the island we realized that the a lot of the others were also in poor locations or in disrepair. Instead, we got a nice, clean, well maintained condo, complete with a separate bedroom. The couch pulls out to a queen bed as well, so this could be a great place for a family or multiples. A/C is included. The condo was well furnished for anything you might need on the island, with cooking utensils, snorkeling equipment, and lots of other things.
Location is great when you book, too. It is a two minute walk to the beach for wonderful sunrises, though swimming is not recommended at the beach. With a few more steps, you will probably find a small wading pool to sit in. Plenty of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance as well. If you want to head out of the immediate area, the condo is easy enough to go north or south. And since parking is included, you won't have a problem with your car.
There are three pools on the property, as well as an outdoor barbecue that Plantation Hale keeps gassed and a hot tub in one of the pool areas. It might be difficult to get hot tub time alone, but if you try late in the evening during midweek, you'll probably have some time. The pool is a great feature, since much of the island shuts down at sundown.
I'll echo what others have said in the booking process--it seemed a bit informal to me as well. The presence of so many good reviews helped ease that for me, which is why I want to chime in as well. In all, the owner and property manager were incredibly kind, helpful, and, most importantly, honest. It was wonderful to be treated so well despite our late booking. What's more, our security deposit was refunded in full and only took a short time to arrive in the mail (which was great since we paid with paypal and this allowed us to forgo the paypal fee!--Thank you Jason!).
The green area adjacent the condo and beach is a great location to fly a kite in paradise; there is a kite store in Princeville if you so choose. Also, go early and often to Lappert's ice cream!
In all, for what we got, we believe this was the best value on the island. We will definitely book again if we are so lucky to have vacancy the next time we visit Kaua'i!

Perfect little place in paradise!
My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to stay 16 days at this wonderful spot. You are in a great central location with many things within walking location. The property was exactly as described and the front desk is always very helpful on any questions you may have. I would definitely suggest trying out the Hukilau Lanai restaurant next door. I can't wait to start planning my next stay here!

Central location, well appointed
Great location! Close to groceries and mid island for easy day trips. Well equipped unit. We encountered a slow drain in the shower but emailed owners and it was fixed when we got back. Roosters love to crow right out the window...bring earplugs. Overall a clean unit. The fan in the shower needs a good cleaning which will allow for better ventilation in the bathroom. Laundry facilities in building work well and area is clean and secure. Good air conditioning. Unit could use a decent knife for chopping/slicing. The kitchen has it all and the owners supply great beach chairs, boogie board and a cooler. Nice to have the swimming pool and hot tubs. Front Desk staff are quite helpful. This is a second floor unit that overlooks one of the pool. If standing on the lanai and look left you can see the ocean across the green space.

Affordable condo in a great location!
The booking process is informal compared to other VRBO rentals. We were a bit skeptical, after talking with Jason and the Plantation Hale we were confident this rental was legit. My husband,16 year old son and I stayed at this condo for a week. The condo was much nicer than we expected. Air conditioning is included in the rental cost, which is not always the case in Hawaii. We were a bit surprised there is no dishwasher. It is well stocked with dishes, pans, blender, coffee maker, and various other basics, dish soap, shampoo, cooler, beach chairs, radio, bug spray, some snorkel gear and even the blue tour book Kauai Revealed, which we found very helpful to have in the rental car when touring around. The only things you need are your clothes, spices, food, beach towels, and sunscreen. The bed is incredibly comfortable,if you like hard beds this might not be the case. We did have a few minor issues that were quickly taken care of. The microwave was broken and we couldn't find a broom to sweep up the sand, Jason sent the maintenance guy over with a new microwave and broom right away. I can't remember his name, his card is on the fridge and he was a very nice guy. He even gave us a few tips on places with live music and happy hour. The condo is close to the local grocery store Foodland .We found the prices and selection very good. The Kapaa farmers market is nearby. We walked through the Plumeria lined paths to Trees Lounge several evenings for happy hour and live music. The beach is not swim able. We enjoyed walking the beach and met many locals along the way who were more than willing to stop and chat. Just past the public access path, there is a neat little sacred Hawaiian point of interest. We did not use the pools or BBQ areas. We were very pleased with the condo and its location on the island. We plan to stay here again when we return to beautiful Kauai.
