We LOVED the cabin, location riverfront yard and the sound of the river as we slept! Beds, bathroom & kitchen were clean and very well appointed and comfortable. The living room area needs a good cleaning. It smelled musty and my husband has allergies and couldn’t even sit on the couch. There were crumbs under the couch cushions as well. Unfortunately we had to move to another property though because the man that lives across the road was very unnerving to us and especially our teenage daughter. He would pace up and down the road and look in the driveway and once when my husband went out in car he came into the property right outside the window where my daughter and I were. We inquired about him, but no one could tell us if he was harmless or not, so we moved for peace of mind. We do wish him well if he is sick, but renters need to be aware of him and his condition when inquiring. Your home is a very sweet spot on the River none the less. We wished we didn’t have to move!

We spent a week with the cozy cabin as the base for our family of four. Location is great- note: it was helpful to have an SUV as the road to the cabin is gravel and has many potholes. Also close to some *amazing* restaurants (Koya kitchen and a little further to food trucks at Sandlandia in sandy). We also cooked about half our meals at the house. We did day trips to many hiking spots, mt. Hood, and the coast, though our kids were also happy to play along the edge of the Salmon River in the backyard. We couldn't bring our pup but this would be a perfect spot for those who can. Also note that (as with many house rentals) if you stay all week, on garbage day you'll need to bring the bins to the main road; not a big deal but we were glad to have the SUV for this as well since it was not super close. Wifi connection was great. This was the perfect spot for our summer vacation!

This property was lovely for a quiet stay near Mt. Hood. We enjoyed listening to the river while enjoying the porch swing. It also had a well-stocked kitchen with a good selection of pots and pans for cooking. The beds are raised up pretty high and my 6-yo needed a stool (which was provided) to get in and out of the beds. Overall a nice stay!

Amazing place with fire pit right by the lake.

Cabin is in a great location for exploring Mt. Hood and area. Gas fireplace was nice in the cool May weather. Make sure you have/rent a 4x4/AWD vehicle as the road in is in rough shape.

Not a bad place, could have been cleaner. The dogs toy went under couch, reached under to pull it out and got more than I bargained for, a pair of womens panties, how gross and disgusting.
Didn’t realize it was in a neighborhood of other homes, was under the impression it was out away from others. Would have been much nicer in a secluded area. The neighbor across the way was creepy. He would stand on his porch and stare at the house for long periods of time. On the brighter side it was very nice having the river so close. Would be a nicer stay in the summer, fish right out the door.

Loved the view of the river, the fire pit, we unfortunately did not get time to use, and the neat old styling of the interior with the exposed beams, and gas stove. Perfect for a weekend getaway cabin.

Quaint little cottage in quiet neighborhood with serine setting. Great little hideaway if you're looking to get away from city life and nature detox. Great little restraunts in area as well as fun hiking spots. Overall place is very well kept and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.

4 of us 55 yr old ladies getting away!
Had a wonderful weekend in this cute little cottage. We just came to relax by the river and that’s just what we did.
Older cottage (was great) BUT right when we got there and sat down on a chair at the dining table and the chair broke! (I’m not fat! Maybe a tad over weight BUT not to break a chair!)
Went to another chair, and super wobbly :(
Other than that, wonderful place :)

The cabin is very cute and my mom & I enjoyed our time there. It’s perfect for two people. It was lovely to sit on the porch and listen to the river and birds chirping. It’s a nice little getaway that isn’t too far from the city. I didn’t notice when I booked, but the house does not have a dishwasher, so be prepared to wash all your dishes by hand. It also doesn’t have any laundry machines, so if you get your clothes dirty enough to need washing, you’ll have to go to a laundromat. Also, bring toiletries because all the cabin provides is hand soap and some dishsoap! But all in all, we had a good weekend! Mom says she would stay there again and is already talking about going back. I might look for a place with a dishwasher…. 😀

We love this peaceful, quaint cabin to refresh our minds and spirits. I love to sit on the swing and listen to the Salmon River rush by. Such a gem.

Love the cabin. The chair in the dining could use some stability. Love the feel of the rustic place. You can sit in the front porch sipping something hot and look at the river. Was hoping to see any spawning fish. If you want peace and quite with a view, this is the place.

This is a perfect getaway spot! From cozy blankets to snuggle in with to windows that open to let the sound of the river flow in and a porch swing to enjoy coffee while breathing in the fresh mountain air, this house was perfect. It’s a cabin, a cozy one at that, in every sense of the word.

Cold until you figure out the heaters. Beds are laughably high, hard to get in or out. Like, 3 feet tall, which is rough for a 5 foot woman. But I'm nitpicking, everything there was nice and I'll go again.

Has everything you need at a great price on the river - rustic - I am a fly fisherman

We arrived unpacked. Dishes on shelf had dried food on them, couches and chairs were dirty with food stuck to cushion. We immediately left and returned home. Did not feel safe with COVID cleaning protocols not followed. Requested 50% refund. Have not heard be back. Very disappointed. Can not recommend.

Enjoyed watching the salmon run while sipping coffee from the porch swing. Home has a lived in feel which adds to its appeal. Our second time staying here, this time sans kids. One of my favorite places.

I love the clean, rustic vibe of the cabin. It is really inspiring to sit out at the river and just relax and dream while getting lost in the waters flowing by. Good for the soul. I found everything I needed to make meals and enjoy them while looking out of the dining space window.

The house was immaculate. Artful landscaping created privacy while maintaining full restricted view of the incredible Salmon River. Quiet and peaceful. Came for rest and renewal: mission accomplished and I will be back.

The place was older and fairly clean unless you looked under or behind anything. There was a very strange, unsettling, and very nosy neighbor who eliminated any feelings of relaxation and isolation. Lastly the description was not accurate and the communication with the property manager was atrocious.

Quaint cottage house that offered everything. I come for business every 4-6 weeks to Portland and took a couples extra days to fly fish the Salmon River and relax.
On the river and remote but just 2-3 minute drive to get your groceries ect.
The price value for what’s offered is beyond expectations.
You could see the Salmon spawning swimming upstream while sitting enjoying view from backyard.
I could not think of one thing that they did not provide that you tell yourself why don’t they provide that at other stays?
They let me check in early too and notified me of that.

Rating 4 stars mostly because the coffee maker didn’t work! We are big morning coffee people, we had to get dressed and venture out to get coffee instead of just making it. I tried everything to get it to brew. The only other things were the couch is comfortable but really low and hard to get up off of. The beds are all really high! Luckily there was a little step stool in the bedroom closet or I don’t think I would have been able to get in! But the setting is magical. The neighbor who was mentioned in many reviews, “greeted” us before we got in the house and the next day I saw him through the window walk over and look up the driveway. A little concerning, but I think he’s just watching out for his neighborhood. Or nosey. Who knows. Sitting by the river or on the back porch was just peaceful and beautiful.

Place was as described. Very clean.
I was there with temperature 95. Cabin was very warm. No AC. I left a night early.
Just bad timing. I would go again. There is a somewhat intrusive neighbor that is repeatedly discussed in guest book. Probably, should be talked to. Some women would be uncomfortable. Although he seems harmless.

Property is in a great location. It's very relaxing to sit out back near the river. The property is conveniently located near restaurants, coffee shops, and groceries, as well as several hiking trailheads. It was well equipped and very comfortable.

I don’t want to say how healing, quiet, peaceful and beautiful this place is because I don’t want it be unavailable the next time I want to rent it!!

Nice to be on the river. It’s rustic but it has what you need. Thankful the pipes are insulated because it got in the twenties and we still had water. Good location for a short trip to Mt. Hood.

Perfect spot to getaway and enjoy some quiet. The house is cute and cozy, we cooked our meals there and kitchen had what we needed, the location is pretty, the weather was perfect, and our dogs loved exploring the yard and river.
Only cons would be the flooring mainly in bathroom and hallway feels pretty squishy (especially around the toilet), there's no plug for the bathtub, and the toaster didn't work.
We had a perfect weekend here and would come back again.

Loved the cabin and all its thoughtful details. Trying to resolve the fact that there was no water the first night (frozen pipes) was made difficult by the layers of VACASA./ VRBO. 24 hrs after reporting it, we got a call from VACASA saying the pipes were frozen so they were going to relocate us. By then pipes had thawed so we chose to stay. Requested s refund for first night which we received promptly but, of course, the added fees were not reimbursed. Will probably never go thru VACASA/ VRBO again.
