To truly experience and enjoy this country it is best to Rent a Car and use Montepulciano as a base from which to organize day trips to the most popular cities: Florence, Rome, Siena, etc. You will not only wake up to unparalleled views from the spacious house an get a lot more for your money but you will also avoid the hustle and bustle of the big metro areas. So, Instead come and enjoy the dolce vita (sweet life) in a peaceful and traditional italian town that has served as background to many popular movies (Under the Tuscan Sun, The Twilight saga, Letters to Juliet, English Patient and more.) From the you can walk to many historical markers and enjoy the day at your own pace or simply take the car and do a scenic drive on to the next cute town of Pienza, visit a castle in Montichiello or go vineyard hopping for example. There are so many options you can choose from, that is why Montepulciano and Casina Pellegrino, offer you the best of Italy no doubt.

Good communication with owner. Plenty of space for the four of us. Dinners on the terrace were marvelous as we looked out across the countryside. The only consideration would be to know that the house has no AC

Location is superb. 3min walk to town wall entrance. We visited many towns in Tuscany and Montepulciano was our favourite. The views from the balcony are better in real life.
Wonderful stay.

The host of this property is organized and responsive - the best I’ve dealt with to date! But what really sets this property apart is the incredible views. We arrived at night, so imagine my jaw drop when I woke up and looked out the window! We sat outside as much as we could.
The town of Montepulciano is a gem. Walking into town from the house was easy - hilly, but easy because we get stopping to appreciate the views. We visited churches, stores, and wineries. We shopped, and we ate!
We didn’t have a car, so we took a guided tour one day of some Montalcino wineries, Pienza, and the Tuscan countryside. Otherwise, the train from Chiusi was how we got to and from the town.
The house accommodated eight of us and was well equipped. Overall, we loved this experience!

Perfect location! Easy walk to town. Plenty of room for large families. Easy to work with. Had to carry my wife out of there kicking and screaming cause she didn't want to leave!

We did an “immersion” trip to Montepulciano and it was a perfect location! More room than we needed and very comfortable. Erika was fabulous to deal with before during and after our trip. Lots of great day trips within an hour added to our adventure. Highly recommend!

Accolades:
- Historic home is 15 minute walk to the center of town.
- View - gorgeous
- Good communication from host even though it appears she lives in Texas
Opportunities:
- No way to prevent neighbor from parking in driveway. We had to park in town because a neighbor took the space without asking permission.
- entire house is IKEA. Beds, futons, chairs, tables, dishes, glasses, and on and on. A little decorating personality could go a long way to making this historic home inviting and warm.
- very narrow spiral staircase — difficult to get luggage to bedrooms. Not suitable for young children or older family members.
- no laundry detergent- guess housekeeping forgot to replenish as it’s included in the listing
- no dishtowel to wash or dry pots and pans. Had to use bathroom hand towel. There was an old sponge under the kitchen sink but a fresh sponge should be included for each guest - they’re really cheap.
- no soap in shower. We took the hand soap from the bathroom and moved it back and forth from the sink to the shower. The soap container had about one inch of soap in it for 4 nights
- blankets. Turning the heat on is strictly forbidden but there were no blankets for the beds. We took covers off of futons to keep warm at night.
- We got 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel per guest for a 4 night stay
- beware prev guests wash and put away the dishes you will use - not everyone has the same cleanliness standards.

This property was in a great location with a fantastic view. It was also so nice to have a dedicated parking spot right out front. The communication with the property manager, Erika, was excellent.

If you ever find yourself in beautiful Montepulciano, be sure to check out this rental. It is gorgeous, spacious, clean, and absolutely delightful. From large terrace spaces overlooking the Tuscan hillside to multiple spaces for sleeping and gathering, you will not be disappointed. There is even beauty in the bathrooms! The bathroom window looks like a work of art. Montepulciano is a stunning town with lots to explore. Be ready for steep hills and cobblestone roads. Put on those comfy walking shoes before hitting the wineries! I hope to make it back here again one day!

This house was perfect for our family of seven. It is located just at the base of the stairs into the walled city. The views from the house are spectacular. The back patio was a wonderful spot to enjoy wine and cheese and family. The kitchen is well stocked and one night we bought delicious dinner supplies in town (pasta and truffles!) and cooked in. Erika was extremely helpful and prompt with her responses. I would highly recommend this property.

I can’t say enough good things about this home. It’s views are spectacular, it was in immaculate condition, and having a place to park your car is a huge plus. We stayed 5 days & I didn’t want to leave. I will definitely stay at this casa again. Hopefully, next time will be for a couple weeks. It’s literally walk out the door, walk across the street, & walk the stairs into montepulciano! Absolutely perfect!

This property is by far, in my opinion, the best for Montepulciano. We had parking right outside the door (this is a big deal in Montepulciano), were a short walk from a grocery store, and little uphill stroll (like 4 minutes) and we were inside Montepulciano. The advantage of being just outside is that it was quiet and off of our 3 decks we had an amazing, unobstructed view of the Tuscan countryside. The pictures on the listing don’t lie. It really is as beautiful and spacious as it appears. Erika was amazing to work with. Responses were quick, and helpful. This was an amazing home for a week, you won’t go wrong booking it.

The property is a 5 minute walk up hill to the center of town. The views from the two well appointed verandas of the Tuscan landscape are stunning. Erica was on hand to show us the property and had taken care of every detail - from a well stocked kitchen (with a bottle of wine for us;-) to comfortable beds and fans in each room. She went the extra mile, in helping us park the car and even called a couple of local restaurants for us where she knew the owners as we arrived late, hungry and without a reservation. A great space for families or couples with plenty of room. Highly recommended!

Montepulciano is a hill town. The house is on the side of the hill offering an incredible view of the land below. There are a number of patios affording space to relax, have a bottle of wine, and take in the views. Parking is a bit of a challenge but there is a lot about 50 meters up the road and we always were able to find a spot. The house is very comfortable and has all that you need. Once you get used to the initial climb into town it gets easier and easier. It is easy to explore not only Montepulciano, but the surrounding towns as well. Don’t miss the farmer’s market at the bus station about 500 meters away. The owner is very easy to work with and bent over backwards to communicate and try to make our stay as pleasant as possible - and she did. We loved Montepulciano and wouldn’t stay in any other house.

We had 4 couples staying at the villa. We walked everyday across the street to town. It was so easy! Our views were amazing over the vineyards. The only thing I could say is taxi's to cooking class or vineyards should be arranged ahead of time. We would stay here again, thanks!

Stayed with 2 friends for a wine tourism trip in the region. Drawn to the Casina by the location and the charm. Location was good, just outside the city of Montepulciano with a short walk up the hill to the town. Disappointing for 3 reasons; First the quality of the furnishings bedding and towels were not at the standard I expected at this price point. Second the access to the upstairs is via a rickety spiral staircase that was challenging. Third heating was an extra charge which was not disclosed until after I booked. We had cold nights and didn’t feel that we could turn on the heat. My assumption is that heat be included in the price when I rent.

We loved staying in Erika’s beautiful apartment. It was such a great location, just outside the walls of the village and a short walk to the Porta Farine for access. We sure did get our exercise! Big hills to climb. It is a “hill town!” The apartment is lovely with everything we needed for a relaxing visit. The terrace was our favorite place to sit and enjoy the view with our glasses of vino nobile. We had perfect weather with wonderful cool breezes at night. We cooked in one evening and had everything we needed for our Amatriciana and salad. We were with another couple and had so much fun exploring the region. So nice to have our parking spot right in front! We did take a tour of the Poliziano winery as Erika suggested and loved it! Can’t wait to return! Can’t get enough of Italy! Thank you, Erika, for your easy instructions and excellent communication!

My sister and I stayed for an extended period of time in Erika’s Casina and enjoyed every moment. The location is ideal, within steps of charming Montepulciano and close to shops, restaurants and other hilltop villages. The Casina is comfortable, well equipped and has a parking spot - a rarity in Montepulciano. The view is magnificent! Erika is a wonderful host and I am looking forward to returning to her beautiful property someday.

We loved our stay at Casa Pellegrino. The views are just gorgeous - even from the bathrooms! The house is very comfortable and well-stocked; though we didn't end up cooking here, it would certainly have had everything we needed. The house was the perfect base for our explorations into the lovely Val d'Orcia and for strolling the streets of Montepulciano. We appreciated Erika's many recommendations and attention to detail. I was just sad that rain kept us from spending more time on the patio/balconies.

Beautiful Views. Lovely home.
The views of the deck are spectacular and Erika's home was very comfortable and clean. It is a short hike up to the town gate and about a 15-20 minute walk around the village to a big grocery. There was plenty of space for a larger group - 7 twins, a queen and a couch, 2 baths. Erika provides a huge document with insight into area amenities and attractions. We would stay again. Thanks.

Beautiful view out the back door!
This house had a beautiful view of the Tuscan countryside out back, from the rooms and the patio. The front of the house seemed to be on a busy street but once inside you forgot about the traffic. The location was very convenient, a short walk up the hill to the center of town. The kitchen was well equipped and the house had plenty of space to relax. The morning sunrise over the hills from the back bedrooms was beautiful. The 3rd bedroom in the front of the house was the only one without a view, we chose to sleep in the back family room with double daybed/couches instead, so the sleeping arrangements still worked fine. The owner was very informative and left a great bottle of wine for us to enjoy. A great start to our vacation!

Wonderful
A great apartment located very conveniently for the fabulous old town of Montepulciano. The apartment has a great two level balcony, ideal for taking in the morning views with a cappucino, or relaxing in the evening with a glass of local wine. Be aware, the mosquito’s are out to get you though! Would definitely recommend this Casina for anyone visiting the area. Thanks to Erika for all the information.

Beautiful views and close to town
Absolutely beautiful views from the terraces. The location is amazing as well, quick walk up the stair in to town for dinner every night. The convenient parking spot out front was really helpful. The villa itself is very charming and spacious. It was just my husband and me on this trip, but there was plenty of room for many more people. Working with erika was also super easy. I would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous place!
We had an amazing experience at Casina Pelligrino and it was so hard to leave! The place was just beautiful; kitchen had plenty of utensils and pots and pans as we took advantage of market day and bought fresh ingredients to make delicious meals. The beds were very, very comfortable. I had read about issues with road noise, but I have to say that it was minimal and didn't bother us at all. There were 4 of us and the showers were hot. And then there was that terrace with views that I will never forget. Not only is the view beautiful during the day, but the night skies, away from big city lights, were also amazing. Bird watchers will love watching all sorts of birds swoop down over the valleys. The restaurants were all amazing and within a 5 - 10 minute walk away. Grocery store was a 15 minute walk or an easy drive into town. One of the best places we've ever stayed at and can't recommend highly enough!

Gorgeous Views, Beautiful, Clean Apartment and the Best Owner!
I did not know anything about the Tuscany region, but when I wrote to Erika Pellegrino, she so incredibly helpful in assisting me in planning my itinerary with suggestions of how best to get to her from Rome. I asked so many questions and she was so patient and accommodating.
Her home is gorgeous with breathtaking views. It is walking distance to the best restaurants and shops in Montepulciano. I am so glad we stayed there because it was easy to drive to some of the smaller towns on the way to Siena as well. It is also not far from Florence and an easy drive to Pisa and Lucca. I have already recommended this home to a friend heading to Tuscany in the fall. My family loved it here and I hope to be able to return again and spend even more time just relaxing on her two terraces with a delicious bottle of wine!

Great Stay - Wonderful House, Fabulous Village
My wife and I had a wonderful stay with our 4 adult daughters. The home is in a fabulous location and Montepulciano is an incredible hilltop village in Tuscany. We enjoyed the short walk to town, the proximity to other villages and cities like Siena and Florence. Being able to park at the house was a real advantage.
The house is comfortable with plenty of beds and the views are amazing. The owner was very responsive and made certain the house was ready and gave us excellent advice on Montepulciano (including where to take a cooking class which we loved) and the surrounding areas. We wish we'd had more time to explore even more of this beautiful region in Italy.
Some prior reviews mentioned traffic noise, which is present in the daytime from the street far below the home, but it did not distract our stay. Also mention of water pressure, which was low in the downstairs shower, but adequate especially when you consider the location, views, etc.
We would gladly rent this home again.

Wonderful views and easy walk to town
Great views of the Tuscan countryside, and an easy 5 minute walk into town. There is even a small convenience store right at the top of the steps when you get in town. We were able to park our van in front of the garage, which was super convenient. We were able to use some of the herbs from the back yard for our cooking class as well! Great home base for exploring all the neat towns and wineries in the area. Pienza was super close and a neat town to visit.

Fantastic place to stay in our favorite Tuscan hill town.
We stayed here for four nights in mid-September, 2017, and couldn’t have asked for a more convenient location. It was a five-minute walk into the heart of old town Montepulciano. While this house is situated between two busy streets, and did have some street noise when we were sitting outside, the view of the Tuscany hillside and the short walk into town more than makes up for it. Our biggest problem was which of the three outside patios we wanted to sit on.
Though the house is not decorated in Tuscan style, it is clean, roomy, and everything we needed as far as appliances, kitchenware, etc, was readily available and in good working order. The owner, Erika, sent copious notes ahead of time as to suggestions of where to go winetasting and what to see, and she was easy to reach with any questions. We would definitely stay there again.

Great apt and views, some street noise
My wife and I had a fabulous time staying 3 days in the apt. Erika the owner, was outstanding with her support. The views from the balcony are to die for. The traffic in the street below takes away a bit from otherwise a perfect experience.
Will return to this apt if in town.

Couldn't have asked for more!
I can't say enough good things about this place, it was perfect for us! We were a group of 6 and there was plenty of room for everyone. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed to cook dinner in one night. It was a short walk into the adorable town of Montepulciano, which we loved. I think our favorite feature though, was the back patio overlooking the Tuscan countryside. Beautiful. I wish we would have stayed here longer. Erika was such an awesome host , giving us tons of helpful info before we arrived, and she replied quickly to our questions while we were there. Would stay again in a heart beat, hope to return one day! Thank you for everything, Erika! :)

Montepulciano stay @ Casina Pellegrino - superb location!
My wife and I stayed at this property in mid-June '17 as part of our 10 day tour of Italy. We started our journey in Rome, then traveled to Montepulciano, and finished in the Amalfi Coast. The villa was clean, extremely spacious, and offered amazing views of the countryside. The outside terrace smelled of honeysuckle and was super peaceful. The villa came equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator and full kitchen. The property was conveniently located within minutes walking distance of town square Montepulciano and all the shops, restaurants, etc. We had a rental car and did a few day trip excursions out to Montalcino, Perugia, Pienza, and Castiglione del Lago for wines, chocolates, cured meats, and cheeses. It served as a great "home base" while we explored the neighboring towns and cities. The only recommendation we have for the landlords is to provide some oscillating fans in the bedrooms for guests. The cool breeze is very nice in the evenings but fans would help a great deal. We would highly recommend this property to our friends and family.
