Morro Bay is one of California’s great Central Coast communities The area has become famous for its beautiful state parks, bird estuary’s, and the distinct Morro Rock. Tourists and locals both enjoy a variety of activities in the area, including fishing, surfing, kayaking, golfing, bird watching, beachcombing, or just relaxing and enjoying the sunset. Besides the nature and recreation of Estero Bay, there are also fine restaurants, and unique shops. Morro Bay, the largest of the three cities, is at the heart of Estero Bay. Morro Rock, the last in a chain of long-extinct volcanoes, covers over 50 acres at its base and towers 576 feet above the entrance to Morro Bay. The waters that make up the bay are contained within a three-mile sandpit and the shores of Morro Bay and Los Osos. The local fishing industry is one of the most important along the California Coast. On the Embarcadero, you can shop, walk to Tidelands Park and play on the pirate ship, or simply sit and watch as the boats make their way to sea.

This was our 47th annual "Guys" trip - and we all agree this was one of the best. The house was better than expected, the area was simply delightful, and everything was better than we were used to. Kudos to all!!!!!

This is a very nice property and worked out great for our group for the Morro Bay Car show

We come to Morro bay every year for a family gathering to remember my dad & this home was absolutely gorgeous and we hope to stay again. Great communication and overall great house.

Perfect for multi generational families. Very clean. The ottoman by the wonderful, family oriented, sofas has old games and puzzles- (could be cleaned out a bit). The Bosch dishwasher takes way too long! Other than those two issues, this VRBO was great. We had a great experience.
4.7
We enjoyed our stay. Peaceful and comfortable with short walks to great food and shopping.

Fantastic place for a group. A nice sized, functional kitchen, expansive common areas, and a king bed for everyone! Walkable to everything, peaceful and quiet.

My family and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving holiday at the Driftwood house. We spent much of the time in enormous family room and in the large well-appointed kitchen. Our dinners around the big dining table were wonderful. The sunny porches were also enjoyed. The house itself is surrounded by other large homes and apartments, so no view to speak of, but it’s a short walk to the end of the driveway to see the beautiful ocean. It’s a very comfortable home and there were plenty of towels and other amenities (paper towels, tp, and soap) available for our stay.
It was fantastic to be able to walk to downtown and the waterfront, which we did many times daily. Morro Bay is such a charming town. Highly recommend Giovanni’s fish market for very fresh fish! And the house was only 1/2 mile to a large Albertson’s grocery store. We barely needed our car.

Great location for family and friends to stay under the same roof and get into town by foot and see sunsets by the rock from location

My stay was overall good. However, there are a few things I would point out for perspective renters. The property manager must have issues with the surrounding neighbors. During the booking process, there were lots of warnings about parking and noise. Inside the property, on every window, there are warnings about quite hours. I felt that this should be fully disclosed before the booking vs. afterwards. Our group is quite and had no issues. The warnings from the property management company seems excessive.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would stay at the property again. I just found the warning too intrusive.

Our group of four couples had a great time reconnecting at the Morro Bay rental. The bedrooms, living area, dining area, and kitchen were all perfectly sized for eight people. The kitchen was the most well-equipped of any rental we have ever gone to. While the noise restrictions made us a little nervous, we followed the guidelines and had no issues. Overall a great stay!

Beautiful house within walking distance to everything you could need

The house itself is lovely. It was clean and comfortable. There is some minor wear, like curtain rods pulled out from the wall. The driveway is a bit tricky to navigate in reverse. The refrigerator wasn't cold when we arrived. We called management and they couldn't address the issue until the following day due to rain. They put a mini fridge in the garage. We fiddled a bit with the main fridge and got it working although it never felt quite cold enough. Also it would have been helpful to know that the main entry to the house on the first floor provides access only to bedrooms and one bath. The second level has the kitchen and living areas and the primary bedroom. So climbing stairs is required and that was very hard for my senior parents to manage. The house contains a lift but guests are not allowed to use it. Had we known that stairs were required we might have stayed elsewhere.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were two families who wanted to spend some time together in a scenic locale. The property was nice and large enough to sleep our entire group of 9 (4 adults and 5 kids). The common areas (family room and dining table) were spacious and very comfortable. The bedrooms were all a good size too with comfortable additional lounging like couches. If we had to make a suggestion, it would be to add a tv to the master bedroom and replace the existing tv’s with larger screens. Also, the close proximity to neighbors warrants window coverings that would offer more privacy in some rooms.

The house was far more better and nicer than the pictures online. We enjoyed our stay there. We definitely recommend it for a big family.

A great stay for a family that loves to walk everywhere!! We walked the farmers market, downtown and took the kiddos to the park….we can’t ask for a better place
4.7
Perfect for our family group
Plenty of room to be together yet also areas for personal time as well. Neighbors are very close so we kept the noise level down which wasn’t difficult. We had three vehicles and ample parking for all between the garage and driveway. Very enjoyable stay.

Great location, great walkability
I booked this place for a family get together with me, my parents, and my sister and her family. The initial check in was pretty smooth. My sister said the house was a little musty upon checking in so she opened windows. I got there an hour later and it seemed fine to me, so it was minor and aired out quickly.
My sister and her husband had some issues lighting the stove. We got it to work, but the igniter would either not light the gas, or it wouldn't stop sparking once the gas was lit. This seemed to happen less over the course of our 5 day / 4 night stay, but my sister and her husband spent more time than they would have liked to get it working.
Besides these hiccups, this home gave us the space for a number of great meals, and provided a good relaxing space for lounging and going out to explore Morro Bay on foot or in car. Given the chance I'd stay here again.

Beautiful house.
We loved the house. The location and drive way is a bit awkward for full size vehicles but not unmanageable, the quiet hours 7p-7a was a bit of a learning curve with excited kids and toddlers. Other than that the beds are all great, one of the “kings” is two twins pushed together.

The Driftwood home is beautiful. It is spacious and well-appointed. Our group of 7 enjoyed hanging out together in the living room with a fire in the fireplace in the evenings and sleeping in our own bedrooms at night. Everything was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. We were walking distance to the shops and just a short drive from the Elfin Forest. If we come back to Morro Bay, we’ll definitely pick this house again.

Great place if you don’t have children
This is a beautiful home in a great location but comes with a downfall if you plan on bringing children. I do not recommend this place to anyone who plans on taking children. My children along with my nieces, could not play outside after 7pm without being yelled at to be quite. According to the police who came out, their department is called at 7:01 pm every time the home is rented out. Police officer informed us that we had nothing to worry about, that the children were fine, and to carry on with our vacation.

Very comfortable and enjoyable stay for me and my family. Close to the water in Morro Bay, plenty of space for hanging out, well-stocked kitchen, and comfortable and clean bedrooms. Would recommend to any families looking to get away.

Lots of rules
This house is beautiful, it has lots of space, close enough to walk to the Bay, and I got quick responses from the rental company about any questions. But, there are numerous signs on the windows and doors telling us to be quiet by 7:00 pm!!! I found myself constantly telling my guests not to laugh, not to talk loud, not to play music, etc... It was hard to relax. Even though we had to pay a hefty cleaning fee, we were still encouraged to strip our beds and wash our own towels. On the bright side, if you have an older, quiet group, this place is for you. It has 3 decks with chairs to sit and meditate!!👍😉
4.7
Very rigid “rules”
Very rigid on check-in/out times, and not willing to be flexible at all. Too many Rigid “rules” to work for more than 4 people.

Weekend in Morro Bay
My friends and I were a little taken aback with all the signs telling us to “Be Quiet”. I guess a nearby senior residence has made complaints about the house. We also felt somewhat boxed in by the setting. The rooms were comfortable enough. All in all it was a good stay but not great.

golf
8 old golfers had a good time and were comfortable at the place.

Hidden Gem
We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. I saw the warnings about sensitive neighbors, but that never affected us. We were a group of 6 siblings and spouses that came up to visit family. We were pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the house was, especially the master bathroom. The only thing is we wished we had more time to enjoy the house! We were out and about for most of the weekend, but it was really nice to come back and relax on the massive couches. Items to note: There is no a/c, but we didn’t need it at all. You can hear the foghorn faintly in the distance so if you’re sensitive to noise when you sleep, bring earplugs. Communication with the property managers was AMAZING!! We felt very taken care of. And the best part is everywhere in Morro Bay is in walking distance. I would totally come back for hopefully a longer stay.
4.7
Great for Exploring Morro Bay
The house is very nice, well furnished and stocked, and in a wonderful location, as all of the downtown area is accessible on foot. The noise sensitive neighbors are the only drawback - we got yelled at twice for having normal voiced, very brief conversations in the driveway in the middle of the day.
