About this house rental
Our 4-season 3 1/2 star waterfront vacation home is located in the village of North Rustico...one of PEI's most popular vacation destinations! North Rustico is a small, active, fishing village located just east of Cavendish. We are a 20 minute drive from the airport, a 45 minute drive from the Confederation Bridge and 25 minutes from downtown Charlottetown.
The house has a panoramic view of Rustico Bay and morning coffee on the deck is a great way to start any day! Local fishing boats pass by hourly and deep sea fishing is a popular activity. Stroll on the boardwalk, spend the afternoon on the beautiful sandy beach (5 min walk to supervised swimming in the National Park) or if you are more daring, jumping from the breakwater at the mouth of the harbour is a popular local activity!! Choose one of many local restaurants for dinner. Sunsets from the front deck are breathtaking!
June and September are excellent months for golf enthusiasts and the local lobster season is in full swing by mid-May!
The house offers a water view master bedroom with a queen-size bed and a second bedroom with your choice of two twin beds or one king size bed. There is a TV/familyroom on the lower level. The living room overlooks the harbour and the large eat-in kitchen is fully equipped for quick snacks or gourmet dining.
Located on the south side of the eastern tip of the Cavendish National Park, the house offers the best of PEI in any season. Enjoy the local boardwalk, which connects the harbour entrance to the village centre. A short drive takes you to Prince Edward Island's capital 'Charlottetown', the National Historic site of Green Gables or one of several world class golf courses.
If you prefer a slower pace, leave your car home and walk or ride a bike to beaches, shopping, lobster suppers, waterfront cafes, kayak rentals. Experience the true joy of coastal living in one of PEI's most popular vacation areas.
The house is decorated in colors inspired by the sea and offers everything to make your vacation a fond memory. The large front deck has a patio table and chairs.

The most perfect location in North Rustico. Close to everything - shops, restaurants and beach via the boardwalk. Loved being able to walk to Doiron’s fish market for the freshest catch and cook up dinner in the well appointed kitchen. Amazing view for morning coffee and evening drinks. Incredibly convenient central spot for day trips all across the Island. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back! Thanks so much to our hosts!

Proximity to many beaches such as Cavendish. We enjoyed the kayak tour located just down the street. So much to see and do in this area. Highly recommend.

Awesome location! Just across the street from a boardwalk that goes along the water to the harbor and restaurants. A beach is just a short hike from the boardwalk

Had a great time; the house was well-kept and had all the necessary amenities. Beds were comfortable, and the front porch was great to take the view in from. Had mini-splits for AC, but they were never needed - there was a great breeze off the harbor every night and most days. 5-10 minute walk to town; 5 minute bike ride to town, the beach, or the restaurants out by the channel entrance. 10/10!

The property had an amazing view over the estuary and sand bars. It was wonderful to sit on the front terrace and watch the water and the fishing boats coming and going.
The house was well equipped, spacious and clean. We especially appreciated the air conditioner during the heat dome.
The local facilities were of good quality and within walking distance.
The board walk was a great, safe way to get to either end of the road.
The local people were very friendly and helpful.
Altogether, it was a fantastic place to be after our city tour.

Unfortunately, our vacation rental had some ups and downs, but we tried to focus on the positive results from staying at this rental.
Positives:
-- View from front deck was INCREDIBLE!
-- Patio set on front deck was new and comfortable (would have been nice if the caretaker had inserted the umbrella in the patio table--we had to search for it and install it ourselves).
-- Location in North Rustico was so convenient since we traveled all over the island and used this rental as our home base.
-- Bathroom (only one) seemed newly renovated, but owner should install a handrail for safety.
-- Kitchen appliances worked well, but owner should update the coffee maker since it's quite old and coffee tasted bitter.
-- Beds were comfortable.
-- Plenty of books available in case you forget to bring one!
-- Easy parking.
Negatives:
-- TV remote had dead batteries, so we had to contact the caretaker to replace them (should have been checked BEFORE we arrived).
-- One of the portable A/C units didn't work, so caretaker had to fix it after "consulting" with the owner (should have been checked BEFORE we arrived).
-- Only one window in each bedroom opened, so we didn't get to experience the ocean breezes (the living room window didn't open). To combat the heat, we tried running both A/C units, but our bedrooms were too warm because those units only cooled the living room and kitchen.
-- Beach chairs provided were HORRIBLE! Old and dirty, just nasty! Grill, too.
-- Will not rent here again.

Nice house with a front deck and beautiful view. Everything needed was in the house. Including air conditioning full kitchen and laundry. Close to town and some good restaurants. Lucy M Montgomery heritage sites were a short drive. Also the PEI National Park was right around the corner with beaches shoreline and sunsets.

We really enjoyed our visit. The house is excellent, as is the little town & shops. We would definitely come back.

Location is beautiful overlooking the harbour. House is spacious, has all you need for cooking and relaxing. Beach house decorations. The lock box for the key would not open, thankfully the caretaker had left the door open for us. Garner came by and he couldn't get lockbox open either. Other than that, would highly recommend Whitesails for a PEI holiday. National Park is just a 10 minute walk to North Rustico beach.

My wife and I stayed a week at this Vrbo in North Rustico and would highly recommend it to a couple or a family of four. This is a small home with two bedrooms with ample space and everything in the kitchen you need to have an enjoyable vacation. The Owner (Alan) was very pleasant and responsive to our one request and even dropped by one afternoon mid week for a short visit to ensure we were happy.
Mid May is a low period for tourists in PEI so many attractions and shops were not open for the 2023 season. Nevertheless this location is very central for visiting many of the main beach areas along the PEI North Shore and a Free Pass is provided for entrance to the National Park. It is also only about a 30 minute drive from the main City of Charlottetown which has many things to do and see.
North Rustico is a fishing village and every morning the boats would go out early and later return with their catch. There are several nice places to eat in the area but some were still closed however, we did have a delicious meal at the Blue Mussel Café which is simply decorated and has a very friendly and efficient staff the service was excellent.

We loved the Whitesails cottage, especially the incredible view! Walking the boardwalk to North Rustico beach was great, and even though the mid-May weather was somewhat changeable, we had a great time. Loved the whole North Rustico area!

We hit the end of the season so very little was open in North Rustico but we really enjoyed the great walking paths near the cottage.

We ended up staying for Fiona (hurricane). The location of the home made the stay much safer, there was no damage to the home. We lost power and Allan was quick to assist. He offered coffee and gave us a generator to use as well as a 3 burner outdoor stove. The view was wonderful! Location was awesome . Unfortunately we did not get to partake in any of the restaurant offerings as the Island didn't have power after our first 30 hours there. It is everything that is stated in the listing. Would not hesitate to stay here again should we come back to PEI.

We were two sisters traveling. so we each had our own room. The cottage is very well maintained and decorated. We visited many areas in PEI and this location was perfect. Blue Mussels and On the Bay were two restaurants down the road. Plan to wait about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. for Blue Mussels, but excellent food. Easier to get into On the Bay.
Allan is a wonderful host and responded to every single question we had. Recommended restaurants, etc. The beach pass was a plus.
Google Maps don't work, use a map. We visited Brackley, Greenwich and Basin Head Beaches. A favorite was the Prim Point Lighthouse and restaurant on the water.
Would stay again!

Beautiful, expansive bay view, light, airy home, spotlessly clean. A wonderful space on a magical island. Bring your binoculars to watch the fishing boats sailing by from the spacious deck. Perfection!

Grandpa’s house PEI
Perfect location for a few days with our grandchildren. We could walk safely to the beach or village on the boardwalk.
Our hosts were available if we needed anything..
The front porch was the perfect location for watching the activities of the fishing fleet and the best seat for the Canada Day fireworks..

Relaxing
White Sails was just the place for us to stay to enjoy some relaxing days! To sit on the front porch and watch the fishing boats come in the bay and spot some eagles soaring by! Behind was a short walk to the beach with beautiful sunsets. Also loved our dinners at the Blue Mussel Cafe!

Charming Coastal Home
Had a wonderful stay & enjoyed watching the boats come in. Very clean and decorated beautifully. We had a wonderful time. Had an amazing meal at the local Blue Mussel Cafe. Only items I might suggest are to bring your own toilet tissue and lobster utensils as we couldn't find either of those in storage there.

Great Stay at Allan & Carol Ann's house in North Rustico
My Husband and I stayed for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The large front deck and the view was fabulous. The location in the fishing village of North Rustico was great. You could walk to the grocery store, restaurants and get anything you needed in the village. It is also a great location for day trips to see the countryside and, had the weather been better, there is a great beach right next to the harbour and short drives to other wonderful beaches.
Allan stopped by shortly after to arrived and gave us tips on restaurants, places to see and where to get the best deals on seafood.
Overall a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay there again

Wonderful staycation
We loved the accommodations and it was very private. It truly is a Million Dollar View. The location is perfect as short distance to Cavendish, Brackley, Summerside and Charlottetown. North Rustico is truly a hidden gem and we felt very safe there. Lots of great restaurants and beaches and many craft shops to explore. The owners of this property were very easy to contact and were always quick to respond to our requests. There Property was well stocked to begin our holiday. The wine, basket of goodies and Beach Pass was an appreciated gift. We highly recommend this rental and plan to return.

Beautiful Cottage in North Rustico, PEI
We had a wonderful stay in Prince Edward Island. The cottage is very well maintained and the location is perfect to reach many different places in PEI. Allan is a wonderful host and responded to every single question we had. The view from the living room and the bedroom is beautiful. The beach is just a couple of minutes' walk away, however, if you want to go to Cavendish beach, you can bike, walk or drive, it is very very close. We highly recommend the cottage to anyone visiting PEI. Thank you!

Great location, views and near all amenities.
We loved our stay at this cottage. The deck area was fantastic for gathering to eat our meals, enjoy morning coffees or watching the birds and wildlife. It is protected from wind and sunny all day. Fun to watch the boats come in and out. The cottage is a short walk to a lovely beach and the nearby restaurants, fish market and stores. We had everything we needed in the cottage and the pantry was stocked with spices. North Rustico is an prime location in PEI, next door to the national park and close to Cavendish. Allan, our host, was nearby and available if needed. We will definitely return!

Great Family Place
This house is a well maintained basic bungalow in a beautiful location. The house came very well equipped with plenty of kitchen utensils, major appliances and even bicycles to be used. It`s an easy walk to a fairly unpopulated beach, a pedestrian boardwalk and a nearby fish market. The friendly owners live very nearby, paid us a quick complimentary visit and responded instantly when I had a question pre-arrival. All in all, I certainly DO recommend this property.
