About this house rental
Our preferred guests are families- we are NOT a party house! Multi-generational familiy- grandparents, children, and grandkids are great! Our allegiance is to our neighbors. We are very cognizant of our peaceful neighborhood ambiance (that's why we bought it and love it!) and respectful of our neighbors. Please note our House Rules with regard to this.
FYI- we are very qualified to achieve "Premier Partner" with VRBO, except for one thing: they will not grant this designation because we will not accept Instant Booking. We won't do this, as we want control over who rents our home.
We accept a maximum of 8 adults and 4 children in "The Kids' Bunkbed Room" for a total of 12.
Our general rule is to ask for a 4-night stay. However, there are two weeks in the year we ask for a 6-night stay. Those weeks surround New Years and 4th of July. These are by far the most popular times of the year.
This elegant mountain retreat is located on the colorful and traditional West Shore, near Tahoe City, in the serene Talmont area, with membership to the private homeowners Tahoe Park Beach Club. The idyllic setting offers tranquility and privacy, but as our home is only 2.5 miles west of Tahoe City, you will also appreciate the shopping and dining convenience it affords.
Surrounded by multiple forested conservancy lots on three sides, this welcoming 2500+ square foot home offers privacy, a filtered peek of the lake, and an expansive treetop view. It is very tastefully decorated, and fully and thoughtfully equipped, assuring your vacation relaxation.
Our home is lovingly furnished with comfort and quality in mind. We regard it as our beloved second home, as opposed to a rental income property! We gladly open our home to others and appreciate the fact that our guests will show it the same respect that we do.
We have furnished our mountain retreat with cherished antiques, family heirlooms, and warm hand-made and custom-made furniture, along with new beds and linens.
We offer 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and a fold-out Queen-size sofa. Our home boasts knotty pine cathedral ceilings, knotty pine custom cabinets and trim throughout, and granite kitchen with new appliances, granite bath counters, along with wood and slate flooring throughout.
The entry is showcased by a wide staircase accented with hand-carved pine railings, leading up or down to either of the two living areas.
Upstairs, the open living/dining/kitchen area is airy and expansive, featuring two decks, overlooking the forest. The large, leather sectional is flanked by club chairs, providing a comfortable sitting area.
We have just installed brand new kitchen appliances and a washer and dryer.
You’ll enjoy a flat-screen, HD TV, which is highly maneuverable to allow for the utmost viewing options and has a Blue Ray DVD player. Unlimited free high-speed Internet access is provided.
The upper floor hosts the spacious and luxurious master bedroom featuring a Californian King bed and master bathroom, with a large Jacuzzi soaking tub and separate enclosed glass shower. A half bath is located off the living area and a charming ceiling fan provides a gentle, refreshing breeze on summer evenings.
Downstairs, the family room is a perfect gathering area for youngsters– young and old–a leather sectional faces a large TV, with DVD, and VCR. Leading off the family room are three bedrooms and one full bath: one bedroom features a queen bed, another has a *triple full-size bunk bed, with full-size trundle (this room can sleep a MAX of six small children- UP TO 175 lbs each level) the other bedroom has two twin beds, with and an antique desk. In addition, the sectional in the downstairs living area holds a queen-size foldout bed.
You’ll love our private beach club 1 mile down the road! Charming Tahoe Park is one of the most popular beaches on the lake, offering over three acres of beachfront living. It boasts a lovely beach, little nooks sheltering private sitting and dining areas, grass areas surrounded by gardens and shaded by towering pines, BBQs with tables and benches, piers, kayak access, shuffleboard, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball, bocce ball court, a children’s playground and restrooms. Relax in privacy and enjoy a lakefront BBQ! Google their website for photos and more info- 'Lake Tahoe Park Association'.
Next door to Tahoe Park Beach, sip cocktails on the lakeside deck of festive Sunnyside Resort, while watching the sunset over the lake and boaters pull in after a day on the lake. You’ll savor the breakfasts at the nearby Firesign Café.
Paige Meadows, with its huge network of superb hiking, walking and biking trails, is only steps away from our mountain home. Lake Tahoe is renowned for its natural beauty and numerous outdoor activities including river rafting, extensive hiking and biking (on both paved and dirt paths), fishing, swimming, boating, and all manner of water sports.
Best of all is just relaxing on the beach or reading a good book while lounging on our decks, enjoying the pine-scented mountain air!
Our kitchen is very well-equipped; the dining table expands to seat eight with additional seating for three at the kitchen island. You’ll enjoy a gas Webber BBQ, clothes washer and dryer, and garage parking for one car. Additional outdoor parking is also available.
We welcome you to our tree-top mountain home!

What a wonderful week we spent at this beautiful home. The setting is lovely and the private beach is fantastic. We were there with our family and there was space for everyone. The kitchen is very well equipped. The owner, Janine, is extremely responsive to any questions at the house. For example, when I asked her about a large roasting pan to cook a turkey, she ordered an electric roaster for us to use. I highly recommend this property and we hope to return again.

We've been renting in the Talmont/ Sunnyside area for over 10 years and this home fits the bill! Very private, had everything organized and easy to find (utencils, etc.). Well-priced and simple to communicate with the owners with any questions! Loved the cabin feel, cozy and spacious. Lower level perfect for teens and additional family. Had mroe than enough extras like beach chairs, crawdad traps, fans. Love it!

Annually my family shares the New Year with my brother in-law and his family. This was a wonderful home and the host was extremely gracious. She communicated well and the home was as advertised.
Great host and great home. Thank you.

We are a family of 5 and had two additional guests with us. This was the perfect spot. Plenty of room and a very spacious common space for all of us to enjoy. Location is great. Easy drive into Tahoe City for shopping and groceries. Janine is a great host. She was very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall, the cabin was a great experience. It was as advertised. It really can sleep a large group. The kitchen is also well equipped with pots, pans, etc. All the appliances work well. It is also close to many conveniences and Lake Tahoe. The HOA private beach that you can access is really nice.

We had a wonderful 4th of July at the home! Loved the beach access and close proximity to hikes, restaurants and more! House worked perfectly- we grilled many nights and family and friends.

Host was easy to work with, very accommodating. Our only complaint was getting inside the house was difficult, we were supposed to have 2 remotes to garage which we couldn’t find and the extra door key didn’t work. Also bed mattresses need to be replaced. And the kitchen isn’t stocked with all your needs make sure you bring what you need to cook with. We loved the house and all the property. Beautiful place.

The property was really nice. Had a good time on the lake. Spent most of our time out rather then in.

Beautiful house and close to the lake.
We really enjoyed the private beach area.
The only change we would add is newer patio furniture.
We had a wonderful weekend.

The house was AMAZING! The area was quiet, the kids were able to enjoy the snow.

Thank you for the nice stay. The home setup was nice for two families with small children with two kids rooms and two master suites. Location was perfect for us near a home of some other friends. There are some maintenance issues that would make this place even better, mainly the appliances and televisions. The fridge light was out and needs to be replaced. The dishwasher has a broken tray and latch and looks to be 20 years old. The downstairs tv is in a great place for the little kids to hang at but the TV is from 20 years ago as well with only a vhs player and a DVD player that I couldn't find a working remote for...plus we didn't bring kids DVDs (or VHS tapes..haha). Upstairs tv setup was pretty poor as well. Apple TV remote was dead so we didn't spend time replacing batteries and trying that either. Granted TV is not the reason we came to Tahoe but with little kids and snowy day downtime, it can be a necessity. Anyways, no trip altering complaints but for expensive beautifully advertised vacation homes, we generally hope for top line amenities/appliances.

we had an amazing experience at this cabin from check in through the time we left. Janine is an absolute gem and was very cordial from the time we booked to letting us have late departure. The private beach access is a great plus, we’ll definitely be back in the summer to take advantage!

We loved the house. But a recent storm left 5’ of snow on decks and stairs. The key pad to open the garage did not work and it was really difficult to walk up the stairs laden with snow to reach the key lock box. In the future I would suggest having snow removed prior to guest arrival. One other issue was lack of closet in the master bedroom. It would help to have a stand for clothes in the room plus a chair and a bench at the end of bed to put blankets not needed rather than putting on floor.

This is a great cabin in a lovely neighborhood. Has great views & overall very cozy. We had an issue checking in and there was a miscommunication with when we were arriving. The house was not cleaned when we got there. Luckily Janine & Chuck were able to get the cleaning crew to arrive quickly to clean up for us. Overall great house just could use some updates like a new Apple TV (it’s quite old, Netflix or Hulu doesn’t even work) and the fireplace is a bit hard to figure out. We still really enjoyed our stay.

We had rented this home to be close to the venue for my sons wedding at Westshore Cafe. While we also have a lakefront home on the east shore of Tahoe, it was too far from the festivities to be convenient for us. This home was immaculate, spacious, decorated with an abundance of Tahoe Charm. It was perfect for my daughter and her husband and two young children, myself and my husband and our preteen granddaughter, a close family friend and my adult son. We all had our privacy but plenty of room for gathering as well!.
It will not disappoint anyone who stays!

Really great house that accommodates a large family or a couple families. Unfortunately we couldn’t really enjoy the home or all that Tahoe offers because of the smoke from the Cali fires. Will visit another time of year.

Great place for our family of 6 adults and 4 children ages 7-9. Everything we needed was available—paper goods, soap, detergents, all the small kitchen appliances. Nicely furnished house. Good mountain biking trails near-by. Excellent communication with owner with prompt response to questions. Private beach approx 2 mile drive. Clean but rather rocky beach area with lots of picnic tables, volleyball, basketball, bocce ball and all equipment available. Small playground for kids. Great family vacation spot.

Great home. We cooked all our meals so the BBQ and all the cookware was nice. It’s in a great location. Short drive to multiple beaches and the main Tahoe City street. The drive way is a bit steep but we just parked on the road. We had a large SUV and van. It held two families and we had more then enough space. It was a great home for our trip.

Nice quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle of the lake
Beautiful, spacious home with open spaces that accommodate a large group comfortably

The private beach resort made the trip. Great location near rafting and zip lining! Great layout of house for 2 families

We loved our stay. The home is perfect for two families with kids. Plenary of space for everyone including multiple living spaces so kids and adults could both have the room necessary to be comfortable. The location is also great. Just a few minutes outside of Tahoe City and an even shorter drive to a private beach that is accessible through the homeowners HOA and also has a playground, basketball, volleyball, and bocci ball courts. We brought a standup paddle board and enjoyed hanging out at the HOA beach everyday.
Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.

The property was everything our group hoped for. Plenty of space for a group of 8. Awesome location, especially if you’re skiing at homewood in the winter. Would definitely stay there again!

Nice place, accurate description in listing. This is a quiet location and it was nice to have hiking trails right at the end of the block. The place was not ready when we got there but the owner was very responsive and got the cleaners there right away. The kids enjoyed building forts with stray sticks in the backyard.

Good place to stay with family & friends. Minutes to downtown Tahoe City.

The property is lovely and convenient located near so many Tahoe amenities. The access to the private beach club was fantastic and really made the whole vacation worth it. The home is comfortable and well appointed. We had 20-month old twins who could navigate the stairs, but if you have children younger than this who don't do well with stairs this would not be the place for you. Overall I would recommend this property.

Very happy with this rental. Spacious and gracious, with wonderful front and back decks for enjoying sun or shade any time of the day. Well equipped kitchen. Close to hiking trails right off of the neighboring street and easy drive to lake or Tahoe City. Not a good match if you have trouble with stairs; the main living area is 2 full flights up from the garage, which is itself situtated above street level.

Terrific home! Loved staying here. Will return.
