The Loft was a great place to stay, come, and go!
It's not fancy here but this isn't what we came for. This is a low-key place where you can be comfortable, move around in different rooms, make some easy food or reheat your leftovers from the town, sit and relax without being on top of each other. We didn't use the W/D or cook a meal, but it was great for sleeping in, toasting a bagel, drinking coffee, then getting on your way. We ventured around town and came back for mini rests before the next event - this place is perfect for such.
The owner Susie is sweet - we met her at Cafe Max. Cafe Max was our favorite meal, apart from Papa's Pan Pizza. Nothing bad to say about the other restaurants but these were our favorites.
The apartment has great access to Main St. and the fun, eclectic stores. Parking was very easy. Unlike other guests, we were here for the Lake Festival and Culver Homecoming but we never heard noise from below.
There is a historic, downtown, charm while staying here. There are indeed steep stairs to get to the apartments but for us, this was part of the charm!
The apartment was clean, comfortable, and functional. We'd stay here again, for sure! Thanks Susie!

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and it’s in a great location. Just keep in mind you will hear early morning noises like pots and pans banging from Max’s Cafe kitchen below.

Property was as advertised. Could use some attention on kitchen equipment and utensils.
It was very clean and close to lake trails.

Susie was a fantastic host and even helped us out when we needed to make a last minute change and stay an extra night!

Nice place in a good location. Windows have opaque coverings on them so you can't see out them, but the place is still quite bright and cheery. In spite of being over businesses, it was very quiet. There are two electric vehicle chargers (free) across the street from the building, which we happily used. Stairs up to the apartment are pretty steep, so if you have bad knees, this might be an issue for you. Would stay here again.

We loved staying at The Loft in Culver. Very nice apartment, cozy and comfortable. Fantastic location since one of our number one things to do when we go to Culver is to eat at Cafe Max!! Will definitely stay there again!!

Wow, perfect!
This was an ideal place to stay and my two kids and I loved it! Cafe Max is sooooo good and obviously so convenient. Plus the awesome host, though crazy busy, went out of her way to help us deal with lost luggage and other nuttiness. The only tiny thing I'd mention is that we couldn't tell from the listing or confirmation email if we were staying in the back apartment or the other one. Took us a little longer to navigate our way in after a long drive late at night. But otherwise, perfect in every way and so grateful for Susie's many kindnesses.

Great location. Need to be able to handle a long flight of stairs to arrive at your room.
Once you arrive it works.

Very clean property
The stairway and hallway leading to this apartment were not very inviting. However, once you entered the apartment, it was very clean, comfortable furniture, nice washer and dryer. The only complaint I have is that there was no toaster or butter knives. Also I felt that some of the artwork hanging in the apartment was not appropriate for a rental unit.

Mother/daughter getaway
This property has a great location. We were right downtown by all the cute shops but also within walking distance to the beach. Even though it's directly above Max's, we never heard the cafe from the apartment. It is very clean, and for things that are missing(like coffee filters), there's a CVS right around the corner. The lights in the stairwell didn't work which made our late arrival a little interesting. Thank goodness for cellphone flashlights! My teenage daughter didn't appreciate some of the nudes that were hanging on the walls. We just took them down for our stay and hung them back up before we left. Having a dryer turned out to be very nice. We could toss our wet towels in and be beach ready again for the next day! Everything in Culver closes early during the week, so having a smart TV was great. We were able to watch some movies together in the evenings.

Perfect place for m visit, very clean.
First it was tricky to find the entrance to the apartment. I popped in to Cafe Max, the owner was there and was very helpful.
Very clean. No surprises. The only thing I needed and they didn’t have in the kitchen was a cutting board. Great location too!

Great stay, location and price
Needed a place on short notice while we visited our son in Culver. Hate driving 20 minutes each way to Plymouth. This apt was a great solution. Susie has taken the upstairs of this old historic building and created a couple of apartments. It took us a sec to find which one was ours (there are two), but we figured it out. The apt we stayed in was immaculate, nicely furnished and super comfortable. There's a lovely bedroom with a super comfortable queen bed (and great pillows!). The living room is spacious with a nice sofa, matching swivel armchairs and a cute little tv with cable in case you want to relax and watch a little. The adjoining bath is roomy and spotless. The adjoining kitchen is roomy enough to allow a table for breakfast and what not. Spotless, also. There is also a separate laundry room with washer and dryer - a nice bonus if you needed it (we didn't). In the laundry room are TWO rollaway beds, in case you needed them for a guest or child. The central AC was AWESOME, btw.
The location is great - right above all the action in downtown Culver: the wonderful Cafe Max restaurant (Susie is the owner) and across/next to great boutiques and shopping, and a block or so from the lake, and 3 minutes to the Academy.
Those with physical limitations be aware: There is a long 22 step flight of stairs from the street up to the hallway to the apts. This is an old historic building. If you like old buildings, you'll like this one. The floors squeak a bit. The doors and moldings in the hallway are original, and oooze charm. The hallway is a little dark, but don't be put off. This is a SUPER, spotless renovated apt in a great location!

Functional and Convenient
As we were visiting relatives, we only used this property as a place to sleep. We didn’t use the kitchen appliances or the washer/dryer but they looked rather new and I’m sure the worked well. The bed was super comfortable and the a/c was great. I would stay here again and hope that the front stairs and the long hallway would be better lighted.

Cafe Max apartment for long July 4th weekend
The apartment is located about 23 stairs above the ground floor and our check-in was a little confusing as to where to pick up our key and the exact location of our reserved apartment on the upstairs floor. Several people were very helpful getting the key for us and then leading us to the correct apartment. It was nicely furnished and the bed was fresh and clean. The kitchen had adequate dish ware and utensils. We did not need to do much cooking, mainly just breakfast and sometimes lunch. For us the best things about our stay was that it was quiet and we were close to Culver downtown activities, the lakeshore and Culver Academy—all places that were high priority for us during this visit.

Great location. Art was not for me.
The art in the apartment was less than appealing. I actually found the 3 pictures of naked women offensive. Other than that, the apartment was clean on the inside. The location was great. I would stay there again but would bring something to cover up the pictures
