Beautiful, traditional Cape Cod home with new additions and upgrades, on a wooded 1/2-acre lot (6 Bay View Road) a block from Nantucket Sound, near scenic Wychmere Harbor and Wychmere Harbor Club. Nearby attractions include historic Cape rail trail and 2 town golf courses. Boat to Nantucket is just a half mile away, as are Saquatucket and Allen Harbors with abundant sailing and fishing.

We have stayed at the home twice. The location just doesn’t get any better - walking distance to both Main Street and the beach. Bank Street beach is one of the best beaches in the area. Large, deep beach, well maintained and tolerable seaweed (it’s the Cape! Seaweed exists!). Lots of excellent restaurants and shops in the area. Perfect for morning walks around the neighborhood. The street itself is refreshingly quiet.
As for the house - it’s large and updated. Great kitchen. Even better porch - huge. There is no soft seating outdoors but we brought some comfortable chairs. Fantastic master suite for the primary guests with a sitting room and private bath. The other bedrooms and baths are great as well. Various sizes and configurations to accommodate all types. Lots of sitting areas throughout. We really liked the upstairs bean bag nook for bedtime stories.
Highly recommend and plan to stay again.

The house is so big. The little ones had fun playing hide and seek! The location to the beach was great. Main Street was a quick walk to restaurants, shopping, ice cream shop. Cons are could use bigger garbage totes and cleaning service could do better. But overall, this property is a great choice. Owners were fabulous when I had to contact them. Took care of minor issues immediately. I really appreciated that. Our family loved our week there.

We enjoyed a wonderful week in Harwichport. Super convenient location to walk to the beach or to town. Enjoyed many family meals on the beautiful screen porch. Plenty of space to gather together or have some quiet time and spread out. We absolutely love this house! Thanks for sharing it with us!

The rustic, authentic charm of this Cape-style home really won my family over. As is the case with a classic Cape stay, you must bring your own linens and towels. Since we were only in town for a wedding weekend, it would have been easier just to have linens supplied. But the best part of this house is the rabbit warren of rooms and bedrooms...my brother and his wife only discovered a second living room on day 2 of his stay since they were staying in another part of the house. LOL. Cape houses like this one were meant to be a summer house and this one is ideally suited for that - lots of places to sleep and plenty of common areas for rainy days. It did work well for the wedding weekend because of the walkable access to the Wychmere Harbor Club.
As we were visiting in the off-season, there was an issue with the water in one bathroom which had been accidently turned off for the winter, but Jan and the relator took care of it immediately. They are so focused on making sure you have a good experience. Really great!

The rental process was easy...access to beach was tricky with small children. Bathrooms were good, ALL furniture needs to be replaced! Very musty coming in. Whatever owner is paying cleaning service is too much! Needs an exterminator also!. Enjoyed our time at the Cape, but would look for other accommodations next time!

We enjoyed our two weeks by the ocean in this house. The location is fantastic – only a short walk to Bank St. Beach in one direction, and a short walk to the shops in Harwich Port in the other direction. The property itself is huge, with a large tree yard and a very large screened porch that was excellent for family dinners. Indeed, the screened-in porch was a real highlight of our stay, allowing everybody to gather outside for a meal unbothered by insects. The house itself is very large, as noted by other reviewers, with lots of room for an extended family to spread out and plenty of washrooms. The owners were great to deal with, very quick on replies to emails and very friendly. We would definitely recommend this property to families gathering for a reunion on the Cape. Excellent Cape house in an awesome location
We had a large group visiting for a friends wedding and this property was perfect for us. We decided to make it a long weekend and the location could not have been better. We were able to walk to the beach, the wedding venue at Wychmere, to shops and restaurants, and it was a short drive to anything else you would need. Highly recommended staying at this property.

Fun charming house in a great location
Rented for a week in August, and were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived. This house is very spacious, and fun to explore - lots of different rooms and areas to spread out in. This home is truly an old school cape cod experience - lots of original artifacts, kitchen items etc. Needs some TLC in terms of things like blinds not working well, needs new bed covers, tumble dryer knob broken, is not as well maintained as other rentals we have had. However these details did not bother us, overall in terms of value and location, it was an excellent choice for our group. Very quiet road, short walk to beach and town, and plenty of space for everyone. We loved it.

Older home w period furniture and furnishings. Location was A+ to a great beach and town.WIFI struggled on occasion and TV/cable only received 8-10 stations. House was tidy but not what we would consider clean upon arrival.Screen porch had not been cleaned from prior renters. Flimsy seating in a room that we spent most of our time. Large yard but also had garbage/broken beach chairs/chairs from screen room and unkempt yard (needed mowing) and outdoor shower was dirty.Small ants were in multiple areas of the kitchen throughout our week.House needs larger outdoor garbage cans for larger groups.

Great home and yard to share with multi-generations
There is plenty of room inside and out in this home that the grandkids called "the maze house." They loved the fact that they could use different stairways and hallways to reach the bedrooms upstairs. They also had fun playing soccer in the spacious yard. The adults loved the screened in porch, proximity to the beach and wedding venue (the reason we were on the Cape), as well as the convenience of local grocery stores.
I would advise bringing your own blankets and pillows even though they are provided. They all looked over-used and stained. I also felt the entire place could have been cleaner. The wood floors were dusty when we arrived and slip covers on furniture were stained.
Having said that, Harwich Port is a lovely town and I would spend more time there.

Family Wedding at the Wychmere
Our extended family gathered in Harwich Port for my son's wedding. This house was perfect for a large gathering. We hosted several family dinners with space to seat about 16 or 18. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything imaginable needed for cooking and dining. The home is very spacious, charming and well appointed. With several very comfortable sitting rooms, we could spread out, for quiet conversation or games and reading, yet never feel crowded.
Having 5 bathrooms was such a luxury, especially when everyone was getting ready for the wedding at once!
One nice advantage to this home's location is the walking distance to the village and beach.
The owners are very easy to work with and quick to respond to any inquires. The description and pictures of this house fall short in showing it's spaciousness and charm. It feels like home! We could not have found a more perfect place to stay.

Home away from home!
When our daughter and fiance chose Wychmere as their wedding venue, we immediately went on the hunt to find accommodations for our family and friends who would be traveling to Cape Cod. When we found this listing, and discovered how close it was to the venue, we were thrilled. Arriving on Labor Day, we were pleased to find a comfortable place to share meals and family time within walking distance of the venue...and the beach! We spent the entire week in the house, which features lots of bedrooms, bathrooms and gathering spaces including our favorite, the screened in porch. We spend a lot of time out there. On "non-beachy" days, there are lots of games and books to choose from to entertain the group, as well as a ping pong table in the finished basement. I highly recommend this home for those seeking to vacation with family and extended family. It's comfortable and "lived in" charm made for an enjoyable stay.

We spent the past weekend at this lovely home. It is perfect for wedding central. Spacious, comfortable, well-stocked kitchen, a room for everyone. The family who owns this home is lovely to work with. I highly recommend renting this home! It is our first experience with VRBO, and we will certainly use this site again.

House is beautiful with a great blend of the old and new. We needed a larger place to serve as wedding headquarters for our daughters big day. There was plenty of room for a large bridal party to prepare for the event. Grounds were well groomed and the property was fantastic for pre-ceremony photos. Ample places to sleep for people coming and going. We got there a couple days early and enjoyed the convenience to the beach and Harwichport Village shops and eateries. Thank you to the owners for your hospitality. We would rent again should the situation arise. We would also recommend this home for others to rent.

Family Reunion
We thoroughly enjoyed this lovely home. It was the perfect spot to stay for our big family wedding/reunion. Its large rooms and multiple bathrooms were comfortable, clean and dry. We loved the short walk to the beach and the fact that it was only minutes from the center of town and our wedding venue. The owners were very friendly and quick to answer questions. We all had a wonderful visit.
