We loved staying here. It was such a beautiful and comfortable home. Great location with views everywhere. Further from town but worth the drive to get the great mountain scenery!

Cute house in great location
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was clean with a well stocked kitchen for making meals. The kids in our group loved exploring the different nooks and crannies of the home.
Our only suggestion would be to rethink how this property is advertised for 12 people. The dining table seats 10 at best and having only 2 bathrooms (one within the master bedroom and the other off of the main living area without a functioning lock) makes the space feel a bit cramped. We were a group of 3 different families, so having a bit more separation would have been nice. Having a property description that relays this information would have been helpful.
Overall, we really enjoyed the property and made the layout work.

Hiking trip
This property had a great location and was a great place to hang out after a day of hiking. Hot tub was a great way to end the day as well. The only thing I would say is having more than 2-3 people wouldn’t be great. There are two very small bathrooms and the hot tub could not hold more than 3 at most, but better with just 2. Since it was just the two of us, it was perfect but there are enough beds/sleeping areas for an additional 6 people, which would not be ideal with the limited bathroom space. Other than that, this was a great place to stay!

Beautiful Location
The location is beautiful. It's far enough from the city to give you a peaceful setting to unwind, but close enough to enjoy the convenience of the city.
There seems to be a lot of rules, but it's all straightforward and we had no issues following them. The house itself had some minor cosmetic issues, but nevertheless it was still a great time.

Family fishing trip
The kitchen is tiny and ill equipped. Although the cabin can sleep as many as 12 there is no gathering room where more than 4 can sit comfortably. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the heat and the directions didn't tell you. The master bath sink was clogged when we're got there. They supply one towel per person that they apparently picked up at the dollar store. We were cold every night and the furnishings were uncomfortable. The only thing to recommend it is the location. And for all this they expect you to wash the towels, take out the trash and run the dishwasher before you leave. Never again.

Very cozy!
We enjoyed our stay at Castle Rock. The house is fairly secluded with only trees and cliffs in your back yard looking our from the back porch and hot tub. Super close to Purgatory and nice to have Needles convenient store so close. We loved the super sized bean bags!

Castle Rock
A storm came in our first day and we had a problem with our chains, making the trek up to the house impossible. Quickly got new chains and made it ok. The house is very nice and fully stocked. The surroundings are incredible! Had a blast playing in the snow around the property and relaxing in the hot tub after skiing.

Perfect home for getting away.
This home is perfect if you'd like to get away from the city, settle in the Aspen trees, and watch a herd of elk every evening. Home is warm, clean, and fits several people. We frequent this part of Colorado and are very pleased with this property. Zero complaints.

Beautiful!
What a peaceful getaway! My husband and I loved the home. We made good use of the dog friendly space and hot tub. It was a beautiful relaxing vacation! We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Location
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The home is in a private area and we appreciated the porch and the fenced in side yard as we didn’t have to put our two small dogs on leashes to let them outside (of course we never left them alone outside). This was our first time to use VRBO and we had a wonderful vacation!

Beautiful, Cool, Quiet
This was a nice stay. The cabin is modest and comfortable. I didn't like the "shoes off" policy, but would have been fine with it if the policy was more clear from the start. The main photo is accurate, but a little misleading. We were off to other vacation time in Colorado, but my brother couldn't get his 5th wheel up the driveway, which was a total disappointment. The photo doesn't look near as steep or curved.

Purgatory Ski Trip
Great location, only 2 miles from Purgatory Ski Resort. Private location in a beautiful setting. During our trip we had a fox visit the back deck two nights in a row, wow. Great trip and location for the whole family.

Beautiful views, quiet cabin
First and foremost, 4WD or AWD is def needed in winter conditions. The driveway is steep, but not imaginably so. When we arrived, it was covered with snow. But, we made it into the driveway just fine.
The cabin itself was a lot larger than I originally expected, but that was fine! The Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, flatware, and other cooking supplies. The countertops were absolutely gorgeous, as well! The only bed we used was in the Master bedroom, and we slept comfortably on it. It's more of a Medium soft / Soft. There are a lot of windows which give natural light during the day time, and also help heat the cabin, so if you'd like to enjoy the views during your stay, make sure to open them once in a while to take a look!
I'd also like to note that Durango is actually about 30 minutes south of you. So make sure to grab your essentials, otherwise you'll have to drive 30 mins to the nearest town. There is a gas station right at the bottom which does have some essentials, and isn't too badly overpriced... but it does not have everything!
The only complaint I have is Cameras on the property. There is nothing mentioned in the listing of the property, or the Documentation that is sent to you about Cameras being on the property. It does make you feel a bit awkward, and watched.
Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at this cabin for our Honeymoon! We got to visit a few local bars, and national monument sites in that region.
Until next time!

Near purgatory.
This is a large home that can handle quite a few people. However, management only using one towel per person. Not sure what that was about since they requested we also wash a load before we left. The problem we had was mice issue. They were in the house and unfortunately I left some peanuts in my coat pocket and during the night a mouse ate a hole in my jacket. We had to keep everything inside the oven, microwave or refrigerator in fear of mice eating more. They also tried to eat my bananas first night but didn’t seem to like them after a couple of bites. 😁

Beautiful home!
This Is a beautiful home. Very clean property. When I needed to speak with the property manager, she picked up the phone. There were no automated messages or me having to leave a message. This was a very enjoyable stay for our entire family! The grandkids loved the loft! The only thing that I feel the property managers could improve on is that the cleaning list (they called it checkout procedures)that was sent for us to do on the day of our departure should of been taken care of by the cleaning crew. The cleaning list was not sent till we had paid the rent in full, I do feel this should be mentioned in the online listing, since we paid a cleaning charge.

Loved the location, close to Durango and even closer to Purgatory. Secluded enough from neighbors and surrounded by trees, just beautiful. The cabin was very clean, perfect size for our little family reunion. It had everything we needed! Would definitely come back.

Amazing
This was one of the most unique VRBO homes we have stayed in! It was one of our favorites and we have stayed in many. It’s nestled among the aspens & pines of the National forest & private. It’s about 20 miles from Durango but if you are visiting Silverton & Ouray, it’s closer in to these towns. The home is very comfortable & my family of 4 were able to spread out & enjoy it. We hope to stay here again one day!

Guerrero family
The property is absolutely beautiful. It had everything our large family required, clean, spacious, and comfortable. The property is secluded away from the other units and is so peaceful in the evening relaxing in the hot tub. As an added bonus, the property is located within a 1/2 mile of the Needles convenience center and the Old school house restaurant , a friendly little bar with amazing pizza and wings. We would definitely stay again.

Summary tells all
When you pay in full you get a whole new set of rules on how your stay is suppose to go.( crazy ones but we did them, no shoes are to be worn in the house leave them outisde,no scratches on hardwood, suitcases on wheels need to be carried(incase of scratching the floor)etc. Apon entering the house it smelled of weed, upstairs was horrible my son had a headache the whole time there. I did report it, and she assured me it wasnt and they can't fix the smell. The master bedroom smelled of old perfume when we would return to the house after being gone all day. My best advice is to leave all windows open at all times to help with the weed smell and I'm assuming the old perfume smell to cover up it.

Excellent property in excellent location.
The house is great and is nestled up next to the National Forest, and it's only a short drive from Purgatory Resort. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner each day. The dining room fit all of us pretty well and the sitting room with a gas fireplace was a welcome place to spend he unexpectedly cold late May mornings.
The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of bedding for those that get cold at night. There are plenty of DVDs as well as satellite TV if the weather doesn't cooperate.
Overall, this was one of the best VRBO properties that I've stayed at. Thank you!

Great location, pet friendly
Comfortable cabin in a beautiful neighborhood 3 mi from Purgatory Ski Resort. AWD with chains absolutely necessary during our stay. Contact with rental company was helpful and pleasant. Cabin contained more supplies than advertised and was fully, well equipped to cook. Enjoyed the spa. Would stay again.

Stunning location, home very accomodating
Beautiful location, the views were stunning in all directions. Pay heed to the requirement for four wheel drive in the winter, the roads and driveway are steep. Home was very accomodating, loved that it has a washer/dryer.

Perfect Getaway with Family & Friends
We had a wonderful extended weekend with family and friends. The fall colors were beautiful and the home was a perfect fit. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and the kids loved the loft and tv area upstairs. Everything we needed was at the home and the space around the home was perfect to spend time outside and let the kids explore. It was nice to be out of town but we did spend a day visiting Honeyville and downtown Durango. Thank you for sharing this little gem with us!

Great home in stunning location near Purgatory
We had one of the best weekends we've had in awhile staying at this great home. A recent snow storm dusted the mountains and made for one of the most beautiful panoramas we've seen right outside the house.
We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub with snow falling lightly all around us.
Our 2 year old daughter loved the horses a neighbor had down the street.
The beds were very comfortable- we slept great.
We would defnitely stay here again!
