Hello Guests,
With the recent Hurricane Helene the Village of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure have been devastated. The Village of Chimney Rock is closed. And Lake Lure is off limits, due to the extensive clean up required to restore the Lake to its former beauty. Along with that, every person in the area has lost their jobs. So, in an effort to continuing to provide income for my housekeepers, I'm dropping the nightly rate tremendously. Check the rates and I hope it's attractive enough for you to decide to come and check out the area, as well as supporting the locals who are determined to stay and help rebuild our precious little town.
If you're unaware of the damage caused by the storm, you can check it out on Youtube, Chimney Rock NC.
There are many wonderful restaurants that are open. That even the people from outside the area come to dine.
This is a Brand New Log Home with everything Brand New. It is custom built with top quality Stainless Steel Appliances, Granite Counter Tops, and a huge deck and wrap around porch, with a Gas Grill and Picnic Table. WIFI is also provided FREE. It is furnished and decorated with an intended 'Lodge' feel that is like something like you don't typically see in this area. It has custom handmade furniture from Mexico in the bedrooms and Kitchen, with Log Beds in the guest bedrooms for that Mountain feel. The cabin also comes with the use of 2 kayaks, one 8' and one 17', and a 12' canoe. There is a 32 foot long and 8 foot wide dock. It's a beautiful cabin on one of the most beautiful coves on 'one of the most beautiful man-made lakes in the world'. ~National Geographic Magazine.

This is a NO PETS property. It is new and the floors are soft pine, and easily scratched. No Please, NO PETS. Thank you.

Many friends and former Guests have all asked, "what can we do to help?" Well, that answer is; come to the area, eat at the local restaurants, tip the heck out of the Waite staff, and go over to the Tryon International Equestrian Center where many of the Chimney Rock Merchants have set up shop to sell their merchandise. My wife and I went over there last week with 14 of our friends to Christmas shop. It was great because all of Chimney Rocks shops are now all in one location.

It's fall in the Mountains, and despite the devastation, is still beautiful.

Lake Lure is beautiful. This home had all the amenities we needed for a wonderful stay - plenty of room and very clean. We used the canoe to fish, we relaxed on the dock and in the water, we had a pool tournament in the game room, and we explored the Asheville area. Chimney Rock, Gorges State Park, DuPont Forest and Mount Mitchell did not disappoint. Thank you Bob!

House is really good for a family or group. Water toys at dock and game room in basement are a plus for this property. Driveway is a little tough getting out due to lines of sight and mattress in all three bedrooms need to be replaced.

First time to Lake Lure. The breakfast was a very nice touch. We didn't use the lower level or the canoe/kayak but enjoyed floating in the cove.

We had a wonderful time with our family at Lake Lure this past week! With all the amenities and supplies we could possibly need, Bob's place was perfect. We were able to cook meals, enjoy outdoor spaces like the deck and dock, and the game area in the basement was perfect for rainy afternoons and/or evenings. From ages 6-76, we couldn't have asked for a better place for our week together! Highly recommend.

I highly recommend this property, it is exactly what you see in the photos and description! It was the cleanest rental I have ever stayed in and that means so much to my family. We were just a hour away from home but felt like we were hours. The house had everything you needed for an excellent vacay. Bob, the host, was perfect with communication. Everytime I needed something he responded quickly. Having this first mornings breakfast ready for you was also amazing. The cabin was cozy, well stocked with coffee and other amenities. Basement had a huge playroom with pool table, ping pong and tv. The only bathroom shower that is walk in is in the basement (down multiple steps) but the other two are step overs. (No worries just be aware). House also has three kayaks and all supplies to use them. My family will definitely be renting this cabin again. Beautiful views!!!!

It would have been nice if u could have gone down stairs from inside the house. The porch needed the spiderwebs removed. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very nice and clean inside. The free breakfast was very nice. We would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely 2 week stay at Lake Lure! Bob was great to work with on our rental. The guys enjoyed a couple of canoe fishing trips & fishing off the dock. We spent a lot of time on the deck since the weather was so pleasant. All bedrooms on the main floor (street level) of the cabin as are 2 bathrooms. The third bathroom is located in the basement rec room stocked with pool table, ping pong, tv & seating accessible by stairs outside that also go to the dock. We had a visit from a bear two mornings so be sure to check your surroundings when you venture out & make yourself aware of bear safety. It’s the mountains of North Carolina and they live there year round!! Lots to do in the area-Asheville is an easy drive an hour away, closer the flowering bridge, & Chimney Rock, Tryon, Saluda, Pearson’s Falls, & Hendersonville. Would love to return in the fall, I’m certain it’s spectacular!! Thanks Bob!!

My family had a great time at this cabin! It was in a very small and quiet cove where my kids jumped off thw dock, swam and rode the kayak around! We rented a boat for the family and my husband had a blast fishing on Lake Lure! We even saw a baby black bear across the way from our house. Bob was very quick at responding to my questions and helping us out! It was a great time and will definitely be back in the future!

The house was all we hoped for, great views and easy, short drive into Lake Lure, the town. There were 5 adult women, celebrating a girls trip. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay again!

Our kids loved everything about our stay. Used the canoe, kayaks, we fished off the dock, played pool, table tennis, relaxed and had a wonderful time. It was the perfect size with just enough to do. It would be amazing to upgrade the kayaks since the seats and backs are broken. Although, this is to be expected in a rental house. The neighbors were friendly- we had an amazing time

Great spot on lake lure. Cabin was clean, breakfast food provided was great. Game room provided lots of entertainment for the kids. Cove was quiet and perfect for kids to swim and paddle around in. Host was quick to respond to all communication. Would definitely stay there again.

Very scenic on the water, and the place nicely fit our family of 6. Lots of great hiking in the area - Chimney Rock was great! It was our first time visiting the Lake Lure area. Fall colors were still hanging around (not peak, but still great). We’d love to return for a summer visit on the lake with more water activities. Would consider returning to this cabin again if the internet at the cabin is addressed - it’s DSL, which couldn’t support my family of 6 (constantly disconnected from internet, and needed to reboot modem). Our Verizon service didn’t work at the cabin, so we were unexpectedly off grid for the most part, which would have been fine if that’s what we were planning for, but we weren’t - I had a couple days of remote work to do, and my daughter had a remote college class. My wife and other kids were just annoyed with that because it was a constant battle to get or stay connected with family and friends, or to send pictures of some of the great stuff we’ve done. We definitely weren’t watching Netflix.

Loved the quaint cabin. The game room was a hit with all of us and we used it a ton. Kayaked and canoed on the lake. We were visiting during the down season which was perfect for our family. We enjoyed Chimney Rock and trail riding while we were there. Loved the fact that Bob was such a great host he had a few breakfast items already there. That is a super nice touch. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The grocery store is only 5 minutes away which means a lot to us as we cook in more than eat out. Great stay full of relaxation and fun had by all of us!

This was our second stay at the cabin and we can’t wait to go back. Our kids love the game room and accessibility to floats and swimming in the quiet cove. The house is clean and close to everything- groceries, gas, and restaurants, town. Bob was easy to work with and you can tell he takes pride in his house. My only wish was that there was dock seating (or portable chairs or something to bring down to the dock) but it wasn’t a huge deal. Thanks for another great stay, we are making plans for next summer!

This was a great stay with a bad ending. My grandson was accused of breaking a cue stick. It was broken when we arrived. At the owners request, I bought a new coffee pot. He was supposed to pay me back but said the place was too messy. There was a bath towel left on the floor and we did not empty the bathroom waste baskets. What are housekeepers paid to do?! Bottom line: we loved the cabin and enjoyed our stay immensely (we will be back) but this owners complaints were trivial. Will not book his properties again.

We really enjoyed the home and lake. The beds were comfortable and the canoe and kayaks were fun to paddle around the cove and out into the main lake. The downstairs game and tv room were a big hit for our 12yo. You may want to bring your own float for the lake, most at the house we’re probably just left there and had holes in them.

My family had the best time staying here. The house is beautiful and was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen had everything I needed to make breakfast every morning. Location-wise, it's close to everything - grocery store, restaurants, Chimney Rock, Morse Park, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the game room in the basement. Plenty of seating and plenty of things to play. I have no complaints at all. All in all, this was a great place to recharge as a family. There was so much laughter in the few days we were there. Thank you, Bob for being an amazing host. From your quick responses to leaving breakfast for us, you truly went above and beyond.

What an amazing spot on Lake Lure. My kids always want to go somewhere new on vacation. We never repeat stays. So it speaks volumes when they all asked to go BACK next summer! They loved the kayak the canoe, the game room and we even became friends with the neighbors. As far as location, I think this is the best spot on Lake Lure. You're close to the grocery store and just a short drive away from Chimney Rock. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Great log cabin on Lake Lure

This was a great log cabin located near the center of Lake Lure. Plenty of room for our family of 6. Had a large basement with pool table, ping pong and foosball, so we spent most evenings just hanging out there. The canoes/kayaks and fishing equipment that were provided gave us lots of options for enjoying the lake. The kitchen had all of the necessities so we were able to prepare meals, which was handy during the week since most of the local restaurants close early. Note that this is a log cabin tucked away in the woods, so lots of spiders outside and occasionally inside. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay!
