Our cabin is a true retreat, as it sits on five acres of land and is in a serene setting including access to Mirror Lake (seasonal views), Little Mirror Lake and Broad River. Access to Mirror Lake is about a mile away with a private beach for residents and guests to access. Enjoy swimming, tubing, fishing, and boating. No fishing permit needed. We have two standup paddle boards for you, as well as inner tubes, beach chairs, beach towels, and a cooler.
The king and queen beds downstairs are memory foam mattresses. The upstairs loft has two new memory foam twin beds (and lots of board games, books and a foosball table).
The fully equipped modern kitchen, with all stainless steel appliances-seats up to 6. Cozy up to a warm fire with the beautiful stone gas fireplace. We have wifi and a Netflix account and Roku, so you can stream movies/shows. Over 50 dvds to watch as well.
We are dog friendly and have 2 dog beds, leashes, bags, dog bowls, poop bags and treats. Our small back yard is gated for your dogs safety. They have access to the backyard which attaches to the wrap around deck, which also has permanent. There is a $100 one time fee for bringing your dog(s) - up to two dogs.

We had a blast and would definitely go back! The cabin was well stocked with anything we needed, quiet and secluded and perfect for our family and dog Molly! Access to the river and lakes was awesome. Highly recommend!

The cabin is very nice and the location is excellent. We have stayed in Riverbend before, but being on the side of the swimming lake was great!! We really appreciated the ability to use floats and chairs!
Nice firepit in the front yard and the fenced in run with the gated porch is perfect for most dogs (our 9 pound mini could get out, but she is fine on a leash).
I thought the listing said lake view, but we could not really see the lake from the porch. Maybe in the winter you would see more, but when the trees are full, there really is not a view. That is the only reason for 4 and not 5 stars.

After traveling for two days our 15 year old Amstaff was happy to be greeted with a basket full of dog toys! When you welcome our pup you welcome us! With a secure wrap around porch that leads to a secure fenced grassy area this was the most freedom our dog, Sir Hershel, has experienced!
The cabin was clean and fully stocked with all the items needed for cooking and enjoying time in the mountains. Karen (the owner) was a great communicator checking to make sure all was well. She responded to all our inquiries within minutes. She was friendly and welcoming.
The owners have gone the extra mile here to make sure it would be a great stay! The area is beautiful with lakes and waterfall hikes. We will be back! This cabin is located in a remote, private mountain community.

We ate breakfast every morning on the back deck with our dog, Magnus. Trails galore to walk him on. The ones with rushing water beside them were so calming. After our walks, the hanging chairs on the front porch were a dream to hang out in with a cool drink and my Nintendo Switch. For dinners with a big dog; we were able to eat at the Lake House Restaurant on the lower deck where the boat slips are, at the Highland we were able to walk him through and eat on the back deck, and behind the Tiki Hut Bar there were several picnic tables right by the rushing water (people were swimming and fishing).
In the evenings we watched one or two of our shows on an app whilst pooped Magnus didn’t even budge. A tired dog is a good dog. :) We also made a fire one night and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
Everything was well stocked.
Door lock worked perfectly.
Wifi worked perfectly.
Carpenter Bee Note: I read online that a fake wasp nest would deter them, so I used empty plastic grocery bags and hung them up in the areas that we sat outside. It reduced the number of them a bit.
We will definitely be back!! So much appreciation for welcoming a big dog!! Bless you Karen and Dave.

Very pet friendly! Made it easy for dogs to potty outside with fenced in yard. We did have an unknown wild animal visitor after finding the chairs knocked over and trash in the yard one of the mornings, so be aware

What a great Thanksgiving at this property. The location and views were outstanding. The home was very well equipped and we were able to prepare a wonderful Thanksgiving meal for our family. I was bummed out we couldn’t use the fire pit out side due to a burn ban, but the gas logs in the living room was nice to have.
The big toaster oven was a nice touch, it worked nice to cook up some snacks instead of using the oven.
Having the fenced in area for dogs was nice to have, and also having the amenities for the dogs was a nice to have as well. Less for us to pack.
This was our 3rd trip to Lake Lure, we really enjoy spending time here.

Karen was very helpful and responsive. This cabin was the perfect location for a peaceful getaway. It also had an excellent setup for dogs. Would strongly recommend staying here.

Overall the property was just as described with no major issues. My only concerns were:
1. Dog poop was found in the loft area under the bed when arrived. It was not our dog's either.
2. No firewood was provided. There was some in the pit we were able to use but not what as stated in the ad.
I would not hesitate to come back to this place and view these issues as minor. It was a great time and relaxing.

We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin amd the neighborhood was amazing! We will definately be staying here again! Its definately a piece of heaven!

Our family had a wonderful time at the cabin! It was the perfect place to unwind as a family. We paddle-boarded, swam/lounged on the beach, explored the trails, and hiked Chimney Rock. The house was clean and well-maintained, and the owners were very responsive and organized. Lake Lure and the small surrounding towns are hidden gems. Thank you, Karen, for letting us stay at your place!

Great homey cabin in a great location. Feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but you are close to so much!! Karen was incredible, allowing us to host a family Christmas dinner during our time there. The cabin is well stocked and pet friendly. We would definitely stay here again when in the area!!!

This cabin was perfect for our last minute escape from Florida. We had to bring the dogs and the cabin was really dog friendly with dog bowls, leashes, and beds. The cabin is centrally located between towns and close to Spartanburg. We went hiking, went to see a college, shopped, and brewery hopped. The owner is so helpful and quick to respond.

The cabin was beautiful and very quiet. Very modern appliances, comfy beds and the shower was very nice.
The cabin is a few minutes from the main road, but once on the main road you're 5-10 minutes from a lot of sites. There is a convenient beach access from the neighborhood which we did not take advantage of (at least not this trip) but we spent most of our time exploring Chimney Rock and the surrounding towns. Overall, we had a great long weekend

this house is stocked nicely and has plenty of room for up to 6 people. Plenty of amenities for the dog as well. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kids enjoyed the swimming holes on site in subdivision

Perfect Family Vacation
The host thought of everything; all the details and then some. Appliances, utensils, blankets, pillows, dog stuff, a grill, a fire pit, and more! We truly felt at home while on our vacation here. The entire community property was fantastic- we loved hanging out at the private beach in the community. She even gave use of a canoe and paddle boards, which were a hit with the kids. Our dog enjoyed splashing in the “old swimming hole”.
The host was easy to reach when needed and answered any and all questions (even those we could have found in her handy information binder).
Lots of amenities and fun things to do within a very short distance from the cabin. Grocery store, restaurants, ATV rides, tubing, Chimney Rock state park and more.
My only very minor complaint was the lack of carpets made movement in the loft loud. I’m a very light sleeper so I heard every move made by the kids in the loft above at night which meant a tired momma. BUT not a huge deal.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Thank you for making our first vrbo experience an awesome one!

Tranquil Retreat
Perfect quiet retreat for our family. Karen provided everything our family (kids and dogs) needed to enjoy this cozy cabin. Super easy check in and Karen is readily available for any and all questions.
Karen thank you for sharing this special place with our family! I especially appreciate the affordable pet fees and the little touches for the dogs- deck gate, dog run, bowls, beds, etc!
We made lots of fun memories and would definitely love to visit again!

So many special touches and super clean!
5 stars all around! We enjoyed a wonderful fall getaway! The cabin is cozy and super clean. So many thoughtful details and everything you could possibly need from firewood to games, movies, a foosball table our kids really enjoyed, a canoe, paddleboards, and even things for your dog. The only thing we could have used was a little brighter light in the kitchen area but minor detail/preference. By far one of the nicest rentals we have stayed at so far! Great location if you want to explore Chimney Rock, the Blue Ridge Parkway, go into Ashville, or just enjoy Lake Lure and the community itself.

Great!
Perfect little cabin! There are many little lakes within the community and a quick drive to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. The cabin was spotless and so cute. The attention to detail was impressive. The kitchen had EVERYTHING you could need and the bathroom had extra shelves and plenty of towel hooks (which frankly, isn’t usual for rentals!). My son and I had fun playing football in the front yard, spotting hummingbirds and deer. We also had fun watching movies from their large collection of DVD’s. If you’re considering staying here, just go ahead and do it!

We had the best week at this home! My husband, son & I live states away from my parents, so it was such a blessing to spend time with them. The dogs had a great time too! We loved the area, with so much to do, but also enjoyed our quiet times at the cabin just as much. Perfect getaway spot!
